Lovely breakfast menu. Dog friendly. Amazing quirky little cafe. Definitely recommend the french toast. We reserved a table but it was empty when we arrived so sat anywhere we liked. It got really busy about 1:30 on a weekday so would suggest booking a table.

Visited with the family today and we had such a lovely time - it’s a very welcoming place. The owner was so warm and accommodating; she helped with menu choices, got toys for the kids and ensured that all of the food and drinks were catered perfectly for all of us (2 children aged 2 and 6 and a vegetarian) - for example, the hot chocolates for the children were just the right size for them and also not too hot. A small touch but it means a lot when so often children are given a huge, tall cup with a straw which you just know they’ll tip over themselves or something that is scalding hot and they can’t drink for half an hour.

The staff are lovely, but I have to say how they can't do something as basic as toast! Every time I order toast it is never actually "toasted" fully... they don't spread the butter and/or marmite/jam properly either. It's always really disappointing. Only reason I tend to go back there is because it's conveniently located and I think it can't be that bad again!

After completing a circular walk around the delightful city of Royal Tunbridge Wells,we happened on a cafe directly across the street from our hotel on Crescent Road. The Rustic Cafe, run by a mother-daughter-duo, features an electric mix of tables and chairs, indoors and out, and a long appetizing list of sandwiches, soups, quiches and boards; the desserts looked irresistible, though we did manage to resist. The cheese board on this particular day featured two kinds of brie and two kinds of cheddars with brown bread, Branston pickle, chips, grapes, cucumbers and strawberries. My five tablemates fell upon the brie but we still left some on the board. All agreed it was the best brie they'd ever tasted! Hands down, this was the best lunch cafe we visited in our trip to Kent and Sussex. The owner and her daughter could not have been more accommodating. Everything was delicious. Well worth a visit to the top of Crescent Road for a savory lunch amid the antiques.

I have been here several times, on my own, with my wife and with friends and every time the food has been excellent and every time the welcome and friendliness has been great and every time bar once the atmosphere has been perfect.Sadly once we were in and a customer / friend of the waitress was in and talked and talked and talked, ignoring her child who almost walked out of the place and potentially onto the street. We went and sat out side because the girl didn't have a shut off switch and it all felt rather inappropriate, the young waitress was doing her best to "control" this friend but it was embarrassing for her. However these things happen and the owner and waitress have always been so charming hence the 5 rating and the food served well and taste great.Good luck and keep managing your "customers" :)

I work in Tunbridge Wells not far from Rustic and I go every single day without fail, sometimes twice, I cannot fault the food or the hospitality from the staff, everything they offer is freshly made on site, the various products such as the coffees and the bottles drinks are really different and not the usual same old thing you find in most cafes. I'm always greeted by name and have built up a good relationship with the staff, they always cater for any need, their not to strict on their menu and will allow the customers to diversify and create exactly what I want. When in Tunbridge wells I seriously recommend giving them a visit. Flawless

Rustic is a lovely coffee shop near the Assembly Halls in Twells and is perfectly situated on my route to the station. The coffee is always great and the fresh pastries taste brilliant too. For me, buying coffee from an independent coffee house always feels better than paying the same amount of money to a global chain/corporation. They also offer sandwiches and cakes, but I am yet to try these!

I popped in here from work just over a week ago to grab a sandwich. This venue used to be called "Perfect Platters" and made super sandwiches at good prices.I ordered beef and horseradish which was unavailable so settled for ham and cheese. For the £4.20 that I paid, I received the following- ham and cheese in 2 very small slices of bread- no butter, no mustard, no nothing. It was as dry as a bone and for the price it was also tiny, the sandwiches used to be a good size when it was run by other people. My colleagues had warned me that the place had changed and that very few of them went there anymore, I now understand why. The first and last visit.

Rustic was recommended to me and I went along today with a friend and our two children. Rustic is a small but amazing cafe. No issues finding space for our two pushchairs which makes a pleasant change for Tunbridge Wells. I met the owner and her daughter this morning and they couldn't have been any more helpful. They gave the kids baby chinos and a box of toys and did not mind when the kids sat on the floor to play. The bread used for toast was to die for and my friend had the fantastic porridge. Can't wait to go back and try the great choice of sandwiches and cakes. Well done Rustic you made two mummies and two children very happy!

My husband and I along with our 3 children were in Tunbridge Wells when we came across the little, family run yet extremely friendly cafe. As we walked in we were greeted with a happy welcoming atmosphere where we were talked through the menu on the board and told the wide variety of different homemade meals we could have. My young children are extremely fussy with the kind of foods that they like to eat, but that did not seem to be a problem at all with the staff. They provided my family with a delicious, enjoyable meal and experience. At other cafes I have been too the staff were not as willing to adapt their menu for my children. Furthermore we were not just given a sandwich that we ordered, we were also given a side of salad and crisps of our choice. After we had eaten our lunch, there was a great selection of different cakes and slices that we were able to choose from. We were extremely happy with our lunch and time spent in there as we felt well looked after and had the feeling of home. I didn't feel like we had to keep our children entertained to keep the staff happy, they were willing to talk to my children, my husband and I as well as giving us our own personal space. There was enough pram space to have my youngest child stay in the pram but joined in with us, which also gave a really nice feel to it. Overall, I highly recommend Rustic Cafe for a lunch or a quick pop-in for a takeaway lunch or coffee. Great prices, atmosphere and service.
