Had my daughter's baby shower here yesterday. Gemma and the team went to such efforts to make our time here so special. The decorations looked great and the food was amazing! Everyone had a wonderful time. 100% recommend Rumour as a venue or just to pop in for tea and cake. Can't thank the team enough!

After trying several place to ask if we could bring our dog in, rumours was only to pleased for us to come in for lunch. The staff were very friendly and immediately bought our dog Daisy a bowl of water. Coffee and lunch was very good. Highly recommend them

2 waitresses kicked me out because I was studying on my laptop for 15 minutes. They said I should continue consuming for being aloud to stay. Was also told off for using a plug to charge my phone. Not very welcoming for student! I do not recommend

Fantastic atmosphere, great staff. Definitely a must visit! The vibe here is friendly and welcoming to all. I’ll be coming again soon!

Lovely lunch out, food was served quickly and was fresh. Atmosphere was ok apart from the alarm box keep bleeping which was annoying.. Staff very welcoming and friendly.. 'Monty' we think was around!!! Maybe thats why it wasn't very busy..Would we return? Absolutely we will..The only eatery in town we would recommend.

Best coffee shop for miles! Popped in as had an afternoon tea delivered by them during lockdown so wanted to visit. So impressed! Shop was clearly busy with orders but service was still good. My husband chose the coffee cake and the slice was huge - he is a cake freak and loved it and was almost beaten buy it. I particularly like the fact is was so friendly in there with such a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely go again when nipping into town

5 of us came here for afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday and we was all blown away by it. Firstly the staff were so very helpful getting me balloons, banners and a beautiful birthday cake. As this was all done over the phone I did not know what to expect but I need not of worried as everything was perfect even down to the laying of the table which was done beautifully. The amount of food made our eyes pop and was all so lovely and tasty and I could not believe you got all that for the price. On the day the staff were so helpful and friendly and could not do enough for you even taking photos for us.I cannot recommend this place highly enough and we are planning our next visit.

We had afternoon tea arranged as a birthday celebration for a friend. Firstly the staff went above and beyond upon the request to decorate the table - it was beautiful. But was even more impressive was the delicious selection of sandwiches, savories and cakes that were supplied. There was a vast selection of food to choose from, all of which was freshly made, beautifully presented and so nice that my friend and I left bursting at the seams! I live in London and have had afternoon tea in places that are renowned for it, but this truly matched and in some cases exceeded those experiences. I would make a round trip journey with my family just for this little gem on an unexpected high street.

I visited here with my younger daughter on Saturday. I emailed prior due to my daughter having allergies and wanting to make sure there was an option for us to be able to eat. To my delight there were multiple vegan options. The person that served me went to check what was available when needed and was friendly. We had plenty to choose from and what we had was lovely. We spoke to another person who very helpful and suggested if i contact before coming they will always ensure we have option which was very sweet and unexpected. Everyone was really friendly and the prices were extremely affordable. I loved the asthetic of the cafe using the pallets and coffee bags to create decor and i fell in love with the singer tables! We will deffinitely be back again!

My daughter whose a teacher wanted to send my partner and I something special from a local independent business.I received on the 22/12/2020 a most visually impressive hamper. Once opened, my partner and I enjoyed lovely, imaginative and quality home made sandwiches and cakes along with other ideal accompaniments.Don't know how much it cost as it was a Christmas present so can't comment on value but I would say that it was very high-end market quality.

Enjoyed a lovely Birthday Afternoon Tea delivered today! It was absolutely delicious, so fresh and tasty. Such good value for such a lovely variety of different sandwiches, cakes and scones with extra little touches of sweets, teabags, hot choc sachet, fresh fruit & salad. I had a special cupcake with a birthday candle too! It's the gift that keeps on giving, have enough cake left for tomorrow! Highly recommend!

This is the sort of place which if we'd been walking ALONG the street we'd have walked straight past without really noticing it. As it was we approached it from the passageway opposite. Covid dictates that we wait in the entrance to be noticed, but having checked in with the Track & trace app we had the pick of the available tables, which have been spaced to Covid-friendly distances. The three young ladies were all friendly and helpful and service was quick. We had the day's special deal on sandwiches, cake, crisps and a pot of tea apiece- excellent value at the offered price.The sandwiches were freshly made and generously filled with quality garnish supplied. My wife reports the chocolate cake is to die for, and I found the scone excellent.Unfortunately Sheerness is 175 miles from home, otherwise we would become regular clients.

I can't fault the team at Rumours. They were incredibly helpful, patient and kind to myself and my three small children today. We were seated after a couple minutes of waiting and our food and drinks order was taken promptly. The kids all ate from the extensive kids menu and I quickly chose a breakfast. After then having a chance to look at the menu properly, I asked to swap to a breakfast tortilla (as I wasn't overly hungry) and they happily made the switch for me without complaint or fuss. Drinks were brought over really quickly, which gave us time to enjoy those before the food arrived. Excellent portion sizes for us and the kids all ate up happily.The only fly in the ointment was actually because of my youngest child, who left the table without asking and in the blink of any eye managed to deck a woman who was unfortunately entering the cafe at the same time. She went down hard and the staff were really kind to her and us. It was a genuine accident but I felt terrible for the lady who fell. The staff could see how distressed I was and when I went to pay,they actually gave us some free cake to take away for later. They went above and beyond any service I've received elsewhere. If I ever return to Sheppey, I'll 100% go back.Lastly, they had LOADS of Vegan and Veggie options for adults and children, so that was an added bonus.Highly recommend.

This cafe took on our request for a picnic for our special day - 20 year anniversary during lockdown - they produced us a lovely picnic box with fresh sandwiches, rolls, salads, scones with cream & jam etc. A beautifully crafted lunch for 2 which we took with us for a picnic. Thanks very much, great food from a local small business, made for a great day as everywhere else was shut for food. Would thoroughly recommend a call to rumour who can cater for your little outing. Have been to the shop before for coffees and cake. Will come again

Great coffee and nice atmosphere! Friendly staff. Visited today for takeaway service and discovered they are also doing a comprehensive delivery service too!

A friend and I were doing a tour round of the Isle of Sheppey and Rumour looked like the nicest place on Sheerness high street, so we popped in for a coffee. The place smelled amazing, so we quickly changed our minds to include baked goods too. We both had fruit scones with jam and cream. The scones were freshly made, served warm, with a generous helping of both jam and cream. Coffee was good too.

Great place! Friendly staff and a nice calm environment for a coffee. Flat white was lovely; delivered to my table.

I visit this place a couple times a week, I get greeted with a smile and the service is always top notch. The food is played very presentable and is lovely. The place has a very relaxing and calm environment. Usually I will just eat and go in a normal cafe, but here I feel like I can sink onto their nice chairs and just enjoy the atmosphere there. Certainly would refer to anyone!

Have gone into Rumours a few times as like the deco and ambience of it, and the little touches like giving you a biscuit with your coffee that sets it aside from other coffee shops in the High Street.However, seems they have stopped giving a biscuit with the coffee which is sad as it was a nice thing to do. They seem to have stopped doing their loyalty cards, another nice gesture stopped.Little touches like these are good for attracting and keeping clientele...sets them aside from the other coffee shops....so come on Rumours, bring those little touches back again, they really make a difference.

I had a nice cheese and potato pie, nothing special though and I though £4 was a bit expensive for a local lunch. I then had a coffee which was nice, my friend had a tea - no complaints. The atmosphere was very good and I did a waxing class which was different. Would go here again but just for coffee.

This is a great place for an intimate meeting with friends. There is a variety of comfortable seating, a wide range of drinks and some delicious cakes. Portion sizes vary, however and staff are not always able to describe contents of said cakes.

I had the pleasure of visiting the cafe this evening to participate in a poetry event. Good coffee, great cakes, friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Well worth a visit and checking out what events they have on.

Old fashioned table service, hot drinks come with a biscuit, scones with all the sides, excellent food. Service may seem slow compared with fast food outlets as coffee is freshly ground and made through a Barista machine so, many choices but worth the wait.

Been here several times when i visit my children and grandchildren. Very nice place and good food, but a couple of weeks ago we went there on a Sunday and it said it opens at 10am, but by 10.15 we gave up as there was no sign of anyone in the shop.

Stopped here for brunch with a friend. Very friendly and prompt service. Decent vegetarian options. We each had a vegetarian sausage sandwich and a pot of tea. Generous amount and VERY good value! Would definitely recommend:)

Rumour is a great little place to go for a coffee and a bite to eat.

Often go into this lovely cafe when i go to the town. The food is very tasty and all seems to be cooked in the cafe. The warm scones we had today were fresh out of the oven, ever so yummy with clotted cream and jam. They do a good choice of drinks all well prepared, My friend always has the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows which looks marvellous! the coffee is better than the well known chains and i like the little pots of sugar cubes. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Probably the best shop in Sheerness.

Rumour looks from the outside a bit different from the rest, it looks calming and relaxed, but unfortunately so was the service! I ordered tea and got coffee, I ordered an egg sandwich and was told we only have white bread, run out of granary, however the pleasant young man offered to get me a roll from the nearby bakery, which I though was great, except what I got was a hard finger roll with basically sliced egg stuffed in it. On paying I was told to be charged at the sandwich price of £2, when I said it wasn't good, shrugged shoulders were the response. I watch some customers come and go because they couldn't supply the simplest of orders. Although the manner was pleasant it seemed the hardest of tasks to serve correctly the orders. I have run a restaurant and tea rooms and therefore I am talking from experience. Apart from drinks each order had to be fulfilled by walking to the back of the shop, hardly any operation was available at the counter! By the way standing outside the front door smoking is not a good advert for hygiene!

An ideal cafe/restaurant in a convenient place on the High Street close to shops.An element of upcycling has been made in the decor with tables mounted on sewing machine treadle frames and the counter constructed from recycled pallets. Service was friendly and polite with a decent meal, a pot of tea and many options including vegetarian. There is also a comfortable area with armchairs for a relaxed read or chat.A clean environment and a pleasant atmosphere.

I visit rumour with my boyfriend last weekend. It is a lovely place with a wide range of options for breakfast and lunches. They offer vegetarian choices as well as non diary milks. Food was homemade and very tasty. If I ever come back to Sheerness, I will come back. Highly recommended.

Very friendly, with nice coffee and excellent cakes/scones etc. Didn't have a meal here but others eating said it was good and it definitely looked good.

I enjoy visiting Rumours for a latte and a read of my book. It has a lovely atmosphere, staff are friendly and the ham and cheese toastie they make is scrummy. Only 4 stars because although the value of the food is good I do think the latte is a little more on the expensive side given the size of the cup it comes in

Lovely little cafe tucked away in the high street, great food, great service and great support for the community too.

Visited Rumours with my wife for breakfast and I have to say it was shocking the service was slow as there was an inexperienced person on his own however the order was inaccurate and quality of our breakfast was extremely poor, and as a result we did not eat it... It should never have left the kitchen. You have a great opportunity to offer something different to sheerness focus on it!!

We had lunch here, a club sandwich & a prawn sandwich. The bread was thick and fresh with plenty of filling and a salad garnish. Fresh coffee and a pot of tea followed by homemade rhubarb and lemon cake. Lovely cafe, friendly staff, really good food and drinks at a reasonable price. Really good all round, will definitely use again.

It’s lovely the decor is quaint and the crockery is all old bone china the food is totally home cooked and delicious and they have community nights the last one being local poets reading out their works

Went here twice, have to say, what friendly staff and owner, nothing was too much trouble.The thin girl with glasses, is so so friendly.

Popped in here on the weekend its quite nice although the staff are a little less informed as i asked do i order at table or from the counter and they looked a bit bewildered lol but lovely cake though
