It was busy. But very slow service. It would of been better if we had been informed of time having to wait for the food.

Nice pub way kids playground, had a very pleasant hour with the family.

Food was awful i got a childrens mac and cheese and it was like 2 mouthfuls I had to share my dinner with him because he was still hungry childrens roast beef dinner the beef wasn't even cooked and it was just fat my daughter nearly choked on it we had 2 mixed grills the meat was tough and fatty and the mash was like rubber it was not worth 18 pound it cost me £80 today to feed 2 adults and 2 children with drinks i think it's disgusting for the food that was served we had to wait over an hour for food like I said for the price and the time we had to wait it was disgusting I used to like it here but won't be returning

Natasha and Ryan were great hosts, the food excellent value and great service.

Nice staff, but dreadful adherence to it's stated opening times. On one occasion in late January, the last orders bell rang almost immediately after we ordered our 1st drink... at 21.30!! Although the cost of alcohol continues to rise, I'm stunned at the prices charged by such an ordinary establishment.

Usually really good all round. We go a lot as a couple or with the children and grandchildren. Our last visit left me really annoyed though. We popped in for the lunch deal which includes a wrap or ciabatta with chips / fries and a drink. Ordered the same as we always do and it got to my drink and I always have the large glass of red wine the barman gave me some wine options and poured the wine. Then did the bill which was £7 more than usual. When questioned he said the wine I had wasn’t included in the deal. Only the house red. So I said house wasn’t in the options he offered to be told there was no house wines available on that day. He was getting annoyed so I just payed the extra and took the wine. But really feel I should have been told before. It wasn’t busy so he could have taken the time to mention it. Really annoying that a light lunch ended up costing £27.

Some Great food at this pub. The only thing I will say is that the wait time was a bit long upon our visit.. But well worth it as the food was great

They do an amazing meal deal before 5pm the portions are modest but more than enough with a starter and dessert. The staff are friendly and helpful. And the place is beautifully clean, especially the gents !!

Fantastic place to watch sport or have a family meal. The bar and restaurant are seperate so neither disturb the other. A lovely friendly space. My dog (Stanley) especially loves the treat shelves for the doggos! Cannot recommend here enough

Arrived for a Festive meal with 3 others and table was beautifully decorated for Xmas. Staff were attentive and really friendly. Great service through the evening, each course presented well andfood was excellent quality. Never even had to visit the bar, all our drinks were brought to our table. Ryan,Danny and Kayleigh could not do enough to make our evening very enjoyable and would definitely return in the very near future. Well done to all the staff and Greene King.

We often visit the rugby tavern as a family of 4 but came this time as a family group of 28 and we loved it for a nice Christmas gathering. We pre-ordered from the Christmas menu (a few people chose the normal menu too) and it all went seamlessly. The staff were great - which they always are whenever we visit. A special thank you to Danny, Jack, Ryan and Tilly who kept everything running smoothly on the day! The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the chilled atmosphere. We have a variety of dietary requirements in the family including dairy and gluten free, vegan and nut allergy so we're not an easily family to provide for but the Rugby Tavern were very accommodating and made sure everyone had everything they wanted. Many thanks, we'll definitely be visiting again soon!

Good food good beer nice service

11 of us had a fabulous evening here on Friday 13th. The Xmas dinner was delicious.... so much turkey and incredibly moist! The service as always was fantastic..the staff just couldn't do enough for us. Thanks all

A great meal tonight at the Tavern! 12 of us had the festive menu and it was fab! I had prawn cocktail and turkey - so good! Staff were great - knew what we’d ordered, nice hot food… Will definitely be back!!

Rugby Tavern was great for a reasonably priced Christmas meal. The staff were welcoming and Ryan was helpful. We were able to space out the meal and weren’t rushed. The food was tasty, particularly enjoyed the mushroom starter. Was a lovely atmosphere, with pretty table decorations, would recommend.

We came for an early Christmas dinner with my family that live away. When we arrive, we was greeted and chained to our table that had been decorated really lovely and festive. The food was delicious as were the cocktails that we ordered to come to our table. Everything was lovely. The food was really nice. Can recommend especially on the starter menu, The creamy mushrooms and the prawn Starter, The Christmas dinner on the main menu And the Black for Sunday the chocolate brownie, The cheesecake On the desert menu. This was the festive menu. All the food was delightful, but those were our favourites! Cocktails were divine!!! Thank you to the bar staff and waiters, Ryan Tash and Jack! We are coming back again with more family next week and we will be coming back next year too 🎅 🎄

I booked a Christmas lunch for myself and a friend, lovely greeting on arrival and we were given the best seating in the restaurant, the Christmas lunch was wonderful , piping hot and plentiful, the desert was gorgeous, we had staff coming round to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything , I'm a regular at the tavern with a friend and every meal we've had has been perfectly cooked and very tasty, I would definitely recommend eating at the tavern as it's the best place for a great meal (I recommend the soup and the fish and chips), it never disappoints, thank you ..... Kayleigh, Tash , Ryan and Danny , we look forward to seeing you again very soon , well done to you all 👏👏

A lovely lunch and a nice Christmas atmosphere

Went there for the Xmas meal and my birthday was great from start to finish excellent food and service really gd value for money will def be going again 🙂

Sunday lunch was lovely. The turkey was sooo moist. All others in our group today also throughly enjoyed their food, burger and Gammon steak. Childrens menu very reasonably priced. Jessie and Tilly were polite and efficient. Service with a smile. Keep up the good work ladies. Much appreciated!!!

The team, Ryan, Danny & Kayleigh were brilliant and really friendly. Came for a Xmas lunch and it was great from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend and come again - absolute bargain.

Really great value for money on the kids meal! My son had the Pick and Mix deal for £3.99 - he chose a 3oz burger, chips and optional veggies included. ( with 50p extra for cheese), He up-graded for £1.50 to have the most massive Brownie and Rainbow Chocolate Sundae and orange juice . A very happy boy and relaxed mum. The service by Tash was excellent and very professional.

Lovely family meal today. We were a group of 4 adults and 2 children and ordered a mixture of the main, Sunday and kids menus. All of the food was excellent quality, reasonably priced and plenty of it. The service both at the bar and from our server was excellent, friendly and efficient throughout. The pub itself was fresh, clean and bright.

The food was very nice and well presented. Our server was very attentive and pleasant and really helpful.

Great food as usual cooked by the kitchen team Shane, Rash, Kayleigh & Jack. I didn’t catch the waitress’s name but she was chirpy & polite. It was a very busy night & we didn’t book in advance. Still managed to find a table & our food was with us within about 20 minutes. Perfect.

Friendly staff, decent food for the price compared to others and accommodating of well behaved dogs. The gammon has been a bit hit and miss over the last couple of years, not the best on Saturday (very dry and too much pepper) but has been great previously.

This pub has improved so much the last couple of years, the beer is always top notch & the food is great value. The staff are very attentive even in busier periods which is a thumbs up to the management team. Myself & my friends come in here regularly to watch the football and play pool etc. Keep up the great work

We enjoyed celebrating my mum's 90th birthday at her favourite pub. We were a party of 24 and the service was brilliant. They prepared a lovely area for us, and served us without any fuss despite the chaos from our celebrations. Big call out for Ryan, Tash and Jack who were brilliant. Thank you all for making it a perfect party.

The staff are always friendly & welcoming.We have had several meals there & they are always very nice never had any problems with the food. The tables are always cleared & wiped clean quickly after someone leaves.

I go into this pub on a regular basis since noticeable improvement a few years ago. Not had any problems when I've ordered food. Prices are perfectly reasonable and there are a decent selections of beers, etc. Special mention of the owners. A colleague reported some pot holes going into the car park by phone. Within a very short they had been fixed. Great service all round.

Food okay. Window cills covered in dust and cobwebs. Didn't notice until after our meal had finished. If it's like this in the restaurant what is it like in the kitchen where food is prepared and cooked.

Seriously slow service. As there were eight of us we asked for separate bills. They messed it up and then they took half an hour to sort it out. The food was nice but we won't go again

Great pub, frequently take part in their well subscribed pub quiz on a Tuesday. Often have deals for cheap pints and discounted food. Food is good quality and they have monthly specials on burgers. Staff are friendly, and service is always pretty quick. Jack is a great laugh, always enjoy a catchup with him over the bar

Great place for a family dinner with a large menu and great service. Our food was cooked superbly and the waiting staff were friendly and polite which made the experience even better. Would definitely come back with family and friends

Dirty sticky tables, my meal was awful, lasagne burnt at bottom , only the middle could be eaten as the edges were like brick, the person i was eating with his meal was lovely

Toilet bin overflowing and at 1:30 !! 1 meal did not arrive until the rest of us finished our meal, excuse was the order didn’t print properly . Very disappointing

Came in yesterday and had a couple drinks with some friends, just catching up. All the staff on were lovely and thank you to kayley for bringing our drinks and food over when we ordered on the app!

Called in for a bite to eat. Quiet afternoon. The place needs a good clean, extremely sticky tables. Ordered a couple of non-alcoholic drinks. Which were given in bottles. And one glass which had 3 Types, YES 3 types of lipstick on it! When I took the glass to be changed, the man went through at least 10 glasses to find a nearly clean one. Whilst putting all the dirty ones back.! Then, he proceeded to scratch himself all over, forheard, beard, chest, not just once either.... We DIDN'T STOP for food. 🤢

Ordered soft drinks. Glasses the drinks were served in were filthy. Seeing that always puts me off a pub.

The staff could be a little more relaxed! Felt like I was facing a Sgt Major in a disciplinary action for taking pictures of Menu & Bar!!! Further to your patronising reply about taking photos of staff, I do know better!! Have u seen photos of your staff or anyone in my reviews? No! I did not and will not take photos of people. I am there to review your establishment not take photos of people or staff. Most establishment will let you unless you have something to hide

Nice place even if a little expensive

Been before and the food was really nice. This time it was awful Hunters Chicken - chicken very over cooked, salad going brown and slimy. Table was dirty (we arrived as it opened) menus dirty and sticky. Staff very friendly - the only good thing there!!

Had a table for 15 that was pre booked the manager Daniel made sure everything was sorted and gave us a very spacious table, excellent service and amazing food was amazing would definitely recommend the tavern friendly staff and great management

Waited over 20 minutes at the bar to be served, staff walking passed but ignored us so we walked out and took our custom elsewhere. Place is gradually going downhill

My Partner and I come here regularly, every visit is great! Food is never wrong, the prices I think are faultless and overall a very warm and welcomed feeling each and every trip. This making The Rugby Tavern the number 1 place to visit for lunch or a teatime meal. Today Sunday 12th RYAN who brought our food and a nice chap behind the till both made today another great experience. Thank you to everyone here and a special shout to the CHEF who never fails to dish up great food and to all the other hard working staff.

We live locally to the rugby tavern and regularly visit- great food, great staff, fair prices and a fun playground for children to play on outside. Lots of indoor and outdoor space too. We would definitely recommend! The chicken katsu curry is delicious!

Went with our now adult family as used to dine years ago when they were little. Natasha & Josh/Jake great staff. Knowledgeable, quick & good. We notice that there is always Management present even if he is just simply sitting at a table observing/working. This has turned Rugby T around & their reputation is now very good. It is always busy with good vibe. Now as we are retired we often go & enjoy a good meal.
