Had a lovely birthday meal at the Old Mill. Had an allergy at the table and so much to offer and allergy menu was very comprehensive and clear. Les was amazing and made our night so lovely.

Great place... went to celebrate my wife's grandmother's 90th birthday and they gave us an amazing table by a window, which added to the experience. As a group of 7 adults and 3 children, the staff were accommodating ensuring we had child seats and bringing the children's food out first as requested so we could feed the hungry little ones. The food was well prepared and nicely presented. I had the Bacon Burger, which was flame-grilled to perfection and one of the best sticky toffee puddings I have ever had (with custard obviously). It's great as they have a good variety of ice creams for the children. All is a great manual and special menu for adults and a fantastic selection on the menu for kids. Really recommend it for a family meal or intermate date between two.

Burns meal where first three courses were superb. Really delicious. Downside is service was very slow, the waitress was leaving so wanted us to settle the bill before our desserts. We wanted to pay her a tip, she just disappeared then we waited ages for a pre made rather poor cold dessert to. R served by another person who didn’t have a clue about our order. Needs improving here. 4 stars are for the first three courses

Terrible burns night meal, dried out haggis so much so cracked whisky flaked sauce on the plate because NO ONE entered the kitchen to collect the done meals. Then dried out thick venison that was rock hard you couldn't cut into it. Probably yesterday's unsold portion. Never eat there again. HORRIBLE.

Another lovely meal at The Old Meal, always great food and fab service. We were served by Surya and she was lovely and always checked in on us. It's great to have a lovely spot so locally.

Chef and brewer, usually good in my experience. Have 3 local to me, and they are excellent. This one, however, dirty tables, not cleared in the hour I was sat there. Group of mouthy men swearing in the middle of this supposedly family friendly restaurant chain and hotel. Staff did absolutely nothing, and everyone could hear them. It's totally off-putting. There were also children in this establishment on my visit which were having to listen to this.

Had had meat stolen but was not informed when entered . Staff were too busy so more staff needed at the prices they charge this was poor and you get better service at a spoons.

Popped in on speck and had a wonderful meal. My husband had the steak and ale pie and I had the veg risotto. Very tasty and good value. Ability was our server. Very welcoming and polite to us and customers following us in. She appeared to be handling the place single-handedly! We'll be back, but we'll book first so as not to put her on the spot. Used my blue-light discount which made it even sweeter!

A warm welcome on a cold day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Great food, well cooked and presented. Yes, our granddraughter could have garlic bread with both her starter and main course. The prices aren't bad either.

We went for a family meal for my fathers 80th birthday. The pub has a great warm atmosphere and tge food was great.

I had the pleasure of staying here for 5 days. The accommodation was very comfortable. The room was spacious with a table and couple of chairs to provide an alternative seating area compared to most chain hotels where your only option is the bed. I was also impressed with the smart features available on the TV which you could take for granted these days but isnt availble everywhere so nice to see here. My room was kept clean and tidy all week and we had no issues with it at all. Our primary takeaway from the Old Mill was that the staff couldn't be friendlier. We had wee chats with many of them during our stay and they made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. Unfortunately during our visit the river at the rear had become swollen due to melt water from snow and burst over the walls. This caused flooding throughout much of the bar, restaurant, reception and elsewhere. The staff's response to this was to be commended, they remained calm and reassuring whilst continuing to provide outstanding service in the face of significant adversity (they were stepping over sandbags through floodwater to pour us a pint!). We were unable to dine at the hotel for one evening due to the flood damage. Having dined at another local restaurant that night we were reminded by way of their slapdash, poor service of how good the staff here are. We would like to thank the team here, Sam, Lois, Zuz, lovely team leader whose name we forgot/didn't catch and others. You were all wonderful and really made our stay. I would recommend this for a good quality and reasonably priced evening meals. The mixed grill i had was excellent along with the addition of rosemary spriggs to both the chicken burger and the chicken strips just added a lovely extra flavour and scent. The trio of roasts available on the Sunday menu was also not to be missed. The beer was also excellent. If I lived nearby i'd be a frequent visitor. I would recommend for both a stay, along with a visit to the restaurant or bar. There isnt much else nearby so i've knocked off a star for location.

Been to the old mill frequently, the food is lovely and the pints are always good. The services is brilliant and a big thanks to Abi and Jordan who ensures an enjoyable experience. Would highly recommend this pub.

Just popped in for food Lois was a great host, looked after us really well.

The building, decor etc is very nice, but the food is truly awful. Ordered halloumi fries that tasted like they had been cooked in bad oil or perhaps put into cold oil, they were very oil logged with an aftertaste. Ordered a vegetarian salad that came with bread that was so hard it was impossible to bite or cut and which damaged my tooth enamel when i tried to bite. Nice place for a drink, but in all honesty, avoid the food. It looked like they were understaffed today too.

One EV charger completely out of action. The other charging at 25v or 38ccs. The pub was nice last time we visited, but couldn't go in today because we had to go find a charger

Had a family meal here, the food here is good, typical chef and brewer style, but the setting is lovely- open fire, ceiling beams, full of character. The service was fantastic, our waitress Surya was so attentive and lovely, a real asset to the pub :) thanks again for a great experience!

The quality of food was really good and the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only issue really was the table that was on the side of the walkway through so felt quite exposed...in hindsight we should have asked to be moved. We also stayed over and the room was amazing.

We had a lovely meal in the restaurant with family on Sunday. The food was amazing, good size portions, and the service provided by Surya and her colleagues was excellent. Highly recommend.

Always like the Old Mill Baginton. Nice food and friendly staff. That review was true at the date printed but This week my family had a table booked for 6 people but the spirit of goodwill was obviously missing. My so surprised us with a visit so I phoned to ask if we could add him to our table. I said we don't mind squeezing him in but the Grinch said that not allowed! Really is one more person at our table a fire risk? So I cancelled the table and found a friendly restaurant.

Booked late after a visit to Warwick castle, easy and pleasant booking system. On arrival, greeted and showed to our table and service was excellent! Our waitress Lois was amazing, made our first visit very pleasant. Food was prompt and amazing, we had the 2 course Christmas menu and ve egg satisfying ready for our drive home When in the are will 100% visit again Thankyou Robert

The staff were very helpful and attentive and our waitress Lois was great, very personable. The room was big with everything you required for a short stay. The room was showing the start of wear on the carpet and some loose trim in the bathroom, thus the four star rating. Cleanliness was very good. The hotel is very convenient if travelling to Coventry, Warwick or Stratford Upon Avon.

We had a really average meal here the other Sunday, left quite disappointed..an incorrect order and an overcooked meal, BUT service was still good, AND have been many times before and it's always been really really good. might just not go on a busy festive Sunday again.

Recent Business Trip Nov 2024 • business I recently stayed here on two separate occasions, within one week, with a work colleague. The rooms are a little tired but clean. The hotel building needs some investment from the Chef & Brewer chain, both internally and externally, to lift it from good to superb. However, the food and drink on offer is of a very high standard and the staff are amazing and look after you very well. Special thanks to Marc the manager who helped out with a set of jump leads and a jump start one cold morning. He went out of his way and saved us from a long wait for the RAC to turn up! Many thanks Marc. I would definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. Room needs some tlc! Bedroom had so much potential but was tired. Bathroom really needs some upgrades & paint! Roof lots of black (looked like mould!) Tap leaked. Bath filled up while running shower. Signal for phones very poor.
