Do not visit here if you are LGBTQ+. This past weekend it was Warwickshire Pride. We went in for a drink and openly heard staff using homophobic slurs, as well as mentioning that “it’s wrong”. This is ironic from a place that has profited off drag brunches and events that promote pride, and it seems the company enjoys just being in it for the money. This is the same company who continually deface Leamington with posters for their “events” leaving stickers and residues over beautiful architecture. Never again.

Two of our trustees met for lunch today and decided to go to Bedford Street Bar in Leamington. While deciding what to order, they heard a conversation between the barman and a customer about yesterday's Pride. Some of the quotes overheard include: "LGBTQ1234+" "Sexual predators" "Bunch of freaks" "Kenny Everett drag queens" "Camping down the Parade" - Warwickshire Pride

Friendly, good drinks and a great experience!

AWFUL customer service. My friends and I are 20 and 21, celebrating one of our friends 20th birthday and the tall bald Barman looked at us in utter disgust. He asked for our IDs (which is fair because we do look young) but he was incredibly rude. He didn’t stop talking about how young we looked and about how long he’d take to do our drinks because how busy he was (there was one other customer). This experience has made me never want to go back here. He was arrogant and rude and made us not enjoy it all. Would not recommend.

The food here was awful, think they need to learn how to make a chicken curry!

Had heard a lot of good things about this place, there was a really big outside space, if you was here to watch the football and it's packed guessing it would be brilliant. Didn't eat here so can't give any feedback on that, but for drinks it's aimed from what could tell cocktails and mundane lager's no ales or much of a beer choice.

It is as it is. The vibe sometimes is cool, sometimes is not. You never guess. Late evening the queue for the bar is terrifying.

My partner and I had a couple of drinks and she went to the bar ordered and paid for 2 more. The bar tender who apparently was the owners son? Servd my partner. He asked whis next, having been served she indicated the chap next door and said "this guy is next, I jumped the queue by accident " To this the barman who'd clearly had too many blue smarties or Coke for pudding, gave her a mouthful of foul abuse. Meanwhile I returned from the toilet and she returned from the bar and handed me my drink. We were quietly drinking, she informed me what had happened and I looked across at the barman who engaged me immediately from 15 feet away with "yes it was me, what of it?" Wow, I'm 50, on drink number three, never spoken to this person who is so insecure and power crazed that the bouncers asked us to leave. We did, confused and with good grace, onlookers were confused too. Nice customer interface. The moral is overwatch by daddy is required over an out of control son who can't deal with his own poor manners and entitlement to treat people poorly, a bully who was bullied and still probably is, sad. Good news is I'll spend my money at a cleaner, nicer establishment, meanwhile bar bully will still be serving drinks. Good luck.

Niall and his team looked after us for a large birthday party in their recently refurbished garden. They did a fantastic job and I would highly reccomened. Thanks again.

Good atmosphere. Friendly staff behind the bar. Fun and friendly atmosphere. Had to leave in the end because I couldn't hear what the person I was with was saying. But good fun for groups and work groups.

Had such a fun night! Travelled all the way from Newcastle to reunite with my best friends! Such a fun night which played the best music 🙌🏼🤍 will be back for sure!

Great pub, a lot going on, gigs, jam jazz Wednesday etc

I visited this venue on a Saturday evening and went to the bar to order drinks. I requested two double gins with lemonade, and a pint of Brixton larger. The barmaid gestured across the bar to the card machine, which was difficult to reach as the venue was quite busy. I immediately got a notification on my phone showing I was charged £35.30. I asked how much this should have cost me, and I was told it was £12 for a double gin and mixer and £6 for a pint of Brixton larger. I said that doesn't add up to what I was charged. The barmaid muttered "get lost" and proceeded to serve the next customer and ignored my attempts to refute the transaction. This venue will take advantage of the crowds and noise to commit fraud in front of your very eyes. Avoid at all costs.

Good from what I remember but it was towards end of night

This is a place my wife, friends, and I frequently visit on weekends to enjoy drinks, dancing, and the night. Usually, it's quite enjoyable, but yesterday was a disaster. I was abruptly escorted out by a bodyguard while enjoying time with my friends. The reason? The bodyguard mistakenly thought I was vaping indoors, although everyone else was doing so, and I don’t smoke at all. I was sober and would have willingly left if asked. Instead, the bodyguard forcibly removed me from behind, resembling a criminal, in front of my wife and friends. It was a deeply humiliating moment. The security outside documented the incident, and I believe they have the name of the bodyguard involved. I hope the management takes appropriate action upon seeing this.

So, this spot is usually where my husband, our buddies, and I hit up for weekend vibes. But our last outing was a total mess. My husband got the boot by some bodyguards while we were all just chilling. And get this: they thought he was vaping inside, but he's never even touched the stuff. Sober as a judge, too. Would've bounced if they just asked, but nope, they yanked him out like he was some kind of criminal, right in front of all of us. Super embarrassing. Luckily, the guys outside saw what went down, and I bet they know who's behind it. Hope the management steps up and sorts this out, 'cause that was just not cool.

Went on Saturday night. Had a really good band playing and was busy without being crazy. Age range was very varied so didn't feel too old!

Owner is a nutjob! I was casually sipping my Tesco's wine near the door (had heard the jazz music and thought id have a look) when a drunk bald bloke with terrible skin and trim grabbed my drink and pushed me out the door yelling not to get out and not come back. The wine was nicked by him and I was stranded alone from my girlfriend and friends. He then started yelling at the crowd of people I was with. Terrible service! I will ruin this pub!!

Really great bar with wonderful staff! Spent my New Year's Eve here with friends and the whole evening was fantastic. Special shout out to Niall & Debbie for going above and beyond to track me down when I managed to lose my purse. It was a very busy evening but they both went out of their way to make sure it made its way back to me! Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice evening out, with a great vibe and fast and friendly service. 10/10. Thanks Niall & Debbie! Will definitely be returning.

We had our Christmas party here at Bedford! There were 27 of us! We had the Christmas menu of 2/3 courses, each person was different and ordered a different number of courses and then items. The staff were AMAZING! They coped with the time pressures, the busy period and all the different food orders incredibly well. The staff were kind, funny, patient and incredibly polite. Niall is a HUGE credit to the Bedford Street team. He made us all feel incredibly welcome and he made sure we all had everything that we needed. A fantastic evening spent at Bedford, would certainly be back again!!

5 stars all round from me. Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful and clean. The staff are truly amazing and so friendly. The food was to die for. We went for our works Christmas night out and was not disappointed. I would highly recommend going. Thank you for a lovely night.

Good Wednesday night jazz, and a good place for casual drinking off-peak times. Don't bother going on a Friday or Saturday night, as it becomes an overcrowded Kindergarten with stereotypical youth, who will elbow their way through the bar, Snapchat their shots and bartenders who will selectively serve their mates first.

Live music is good but employees serve their friends first (we had been waiting 20 mins and her friend had shouted at her from behind us) and very overpriced. Would avoid at the weekends unless you want to spend a fortune waiting to be served

Too crowded, spoilt the atmos...but charging £35 for three rum and cokes is a joke....also, quite rude service!

We had a large group go out for a Christmas work do. Bedford street were very organised and brought food out promptly and to the right tables. Food was really good value and the table decorations/overall vibe was lovely. Rani and Niall were particularly accommodating :) Thanks to the whole team at Bedford Street for a lovely evening.

We just had a fantastic night at Bedford street. We hired a globe in the beer garden and it was the perfect venue for my ten mates having a christmas get together. The service of Bud and Niall was awesome and drinks especially the expresso martinis! Band was also v good. Thank you so much Bedford Street Xx

Went to this place on a night out the chap selling smellys in the toilet was very in your face and quite confrontational when no money was given.. mate I just want to empty my bladder not be hounded for cash ...

Dreadful. Manager is absolutely crazy. Tried to fight customers during a jazz night. Stating he wanted everyone else to leave except one individual who he wanted to “take out the back”. This was all being shouted across the venue

Bouncers charged us £15 entry when it was supposed to be free. We only realised when we saw others coming in and not paying. Checked with bar staff who said entry was free. Told manager and he didn’t care, shouted at me, was rude. Asked the bouncers then when they said no he just went along with it. Finally managed to speak to a member of bar staff who got us the money back but I will be reporting this. Be careful

Great place to go on a night out

It was my first visit to the bar with the band Last Lesson, I am their Dep' drummer. I found it very Up and bouncing, a great atmosphere with a very receptive crowd. I shall return as a customer to savour the decor and maybe eat too...Really enjoyed my experience 👌🥁🎶😎

We celebrated my wife's birthday at Bedford St, having been there for live music and a reggae festival over the summer. Can't thank the staff enough, it was a fantastic night with a great atmosphere and the staff took so much care of us all to make sure everything went well. Will definitely be looking to spend more time here and book again for any future events.

We had a drink on a Friday at 6pm. Way too early for the party. I’d have to go back one day at 9pm and see the difference. Good selection Of drinks. Love the decor, especially the trumpet light.

A night with Dan - awful service with not enough staff. The food was terrible; my cheesecake was hot outside and frozen in the middle; avoid this place at all costs. Dan was late due to the meal service taking too long. Felt sorry for the event hosts; this place let them down massively. Wouldn't visit again and wouldn't recommend the place to anyone. AVOID at all costs.

Food : reasonable quality (burger n fries) but unable to cope with 60 covers for the audience (over 90 minutes wait for some), insufficient staff? Entertainment : plausible but unconvinced Overall : this was an event we had been genuinely looking forward to but have been left disappointed

Rude staff, waited ages for a drink and the staff were more concerned about serving her friends who had just turned up, she then denied it when complained with an awful attitude, asked to speak to the duty manager but he wouldn’t talk to us as he was “too busy” who then came from behind the bar and started collecting glasses. Also very over priced. Shame cause the entertainment was really good.

Don’t bother turning up expecting a friendly welcome. If you ever turn up in a good mood, trust me, their hostile egotistical attitudes will make you wish you went somewhere else. Plus misogynistic. They treat women with no respect. Had at least two occasions where they have been rude and put a dampener on our visits. Won’t make the same mistake a third time.

The atmosphere was fantastic in this Bar Food from the reggae festival was amazing Bar staff were good, Bar was always clean Music 🎶 brilliant day and night had by all 😁

Went with family who are regulars for a Jazz Jam evening for excellent night of music. Beer and wine were good, service excellent. Kitchen closes early if you are looking for pub food late. Overall an excellent experience. Looking forward to a return vist when we are in the area again.

I organized at Bedford bar my Birthday party and it was great. An amazing buffet was served to all the guests with a fantastic birthday cake. After the food, the music started and the DJ was incredibly good also accompanied by a very skilled saxophonist...

Just had an amazing Christmas party at Bedford street leamington. The food was sensational, best cut of beef I have ever tasted. The customer service was also brilliant, all polite and approachable staff.

Spacious modern bar combines typical furniture with cosy softer furnishings too. A place for everyone. Quirky and entertaining. The good was delicious and the service great. If we’d had more time we’d go back.

We booked a table from 10pm, arrived at 10pm and were told to go to the back of the que. What is the point of booking. Very rude, arrogant, sexist members of staff. We were told we were 'the only people to complain about this...

I visited Bedford Street on Saturday night with some friends. With the current Covid restrictions I had booked well in advance to ensure we had a table. Although this was booked, when I arrived at Bedford Street me and the party were asked to queue, we ended up queuing for 30 mins! This really ruined the evening. In the queue there were a group in front of us who were also asked to queue, however after they queued for 30 mins, they were told there is no availability. I thought this was disgusting. It feels like they like there to be a queue outside to make them look busier than they are. Myself and the group ordered our drinks via the app as requested. This started out fine, however from 9.30pm we were no longer able to order cocktails from the app. When we asked a waiter why this was, we were told that there was a backlog of orders. The organisation of this was a shambles, you were forced to order a shot of a spirit and a pint of a mixer, which is a waste of money. I appreciate this current situation is not the norm, however I feel the team need some customer service training on how to manage if they are going to continue to open.

Massive fresh fish, not soggy or greasy or more importantly not over cooked, loved the mushy peas too. Loads of chips

Stopped in for a pint and a snack - arrived before 3pm - ordered half a shandy (arrived as straight beer), a coke and a plate of chips to share via the app. After waiting 25 mins, we asked where the food was, we were asked did we order through the app as the food finished at 3pm - discussed it with a colleague who advised they would refund us. Not a difficult order and if food stops at 3pm it should say so on the app. Not a great atmosphere to be fair. Can’t see how the drink order went through in the app but the food didn’t or more to the point wasn’t noticed which I think is more likely, seems like it was a lack of attention to details - more interested in setting up the seat cushions on the outside tables/benches. We were told there was a one way policy in operation but the other patron was obviously a regular as he was walking any way round - also worth noting no face masks were worn once the staff were inside. Disappointing ☹️

We had a lovely evening with friends, booking two tables of 6 - something we were really looking forward to after nearly 18 months of lockdown. Two friends turned around and the incredibly drunk owner in a sequin dress came over and said we had 8 on a table. We said the two will turn around and the sozzled owner was delirious and so drunk that she then stumbled over, before declaring she was the owner numerous times (not sure if she actually was, didn’t seem like the type), she then kept announcing through slurred words that she was getting the bouncers to throw us out, which they reluctantly did. Someone this addicted to alcohol should not be allowed to own a bar, it’s not safe for anyone involved (customer, barman, supplied etc.)

We went to Fizzy Moon, lovely place but was recommended Bedford Street as a casual follow on- really enjoyed the atmosphere and really good choice of drinks. We were lucky enough to be in on jazz night which was an excellent experience after a year of lockdown. Lovely staff - highly recommend.

Aggressive short security guy made a beeline for telling off the Indian woman in our group for standing at our own table. He had no issue with the staff wearing masks under their chins or other patrons not wearing masks whilst moving around.

I am an Indian woman stood up by my table and constantly told to sit down by Asian bouncer, despite other men walking through the bar without a mask. My white female friend dancing without a mask at another table. Disgusting victimisation without reason. The bouncer would not show me his arm band

Went in for some cocktails with my friends for pre-drinks the other day, the service was great and we got our drinks really quickly. The staff was very friendly and moved us to a table under the heaters when it got chilly in the evening. Highly recommended Bedford street to anyone who likes a chill but classy vibe

After waiting at the front door for 5 minutes, we were hardly greeted and welcomed to the bar. When we were seated, we all ordered on the app, to find that 45 minutes later our drinks still hadn’t arrived - baring in mind the bar was empty. We went inside to ask & we were then informed the paper machine was broken, however this had not been communicated with us. The lady who then came to take our order was not apologetic and rude. The man who then finally brought us our drinks, told us to “get them ourselves”. Although this aesthetic and location of this bar is lovely, this has entirely been let down by disrespectful and ignorant staff and the poor wait on drinks.

Waited 30 minutes in a queue which was no issue and spoken to several times by members of staff and when we reached the front without any warning was told I wasn’t allowed in in what I was wearing and was told no ‘tracksuit bottoms’ when I was dressed in a fancy top and jeans and was made to go home and get changed and then waited even longer for my table due to this. Very unimpressed.

Waited half an hour for a table which is fine as it’s a busy place. Spoke to staff multiple times then as we were entering kicked my girlfriend out as she was wearing leggings despite multiple girls wearing the same. Embarrassing her in front of everyone. She walked home changed and came back. They then gave us a bill for 40 pounds before we had even ordered. We were both left feeling embarrassed and unduly confronted

They say it closes at 12am but by 11pm they're kicking us out... I understand that they have to close down the place but that should be reflected in the opening hours...

Went there yesterday and witnessed staff members shouting and customers, our drinks being delayed by 30 mins and when they did come they came out wrong. Will not be attending here again and I hope no one ever does !! DO NOT RECOMMEND

I had been in there for about an hour (spent money in there too). I stepped outside for less than a minute to speak to my friend who was having a cigarette. They refused to allow me back in because I wasn't 'dressed like a woman'. I was wearing a checkered shirt, jeans and black shoes. They were letting men in who were wearing the same as me. But they told me that because I'm female it was unacceptable attire. They were also letting men in who were wearing a t shirt, shorts and trainers while telling me I could not go back in with my colleagues because I wasn't dressed like a woman. Despite being smarter dressed than my male counterparts. My colleagues spoke to the manager and two bouncers who admitted if I was a man then I would have been allowed back in. Completely unacceptable. No other bar in all my years has had a problem with the way I dress.

Callum, Aiden and Harri, were wicked nice blokes. Lovely place, warm and dry, good prices, wow. Stop being an idiot and come enjoy yourselves.

Excellent bar & restaurant, buzzing atmosphere, warm and friendly staff, fantastic outside drinking and eating area and great food.....the Street Bitez were delicious and ample portions. Cannot recommend enough and will definitely be back! Hayden and Callum were exceptional welcoming and very good looking!

A great place with a good beer selection. Wonderful place to meet your friends with heaters and shelter before we’re back allowed inside! Callum and Aidan were very attentive. Would recommend!

Had a lovely time here with a few mates. Warm and dry despite the ongoing April showers! Staff were quick and empties taken off table very promptly. Deffo recommend.

The place is an absolute shambles! We ordered cocktails and they never came so we asked somebody where they were after 20 mins and we were met with a stern ' they are coming'. I can understand they were busy but that is no way to be talking to a customer. After another 15 mins we chased them up again and they said it never came up on their side so didnt go through.... even though it had clearly left my bank account. I showed this to the person serving us and they said they didnt know what to do ?! We were then asked to leave as the table was needed to fit more people inside. AWFUL PLACE DO NOT GO !!!!!

Worst customer service I have ever witnessed, Shouted at a young child of mine. Avoid this place this place like the plague. Simply the worst pub in Leamington spa. Reported this pub to police as it not a safe place full of very aggressive people.

An incredible place to visit, the environment is amazing 10/10 would defo recommend to anyone LOVE IT

We noted on arriving that the place was full, with around 150 customers seated and a queue along the street but only 6 staff visible. Our host (Max or Matt - the floor supervisor) advised us that a slight delay is likely due to being short staffed and current demand which we accepted. After 20minutes and as our order was being delivered Our host came over and told the waiter to take some of our drinks back to the bar ASAP. The other waiter said to our host “why there’s nothing wrong with these, go away” My friends realised that the host had noticed lipstick on two of our glasses. Our host took the drinks away from the waiter and us after saying they’d be returned in the correct way very soon. Some 20mins later we noticed our drinks still on the bar in these dirty glasses and asked “Liam” where our drinks where. Liam told us “ that’s not my job” laughed and walked away. We stopped our host again and demanded things be fixed right away as it’s beyond a joke now, he apologised repeatedly and assured us he would do his best to sort things. We watched on in disbelief,as our host was shouted at by someone we guess is a more senior manager for being on the bar and to get out of the bar immediately “as I’ve told you never ever go on the bar” Our host came back and apologised that he can’t bring the outstanding drinks as he isn’t permitted to be on the bar and he hoped our drinks would be sent soon. Another Half hour passes and we are told we’ve 5minutes left before we have to give the table back. We explained to “Shaydon” that we are still waiting for some drinks ordered over an hour ago. He demanded we prove that we had ordered these drinks with online bank statement and order confirmation. We showed this to be told “you should have told us sooner” we explained we had chased them up many times and that our drinks where still sat on the bar with lipstick on needing to be replaced. We watched shaydon pour the drinks from the dirty glasses to another, bring them over to us and say “I’ll give you two minutes to finish them before I need this table back” and walked away. We stopped our host again and explained what we just saw, that the drinks are now flat and watered down from the melted ice and that we’ve been told to go now as such we don’t want them and require a refund. The host explained that due to the issues we faced, he could refund the two drinks but would have to take drinks back to the bar, which we agreed as we did not want them anyway. As we were leaving we overheard the host getting told off by “ Shaydon”for issuing refunds and that he would be disciplined if he issued any more refunds. We felt and still do feel terrible for getting our host into trouble for trying to fix our problem. Had the host been allowed to fix the faulty drinks the first time we complained for us; a refund wouldn’t have been necessary and we would have spent a lot more money with you. Our host should be supported and assisted to fix the problems by “ management” and in a timely manner, instead our host was publicly undermine, humiliated and verbally punished in full view of staff and customers for trying to fix something which should never have happened in the first place. In a pandemic it is of the highest importance that drinks be served in clean, sterile glasses and not with some strangers lippy still on. It was also very upsetting to watch on as the host was abused by another customer repeatedly; (being called a gay c**t and a d******d). We overheard the host complain to Shaydon about this. Shaydon appeared not to address this with the abusive person as he stood laughing and joking with the abusive woman who told shaydon that the host is a “d******d” and “w****e”; shaydon laughed. The abuse we witnessed the host take, constitutes a criminal offence as a hate crime and is wholly unacceptable. The way in which it was “dealt with” by Shaydon is another criminal offence of conspiracy to commit hate crime. We became increasingly concerned for the welfare of your employees when we overheard the host be told to remove his coat. The weather at the time was a heavy rainstorm with chilling winds. The host removed his coat but it was clear very quickly that the cold and wet was effecting him due to goosebumps and him physically shaking. We left a £10 tip specifically for our host (Max/Matt) through the app and told him about this. We kindly ask that this tip be passed on directly to our host in full!!We understand that at present it is difficult and challenging however your staff should be supported, enabled and empowered to provide the best experience possible for us customers within a safe environment and to do so demands full support and respect from management when issues caused by other staff arise. Because of the scenes we watched and our first hand experiences during our latest visit and the ongoing pandemic we will not be returning here until management can get the basics sorted (using dirty glasses/ looking after their staff members well-being)

First time here in a long time ! Great food and drinks ( Pinot noir ) lovely bar . Given 5 stars as I had a nice time . Be good to have music playing to create a good atmosphere

Great atmosphere but an especially great service from Ronie! Best bar person, so good id go back again!
