No ambience, couldn’t hear anyone else sat on our own table. Rushed into ordering drinks and food. Glasses were dirty. Roast was cold all round, potatoes burnt, vegetables were hard and undercooked, gravy was greasy and no flavour at all. Boyfriend had upset stomach after having the beef. Awful experience will definitely not be returning. Go elsewhere in Kenilworth or in Warwick don’t waste your money.

Very busy on Mothering Sunday so they must be doing something right. We had beef and lamb which was very tender and good value. I would recommend booking as they do get full on a Sunday lunch, even when it isn’t an event or bank holiday

Went for lunch with family and although it was not busy we all felt that we were being rushed. The table was constantly being cleared of empty glasses , plates etc and it was quite obvious that they wanted us to hurry up. The food was delivered by quite an abrupt young lady who called out the item and placed it down without any other interaction. Weird! A smile would have helped. The bill was placed on the table just as we had finished eating and before we had finished our drinks. The food was OK but not outstanding and the curry was extremely salty. Overall not the best lunch we've had and not a place I would rush back to.

Mother’s Day Lunch. Sorry to say this visit was poor compared to previous visits. We were constantly rushed and only at our reserved table for 45 min duration. As soon as we finished dessert the bill was produced without asking. The food was not good with the meats (Lamb & Beef) under cooked and too fatty. When I asked for a sugar free drink I was offered J2O and Appletise. Not good for a diabetic. Overall,it was not a pleasant experience

I came for the Sunday roast with my family. The price is very reasonable: from 15.95 for a roast. I had the vege sausage roast. Unfortunately the sausages and veggie gravy were pretty unpleasant. The gravy was very thick and doused over everything whilst the sausages very bland and rubbery. There's plenty of really tasty veggie sausages out there so that's easy to fix. My parents had the mushroom stroganoff and roast and enjoyed it, as did my brother who had the lamb roast. Unfortunately, the apple crumble I had was also poor. It was plain blitzed or stewed apples (a similar texture to baby food) with a thin layer of powdery crumble sprinkled on top. There was no crunch from the crumble and a lack of flavour in the apples. No discernable cinnamon, cloves etc We also waited a long time for it to come out - so much so we almost cancelled it. The service was friendly but a little chaotic. 4 or 5 different people served us over the course of the meal and they struggled with what to do with the communal bread and when to take plates away. The atmosphere was pleasantly buzzy. That was actually my favourite thing about The Anchor.

A great relaxing catch-up with friends today. Friendly service and flavoursome food. I had a very tasty fish cake, others said their meals were good too - fish and chips, smoked salmon ciabatta, fisherman's basket, piri piri chicken burger, chicken pate. Pudding didn't disappoint either - triple chocolate fudge cake and ice cream, Panna Cotta with summer berry compote. Good service, good food, good value. I'll be back. Another visit today. It didn't disappoint. Again friendly service, delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. Delicious whitebait and marmalade bread and butter pudding. Again, good service, good food and relaxing atmosphere. And good prices. The Anchor never fails to deliver - delicious food, friendly, efficient service and a cosy atmosphere. Well done

Have been here many times over last 3 years since moving back to Kenilworth. The food has been quite good, but on the most recent visit we left before placing our order! We arrived at noon and there was only one table occupied whose drinks order was already being served. We were told to sit anywhere and our order would be taken. Whilst waiting, two customers at the bar arrived and were served drinks. Then two further sets of customers arrived, sat at two tables for two and were then attended to by the only member if staff. After 15 to 20 minutes we had still not even been asked for even our drinks order. We got up and left to go to another restaurant in Kenilworth. A shame, it'll be a long time before we bother again.

Some what disappointed in this visit,I was served a lager shandy which did not taste right, when I passed it back to the women behind the bar I was told they were having problems with water supply,so why serve this in the first place,I asked for pint of coke was given a very warm glass of 2 bottles of coke, and the way she spoke to me was not exactly great,Now the food mash potatoes sorry I don't believe that is homemade,it was like it have come from a packet and microwave, the link sausage was cooked on one side but looked raw on the other, freind had fishcake and chips 2 fishcakes and some chips, there were 4 of us we all had different things all in all not bad but not grate,2 of us had apple crumble and custard both came out Luke warm, the apple what apple it was a apple puray bitter and runny not nice.sorry but that's how it was been before and it was lovely but 6 out of 10 this time.younger staff were polite,we also had the older lady one from the bar just lean over take the plates with out asking quite rude, must have been having a bad night it was very busy but not an excuse.

We had a most enjoyable evening in the Anchor Inn with our friends, we had booked on line the evening before whilst staying in Warwick, When we arrived we were expected, very good welcome sat down at our table served straight away with drinks and given the menu, a couple sat nearby also welcomed us and said what a good Pub it was to visit, we ordered our drinks and meal it as very food, served piping hot and most enjoyable, a good selection of starters mains and sweets, and reasonable priced as well, along with a good choice of beers. The staff were very friendly and helpful as the pub filled up spoke to a number of regulars who where equally welcoming, one felt you had been there many times before. Good car parking as you approach the pub on the left be careful as the entrance to the car park, is just before the pub itself, large beer garden, All in all a great evening we will certainly return when next in the area,

Visited The Anchor in Leek Wootton at lunchtime with friends and chose the vegan option of roasted vegetables with new potatoes, pesto and balsamic glaze. The meal was completely underwhelming and consisted of a fried chopped red pepper and onion with a few new potatoes on the side. There was no pesto and a tiny drizzle of balsamic glaze. Surely at this time of year it could have included, courgette, mushrooms, aubergine, garlic and some sort of herbs but it was bland and uninteresting. I’m shocked by the complete lack of thought and left feeling ripped off. Not sure how they have the cheek to charge £14 for a chopped pepper and onion. Won’t be visiting again nor would I recommend.

79th birthday meal for a person with health issues , a bit of an issue to stop near entrance to avoid to much walking. can not say anything negative about the food, service or staff attention or attitude. i personally don’t like deep fried food , so to find a basic ploughman’s main was a real treat, to actually find a coffee that is not dark water without taste was a treat. will be back to try Sundays lunch.

Regularly eat at the anchor and the food is always great. It’s one of those places you can always rely on a good meal. Staff are always great too. Very helpful and pleasant….. I do have an issue though. The place needs a good cleaning and regularly. The sills and ledges are filthy. Doors, plug sockets, skirtings all the nooks need a really good dusting and polish. Bathrooms too are grim. The women’s loos were particularly awful. Broken old loo seat, not at all clean and again ledges, surfaces and floor really dirty. Terrible shame to fall down on the cleaning when everything else is so good.

We have been coming to the Anchor for thirty years or more but for no particular reason hadn't been back for a while. Booked a table for 4 at 5.30 last Monday as we had 6 year old granddaughter staying with us. Welcomed warmly by Sean and we shared some memories of years and people gone by. Picked up swiftly by his young team we were served with drinks quickly and the food followed in much the same manner. Good food, good menu choices all well prepared and the prices are so reasonable. "Proper chips" was one comment from the party - the overall experience was spot on and again the service matched the quality of the food - highly recommended.

Ruined mothers day treat with poor service.. so thanks for that after spending nearly £100 with you... They made an error on our table and expected 3 people to sit on a table of 2... and then got told we could have another table but we only have an hour!! Wow what a first impression and on mothers day too. Staff kept staring and clockwatching on our table, staff severley lack basic waiter/ customer service skills banging drinks on the table, no checking back on food. And not even thanking us or saying bye! Really special experience not! Food was tasty enough but should have been for the price, 2 roast potatoes and a 1 new potato though is a bit of a joke. Atmosphere terrible, would like to mention the senior lady was polite and the chef seemed to be polite the only saving grace. When its mothers day might there be an option for flowers on the table? Might there be an option for good customer service and for the whole waitering staff to not be clockwatching. Absolutely furious, mother had to go back in to request an itemised reciept and state that I never recieved a thank you. And to top it off presenting mum with the bill when all she wanted to do was order a drink!!! Shocking!

The Falcon is now a fab place to visit, not only for its gorgeous interior, but also for the impeccable service and great food. We've been a few times over the last few months and love it. I would say there was once when Sunday dinner was not the best but the rest of the time we can't fault it. And the last time I took my mum for a drink, they stoked the fire and we sat next to it with 2 large lovely glasses of red and it felt like heaven. Returning today for Sunday dinner :)
