Had a fabulous experience on a Bank Holiday, service was amazing and very well looked after. Don't think I could have chose better for the family.

Visited today for lunch and have to say was pleasant surprised. The food has definitely improved since I last visited in fact the food was wonderful. Service was impeccable as was the setting will and certainly visit again.

Delightful setting by the Avon complimented by a delicious Sunday roast. My wife and I had the roast trio which was superb. Especially thank you to Steff who made our visit special by recommending our wine and chatting to us about the local wildlife. We hope the swans have better luck with their nest this time. We went today for the Sunday roast and had the trio....it was really yummy. Jordan who served us was very friendly, pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. It was an amazing experience and we highly recommend this hotel.

Great food, beautiful place and warm enough to sit by the river with a great view, our server Agi was so lovely and attentive.

Arrived here @4:30 - place was empty, but still had to wait to be seated however waitress was cheery. Ordered food and drink had a bit of a laugh with the waitress and then it all went downhill as soon as the food turned up, thought it had been a bit of a wait and obviously the food had been sitting there waiting to be delivered to table. Chips were cold, not coldish - just cold, the burger was barely warm and wife's chips were cold, and vegetables were wet and cold - sent it all back - food arrived back 60 second later - same plates just with some hot chips. Eat it because we were hungry and in a hurry to but burger was tasteless, ended up not paying for burger - but won't be returning - they seemed to blame the problems on staff - can only assume that means they didn't have a chef - pity the customers that were starting to fill the place up as we left. Won't be returning and will be following up with head office for more direct feedback.

Haven’t been here for years due to several poor experiences. This visit was excellent, firstly covid safe and very clean. Food was very good most of us had fish and chips lovely fresh cod and nice chips. Nice deserts, good wines and excellent service from Olivia.

Great food beaut cocktails and lovely scenes! Staff really friendly too. Service was a little slow when first ordering drinks but other than that no complaints. Looking forward to going again soon!

We went to The Saxon Mill for lunch today. We sat inside the very cosy pub section at the front. Jordan, our waiter was attentive and friendly, really great service from him. The hostess who seated us was also lovely and friendly. The food was delicious. I had the pork belly and scallops which was an amazing dish. It all came in good time and we had such a great lunch. Thanks so much Jordan, we’ll keep you updated about the baby!!

What a disappointing experience. Table for 6 booked on Tuesday evening, the table was dirty and service was poor at best. We arrived at 7.15pm and the food came to the table at 9.45pm. Whilst we were offered free desserts all round, it was simply too late. We requested a free bottle of wine as an alternative but were told this could not be accommodated. We will most certainly not be going there ever again. Disgraceful. And paid 150.00 for the priviledge. Not the most welcoming of returns to indoor dining.

Was so great to return here after reopening. Lovely atmosphere, beautiful views sat outside and staff were so friendly. Shared some Pizzas and sides between four of us and the food was fantastic. Will definitely be returning!

Going for lunch with a friend after such a long time was going to be lovely anyway; but the gorgeous setting, tasty food, great atmosphere and delicious (non-alcoholic) drinks just took it to the next level - we had a really enjoyable afternoon. Service from Jordan was brilliant (and really good food and drink recommendations!); couldn't fault our first lunch out.

my boyfriend and i visited the Saxon mill a few days ago for our first post lockdown date night. we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to find plenty of tables under cover, although it was cold we wrapped up warm. joe showed us to our table, took our order and dropped drinks off to our table all within 10 minutes of arriving. the food & drinks were fantastic, especially the recommended old fashioned my boyfriend had. can’t wait to visit again and many thanks to the team at the saxon mill for making our date night so special

We know this restaurant well and have been coming for many years, but today was our first visit since Covid restrictions began over a year ago It was an enjoyable experience. As advertised, the menu is fairly limited at the moment, but the location, in spring sunshine overlooking the river and the swans' nest, is magical. Excellent service too.

I like the Saxon Mill and have been often. However, at £16.95 for a burger, a few chips and a tiny bowl of pickled bits, I won't be hurrying back. I understand that overheads have increased and that there is a need to recoup losses (I am a M & B shareholder) but surely you can do better than that?

We went for lunch after a long time like everyone else, and it wasn't disappointing at all, food was tasteful and service was outstanding, Remus was the name of the guy who took care of us, made our day, he dealt really good with my fussy friend :)), he made some good recommendations, we will come back for sure.

Saxon Mill is a must see if you are in Warwick, it s a wonderful pub with amazing food and staff that will go above and beyond to make your visit special. Highly recommended.

The Saxon Mill is one of my favourite pubs to visit as every time when I visit I know I'll get amazing food and the staff is friendly and professional.

My mother has been waiting nearly a year for a dirty burger, my daughter nearly 6 months. With a swift easy booking system our wait came to an end and it was soooooooo worth it. Luckily for my daughter it coincided with her birthday so two amazing things together. It may not have been the Mediterranean weather we were hoping for but with the aid of blankets and oversized hoodies we made ourselves warm. Table setting was perfect - and safety measures (covid related) were fantastic. The service was great - so thank you Rachel and Kelly for being super attentive. Dirty burgers were of course amazing and the pizza cooked as requested - so massive thank you to the chefs . If you want a relaxed, safe, picturesque venue offering high quality, delicious food - this is it. Highly recommended.

Had a great lunch on the balcony last week, relaxed atmosphere, gorgeous setting, food was good and great service and drinks recommendations from Jordan with the fun hair!

Came for some beautiful views and good beer and was not disappointed. The longhorn was exceptional and seeing how the staff adapted to outside and covid restrictions was reassuring. Seeing some of the food that was going to other tables means that we will be coming back, time and time again and we will be partaking in the beautiful food offering.

Me and my partner came for drinks this afternoon and it was the perfect sunny setting. Drinks were very nice. Staff were very attentive while follow all covid guidelines. Will definitely be returning

I had a wonderful meal with my husband after the lockdown. The food was tasty and the service was excellent! Well done, all team members and management. It is also a safe place to dine in. People keep social distance. We look forward to coming in May again.

Great location to enjoy a relaxed lunch by the river. Nice reasonably priced pizzas and fantastic selection of beers.

Visited The Saxon Mill this monday as it was a sunny and hot day. So happy we did as it is a beautiful pub with good food and amazing staff, a must go if you are nearby.

Lovely view, excellent place to visit for lunch and a drink in the sun! Staff were very well trained in the new covid safety rules, felt very comfortable and safe with the venue. Will be recommending to my family and friends and return as soon as I can.

Had a Sunday roast here with the Mrs. Our food was great, big portion sizes, great 4 sides deal for just under £10 with the roast. The building was amazing and surrounding areas. You can park 10 minutes out near a old church where you can take a nice country walk to the mill (although not recommended in the winter). Just some very little negatives - we were seated on a unnecessary off square table which I don’t like, and you need to put a - ‘close behind you sign’ on the exit door upstairs as people leave it open. But all in, a good experience. Thank you

Visited the night before the 2nd lockdown and it was obviously very busy. There was a great atmosphere and most tables where full of diners. Due to the impending lockdown some of the items on the menu had sold out as we were late diners and difficult to assess how much food was required. The food was very good and the service was speedy however we ordered a £30 bottle of white wine and it came from the cellar at room temperature having asked for it to be cold! Immediately changed to a wine from the chiller cabinet without fuss but it shouldn't have arrived warm!! The mushroom starter was a little bland but the sticky chicken was excellent. Both main course were very good and we will return when things are back to normal as the outside eating / drinking area is quite special.

Queued outside for 15 minutes in the cold to get in when we had a booking which set the tone for speed of service, starters and mains took 2 hours so didn’t stay for dessert. The food was hit and miss round the table, fried Brie and pork belly well reviewed but a few of us had salads which were quite careless for the price, bland and very dry straight from the bag stuff. Drinks were good, staff very friendly and the venue itself is very attractive.

Came here for Sunday dinner, prebooked a table for 6.00p.m. arrived 5.55p.m. got seated, everything was fine, more couples sat down, we waited and waited, then the waitress served the two couples who came in after us, we just got ignored, we left at 6.20p.m. we will not be returning.

Great atmosphere with warm, friendly service! We dined a little early (5.30) with 2 children and were met by a lovely Bustling atmosphere. We asked to be seated upstairs and we’re quickly moved (especially accommodating, given Covid situation!). Amy was our waitress and was completely delightful. Made the children feel welcomed and comfortable, and went above and beyond to make sure they enjoyed great meals- even asking the kitchen to pull together two Mac n cheese sides into one portion for the eldest. I’ve not seen them clear their plates so fast at home, must be my cooking! I had the curry which was light and spicy, and hubby demolished the burger, with his new favourite gravy ever! Puddings were fab, wine was delicious, all in all a really memorable evening - thanks Amy!

Visited on the 30th October, and i couldn’t complain. The area and views were amazing, and our waitress Libby was excellent, giving us a cracking experience. Amazing reception and lovely atmosphere, food was 10/10.

Really impressed with the Saxon Mill tonight. A Monday night at the end of October turned into a fantastic evening with a few good friends. Food was delicious. We had steaks and they were cooked perfectly and dessert was equally good. Service from Harkeiran was pitched perfectly and Charlie who seated us was friendly and clear on Covid rules. We used to go out in Warwick town but we will definitely be back very soon.

Great service & food. Definitely recommend. Lovely setting, catered for all requirements and despite weather conditions they can accommodate for indoor or outdoor seating. Fire place is lovely.

AMAZING!! We passed threw a few days ago, it was such a pleasant surprise. The food was delicious and the view was equally as excellent . Catering for all 6 of my family can be tricky but our server joe was amazing, really looked after us and made us feel welcome, always had a smile on his face (even under the mask), he told us all about the building and surrounding area! We had a duck salad & 5 chicken milinease - would highly recommend both, and a big thank your to Caroline & Matt the chefs and can’t wait to visit you all again soon

I went for Sunday lunch yesterday with my daughter & grandson...Had a nice warm welcome from the manager “Dan” & was escorted to our table by a lovely member of staff called “Tom”..Our table was served by a very attentive waitress called “Liv” who provided us with excellent service during our visit...We ordered the “Nut Roast” which was absolutely delicious ( as well as desserts) which were all well presented,so compliments to the chef ( who I believe to be named Nick!!) ..All in all our visit was made most enjoyable by the lovely atmosphere & warm, friendly staff, so I would definitely recommend!!

One of our favourite places to eat! Came for dinner with a few friends last night and had a great time. We were served by our friendly waitress Rachel who made sure we were all taken care of during our meal. Food was great and definitely hit the spot, all in all it was a great experience and we will definitely be back.

I visited the Saxon Mill for dinner with some work colleagues. I was surprised by the lovely decor and atmosphere inside. We were served by Harkeiran who was lovely and helped me decide what to have for my main and dessert. She was also great at listing off what drinks were available. She clearly knew her menu and drinks well. It was a really enjoyable evening and I'll be back soon I'm sure

We are regulars to The Saxon Mill but haven’t been back since lockdown so it was such a treat! Previously my partner and I would go for a quite drink and meal in the pub where we’d usually be served by the very tall Australian lad Josh who was always lovely but no where to be seen last night which was a shame, however due to new COVID restrictions we were sat in the restaurant which has good ambiance. Our food was just brilliant with service from our exceptional waitress Harkeiran who has served us before and is always delightful, a huge asset to your team. We look forward for our regular meals and drinks once again!

Lovely pub. Been here a fair few times. Had a very nice lunch, couldn't fault food excellent safety measures in place. Staff were very friendly & efficient, especially our waiter Joe. (Tall blonde haired lad). Will back soon.

Encouraged by a 50% off main courses offer we tried the Saxon Mill last month, when the offer was repeated we tried it again and pleased to say the meal was just as good as previously. Service was excellent throughout, thanks to all the staff for their brightness and enthusiasm which made our evening special. It was lovely to see Harkeiran again, thanks for the recommendation for the Lemon and Blueberry Polenta cake which was delicious!Nice to have a proper pint too - Timothy Taylor Landlord was excellent I see many mixed reviews for here but both our recent visits have been excellent and we will certainly return.

On arrival everything seemed well organised, we were led to our reserved table & seated, where covid rules were explained well, drinks were ordered followed by food about 10 minutes later, the waitress then in view got wine glasses of the shelves to put on a tray, brought them to the table and explained that we had to take the glasses of the tray as she wasn’t allowed to touch them having put them there in the first place. This also happened with the cutlery. Then after waiting for about an hour for the food to arrive, we requested mustard that was presented in a large jar that was used by others as it fork marks inside it. Also no extra gravy was forthcoming as we could of really done with some as the chicken was very dry. Will probably try again at an earlier time as to be fair, the clientele looked good & it the restaurant was very busy.

The staff were lovely, the food was good but was Luke warm, possibly because you have to pick your own plates up, which I totally understand, but even so, I was a disappointment. also the lighting in the area we sat in was so dim we had to use the torches on our phones to read the menu, it wasn’t ambient at all it was ridiculous, on a better note the baked Alaska was the best desert ever, sadly the chef has no idea how to make dauphinois potatoes, they were awful

Visited for drinks, lovey bar and would like to visit again for food. The only thing I found off putting was the loud waiter. Loud in voice and banging bottles into the bottle bun / clinking and clanking items from the nearby tables and generally giving the impression he’d rather be somewhere else. Shame really. Not very welcoming.

Wonderful place to eat out! Yhe waterfall, the mill, the house... simply gorgeous! We loved the food, too, light and savoury even when fried. And the desserts were ab absolute wonder! Recommended!!

During this crazy time of covid warriors we were totally prepared for all of the safety measures creating longer service time etc. However, me being an awkward Keto diner, I thought that they would be well prepared to deal with my minor changes to the meal I ordered. All o wanted was a bunless burger with salad (instead of fries). Simple. No. I was presented with a sorry looking plate of just a beef patty with cheese. Yes, the rest of the plate was empty. The staff member who offered me this was rude and very loud, drawing attention to me which I wasn't grateful for. After speaking with Joanna who was our waitress for the evening she put the situation right, apologised and sorted the bill so that we were satisfied. Joanna was a pleasure. Thank you.

Great food, good,friendly service. Fabulous location. OK, prices aren’t the cheapest - circa £45/head for starter, main, drinks and tip. - but we did all have expensive steak or lamb, but worth while spending the money from time to time!

We could not recommend this restaurant enough; from the moment we were greeted by the host, to the second we got our bill, we felt welcomed and taken care of. Kelly our waitress was absolutely wonderful, couldn’t do enough to help and continually went above and beyond. The food was to die for and really well priced, and the venue was absolutely beautiful. We sat on the outside terrace and had a lovely view, and will absolutely be coming back here as soon as we can. Fantastic COVID procedures too, continually safe and well-thought out. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!!!

My husband and I decided to book a late lunch at Saxon Mill yesterday. We are so glad we did!!The weather was perfect, our table perfectly situated by the water which was both stunning and relaxing.The service was excellent throughout and particularly praiseworthy was the excellent, knowledgeable and welcoming manner in which we were attended by our waiter Tom. This really is the level and quality of service which ensures that customers will return.The food was absolutely delicious and of a very high standard and we can safely say that this was some of the best food we’ve eaten in a good few years ( and I travel the World with my job and spend a good deal of time in restaurants) The half rotisserie chicken, pork belly and chicken liver parfait were particularly praiseworthyThe wine selection was excellentAll in all we were delightedDefinitely coming backThank you Saxon MillIt made our week!❤️

Arrived for a late lunch. Weather and surroundings were spectacular. The waiter, Tom, was most attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks on offer. Our three course meal was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection and arrived in a timely fashion. Very attentive and friendly staff. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend the food and the service.

The view is the only good thing about this place. It is certainly beautiful, not that you will be able to enjoy it. The staff with the exception of one smart waitress were unhelpful and the manager brainless and inflexible. It was clear children were not wanted there and every obstacle is in place to discourage you from bringing them.You would hope that the food would make it worth it but it really doesn't. It's expensive (as you'd expect in a gastro pub) but the quality is fair at best and on a par with my local non gastro pub and marginally better than a Weatherspoons. Be aware, you're paying for the view, not the food or anything else. Never again.

looking forward to a special evening out but will definitely not be returning to the Saxon Mill.Booked a table for 6.30pm as we had a little one with us but didn't leave until gone 9pm, took ages for our food to come. The menu was also in very poor print so if you have anything but perfect eyesight you would need your glasses!! But that was the least of the problems. The water glass was dirty - with lipstick on from a previous customer!!! Bad enough at any time but in the current situation totally unacceptable. No real apology just 'oh ill get you a new one' The vegan grazing plate then had a creature moving around in it and the duck salad had clearly been made too far in advance with the hot duck and sauce now luke warm and the salad completely soggy. We were told that we wouldn't be charged for the meal with the 'bug' in or the drink with the dirty glass - however the bill came and nothing had been taken off, so had to wait again for this to be sorted. The staff did not seem concerned or very apologetic at all. Did not feel like a safe place to be visiting during this time.Certainly wont be recommending this place to anyone.

Went for lunch following a christening. In total we had booked 5 tables in our party as we were fully aware that we couldn’t sit together due to Covid safe rules. I did call up before and ask if our tables could be sat together and was very rudely told that I was asking them to break the law. I was just asking as I didn’t realise that you couldn’t put tables beside each other. The lady I spoke to was just horrible so I quickly ended the call and I told my friends and family that we would just be sat randomly on the day. You can imagine how totally outraged I was when we arrived to find that there was entire wedding party of about 40/50 people al sat together and not socially distancing at all! Absolutely horrified as I can’t understand why there would be one rule for us and then an even larger group can do whatever they want and mingle amongst tables. It was so upsetting as all of my party could see it and ruined the lunch for everyone who had accepted that we had to abide by the rules.

I cannot describe what an entertaining night we have had, started off with some lovely drinks and friendly staff, to be greeted with our starters by a girl who I believe to be called lucy ( as I over head) funny enough my wife was too excited for her starters that she knocked the plates out of Lucy’s tray nearly causing them to fall, but luckily for lucy she manage to catch them, understandably we all thought it was funny apart from my wife who was very embarrassed but Lucy made my wife feel very comfortable once she stared telling us about an embarrassing moment she has dropping food making my wife feel more comfortable. Unfortunately we had to wait 30 mins for table water, which we did not received until Lucy again came over with our mains, we asked if when she had a spare minute if she could grab us some water as I knew it was busy and she seemed a little stressed but she made us a priority by brining tap water to our table seconds after along with all the sauces we kept asking for making her go back and fourth which we found funny yet we felt bad. We then had our dessert which were amazing, and very tasty, we were then greeted by a gentleman who I do not know of his name who was also extremely funny making my family have an enjoyable comfortable experience

I visited the Saxon Mill on Thursday for lunch with 4 friends. The setting is lovely as are the staff but sadly the standard of food is well below average. The pizza was forgotten then obviously cooked in a rush and arrived as a base with passata and a sprinkling of cheese, it was the worst margarita my friend had ever eaten. My flat bread was basic with hardly any topping and the chunky chips never arrived although I was told it would be 2 mins, they were still absent after 30 mins. After calling the manager he removed the Pizza and flat bread from the bill. He was very apologetic. In general all the meals served were dire but as I said earlier the staff were excellent hence the 3 star review. Johanna our waitress was very attentive.

The location is idyllic! The weather was beautiful which I suspect helped! Went for lunch and it was superb. The service was slow, however, but the standard of food was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly but I think they were doing their best despite being very understaffed.

We came here for dinner one night and were so impressed with the menu choices and the food itself was delicious. We were looked after by a guy called Dan who was very friendly and helpful when it came to making a decision on food (wanted it all!!!) really enjoyed our evening.

we chose this idyllic location to be told there is no tables available,you have to book,booked for the next day ,requested outside table, to be told we could not sit by the river as table required 4 people at least,even though plenty of tables with 2 on,we then proceeded to wait for 30 for 2 drinks,made to feel unwelcome due to having drinks only,left after that due to feeling awkward,couldnt even take pictures ,told to sit down, really poor experience

we went for a birthday meal the starters were wrong, we had to ask and wait for cutlery, we had to ask for a soup spoon as we was given a knife and fork by this time the flies had eaten our starters before we did and they were cold. mains came out and we asked for condiments and 2 pints of lager we asked again half way through for condiments as they hadnt come, finished our mains sat and waited a while for our table to be cleared and asked for the 2 pints that still hadn't come. we order puddings they didnt have the eton mess so had an alternative, they arrived and we had to ask for cutlery. the bill came with the eton mess on that we didnt have. they did alter our bill and apologise but i still dont feel it was enough. i never complain but it was one thing after another and totally ruined the birthday.

Lovely meal served by the charming Nikrisha (I think?). It was all delightful. We were lucky enough to enjoy the last of the summer outside.

We visited last Thursday and had a great evening. Every course was amazing. We were served by the manager Dan who was so lovely and friendly and recommended the best food and wine everything was perfect for us. It’s great to have staff that are chatty, friendly and good at their job! Thank you Dan we will be back! (He’s an asset to the company)

Visited this pub during the Covid time. Felt quite safe as ate out of doors by the river.Good wide choice on the menu. Served by a friendly helpful waitress who admired our well behaved golden retriever. The waitress was Vicki who made our visit with her smiling friendliness. Despite the amazing location, this place must learn to treat people with some manners and start to serve proper food that will reflect the value for money you are actually paying.I went there on a Saturday lunch time with my 3 children, probably because they saw me, mom on her own with 3 little ones had the bad idea to treat us like absolute rubbish,the blonde tall door man was an absolute disgrace, took us to a table on the terrace which was filthy and so dirty that he just said: there you go! Dropped the menus on the table and left. I had to kindly ask a nice waitress (with pink hair) to please bring a cloth and clean up the table (hello it is Covid19 times, where are your high hygiene standards here) but anyway that was not all, we've ordered food and I was so looking forward to eat this very expensive WAGYU burger that nearly fell of the chair at the first bite, as it was so hard and so tasteless, clearly this was not a WAGYU meat, this meat is famous for its taste and fat anf this was rock solid,absolutely a waste of money this place. SCAM.

Came out a couple of days ago for food, first time we have been out since lockdown. All the staff made us feel really safe and we will be back soon! Special thanks to Jordan who is fab-u-lous and really made our evening with his attentive service and banter. SW

We happened upon this by chance when we were driving through this area. The setting is beautiful. We sat outside to enjoy the scenery. Libby was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. We both had a starter. My husband had the baked Brie and I had the sticky chicken. Both were delicious. We then both had the Sunday roast and that too was very delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection. The sides and gravy were very tasty. We were too full for dessert, but there was a good selection. All in all we had a great lunch and nothing to complain about. Would eat there again if ever passing by!

Came for Sunday lunch and we were seated outside which was beautiful. Our server Libby was excellent, very attentive and made our experience very enjoyable. The roasts were delicious and desserts even better!! I will be back and would definitely recommend a visit to anyone else.

I had a lovely meal here for my boyfriend’s birthday . We had a really nice food runner who also gave us our bottle of fizz called Annie . Staff as a whole was very attentive and a good meal out .

This place is situated in a great location. It actually has a working mill and the views are amazing. We went here for dinner as well as lunch the next day. Dinner was great, the host took us to our table and all the staff were very friendly. The food was lovely, a bit of exciting take on the classics. The only issue was that the waitress accidentally added the value of the whole dinner on as a tip which left us with a very expensive dinner, we only realised this the next day. Went again for lunch (mainly to sort out our £160 dinner) lunch vibe was also great. They sorted out our issue without a problem. The only down side was the drinks took a bit too long to arrive. Overall a positive experience.

Went today for lunch and were left extremely disappointed and frustrated with the drinks service. Arrived and shown to our table. After 10 minutes no one came to take our drinks order. Had to beckon someone across to us. Order for drinks finally taken together with food order. Starters came After 15 minutes but still no drink. Drinks finally came after starters finished. Waited 30 mins for main course but in anticipation requested further drinks 10 minutes before mains. Once again mains received and eaten and still no drinks. It was pitiful, frustrating and whilst apologies given by waiter no real acknowledgment of the spoiling of an afternoon in the sun. In the end I cancelled my drinks with another verbal apology but no management taking our poor experience seriously. Excuse was that we have a new guy behind the bar who was having problems. So sort it and have more presence in apologising to patrons. Lovely location spoilt by unforgivable service.

We live nearby and have been coming here for years. The setting is beautiful and the service and food has always been great. Today we had 2 courses, the starters we shared were very tasty. We ordered 2 burgers, milenese chicken and the half a spit roast chicken for main course. When they arrived, the clicker was very disappointing. My Milenese chicken was basically a glorified chicken and chips, served without any vegetables on the side at all. It was generally tasteless and dry. My husband said his spit roast tasted good but it was just chicken and chips too. We should have paid attention to the menu and ordered some vegetables on the side... but the dinners were already more than £15 each and adding a side would have made them £20. And the quality definitely didn’t warrant £20! Sadly it seems that after all these years of good food things have changed. I don’t think we will be going back.

We sat inside by the fireplace and it was a really cosy atmosphere. Our waitress was lovely and attentive.Food was delicious. I had fishcakes and the flavour was great!Gorgeous place and the outside area is lovely, it was quite cold as doesn’t have outside heaters which is why we ate inside, but would make a great setting for a warmer day. Would recommend!

Met with some friends. Food was excellent, Kelly our waitress was second to none. Nice Atmosphere.Only negatives we having to que to get in for ten minutes despite the fact we had booked a time due to Covid, also due to Covid they have a one way system and e was by the exit door, which kept being left open, so having to constantly get up to close it or get cold.Kelly did make up for it by being polite, bubbly and chatty.

Great evening and the staff were well organised and disciplined to comply with the COVID situation...Kelly needs a special mention as she looked after us so well and very engaging

Dropped by here for a coffee but after having food envy from watching food go by we had lunch instead. Shared a very tasty pizza followed by the most delicious mini 5 berry crumble with custard, words can’t explain just how lovely this was. Staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait to come back.

Had a really enjoyable meal here. Served by Tate and Cathy who were very friendly, helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and there was a lovely atmosphere in this great location. Would definitely return, thank you.

What can I say, Tate was absolutely amazing. She made us instantly feel at home and her food and drink knowledge was outstanding. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for us. The Dirty Burger was so delicious. Thank you for an amazing eve and we will be back for sure to visit again soon.

We went for a meal on 25/08 and we had a wonderful time with lovely food. I had been out to another restaurant the evening before and felt totally ignored by the staff . The difference in the level of service was amazing. Our server at The Saxon Mill was Liv and she could not have been more helpful and pleasant - a real credit to this business and her efforts will definitely ensure our return. So thank you so much .
