I am just back from a weekend away in Warwick with my partner & friends & stayed at the Rose & Crown. We spent the day in Stratford upon Avon arriving at the Rose & crown late afternoon early evening and the pub was very busy but we were warmly welcomed by William & allocated our rooms we had booked for dinner so he took the time to go through the serving times etc. The rooms are extremely spacious clean & comfortable with everything you need including ironing facilities and even a fan. We were seated for dinner and our waitress was an extremely polite & bubbly young lady called Bella. Her service went above and beyond I would say she made our dining experience at this venue what it was, exceptional. She was very personable, polite, friendly and happy we were a table of eight and the pub was very busy but she made time for us and was probably one of the nicest people I have ever been served by. We were there until closing time, but not once did she make us feel under pressure to eat drink or leave any quicker than we would have if we had been there in the afternoon I do hope that this review is read by the owners of the establishment and that she is recognised for the lovely young lady, that she is an a definite asset to your restaurant. Even after the bar had closed William had told us we were under no pressure to rush with our drinks he too is also an asset to this establishment as he is incredibly informative helpful polite and friendly. We had breakfast the next morning after a wonderful day in a lovely room and again received the same outstanding service. We had the evening before. We had a fabulous breakfast sometimes when you are in large groups staying somewhere or eating somewhere it can be hard for the staff to cope when they are already busy, but this could be further from the truth in this case as great as the food drink and room were to me it was the staff, especially William and Bella that made this weekend away at the Rose & Crown a fantastic weekend for me and the others I was with

We had a really nice family meal here where nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Lovely cosy atmosphere and the food and drinks where excellent with a wide variety of choice. If you’re ever visiting Warwick and looking for an evening out, this place should be high on your list. Very attentive staff who went above and beyond to make the evening enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

Took family out for lunch today, service and food was amazing. Lamb shank was cooked perfectly to the point it just fell off the bone. Table of 9 and every single one of us was really happy with all service received. Definitely a place to take your family for a nice meal and great service.

Very disappointed. Underwhelming and over-priced. Starters and desserts were okay but mains were a huge disappointment. Would not go back and definitely not at the price it was for Mother’s Day. Staff were friendly and personable. Shame as we had all travelled a distance.

The positive from our dinner was that the staff member who served us was very pleasant and attentive. The negative was I wished we hadn't wasted our money on having dinner there. The king prawn starter was barely warm, there was a bit of clear, watery liquid with a bit of garlic and a few halved flavourless cherry tomatoes. I think theyd been badly cooked from frozen, as when a head was removed the liquid burst out and splattered the diners jumper, The bread was so solid, it couldn't be cut with a knife, and had to pulled strongly apart and it was still tough and chewy. The other starters were similar, flavourless and looked like they'd been zapped in the microwave. The mains- well the pies were tasty but obviously bought in and just heated, the chips were probably the nicest part of the meal. The steak was supposed to be medium to rare but because it had been badly cooked it was rubbery and chewy and really difficult to cut as the knife couldn't break through the outer layer cleanly. The vegetables were over cooked and the king tomato side was tasteless and not worth the price. The puddings were no better and appeared to have been over microwaved, so were just a sloppy mess on the plate. We are local and have been to his pub many times over many years. We have used it for staff dinners and personal/family meals. The place was almost empty so no excuse for what was an expensive, very substandard meal. We won't be back again, which is disappointing because it used to be consistently very good. People always say why don't you complain at the time, but if a cook can't get any of the meals right first time, they are not going to be able to improve on the next attempt at the same dishes.

Quite a unique and interesting Bar/Restaurant in an excellent location beside the Market square. Evening meal was sensational and service was excellent. Unfortunately on-site car parking is not available with the public car park about a 10 minute walk from the hostelry which is okay if it is not raining! The bedroom and ensuite were lovely and well equipped. Breakfast was tasty although expensive as items were individually priced, e.g. £3 for a glass of fresh orange juice is excessive and coffee/tea were not refilled free of charge. A reasonably set price for breakfast would I suggest be more enticing. Aside from this observation it was an overall enjoyable experience.

Overwhelmingly mid! The staff are so lovely and the atmosphere is nice, but the food is pretty terrible. For around £20 the fried fish will get you half a fillet, so probably the smallest fried fish I’ve ever seen. Should call it a fried fi because the chef took the other half for another dish. It is visibly fried, which is nice, but the taste and texture are more like a grilled fish. Fish and chips were very poor compared to other places. Texture and taste just don’t hold up. It’s a nice place and the staff are great so I’d love to come back here and drink, but I don’t think I’ll touch the food again.

Tonight I went in to the Rose & Crown with a view to dining. Had a few drinks at the bar, asked could I eat a main course at the bar and was refused and told restaurant only. I wasn’t keen on the formality of the near-deserted restaurant and explained this and was told it is their policy, even though there were no other customers sitting at the bar. I’m here in Warwick for the next 3 months on a work project, I would have come in at least 3 nights a week as I really liked their menu. I also mentioned this to the staff who reiterated their policy. Probably would have spent £70 a night on food and drinks as I do in other establishments when I’m away with work. It’s a terrible shame as it is a beautiful establishment. I left one very disappointed potential customer.

I visited the Rose & Crown for Sunday lunch with 5 friends and we all couldn’t have been more pleased with the experience. The pub has a great vibe with a friendly inclusive atmosphere that flows from the young, welcoming and accommodating staff who gave us excellent, prompt service through a long afternoon - despite how busy the pub was. The main courses were all tasty, well cooked and with generous portions - plus a good range of both starters and sides - all plates were cleared! But the whole very pleasant afternoon was made by the team who looked after us - especially Courtney, Chelsea Freya and Emily. Thank you all.

After years of having brunch here, the last few visits have been let down by very poor and slow service. For example this weekend it took 45 mins and 3 times of asking to get my daughter a glass of water. The quality of the food was mixed for the 4 dishes we ordered. Time to find another brunch spot I think.

We booked the Rose and Crown on the basis that it was dog friendly and able to cater for a coeliac. Our table was fine, service was slow, but the place was busy and we weren't in a rush, although at 3.50 we were told our table was booked for 4.30 we still hadnt had a chance to order our desserts. When the food arrived the plates were dirty (you could feel the bits on the base of the plates). The vegetarian option had an odd metallic taste and on the plate was, what I thought was a parmesan style tuille (as someone who has been a vegetarian for over 40 years it didn't occur to me that it could be anything else), it turned out to be pork crackling. The antipodean waitress was borderline rude and aggressive when a dessert came out wrong. The main waiter who served us did not charge for the "vegetarian" main and apologised, but I was left feeling physically sick and angry. If pork can be put on a vegetarian dish how safe are genuine allergy sufferers eating here? If crumbs from the Wellington had contaminated the gluten free dish my mother would end up ill for several days. I feel ill and stupid, but this could have been so much worse.

We booked for the Sunday lunch and had 4 turkey Christmas dinners and 3 starters. A bottle of wine and soft drinks. The service was friendly from everyone however, the food was terrible. The sprouts were rock hard and had a weird bitter taste to them. The turkey was dry and hard (we thought it was pork) but the roast potatoes and veg were nice. We were waiting for a very long time to order desserts so, ended up paying and leaving. The pub got busy so, the service got worse hence why we never had desserts. Shame as we’d been here about 5yrs ago and it was very good. This time it was for my birthday and we won’t be back. Between the 4 of us we spent £170, not worth it at all.

Well we have only stayed once a few years ago, we stayed with some family in the rooms over the Market Square - they were comfortable and clean and it's a nice view in the morning. If you wanted to stay in Warwick (or a local historic town close to Stratford and Leamington) I'd be happy to recommend it. Also you get the great R&C breakfast next door! The main menu is fairly simple and well cooked modern British food (that includes continental influences obviously as it always used to before the 20th C.) and the brunch menu has some delicious dishes. The pancakes, we don't like - maybe they've changed them but that was one thing that my kids complained about a few years ago at a different peachy pub. Small Scottish pancakes? The Sunday lunch is great value and delicious.

The room was clean, incredibly spacious, and wonderfully comfortable. The dinner we had was very nice. The wine and steak was lovely. The chips were very average. Breakfast was fine. A yummy coffee and plenty of options for kiddos. I had the pancakes and found the portion small for the price but tasty. It is the perfect location just off the market square. A small group of us went for an evening meal last Saturday. Absolutely appalling, both in terms of food quality and (virtually non-existent) service. My rump steak - which I know tends to be on the tougher side- was so tough you could have made shoes from it. I couldn’t cut it with the knife provided and so tried to get a steak knife. 8 minutes of trying to get the attention of one of what appeared to be only 2 waitresses for the whole place proved ineffective so I ended up having to go into the actual kitchen to get one. I was offered a replacement but given everyone else had virtually finished their meal I just had to eat the chips (tasted frozen) and so-called peppercorn sauce (horrid, tasted so much like those packet mixes everyone used back in the day that’s what u actually think it was). They charged £22 by the way!!! Whenever we ordered drinks the waitress would have to tell us every time that it would be a while as the bar was so busy. There was a music event that evening near the place so it was absolutely rammed in bar and restaurant but I blame management for not predicting this and getting more staff in - as I said there seemed only to be 2 staff for the whole restaurant.

We arrived at 11.36am and was told by the barman that breakfast had finished and the lunch menu started at 12. We told this quite abruptly and there was nothing available until 12. We almost walked out there and then but decided to have a coffee. By the time the coffee came to the table 11.48am we decided to ask our server (who had a much better attitude) if we could order some lunch. Of course he replied! We ordered and the food was very nice.. Just goes to show that decent staff can make or break a place's reputation.

Booked a room for our family of 4, two adults with Two children, ages 4 and 11 months. We planned to do a few excursions around Warwick and thought the central location would suit us. When we arrived we were put in room 5. The room itself was okay, large with a bit of a musty smell, not the end of the world but noticeable. The main issue with this was that room 5 was up 3 flights of steep stairs that are very narrow, this made getting our 11 month old with a pram very difficult. We raised this with the manager and he agreed this accessibility was an issue and that he would refund the stay, although this was annoying carrying all our luggage up and down the stairs we thought the resolution was agreeable given the situation. As we went to leave we spoke to the manager again to confirm he then said no refund can be given because the people above him said no, shocking service.

The location in the town centre allowed for easy exploring of the town on foot. The room was roomy and comfortable. However, pthe room was located on the third floor and coupled with the rather narrow staircase, it was physcally hard work carrying our luggage. Parking was also inconvenient.

We stayed at the Rose and Crown for 1 week over Easter on holiday with 7 people. Had 4 rooms. All clean and very nice. The staff from the typical English pub were very, very nice and super helpful. Breakfast super tasty. Something for every taste. The location of the hotel was very good. The only criticism is that there was no hotel parking space. So parking has to be added to the hotel costs. Parking space is only 5 minutes away on foot. We also ate three times in the hotel. Super great and very tasty. Once we even spontaneously got a separate room for ourselves and our English friends/family. There were 12 of us together. Everything fine. Anyone who loves English flair will love this hotel. We would come back on a next visit.

This was a fantastic gastropub for drinking, with a beautiful style including the windows! Counter is well-presented, staff were friendly and the outside seating has pretty views. I enjoyed a pint of Heineken, sitting comfortably at a suitably clean table!

Always a big fan of Peachs Pubs, but they lost the plot today. Lack lustre service and filthy dining chair upholstery. What's the point of getting dressed for Sunday lunch to sit on badly soiled chairs (I did search for a clean one) ! A bit of training and cleaning overdue.

We have just had a terrible 2 night stay at the Rose & Crown. Our room number 6 was dreadful, the smell within the room was appalling. I complained initially that the room smelt of dog’s. We were offered a chance to move rooms but to a much smaller one. We decided not to change rooms given the actual reason for our stay was to join a family party in Warwick and that we would not be spending much time in the room. However the 2nd night was much worse, the smell of sewage in the bathroom was disgusting. Never again!!

Such a cute place and rooms! Beautifully located in the centre of 'Oldy-Worldy' Warwick. Has a huge amount of nice pubs, restaurants, cafes nearby. Big Sainsbury's round the corner. Parking outside and also electric car chargers directly outside the accommodation.

We were celebrating and wanted an experience. We went for the tasting menu. Whilst the food tasted good with nice presentation, the whole experience really let it down. There was no atmosphere, it was very loud due to the high ceilings and hard floor, it was difficult to understand what the waiters were saying about what we were eating (we are under 40years old and don't have hearing issues!). Luckily we had taken a photo of the menu so could refer back to that. The majority of the staff were stony faced, didn't look like they wanted to be there and it didn't feel very friendly. They did a good job at placing the food and clearing the table but for the price, the experience really let this down. It needs a host, someone who looks to ensure guests are relaxed and welcomed. I couldn't tell who was a manager v's who was a waiter, there were plenty of staff but even after a spillage (over a guest), the apologies and rush to help him clear a sauce off his suit was absent. We didn't get asked if we wanted more drinks. Overall food was nice, but not as good as we were hoping and have experienced elsewhere. Boring bread, no flavoured butters, ice cream served on a warm dish so it had half melted by the time it arrived - not what is expected when spending that amount of money. Green beans so over-done we couldn't even stab them as they came apart. Quite a let-down when spending over £300 on 2 people with no alcohol!

We celebrated our wedding at The Saxon Mill and could not have been happier with the service and how the day went. Katie, our wedding organiser, was outstanding and we were able to trust her to make sure the day flowed smoothly. We had the two course dinner for ourselves and guests and we were really impressed with the quality and level of service. Totally recommend. It's also been refurbished and looks amazing.

The Falcon is now a fab place to visit, not only for its gorgeous interior, but also for the impeccable service and great food. We've been a few times over the last few months and love it. I would say there was once when Sunday dinner was not the best but the rest of the time we can't fault it. And the last time I took my mum for a drink, they stoked the fire and we sat next to it with 2 large lovely glasses of red and it felt like heaven. Returning today for Sunday dinner :)

No ambience, couldn’t hear anyone else sat on our own table. Rushed into ordering drinks and food. Glasses were dirty. Roast was cold all round, potatoes burnt, vegetables were hard and undercooked, gravy was greasy and no flavour at all. Boyfriend had upset stomach after having the beef. Awful experience will definitely not be returning. Go elsewhere in Kenilworth or in Warwick don’t waste your money.
