Ruchita Restaurant & Take Away - Earlswood in Reigate and Banstead

The food quality has declined massively in this place. The curry sauces are not as good as they used to be, the amount of meat in the currys is very small. Service was good, the place is still ok but the modern take on decoration is not as nice as the traditional feel it had before.

Worst lamb dhansak I’ve ever had,big slabs of meat which was like leather and flavourless .

Great food great service great atmosphere exceptionally clean first time at this restaurant and is definitely my go to Indian from now on very reasonable priced

I love this restaurant normally but going in the other day, my word was my Dhansak hot, much hotter than normal, and it was also quite bland, not really sure what’s going on with my favourite restaurant I hope it’s a one off!!

Chicken was extremely dry in both meals…. My husbands was worse really hard for him to eat

Quick delivery but food was disappointing in terms of taste, quality and portion sizes. No sauces with bhajis. Very basic and underwhelming.

First visit here and recieved a very warm welcome. The restaurant has a lovely feel with a calm but good atmosphere. Uncomplicated menu, attentive service and absolutely delicious food served piping hot. Apparently the chef has been with them for a number of years and this showed in the quality of the dishes. Couldn't fault it. Will definitely be returning.!

Fantastic food served in a brilliant atmosphere. I have been going to Ruchita since approx. 1985. In that time I have seen it have growing pains but throughout that time it has served up consistently good food with a very unique style of service. It’s been a while since I have been there but yesterday’s visit was top notch. Excellent experience. Would thoroughly recommend anyone to enjoy their hospitality! Long may it last.

New customer and will never order food from here again. ordered at 19.56 and didn't receive till 21:30. when turned up food was lukewarm and both dishes tasted the same but should have been different curry's. Wouldn't recommend to anyone unless you like lukewarm food or don't know much about curries.

Recent lack of flavour the past few months. Have ordered a couple of times recently and I’m sad to say that we won’t be ordering again after years of regular ordering.

Worse Indian take away I’ve ever had. Paneer was like water and way too sweet. Chicken was tough and poor quality. The naan was burnt. The Madras was over spiced. Will not be ordering again from here

Was good food, nothing spectacular, but arrived faster than expected.

Disgusting The worst Indian food I have ever had. I can forgive it not being hot, but there was almost nothing good about this meal. One of the curries was wrong kind, which would have been OK if it tasted nice, but it was bland and flavourless and runny. The sag aloo potato was not well cooked, the sambar daal was flavourless gravy. The chicken pathia may have had a nice enough taste, but the chicken in both curries was like rubber. Most of the meal went in the bin. Just disgusting all around. Worst takeaway ever

Almost everything was perfect although one of the naans was incorrect(cheese isnstead of keema)-luckily they are all equally delicious!

Great food as always. Shame the saag paneer has changed to pureed no with a sweet sauce. Just spinach and cheese please!

I have been in this curry house to eat in and it was good.Unfortunately the curry that was delivered was tasteless and it went straight on the bin. Also they didn’t bring my paratha… Totally gutted.

We used to be regulars at Ruchita but have not been for some time. No specific reason just been trying other eating establishments. The restaurant has been updated and given an excellent makeover which we liked but most important, the food we had was first class. We selected a range of dishes which were all piping hot (temperature wise) with generous portions. The service was excellent and on the night we were there, it was not too busy therefore not too noisy. Having rediscovered the Ruchita we shall certainly be revisiting.

If you’ve not been since this restaurant changed management, do. The food is delicious, the quality is high, the menu simple and sensibly priced, the cocktails and wine options are great, and it’s a smart, venue with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Nothing to fault it. Their specials are always worth a look. We took our kids there recently to tempt them into trying new foods. It went remarkably well, mainly due to everything being so tasty! Can’t wait to go again - without them to enjoy the cocktails and with them to enjoy their growing confidence.

Food tasted ok but was very late and cold.

Brilliant service but all the add ons are mounting up. £3 delivery, £0.50 service charge????? 10p bag????? This will make me think twice in the future……

At last a decent takeaway, but it was at a cost, we were lucky to have a % off voucher that brought the price down a bit. The food was all good what we ordered nice and tasty we couldn’t ask for better and would use them again if a voucher came our way. And would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a good Indian takeaway 😃

I always order from ruchita and normally the food is amazing but I was so disappointed with the order I placed this evening the food was watery and had no taste , I wanted chicken tikka masala but received chicken tikka curry

Missing coca coal 1.5ltr I rang they said they’d send one out and they failed to do so Also the poppadoms were stale and were clearly from a supermarket

Been going to/ ordering from Ruchita for the last 15 years but never again. You will regret eating meat and I don’t understand how they must use borderline rotten meat to have this effect on me last few times. Lamb dansak was so spicy I couldn’t even eat it and that’s my usual. Shame it’s gone downhill the last couple years and annoying restaurant doesn’t open until 6pm when the takeaway is open at 5pm.

Peratha, no thin pathetic pieces of flour and water. Pilau rice, no plain rice with food colouring. Curry was OK, pupadoms were food. Been a customer for 30 years. Very disappointed

Never been before tonight, will definitely come again. The food came out very quickly once ordered and it was delicious. I had samosas to start, they were not greasy at all and nicely spiced. Main course was Tandoori chicken brought out sizzling on the hot plate, spinach and mushrooms. I am so full up right now :) Some of my friends wanted to take their food home as they couldn't finish their portions, that wasn't a problem it was all boxed up. I will definitely be back I thought everything was fairly priced, service was good and food was delicious.

Came here for a catch up with friends while I'm visiting the area and was thoroughly impressed with the food and service. There were plenty of options and as I couldn't decide I ended up having one recommended to me by the waitress (always nice to have staff who know the menu well) and it was incredibly flavourful. Extra props for creative the cocktails - the one I had was outstanding (Bollywood star). Good portion sizes, no scrimping on ingredients which you find elsewhere. The whole dinner was so good that we came back again the next night, and it was the same: tasty food, great service, nice atmosphere. It's hard to find consistently good food and service so I can definitely recommend (so much so I've organised another dinner with friends there).

Not the Ruchita I remember. Think they've changed owners or something, that's what someone told me recently it must be true. Food very watery and bland, completely different recipe to what it used to be on all dishes, it used to be very consistent but this was so different. Sad really ,was looking forward to this. Oh well, I know for next time

Easy to order. Food quality was good. Still quite hot on delivery. Would have liked a bit more pilau rice. Ordered a main & 2 sides with pilau rice to share between two. Only just enough rice for one. Overall, very good and will order again

I ordered a delivery from Ruchita through Just Eat. The food order was completely wrong and the food turned up 20 mins after the latest it should have been delivered. I tried calling the restaurant 4 times but was left with a repeating message saying use their website or continue to hold. The delivery driver said he was new and said they probably don't answer the phone when busy. Complained to Just Eat who wouldn't investigate further without photographic evidence even though I repeatedly stated my complaint was over both late delivery and the order. Nothing on Just Eat says photo evidence is needed when making a complaint. Clearly someone else got my order. To be fair what we did receive was tasty but was not what we wanted. Given no choice we had to eat what we were given. Not happy with the restaurant on messing up my order and Just Eat refusing to look into the matter properly.

Wrong order was delivered. Food arrived late. Was ringing the restaurant for 20mins and no one answered. Ate what was delivered because we were hungry. Delivery driver said the restaurant doesn't answer the phone when they are busy. Apart from that outstanding. How do i get a refund?

Very disappointing chicken curry. The sauce was watery with no flavour and there was a very unpleasant cologne/ perfume taste which made me unable to eat my meal. I’ve used your restaurant for 20 years and this is the first time I’ve been disappointed. Although food arrived on time, it was Luke warm/cold.

Very basic nothing special the naan bread was not cooked very well stodgy the lamb was very tough lack of flavour The salad delivered in a small plastic bag

Normally really good curry from here but today it was quite watery and lacking taste. The naan bread was over cooked and tough. Also didn’t deliver the mango chutney I ordered but I can’t seem to report this.

Ruchita is our go-to for Indian takeaway because the dishes we order are tasty. Also the size of their naans has not shrunk like other deliveries we’ve had.

Fantastic food but what a long wait!!!

We visited with friends last evening and we all agreed that it was one of the best and tastiest Indian meals we had eaten for a long time. Over the years we have all been regulars at The Ruchita but since covid we have not visited for a while. We were all so impressed, served by a very pleasant and friendly young lady who engaged really well with us. The food was delicious and piping hot, extremely flavoursome and very nicely presented. It will not be long before we are back. Thank you.
