RT's Cafe in Charnwood

Fantastic little cafe!! Don’t normally write food reviews on TripAdvisor but considering the last 18months we’ve all had, I think more people need to pay RT’s a visit. Excellent food and great staff to go with it. Will definitely be back!!

Came here on a busy Saturday for breakfast. Food was very well presented and piping hot! Open plan kitchen means you can see the chef in action too.

First time in Rt’s and pleased with food choices and quality.Booked a table indoors as too cold outside but tables available front & back of cafe. Pleasant staff and good signage re Covid measures. Sadly not adhered to by all customers!

Only for takeaway at the moment. Food collected from the desk, hand sanitizer available, one way systen in operation. Lunch was as good as usual, Bangers & Mash, Chicken strips & Chips. Tom hasn't lost his touch! Takeaway containers are of excellent quality, not the cheap ones usually associated with fast food joints. Please pop in and try for yourself, and support local business. Best to ring in you're order first.

Always come in for a breakfast- would definitely recommend! As a fussy eater, I can easily build my own breakfast with whatever items I like so I don’t have to pay for things I don’t like. Nothing is ever too much hassle for the staff! Always very helpful and always point out specials which I am yet to try being so fussy! Although, the specials do smell and look amazing the few I get to see when eating my breakfast.

Gorgeous vegan and vegetarian breakfast. Good service. Staff very helpful. Excellent service. Definitely recommend.

The Cafe on The Corner was full. This place is less chic but could yet become a competitor. The menu is extensive but not expensive. We chose the cannelloni and the scampi, both with a pot of tea, The cooking takes place in situ and you have to order at the counter.

Great local café! There is a huge selection to choose from ranging from your traditional breakfast to yummy specials, on my most recent visit I had the homemade fish pie which was delicious! The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Can’t fault this place. Keep up the good work!

Quality wasn't brilliant. Surprised it has a high rating which was the reason I visited. Quite disappointing.

Stopped for lunch on a hot day with two young kids - excellent breakfasts for the adults, and great service for the young'uns - they were happy to split an adult portion between two plates and change the ingredients a little to suit their whims. With both the front door and back door open a lovely breeze was blowing through which kept the place cool even on a blazing day. Will definitely return.

Lovely food, great breakfast with good service too. Cappuccino a bit weak. My only real criticism is that the chairs could do with a good clean. The joints of the green plastic chairs were dirty on our table and the next.

Visited this place twice while visiting a friend. As far as food and service, this place is great. Had a ham and cheese omelette the first visit and eggs Montreal the second. The omelette was nice and portions were big. The eggs Montreal were very good. Good flavors and sauce was tasty. Coffee was good and service was quick and friendly. The one negative I have is it is extremely smokey inside. Not sure if their cooking vents are broken or just don’t work well but it was immediately the first thing I noticed both times I walked in. With the weather being cold, the doors stay closed so the smoke spreads through the seating area. Besides the smoke, great place for breakfast or lunch. 4/5

I’ve been going here ever since this place opened. The best all day breakfast (build your own) anyone could ever ask for. The staff are the nicest people ever and the food is fresh, made to order and so god damn tasty. It’s the only place I go for brunch.

Great cafe with great breakfasts. Would love it if they could have options for the healthy eater too for my teenagers. Greek yogurt, muesli, healthy carb free lunches and smoothies etc etc would see my family there more often!

Si quieres una taza de café y un pastel de té, desayuno completo o una cena maravillosa, este es el lugar para visitar. Excelente comida y un servicio amable, nada es demasiado problema el único problema que pueden tener es conseguir una mesa en las horas punta, pero vale la pena esperar. Si eres un pelín pequeña puede ser digna de mención porque las raciones no son poco!

Nos encontramos hoy (11 de marzo) con la idea de tener el desayuno, pero una vez que vimos la nic que todo cambió.

Teníamos una preciosa, el desayuno delicioso en RTs. Ofrecen un menú variado y diferente desayuno que hace un cambio de los típicos fritos, todo recién cocinado. Me highty recomiendo. Encantador, alegre. Si hay un pequeño punto que podría hacer si ofrecieron pan fresco en vez de en rodajas sin duda te dan 11 de 10!

A menudo vienen aquí, en particular, para un desayuno que se realiza siempre a mi solicitud. No huevos escalfados que muchos cafés no por alguna razón y mi tocino crujiente como siempre es un poco solicitado. Porque está recién hecho es siempre muy caliente, que es a menudo una desventaja con un montón de cafeterías y restaurantes. No bastante una buena variedad de comidas y el servicio es siempre bueno.

Lugar fantástico, humilde de desayuno que sirve comida excelente. siempre limpia, siempre rápido y con un personal encantador, una auténtica joya.

He estado yendo a rubys en los últimos años y volveré. Tienes grandes porciones para lo que pagas y el personal siempre es amable.

Very nice little cafe. Great value offering a range of classic breakfast/lunch foods and home-cooked meals. Friendly staff who are happy to make alterations and cater for you eg. Vegetarian sausages and mash, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan options. Nicely decorated, clean inside with outside area. Would definitely recommend!

Always have an excellent meal at RT's go there regularly with friends or family. All food excellently cooked very friendly staff and will accommodate any combination. Favorites are ham eggs and chips and all day breakfasts

Went in to have a meal with my girlfriend. Both had sandwiches and a side if sweet potato and normal fries with 2 drinks each. Came to about £18 which was good value for the amount and size of portions given.

Four of us were staying at a nearby budget hotel which only did a continental style breakfast. In search of a more substantial start to the day, a bit of trip advisor research directed us to this unassuming venue. Bigger on the inside than it looks, friendly staff greeted us and we ordered our breakfasts. They were cooked to our liking, well presented and generous portions. An excellent offering at a very reasonable cost. Totally recommend the breakfast here, and worth a bit of extra effort to get here if you are in the area.

Just got back from a wonderful lunch at RT's cafe and I'm already looking forward to returning soon ! I had a homemade bacon cheeseburger and it was absolutely delicious! My wife had ham , egg and chips and that was delicious too . The staff are very friendly and the service is excellent . The menu is extensive and there are also a wide range of specials . Plenty of seating , everywhere very clean . RT's cafe is the best in Leicester !

I often go here for a late breakfast/brunch with my walking buddy after a brisk romp around Watermead Park. The food is brilliant - freshly cooked to order, any food combinations possible and the staff are lovely. It's deservedly very popular - we love it!

Came in here on a Saturday morning in need of a takeaway, hangover bacon sarnie. I struggle with being able to voice requests when ordering food but it wasn't a problem; the bacon sandwich came perfectly - bacon crisp, bread light and fluffy, portion size was huge :DI was thrilled as I was wanting for nothing and I didn't even have to be awkward and ask.Great place, really is. Friendly staff and proper food,

We had breakfast on Saturday morning and the menu was fab. Pancakes,maple syrup,hash browns,bacon and scrambled eggs. Reminded us of breakfasts in the USA and even better with proper bacon. Fab service as well, what more do you need on a Saturday morning. Many thanks to Tom and the team.

Me and my friends love this cafe we go every Monday and enjoy the food it is very reasonably priced and it is all home cooked and delicious and portions are very generous all the staff are lovely do a fantastic cafe would recommend to anyone

Having moved from Nottingham from birstall, I still head back to rt's cafe whenever I visit, the staff are amazing at what they do, and the food is a step above any cafe I have been too and great value for money, there is always something new on the menu, and everything is so fresh, can not fault!

Been to this cafe several times now and it always delivers on great service. Food is served quickly and with a smile. Some of the best food I've eaten, this isn't just a run-of-the-mill cafe (although the breakfasts are fab) but give their specials a go too! Delicious!

We visited here for lunch, the cafe was busy but the staff all had friendly smiles. The food we ordered was delicious and the prices were brilliant. Im not sure on the open kitchen, though this is just a preference. Will definitely return and know ill enjoy.

If you want an A* eat place,than this is the one of the best. Been here many times and will continue to do so its such a great place with very helpful staff. The food has never disappointed. They have a menu but will cook what you want. My daughter and I have ordered strange combination and it's never been to much trouble for them to do that for us. The tables are always clean unlike some restaurants I been in.Most tables are set out in two's and fours, but you can phone to book like i did once for about twelve of us and they arranged tables and saved them for us not many cafe's do that I would fully recommend this place and I and many others will continue to use the establishment.

Dropped in for a Veggie breakfast over the Christmas holidays and was one of the best. Friendly staff too so no complaints. Keep up everything you are doing.

Went for a Sunday breakfast, food came promptly and was tasty and hot. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good cafe.

This lovely little cafe is definitely the place to go in Birstall. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. It is sent from the kitchen in no time at all and is presented lovely. The staff are all friendly and offer a warm smile as soon as you walk in. My new favourite Birstall cafe I think!

The days of the 'greasy spoon' fry up are long dead, these guys are at the top of their game. Fantastic, quality breakfast served in impressive time and for a brilliant price! Will be coming back again!

Visited RT's cafe with a group of friends, had a brilliant meal the hunters chicken is amazing as was everyone else's meal, friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere, will defiantly return in the near future.

I love this cafe. Friendly staff who have a laugh with the regulars and a warm smile for new customers; fresh and tasty food prepared in record time and always for a refreshingly realistic price. You can't beat the full english breakfasts but these guys master the finer dishes too. Definitely give them a try.

Been here to eat on several occasions and loved it every time. A massive choice and varying specials. Staff are always helpful and friendly even when it's busy. Nicely priced as well and great portions for the money. Will happily go again!

Friday morning in September - popped in with my sister for brunch. Warm smiley reeting and friendly service. Full English for me and scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for my sister. All cooked well, tasty and fresh! Particularly impressed with the two minute check back by the boss!!! You don't get service this good in some 4 star establishments! Definitely coming back!

Can't say enough about RT's in Birstall! The staff are amazing always making us feel very welcome and relaxed, the chef is willing to change a few things round to meet your need's, the special are out of this world with great presentation, the owners and staff have got this bang on, I can't fault it one bit! 11 out of 10 keep it up!!

We decided on the spur of the moment to go out for breakfast today. We weren't disappointed. Although obviously busy we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady who apologised that our drinks would take a couple of minutes but within 5 or 6 minutes we had the tea and an all day breakfast and eggs benedict. The food was lovely and the service second to none

And what better treat than a trip to RT's as it's known locally. Haven't been in for awhile as been busy with other things, but as usual, didn't disappoint. Girls always cheerful and friendly getting the drinks out to you in double quick time while you wait for your meal to be freshly prepared by Tom and Trish. Just for a change today we had the Croissants with a selection of Italian meats. (See picture) I added bacon, but this wasn't really needed as the Italian meats really were tasty. Add to that slices of tomato with herbs and you have a really nice light breakfast. Shall be returning for more of this when/if the sun ever comes out!

Ruby Tuesdays in Birstall Leicester is one great place to eat and drink.The staff are so polite and friendly and the team have made this such a welcome place to go.Try it , you won't be disappointed.

I am a regular customer to this cafe and every time i am impressed. The menu is large and there is something for everyone, the specials in particular are delicious. A personal favorite of mine is the pork medallions in a Roquefort sauce it is a very tasty meal and at a bargain price too! The decor is bright and funky and the staff are always friendly and helpful. If you live in the area or are passing through give this place a go, you won't be disappointed!

This place would be good if there were no hairs in the food. Let me explain....in July 2012 I and my girlfriend went here and she found a hair in her chips. We decide not to say anything as we felt uncomfortable as there were a lot of people in the queue waiting to be served. In September 2013 we went again and this time it was my choice as I said let’s give this place a second chance. This time I found a hair in my dinner. As my girlfriend went up to complain to the chef as quietly as she could as she did not want to broad cast it to the other customers all 4 or 5 female workers decided to stand and watch her. This made her feel like she was at fault for complaining about the hair. As we were leaving they all gave us a dirty look and started to whisper obviously about us. I think this place can be great as the food was quite nice but if they were to invest in hair nets and hats like most food places do they can be great. I mean it does not cost much to invest in that so why don’t they do it. Also they need to learn not to stare/whisper as that is also quiet rude. Learn some bloody manners!! Luckily enough we got our money back and I guarantee you that I do not give people or places a third chance. I think its sod law that twice we went to this place and twice we got hair in our food.

Cannot speak of this place highly enough, everything about this establishment is good. Can be very busy at times but worth the wait. Try the Salmon!!

I've been in this little nice cafe few times and everything they offer is amazing, nice service always with a smile. Thanks for looking after us everytime.

Was recommended to visit by someone who overheard us in a pub. We weren't disappointed. Nice and clean. Polite staff. Food was good. I had full English, came up nice and hot. Only down side was the sausages weren't best quality. but OK. i had a Pot of tea. My wife had bacon doorstep and a latte. Price was ok £11. Good choices on board and the helpful staff dealt with my wife's dietary needs. Give it a go.

This is no mere simple cafe. I vast selection of food with the added bonus of weekly specials.I've never had anything but excellent, fresh food and welcoming and warming service.A must visit for lunch if you're in the area and worth the drive if you are not.
