Route 66 Burger Bar in Portsmouth

Food allways great, you can taste that only quality burgers used, polite friendly staff, imaginative and tasty monthly specials, if you to taste quality burgers go to route 66, if your ok with cheap tasting burgers go to micks.

I’ve been using Route 66 burger van for around 6 months now and I have yo say his breakfast rolls and my favourite the Texan burger are lovely Tastes Good quality and makes me want to o go back 👍

I come here a lot. Good food, properly cooked. I particularly love their chilli nacho burger. Great views of course.

Been working in the area for several months and devour some Route 66 every week. Compared to others in the area, offering both wraps and bagels, I've always been extremely satisfied.

Overpriced even charged me for cheese and didnt get it and the burger was tasteless I wouldn't recomend it

Gravemente impresionado, hamburguesas que increíble. Tuvimos la Texas BBQ y el Skyscraper y ambos fueron excelentes. Nos sentamos en el coche y miramos Portsmouth. Nuestra hija (21 meses) disfrutamos muchísimo los goujons de pollo que también eran muy sabrosos. Muy recomendable para una comida divertida y diferente! !

My Girlfriend and I decided to go for a bit of a walk with her dog over Portsdown Hill one Sunday afternoon. We had heard a lot of furore surrounding Micks Monster Burgers but upon closer inspection found there was a rival up the road- Route 66 Burger Bar. We spent a good portion of the morning deliberating which van to go to and after a while decided we would share one burger at each place, since it is less than a 20-minute walk between the two. Route 66 was the first of the burger vans we visited and as soon as we had our first bite we realised Mick had a lot to live up to. The van is unfortunately situated under a pylon and between two roads, but this review is based on purely the taste of the food. The burger was delicious (and locally sourced) and the range of extras, as well as sauces was impressive. Whilst there was a slight wait, this did not bother us, instead it highlighted that the burger was cooked and constructed freshly made to order. They say you can get your kicks on Route 66 and that’s because the burgers here taste great.

The food is superb, locally sourced fresh meat that is cooked just how you like it. Well worth the visit. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. They also take cards in case you forget your cash!! 👍😃🍔

The hot dogs are well named, that's what it tasted like. Horrible food. Best bet is to go a bit down the road to Mick's.

Best burgers in town!! Highly recommend! Lovely view as well. Much prefer the burgers here over micks burger van, real meaty burger!

Been coming here for a few years when driving or riding through. Probably the best view of any burger van in the UK when the weather is clear. Everything is freshly made, meat is sourced from a local butcher and everything is really reasonably priced.A class apart from any other food wagon I've ever eaten at (and that dear reader is a very high number!)

Our Daughter and Son-in-Law had told us about this place and brought us for a burger when we visited them. This is an amazing location for a quality burger bar. They offer a really good selection of burgers and drinks. They also offer a burger of the day. The burgers are produced with locally sourced ingredients. We visited again before we headed home to provide sustenance for our journey back to the midlands.

Just had a bacon and black pudding roll absolutely fantastic the best burger van in Pompey no contest. If your in Portsmouth and need a burger come her have either the skyscraper or the Texan you will not be disappointed.

A beautiful sunny Sunday with great views over Portsmouth Harbour and lots of friendly people to talk to. The food and drink is truly outstanding and great value.

We often go up onto the hill for a late breakfast.Food is much superior than the usual fast food places.Service is excellent, we usually phone our order through and is always ready for when we arrive.Very good value for quality sausages etc.Fantastic view to enjoy a very tasty and well prepared meal.

Great place to visit by car on top of Portsdown Hill, we often pop in to have a drink or a bite to eat when we are out that way , had hotdogs today that were cooked lovely and very tasty. Also ideal to have a quick snack/drink if early for a hospital appointment. Parking for roughly 10 cars so if busy could be a problem but definitely worth a drive by. Wonderful view .

Not your average burger van.This one is worth a detour. Great food at bargain prices,cooked to order.Fantastic views from their site on the top of Portsdown Hill overlooking Portsmouth and the isle of Wight to the south and rolling countryside to the north.Don't miss the ice cream van sharing the car park.Sit in your car and relax while you eat.There are usually a few motorbikes to admire too.Car park surfacing is a bit uneven but not a major problem. Site is just off the roundabout above Queen Alexandra Hospita.l

Good place to stop, if the car park is full just wait a while as people come and go quite quick. Order at the Burger van and dine outside or in your car. Great views of Pompey , out to sea , Isle of weight and Gosport. Good range of burgers , hot and cold drinks. Cooked to order so be prepared to wait a little while.
