7Bone Burger Co. in Portsmouth

Absolutely terrible - waited 50 minutes for food (on a Wednesday evening!) and ended up cancelling order as had to get to the theatre show. Stop taking ridiculous numbers of app delivery orders and prioritise your actual restaurant customers!

Always a decent burger at 7 bone. They've changed the way you order lately, which I wasn't keen on, but at the end when you're all done it started to make sense. Just a thumbs up and a 'thank you' and you're on your way and not hanging about for a bill or whatever.

The food is good, but it's a bit disappointing how they treat the 'loyal' customers. My partner and I used to go often, but we haven't been in the last couple of months because I am still waiting for my stamp to appear in my loyalty card, after the last meal we had there! And that would have given us free food. I have emailed multiple times the Portsmouth team, but nothing has happened yet! Shame really, I was looking forward to come back.

Best burgers in Portsmouth. The food is really good, especially the smashed burgers. They seem to get a lot of take out orders so wait times can be a bit longer. Lots of variety on the burgers, so something for everyone. It's hard to comment on the service when you order yourself on the app. I'd much rather someone take my order.

Nice selection of different burgers, ingredients really tasty with a good match in between each other, the meat was cooked perfectly as I like and the chips were fantastic. Nice and interesting selection of beers and really polite and accommodating service.

Available to eat in or take out, with lovely welcoming staff which all are very polite and accommodating! Food has always been lovely and hot and fairly priced for high quality!

Food and atmosphere were great, though the music was a bit loud and I asked my patty’s well done but I got rare to medium. Gluten-free buns are available, so you can enjoy a meal that suits your diet. The fries are a must-try!

I can’t say this enough, GO TO 7Bone Burger!!! As an American, I have severally missed a well seasoned, tasty burger and the “Prince Charles is overrated” with smashed patties was perfectly seasoned and crispy. My partner loved his “Ian with 3 eyes” and the “dirty fries” were great as well but I would have liked them to be a bit more crunchy.

Would recommend. Me and my son had some quality burger and fries here. The staff were super helpful and we really enjoyed our food. Well spaced out seating and food came out in good time. Well worth a visit.

Not faulting our server, but it took absolutely forever to get our order. Other tables had the same remarks. Burgers once we got them were incredible.

Menu made no sense and the food tasted like a heart attack, too much salt

Order placed through Deliveroo and missing items again from 7 Bone, called the restaurant and palmed off to Deliveroo, Deliveroo won't help as usually. Money paid without the full order being delivered. Absolutely fed up wasting my money! It's a shame because the food is great but can't keep paying for an order that isn't fully delivered.

7bone is me and my partners FAVOURITE place, the staff are always so welcoming and the burgers are to dieeeee for. I always get the buttermilk onion fry things are they are AMAZING. I recommend this place to anyone. 10/10

The patties and fries were way too salty. I like a smashed pattie burger normally but this left me feeling like I needed to down a litre of water! ____ In response to below because you can't reply. The seasoning is meant to be about 1/6 salt not 5/6!

The food was amazing and the service wasn't too bad but it seemed our server was new as she was unsure but she was still super helpful and very warm and welcoming, however when I enquired about a drink on the cocktails and hard shakes menu all bar 3 drinks were unavailable which was shocking for saying its only a Tuesday. It was my first time so it could be to do with their popularity but it wasn't the best situation. However, the atmosphere was very chill and family friendly and I would 100% go again without a doubt.

Haven’t been to 7 bone since last year back In November and the food was great. Went back this year on Sunday with my girlfriend and save to say the burger seems to be much smaller than what I remembered. Prices have gone up massively and you have to pay for a service charge which you order and pay on your phone anyway? The only service we had was they gave us our drinks and food that was It and wasn’t even asked If we was enjoying the food either. It’s a shame because I really rated this place a lot but I think that ship has sailed unfortunately.

This restaurant was incredible. We were served by very polite waitresses. The service was good. The burgers were incredibly. Probably one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. They had nice soft buns with the burger cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was so good, it was too late for me to take a pictures as I had already eaten it. Genuinely the PBBJ burger was the best I have had in a long time!

Burgers are excellent as are the chips onion straws are not as good as they were very bitty as if made with offcuts as opposed to fully sliced onion service was very good but they lacked a good selection of alcohol

Its a place where the food is good but i didn't like the way they served their food on tin plates and kitchen roll not serviettes plus chips in a bucket and they charged you top prices not good in my opinion

Excellent burgers with innovative flavour and texture combinations and a lifetime of amazing sides to try out. Fries portions are huge and come with a spicy dust which isn't my thing but I just ask for them without. You can't book a table but we can usually get in for 2 without waiting and when we went with a big group the other week they let us go to the pub across the road while we waited 30 mins.

Good food and the service was very quick. Not a particularly busy evening but the staff were very attentive. Looking forward to my next visit.

Booked a table, seated at time, however was left there quite a while before someone came to us. Drinks order taken and then just left....... So we decided to do everything on the app and that was lot quicker.

Popped in for lunch… a beautiful meal. Limited on healthy options but they grilled my chicken burger. Very tasty.

7bone is usually great but today, Omds. Like what happened. I was given hard, dry food. These were leftovers for years. My goodness. Today’s meal was horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. 7bone is great generally but today’s meal was so horrible.

Chicken garlicmayo starters with no taste of garlic, burger with blue cheese the size of a 50p with out the taste of cheese. Very disappointing. chips with cheese and bacon and the thick shakes saved the complaint. Wont be going back. Thurs 30th may 730pm

I have been meaning to order from here for a while now as friend have been telling me this place is better than Merchant House. Ordered the triple B burger (blue cheese and onion jam) and the Buffalo blue cheese wings. The food was excellent and I think they are on-par with Merchant House. The burgers from Merchant House are slightly more expensive but are a lot larger but I really did enjoy my meal from 7bone and will definitely visit again. The burger was incredibly rich and flavourful and the patty was very tender and juicy. I'm not a fan of the silly names for everything but damn, the burger was good - very soft and very high quality. The wings were also excellent. I have never experienced wings where the meat literally falls off the bone as well as these wings do. The buffalo sauce was great and pairs with their blue cheese perfectly. The presentation of the boxes were great and it did not take long to arrive. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had from a place like this. Better than Umami Street food but on-par with Merchant House. Both establishments doing great things! I wish people would eat more food like this rather than that garbage from Kens. Will definitely order again.

Just curiously popped in. Had a Katsu Sando absolutely bang on tasty, couple of Roadie Signature Brew IPA to keep me honest, proper tidy ale. I wish I was more hungry as the entire menu looks as good as my order. Table next door was dripping in good looking grub. Definitely worth a visit. Service was really good all ordered and paid for in a slick app. Music right up my strasse……go here if you can.

Staff are great, Chefs are great, but upper management has messed up everything here. No more table service, no till service, you have to order online. They are NOT ALLOWED to cook burgers medium even if you ask. Don't take cash. And it keeps going. Staff are trying to be helpful, but management/decision makers are forcing the place to be bad. Shame as it was one of our favourite burger places last year. I'd say avoid it till they finally sort it out.

The burgers has nothing like shown on the photos I have paid 12£ per burger and get burger with size of McDonald's sever menu I'm deeply disappointed and I won't order ever again I'm sorry but I feel like ripped off

Amazing burger, extensive menu. Great for vegetarians or those with dietary needs. My husband enjoyed the craft beer. Daughter loved the milkshake. Will definitely be back to try more. The frickles were amazing.

Enjoyed our visit, staff nice and friendly. Comfortable seating. Liked having the kitchen roll on the table! Food was really good! Children’s menu great, daughter said it was the best mac and cheese ever! Good quality thick milkshakes too with lots of flavour🤩

Favourite burger joint in Portsmouth. The lunch deal Monday to Thursday is great value. Tenner for any burger plus fries or tato tots.

The 🍔 burgers here are fantastic, some of the best I have ever had across the globe. The Donnie Trump is surprisingly delicious and kind of funny, great presentation. Combined with the fries, a coke it a perfect meal. Punch it up with a bourbon shake, and you are at the PhD level for your burger experience. Friendly folks and a good atmosphere.

Absolutely delicious food! Was recommended here by a friend. I was a bit skeptical as I first walked in as the decor isn't what you might expect. But right away the staff were super friendly and we were seated quickly even though it was extremely busy. The food. Omg. I'd suggest sharing a plate of chips as they are HUGE. The burger was probably the best burger I've had. Will definitely return

Yum yum yum. Easy way to get a quick burger with a fantastic milkshake.

I usually enjoy burgers cooked medium as they tend to be a lot juicier than smash patties, therefore I ordered my burger this way however upon taking a bite of it, it is still raw inside, as seen in the picture below. Don't think this is how they are usually sent out and may not be indicative of the usual food standards however for a £10+ burger I expect it to be edible.

We have had 7Bone delivery many times and finally decided to try it in person and it was even better! The burgers are filling and delicious. The staff were all extrmley friendly and attentive. Would recommend.

My husband was very annoyed that we had to pay 10% charge when we had to use an app to order our food, a large % of the staffs job. We thought it was very expensive for 2 burger, 2 fries and onion things ( that weren't that nice) We're were given the wrong food and wasn't asked if everything was ok. We tried to talk to the staff, who ignored us. We just left. We will not be back Shame because our son rated this restaurant.

This could have been perfection. The burger was lovely with the patties moist and delicious. The shakes were amazing. The big let down were the fries. Both the normal fries and the loaded fries were far too salty. They might have been all the rage 30 years ago but there is no need now. 3 stars may be harsh to some given how good everything else was but I feel it is appropriate.

Advertised online as Gluten free with specific items listed. When we arrived and announced the celiac the staff seated us before admitting that they have absolutely no cross contamination control. Total waste of everyone's time, if you don't do something don't advertise it. Edit: 7bone cook everything on the same grill. Thus the gluten free claims are entirely dishonest. Yes airborne cross contamination is a risk that cant be zero. Cooking on the same grill with the same unwashed inpliments gaurentees it will happen. If you have a dietary requirement AVOID!

It's been a long time since my coeliac disease has felt like a burden on my friends. On entry they asked if we had any dietary requirements and said they all dietary orders were taken in person instead of through their web order system. After we'd had 5 minutes to consider the menu and get excited about the offerings the server came over to enquire as to how serious the allergies were. He then explained that the burgers were cooked on the same grill they toasted the bread on but that other people with coeliac have been fine. I am disappointed that they seated us and left us with the menu for a significant enough time before sharing this information despite us declaring my allergy at the door. I'm visiting the city with a larger group of friends and we had to walk out as I would not be safe eating. We picked this restaurant for the gluten free options listed on their website. Most restaurants will disclaim that they cannot wholly guarantee a gluten free environment, however other restaurants also employ cross contamination control to minimise risk, instead of saying they can provide a gluten free burger without cleaning any of the cooking equipment. Do not eat here if you have allergies, because even if their recipe is without your allergen, they will make no effort at cross contamination control.

The food itself was absolutely 10/10! Especially the Bruce fourslice and the rasta burger, Fries portion sizes are huge but really tasty. The only slight letdown is the fact you have to jump through hoops to order your food online using the QR code, upon ordering our food we then realised we wanted a small pot of the Buffalo Sauce on the side, we flagged down the server but instead of just grabbing us a pot of it and allowing us to pay via card he then said we had to go online and go all through the stages again just for a small pot of Buffalo Sauce.... Also I hate to be that person but when using the toilet I saw nail clippings on the floor....not necessarily the resturants fault but really not ideal...

Great food, every time! Delicious and well priced. The meal deal knocks a bit off too. Fantastic quality food in great sized portions. Love the new sandwich, well worth going for, great to prevent a hangover. Decor feels quite industrial almost a workers canteen just quirky and with much nicer tiles. The new drinks menu is a bit of a disappointment though it just seems lazy and not up to scratch being given a drink in a sealed bottle to pour over ice yourself, no garnish etc. If I'm going out I still want to be spoilt a little bit and whilst I understand the reasons for doing it, saves time less staff less waste and shrinkage, it dulls the shine of a good vibe treat.

Very poor food . And very rude staff . Come to 7 bone to have a nice meal . But was very disappointed. I had a rude staff member who wasn't helpful. He was bald and not professional. The food was terrible, burgers was red or raw . Fries was soggy and very over priced . And how you order through the qr code is a joke . I asked for help and the waiter couldn't be bothered to help . Food was chucked on the table and not brought out at the same time . What a waste of money and if you want undercooked food . 7 bone is your place to go . I even put a complaint in by email . And they wasn't helpful and didn't take my complaint seriously. I will never go there again and spend over £40 pounds on poor quality food .

Waitress was angry from beggining and we didn't receive cutlery, then beef burger(Donald) was uncooked, we were told it's should be like that while nothing was about red beef meet in the burger at the menu. Person who ate part of that burger feeling sick..

I'm so glad 7bone is back to being as good as it used to be, for a while we stopped coming because food wasn't great but after coming this week it was the best- chips were hot with loads of toppings and sauce, burgers lush and tasty- efficient quick service as always 😊

Burger joint with QR code menus. Food and drinks are ordered online and brought fresh to the table. Ordered the "One Big Chicken" burger with onion straws. The portions were generous but the burger itself was a little underseasoned. A brave choice was made when I ordered a side of onion straws (onion strips deep fried in batter like onion rings). They were greasy and difficult to tackle in one sitting. The meal was overall very calorific. A health warning label should accompany it. And as well, the price was a little high for what we got. (~£15) The dining area is tidy and clean. The decor is a strange mix of pop culture references and antiquated Italian bistro. The service is professional, efficient and friendly, though it would have been nice to be made aware of the NHS discount prior to ordering. This diner purports to serve halal menu items. Vegetarian dishes and burgers are served. Not everything on the menu is halal. A decent diner if you're craving something really unhealthy.

I first heard about this place from some colleagues several years ago but never got the opportunity to give it a go (not local), but always had it in my mind that it would just be another burger place that talks a good game and takes a pretty photo but doesn’t really live up to the hype. 7Bone is not that place. The place is utter filth. These guys and gals know a thing or two about putting together a burger meal. The shakes were thick and flavoursome and almost constituted a full meal in their own right. The ‘garbage plate’ was possibly one of the single greatest things I’ve ever put in my mouth, the poutine was divine (and the best I’ve had since being in Canada) and the burgers were cooked and presented perfectly. We opted for standard table service as opposed to app ordering (we had an allergy sufferer in our group), but would’ve been fine ordering in app. Great location next to the Guildhall - book a table here next time you’re grabbing a show. I definitely won’t be going anywhere else.

Being told I have to use the app to order instead of using a server on the way in puts me off straight away. It may suit some diners but I prefer interaction and advice from a server. Plus adding extra drinks etc becomes a pain. Food was not as excellent as usual but still very good, my burger had a very soggy base so it was impossible to eat with your hands as it just fell to bits. Poutine fries were excellent!! If app ordering is the only option then future visits may not happen, the servers when serving our food were great! Polite and interactive so seems a waste not using them to order and possibly up sell your products especially to new customers.

The service was awful. Basically brought out the meals on the table separately so I'd nearly finished before the rest of the table were served. The drinks were plonked on the edge of the table and the waited went. I had to ask for ice and a glass for my coke which was a can. Waiter with bald head was so rude. We asked for a hand with the app as we wanted a starter as a main and he refused to help saying you can do it and walked off. Then for the remainder of our meal he helped a couple behind us and a table to the side of us. Food was good, but service was awful. I ate my meal annoyed so not enjoyable at all. I won't be back xx expect better as its not cheap.

Tasty burger nice staff would eat there again

Our burgers were fast and fantastic! I had a triple B pink and it was the best burger I’ve had for years (since I last went). I also had the poutine fried which was out of this world. A very enjoyable lunch!

This place is pretty cool, with very large portions and very tasty food. I had the Donnie J Trump burger with Chippy Fries! Honestly, the chips were amazing! The burger was kind of weird with crushed wotsits on top.. but nonetheless, it was absolutely delicious! Quick tip, the app is awful! They will push you to use it, but myself and my wife and I couldn't work it, so ask the waitress to take your order! Will be going back.

General quality and appearance appears to be suffering in recently years. Portion sizes reduced, cleanliness and vibe not as strong. Shame as it was one of the most well known places in Portsmouth for a while.
