Can’t stress enough how amazing this cafe is. No fancy pancy. Just good homemade food. I think it’s more of a tea rooms than a coffee shop. Perhaps a cake shop?? The amount of cakes is insane! I would recommend this cafe to the King. It’s brilliant. So cheap. Plenty of food options for dairy and gluten free too. My vegetarian daughter was amazed at the options. I will be returning every single day for the rest of my life.

Oh dear asked politely that my cheesetuna melt b put under grill again couple of minutes as served tepid....got savaged by blonde fake tan female who told me melted cheese bubbly brown cheese topping was never hot then slammed £6.50 on my table not £7.95 and shouted yes shouted dont come back. Wat a terrible person. Was there also a hint of racism in her sting for my wife is philipino.

Had an awful experience, My husband ordered me a Jacket potato with Vegan cheese and was first served a jacket potato with beans and dairy cheese. After asking for a replacement as I cannot eat dairy or beans due to food intolerance, again I was served a jacket potato with beans and vegan cheese after asking for just vegan cheese. The body language and reaction of the cook in the café was disgraceful in full view of me, hands on hips and cussing. I was treated like I was being a issue asking for vegan food. We were told 'she put the order through the till wrong' to why my order was incorrect twice. Unfortunately this 'mistake' could have made me extremely unwell, I was not being an awkward 'vegan' customer. I was merely trying to have lunch with my family. A refund was requested by myself and granted, however no apology for potentially landing me in hospital due to my order not being taken down correctly. Won't be visiting again.

We were regular customers at the Rocking Horse cafe and decided on this occasion just to have a tea and toasted tea cake each. The price we were charged was 75p higher for each teacake than the price printed on the menu. We were charged £2.95 for each teacake as opposed to the menu price of £2.20. When we highlighted this, our order was checked on the till and it was confirmed that we’d been charged £2.95. I asked why and was told that the programmed price on the till was £2.95 and the menu price was wrong! They wouldn’t refund the difference because they said the correct price was £2.95 and not the price advertised. We were flabbergasted - what a way to run a business. As customers, we all know that the advertised price should be honoured. The manager said that the action she would take would be to change the price on the menus to reflect the increase. We went into the cafe again today (January 2024) for lunch to give the Rocking Horse another chance. We expected to see the price of a teacake to be £2.95 but it is still showing as £2.20. We pointed this out to a staff member who said she remembered us and our complaint from December. The manager said that the price “has been lowered” to £2.20! This is an acknowledgment that the price was previously higher and, as prices don’t get lowered these days, it indicates the price shouldn’t have been programmed on the till as £2.95 in the first place (or, at least, not until the menus had also been changed to reflect the new price). Once again, no offer of a refund. In fact, when we pointed out that this clearly meant that we were therefore overcharged £1.50 at our last visit, the manager said she “wasn’t there when that happened” as if to suggest we were making it up. Again, what a crazy way to run a business and a masterclass in how not to treat your customers. We didn’t buy our planned lunch yesterday and walked out. Most people don’t check what they’ve been charged so if you go to the cafe, please make sure you know exactly how much you owe before you get to the till. Sorry we’ve had to leave this review Rocking Horse but we gave you two chances and instead of just admitting to a mistake, apologising and giving us the refund we were due, you have tried to bluster your way through and suggest that we are not telling the truth.

Really wholesome, homemade dishes and an abundance of fantastic cakes and treats - too many to choose from really! Staff are fantastic. Really polite, friendly and hardworking. Plenty of seating outside too for when the weather is better. Really reasonably priced too so great value for money. Highly recommended and look forward to going back the next time we are in town!

Stumbled across this when wandering around on the way to get some breakfast, and noticed they did a fry-up, so stopped off there. And glad we did! It's a comfortable spacious cafe with free-standing chairs/tables, popular with the older crowd and a perfect place to take a load off for a cuppa plus cake, as they have a great assortment in the display racks. I was happy with the small breakfast which came with toast (that was delivered sooner so cooled off by the time the main dish arrived) and a pot of tea. It wasn't a large plate, but contained all the right ingredients. Although brown sauce and ketchup are available, I didn't see any mustard. Great value, speedy service - will certainly revisit when I'm next in the area.

It is another "coffee place" in Kenilworth. The location is very good, however if I'm looking for a coffee place in Kenilworth again, I'd rather go to another coffee shop. This place has no atmosphere at all. Tables and chairs arranged like a school canteen in a primary school. The coffee itself is just OK, and to be completely objective I have to admit that the selection of various sweets and cookies at "Rocking Horse" is very good, original, and everything is very tasty -that was the only (but important enough) reason why I rated this place as better than average.

We visited kenilworth to see family for 4 days. We visited your coffee shop 3 times( twice in one day) We found your staff to be extremely polite, courteous & professional, full of smiles. We frequent a lot of coffee shops in our yearly travels from lossiemouth North East Scotland. We found the food & drink options excellent especially the cakes! The lime cheesecake was sublime!!!🙂. I was Greatful for the choices of decaf coffee & soya milk as many establishments do not cater for this. The coffee shop was very well placed in the main shopping Square. Clean, fresh aroma. I was very impressed by the " table cleaning sign" this is genius 👏 👌 . My wife throughly enjoyed her cup of tea, not easy to please as tea has to be right! Great touch at buttering the toast. Thank you again, special thank you to the lady who 1st served us, sorry I didn't get your name, you said you had visited North East Scotland 😀 Hope to visit again in the future.( oh I still think your prices are quite low for the standard & amount of food🤭🤗)

I did not want a lot of Tea ,so he asked the lady serving if he could have just one pot of tea with 2 cups...and 2 crumpets. It was embarrasing for my partner when she said that only 1 cup was allowed for 1pot. ...how mean is that. We sat down and shared 1 cup even though the pot contained enough tea for 2.When the 2 crumpets arrived ,there was only 1 plate and 1 serviette ....even though she could see there were 2 of us. It would be nice if a few rules were broken. A lot of elderly people cant drink & eat so much & its more economical to share. Please be a little more friendly & caring. Thankyou
