What a fabulous, pretty place! We came to celebrate a Babyshower , had a room to ourselves , with the most delicious buffet , catering for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores alike!! Comfortable seating, friendly, efficient service with smiles, an absolutely wonderful find, and right opposite the Castle! Thank you Owen, Emily and our wonderful, patient, pretty server ( didn't get the name, sorry). I shall be bringing my 'gluten free' friend along soon.

Called in after a visit to the castle. Lovely welcome from the owners. Tea and hot scones were served promptly. We’d asked for Earl Grey tea which seemed not quite right to my taste buds. The server assured me it was but brought along another, different type of tea pot. It was much better for me. I appreciated that.

I booked afternoon tea for four people a good week in advance. However on arrival the reserved table only had three chairs and was barely big enough for two let alone four adults. When the tea arrived it was presented on a wooden tier that was broken and kept wobbling from side to side. We were offered a choice of four different sandwich choices. Each different sandwich round had been cut into three making it difficult to share between four people. Again there were inadequate provisions for four people as we were given four small pieces of Victoria sponge cake (one was tiny and squashed) and two small pieces of toffee cake which we then had to cut in half. I wouldn't have minded small portions if they had catered properly for four of us. It felt stingy and more like a tea for three people. When the scones were delivered, we asked for plain scones however they only provided fruit scones. The scones were not warmed, very dry and glutenous. The young serving staff were pleasant but seemed overworked and did not revisit our table to check everything was ok. We asked for clean plates which never came. The cafe itself is a very pretty place, however the service and afternoon tea could be improved.

Cakes looked great but were too stale to eat - when we apologetically returned them - the explanation was that they are all frozen by the slice and so always a bit dry at the edges . Not a word of apology from them and no offer of a refund we had to ask . Even then no apology at all . Very disappointing . Avoid .

My friend and I had a lovely afternoon tea at Time for Tea this afternoon. The sandwiches of smoked salmon and cream cheese, Coronation chicken, and ham and tomato, weren’t tiny and thin, but made with thickly cut, really fresh bread. The cakes, banoffee, cherry Bakewell sponge and bread pudding were really good, and we finished off with scones with jam and cream which were also lovely and fresh. This is a great little cafe in a beautiful part of Kenilworth, and it also hosts a variety of community events. Thoroughly recommended.

Looks lovely on the outside but not so lovely on the inside. The table we sat at was a bit dirty to start. The so-called afternoon cream tea wasn’t a pleasant experience. The tea is served in a cup with a teabag and hot water (no teapot) as you’d expect. So I had to place my soggy teabag on my saucer for the duration. The sandwiches were the nicest part, however they arrive on a wooden cake stand which looked very unhygienic with crisps and lack lustre salad placed directly onto this unhygienic-looking wooden cake stand. The cake stand was wobbly with a screw sticking out of the top, where the handle was missing. We got a half a scone per person with the clotted cream already spread thinly on the scone, they were the driest scones I’ve ever tasted (awful) the cakes were also dry, I’d say at least 3-4 days old, definitely not fresh. Overall the worst afternoon cream tea I’ve ever had, and so poorly presented. I can honestly say I never write reviews but I felt compelled to write one on this occasion.

This cafe has been going for years with owners changing from time to time, one thing that has never changed until the most recent change of ownership is the menu which has been brilliant, very extensive, so much choice. Now there’s breakfast, omelette, jacket potato or sandwiches and the choice of fillings is very limited. Can’t complain about the fresh bloomer bread used to make the sandwiches and my son had a generous breakfast. Hope the lack of choice available doesn’t affect business for the new owner but he needs to add to the menu and soon.

i went here today with my parents for lunch, extremely bad experience, we ordered 3 jacket potatoes with chicken and bacon, we expected fresh warm chicken and bacon, what we got was 3 coronation chicken toppings, my parents kept theirs but i cant eat any mayo or sauce at the moment, i told the waitress it was all wrong and could i have chicken and bacon on its own. she came back 5 mins later with cold chicken in mayo , i said i wanted it without mayo as described on menu, to which she said he says mayo , i showed her the menu to prove it didnt say mayo, she shrugged and walked off, i decided to just eat the potato, i scraped it off and ate potato on 1 half, went to do same on other half to discover they have put a potato skin with chicken mayo on top , clearly they had removed topping off first potato and reused it. i decided to just leave as my parents were getting stressed out with it all, never again, terrible food and useless staff . menus need to be correct due to allergies and other reasons, they didnt care

I decided to just eat potato to discover 1 side of potato had only the skin with no potato inside . Looked at website / Facebook page and decided to go for one of their all day breakfast. Staff mulling about but no one came to greet us so we grabbed a menu and chose 2 of their breakfasts. Apparently they don’t do all day breakfasts although it said they did on Facebook and on the menu. Ordered a baked potato with chicken tikka, a bacon and Brie panini, tea and a latte. Coffee machine was broken so instant coffee only. The coffee had been put into a flask behind the counter and was barely warm. Panini was plentiful but bacon was almost raw. Potato was hot but covered in straight from the fridge chicken tikka , looked like a pre bought sandwich filling. Plenty of staff milling about but not doing a lot. Didn’t seem to actually want to be there and were not welcoming. Felt like we were an intrusion. Tables were left uncleared the entire time we were there. All I kept over hearing was apologies for everything. No one came and asked if our food was ok. I actually read the story of the young lad who took over and hoped he was doing well. Hopefully he reads this and takes it on board. I know it’s hard to get good staff sometimes but staff who appear to care if you are happy is a must. It’s a lovely cafe in a great spot, I hope he does well.

📍Time for Tea 1. Pancakes (£4.95) - Homemade pancakes served with vanilla ice cream and Nutella 2. Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate (£2.95) Verdict: I stumbled upon this little tea room which is located on Castle Hill Road (few blocks across the castle) during my visit to Kenilworth Castle 🏰 I was awestruck with the whole setting of the place - it was a stretch of tiny coffee shops clustered together, and they looked like they came straight out of colonial times 😍 This cosy tea room is the perfect spot if you need a retreat from the bustling city as the ambience is so peaceful and homey. The downturn to it was the food 😩 Pancakes were mediocre, however the hot chocolate was disastrous. All I wanted was a good mug of hot chocolate on a cold autumn morning, but to my dismay I got the complete opposite. It was extremely diluted, the cocoa powder wasn’t mixed well and it was EXTREMELY BITTER (I added multiple packets of white sugar yet the bitterness couldn’t be undone). It’s really a shame that the food and beverage here is below par because I believe there’s so much potential for them to improve given the stunning surrounding and number of tourists around the area 😔

Very little care or effort had been made in the presentation.Surprised to see salt and pepper and sugar out on tables as these have vanished in most restaurants and cafés as they come as portions. After booking the back function room for a Wedding for 2 days (the wedding day and the day before to 'set up') with less than 2 weeks notice we found out that they had double booked and cancelled on us. Has Nick the Landlord any idea what kind of stress that is going to have on any couples memorable day!? Have you any idea how hard it is with such short notice to find anything at all available. Most venues being booked up for at least a year! Thanks Nick, nice one. This was in July this year and moreover the only reason we discovered this total f**k up is because we phoned to check on the arrangements!
