Superb breakfast, and superb location for a breakfast. We stayed the night too. Fantastic place to stay too! Excellent base to base a trip on in the area.

When we’re holidaying in Calderdale we always eat at The Robin Hood Pecket Well. The 2 for £20 special is now available between 12 - 7pm, Monday to Friday. Great for us as it meant we could go mid afternoon after we had been walking along the canal side. Staff are always friendly, food is always really delicious, piping hot and amazing value for money. I had Steak and Ale Pie and himself the Fish Pie - both were excellent. All homemade, fresh veg & real chips (not frozen). Dog friendly which is a must for us. We will be back in January when we are staying in the area next.

All of the food was excellent, served hot and fresh. Sticky toffee pudding with lot of custard was a highlight. Landlord bitter. Loved it.

Stayed here enroute from Northumberland to the Midlands. Our room was tastefully decorated comfortable and very large as was the ensuite. There was ample car parking and a cosy bar serving real ales good wine and a selection of alcohol free beers for pre dinner drinks. The evening meal was very good I had guinea fowl with roast potatoes and red cabbage and my wife had a homemade pie with chips and vegetables both of which were excellent.Breakfast the following day was substantial.Highly recommended .Will be back

Lovely friendly staff. Gluten free options...although they could do with some gf desserts (just the option of a sundae..). Most places these days offer gf puddings like sticky toffee etc. Easy to do. The Sunday lunch was lovely (although they don't have gf Yorkshire puddings and there wasn't anything to replace them) and tasty.

Stopped off on a drive through Yorkshire with my mum. What a great little pub. We only wished we lived nearer and could call more often. Mum had a ham sandwich and I had homemade broccoli & Stilton soup + we shared a bowl of chips. Firstly the ham on the sandwich looked like it had been hand carved and there was plenty of it. My soup was Devine. The bowl of chips was plenty for two to share. Mum commented on the state of the ladies toilets. So I went to check out the gents, all I can say is that the lady's toilets must be next on the list as the men's were like a hotel bathroom, slate tiles and spotless. Hence why I have included a picture. .

A visit by a party of four on the 10th of this month. When the meals arrived it looked like the kitchen had ran out of chips and divided one portion between the four of us. No apologies just embarrassed looks from the waitress, perhaps she hoped we wouldn't notice?Another point - what's with all the monkeys? This is the first monkey themed eatery I have been in, outside of Flamingo Park Zoo. Is it funny or am I missing the point?

Spent one night here on the way to Haworth. Staff were friendly and polite. Real ale served! Room was small but clean and bright with good facilities. Breakfast was also good. It's a bit out of the way for Hebden Bridge but they called a taxi and we were able to go out for drinks and return easily. Recommended.

At short notice we decided to book our family of 12 for a meal at the Robin Hood. The landlord was accommodating and sorted out our needs with ease as if he did this on a regular basis. 5 of us had the beef and as I had read the Trip Advisor of a previous contributor I was interested to see how it was. Nothing like the comments made. Perhaps they were from a competitive pub? Good value for money and excellent service from all involved. We will return and give a little more notice next time!

My wife and I have just come from the Robin Hood Inn having been there for a Sunday Roast dinner. We started with the prawn cocktail which we both agreed had been put together with some thought but let down by being searved with some supermarket sliced bread and butter in little packets. Overall though we thought that they were worth the £5.95 price tag. Then the 'roast beef' dish arrived which could not have been much worse if they had tried to make it so. The roast beef was boiled not roast and was machine sliced not carved, but worse still it tasted of nothing. The roast potatoes were tough and leathery, also tastelessThe mashed potatoes were dry and without a hint of butter and milk/cream being addedThe yorkshire puddings were bought in as frozenThe vegatables (carrot and cauliflower were overcookedThe gravy was quite obviously from a packet and again tastelessWe both pushed our meals to one side because we could not be bothered to eat it. So when the waitress came to see if we were finished saw that we had left the food she the asked if we were happy with the food. We told her exactly what we thought and she just walked off to the kitchen. We were soon joined by the owner's wife and the chef (a term I use very lightly) who immediately attacked me verbally. The owner stated that they have been searving the same food for 38 years. When I re-itterated my observations of the food the chef told me that the roast beef was roasted last Friday and left to stand for a day and a half to rset and that the roast potatoes were roast during the previous day and then re-heated. He stated that the beef was sliced and then re-cooked in the gravy. When I pointed out that the beef was therefor boiled not roast he realised that he was wrong and so just walked back into the kitchen. Whilst we were there we could see that they were re-heating food in a microwave. We were not only not given any form of appology but were verbally attacked for our oppinion and then charged £38 for the two of us for food which we could have got for very little money from the local supermarket as a frozen dinner.I hope that you have taken the time to read all of this response and that you will avoid the place like the plague.

Arrived there at 12 noon new years day, after a brisk walk up from Mytholmroyd, to be told there was no food, as the chef was having the day off, but Elva, the landlady, despite only having had a couple of hours sleep, offered to make us a breakfast each - oh what a breakfast! I am not really a fan of 'the full English' but after the walk, it was the best thing ever. Bacon, fried egg, sausage, fried tomatoes, black pudding, baked beans mushrooms and numerous rounds of hot toast and butter. And the cost - £20.00 for 4 adults and 2 children, a bargain! Thank you Elva, will def visit again.

We had wanted to visit here for some time as they have large signs up with what appear to be excellent deals, however once we asked about them we were told that they no longer have these offers (even though they put up the signs daily to entice you in). The food was mediocre and not worth half what we paid, It’s rare that I ever regret eating out but today was one of those days. We had multiple starters and mains, the starter chicken tikka was nice but the chicken tikka with the main was chewy and totally different. The chicken in the byriani was foul and I couldn’t eat it. I ordered chicken pakoras and at first I thought they were raw but there was something odd about them, a strange slimy yet chewy texture and they smelt and tasted awful, this was the first time in my life I’ve ever returned any food. The service was good and the chap was very friendly and attentive but right now I feel very sick just a few hours after eating. Chips and chapattis were nice. Naan and bhajis were doughy and undercooked. Next time we will stick to cafe passion, for the same price the food is many many times superior to this. My assumption is that this place’s bread and butter is from drunks after a night out, just like meenas was for me and my mates back in the late 90s
