Really didn't like the food, ordered a chicken dish, it was awful, really chewy meatand the sauce just had a strong garlic flavour. The drinks are extortionate! £4.50 for an appletizer . The service was fine. Will definitely not be back

Despite being advised, our initial choices were unavailable; we went with the waiter's alternative recommendations. We weren't disappointed. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. Thank you so much We will will definitely be back

A lovely friendly welcome, first class service and food, couldn’t have been more. The food wash fresh very tasty and well presented. Really was excellent and I’ll certainly be back.

Basically a takeaway with seating beyond the grill/kitchen area and seating upstairs. The food was fairly decent but nothing to write home about and the prices were about average. However, we were charged £3.50 for a small cans of coke! The guy that served us also suggested we pay a service charge which I declined mainly due to the extortionate price of the drinks. Can't say I'd be visiting again anytime soon.

Food was decent. Halloumi kebab was a bit tinpot, some of the meat dishes were well reviewed by other members of the group. However, £6.50 for a bottle of beer is unacceptable, would not visit again.

Had a really great meal here before a show at the Victoria theatre. Beautiful freshly prepared salad, I had the sea bass which was perfectly cooked. Service excellent. Worth knowing is cash only, but we were advised of this when we booked. Would certainly recommend and plan to visit again.

27.50 for a hot meze starter for 2... overpriced for what it was! Main meal: the meat was average at best! After reading reviews we were looking forward to our meal but we were left disappointed. Expensive for what it was, bread and salad largely.

We went here for a meal before going to Victoria Theatre. We have been before years ago. It was lovely. We were looked after, we booked a table down stairs as mobility issues. To say small space downstairs didn't feel cramped. The seats were comfy to sit on. The food was lovely, decent portions. Intact to many chips for both of us. First time having Turkish beer and was lovely. Bit surprised cash only and luckily I had enough to pay the bill.

Really nice food and large portions. Service slow l. Could not give 5 starts as 10% service charge added to bill. No mention on menu. Normally leave tips but pet hate for service charges to be added which prior knowledge Small grip also, menu pricing do not reflect cafe prices quite a large difference. Really need to advertise takeaway and cafe prices.

I visited Cafe Passion on Thursday evening with my wife and my inlaws. We had been to Shibden Hall and the Piece Hall and decided to eat locally in Halifax before returning home to Barnsley. I'm so glad that we chose Cafe Passion as the food was tremendous. Some of the best Turkish food I've ever had, and I've ate in Stoke Newington in London (a hotspot for Turkish food). The Pide was out of this world, light yet crunchy base and a generous amount of topping. My wife and her sister enjoyed their steaks and my brother in law said his Chicken Doner Kebab was the best kebab he'd ever ate. We were served by a lovely young lady named Olivia who was friendly and very professional, she will go a long way in the hospitality business. The food was so good that we've already planned to go back again later this summer. 10 out of 10!

Visited here as a last minute thing and I'm so glad we did. The food was incredible and so much of it too. Only one guy cooking it looked like and he was doing an amazing job as it was quite busy. We were served fast and the staff were friendly. The price was really reasonable too. If I'm ever in Halifax again I will be coming back here.

Amazing food - We ordered the Passion meal for 4 with Passion Special main courses - the meze starter was beautiful, such a variety of food - the main course was as good, very tasty, the lamb was succulent - deserts were also gorgeous ! Don’t hesitate ordering you won’t be disappointed

New made a £60 order and we were really looking forward to Salmon on a bed of rice and various other dishes but were extremely dissatisfied with food we received. The Salmon was burnt and hard, the sea bass was awful and my daughters chicken was rock hard. All the food was shoved on top of horrible cardboard like chips that were totally inedible. The humous was the only item, which we could eat. We were told cash only when we got there and had to drive home to get some cash.We ate a tiny amount of the food as we were starving and had to throw about 80% of it away .

I went to order food for New Year’s Eve and my bill was around £37:50 and I gave them £40 and sed keep the change and have good new year and guess what it was the worst food I ever had in my 40 years of my life I’ve ordered 2 passion specials and went home to get a phone call for collections and soon as I went home they rang me and they sed your order it’s ready they had prepared about a week or so early all PASSION SLECIALS and they just heated on microwave and they served to me so shame on them to do that to a regular customer it’s not about £40 but it’s about my new year take away treat and it was disgusting please keep away from this guys they are there to scam they don’t care what they serve .

We've eaten here/got take out so many times and every time its been perfect with nothing to fault.Prices are amazing and the portions insane!Recently used their online ordering service due to COVID19 and received a call back as soon as I'd placed the order saying that they would put fresh doner on especially for the order!!!!Can't recommend them enough, if you're near or in Halifax it's definitely worth a visit. Hidden gem.

I've lived around the corner from Cafe Passion for just over a year and the smells alone deserve a 5 star review! I first visited for a meal with my parents and we were all thrilled to discover I had such a gem on the doorstep. The food is consistently amazing, whether dining in or ordering as a takeaway - believe me, I've done plenty of both this year... The food is fast and fresh, and the portions are generous. I've mostly stuck to vegetarian options (give the Vegetarian Pide a go and you'll never look back), but visits with both vegetarians and carnivores have been equally well received. The staff are efficient and friendly - I really can't fault it here.

Now that Cafe Passion has reopened following the lockdown it has been great to return to one of my favourite small restaurant's. Food quality and service just as l remember. Been several times this month to make up for the long absence.

This is the first time I’ve been to cafe passion. IT WILL NOT BE MY LAST! Oh my goodness, the food is amazing! It’s so tasty, fresh, food presented beautifully, even for a kebab! The kebab isn’t your typical takeaway kebab plopped on a naan bread but instead laid on the tastiest rice that I’ve ever had. (BEST KEBAB EVER!) They asked us if we wanted some lovely warm Pitta which they brought out too. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. The calamari melted in your mouth and the coating was incredible. Everything is just so fresh and tasty. The garlic mushrooms were a taste sensation and the mixed kebab was beautiful. The rice that came with it (I believe Turkish bulgar pilaf) according to the internet, was one of my favourite parts of the kebab! With 50% it was amazing value for money but I will be going back and paying full price happily! Friendly, hard working staff. Can’t say enough. Cafe passion has left a lasting impression!Pictures don’t do the food justice.

went last night for a treat out, it wasn't our first choice, one was being refurbished another fullly booked so we came here. Seating was not two meters away but as it's a small space it was quite understandable, only 3 parties in with us. Staff ok, waiter considerate and tried to keep apart although difficult when bringing the food, we had a mixed cold starter which was good but id we had known how much we would have had a much smaller mains. No childrens menu so grand daughter's food was too much same for the adults but they provided a doggy bag so we could take it home. I thought it was quite expensive, we had no drinks just a fruit juice for child. the food was delicious, no complaints about it except we ordered too much, we will know next time.

Hmmm even with a 50% off we spent £23 each .. on a dinner.. madness. Foods good, sauces are rubbish. A kind 4/5

Great food and service. We had the ‘Passion Special’ , ‘fajitas’ and ‘Real Donner’ - all of which were delicious, plates FULL of freshly cooked food. Even better value as part of the ‘Eat Out to Help’ scheme but we will be going back again when the scheme is over.

Had lunch here yesterday and it was absolutely beautiful, as always. The food was amazing as was the service. The staff are so helpful and friendly. In regards to the review below, we didn’t have one issue with social distancing. There were more people in than us and it wasn’t a problem at all, tables were spaced apart. I think if people aren’t comfortable fully with eating out and are weary then they should stay at home and get take out!! Simple.

My first night out with my wife in 17 weeks to celebrate my late mother’s birthday and we were overwhelmed by the complete lack of social distancing. We raised our concerns with the staff and we were gobsmacked when one of their team said they don’t believe the media! They offered to waive out bill instantly however that wasn’t our objective. The food was fantastic as always however the complete disregard for anyone’s wellbeing was horrendous! We paid our bill and we absolutely will be reporting them to environmental health. The management is weak to say the least.

One of Halifax town centres hidden gems. We have just had an amazing takeaway meal from here, all meals came with an great side salad full of vegetables and pasta with great dips too... I can highly recommend a trip to Cafe Passion.

I go here once a week minimum for a top feed. Food is consistently delicious. I order to take away for my family. Partner and two little kids, plenty of options and the food is ready upon your arrival (20 minutes no matter the size of the order). You pay for what you get, excellent quality.

We had the most wonderful kebabs here last night amazing Turkish food well worth a visit. Service was fabulous and the baklava was the best we have had.

An unassuming, quirky, almost hidden place, where you get great service and great food. This restaurant is in a house which might feel a bit odd. The bath is still there in the bathroom. There are tables downstairs and upstairs, maybe try and get downstairs if you can.The food was really good with good portion sizes.

Wish I could eat here EVERY night! I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! I ate here with some family members just a couple nights ago and enjoyed it very much.

You will never stumble across this place even though it’s in the centre of Halifax. The food was amazing and at a really good price. We had a sautéed prawn starter and ‘Passion Special’ kebab and Aubergine main course. All the food was amazing and the service was faultless. Only downside is downstairs is very small so the many folk collecting take-always or waiting for tables encroach on your tables! We will definitely go here again but ask to sit upstairs. We will also use the takeaway service.

We have been to Cafe Passion many times and the food is always excellent and good value. I don't understand the reviews which say it is expensive it is pretty cheap for the portion sizes which include plenty of meat. This is our vaforite restaurant for quick service and tasty food

I had a chicken shish and my husband had chicken and lamb shish. The meat was quite bland and didn't have the chargrilled taste or any hint of marinade flavour that I was expecting but the salad, bulgar wheat and sauces were ok. The menu also states that each dish comes with a pitta bread - they only brought us one out so we had to ask for the other one. I also think it's a bit pricey for what you get and the waitress didn't look too please when we didn't leave a tip.

Stopped in for lunch with my father in law , staff friendly and efficient . Very healthy menu , I had the chicken kebab , came with salad and pita bread , a very filling and healthy meal . The house red wine was very nice . We will be back to try something else .

Came here today with my brother who assured me the food we ate today was absolutely authentic and just as fresh as the food he's eaten in Turkey. My halloumi starter was gorgeous. I chose the kofte kebabs for mains with chips and onion rings for side dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious and the portion sizes are very generous! The service was brilliant. Would definitely come here again!

Came here on a hot summers afternoon, seating outside full but luckily got a table inside. Large menu I opted for the chicken doner. That was tasty but what really mde the dish was the bulgar wheat, sauces and salads included, so tasty!! It came with warm pitta. Couldn't eat it all so was able to take the rest away. A relaxing and friendly place with brilliant staff, I will definitely return. It would be great uf there was a mixed meze for one, that would be my next choice

Cafe Passion is a small family run business in Halifax (just next to the bowling alley if your local) There are approx 15 tables inside the resurant and 3 tables outside. On this occasion (the warmest day of the year!.. So far!) my chap and I decided to sit outside. We were greated by some fantastic smells wafting out of the door and a rather cheerful young lady who showed us to our table. We ordered a beer and perused the menu. Lots of delicious items were on there but we decided to choose the lambs liver and Turkish Sausage for starters. This came with warm home made pitta and didn't disappoint. We swapped half way through so we both had a bit of each and both were yummy. (I actually think mine was the best "liver" but don't tell him!) our main arrived very shortly after and again this was wonderful. We both ordered the special mixed grill. Our server thought it might have been to much for me but I wasn't going to be out done and gave it my best shot! All the meat was tender and jucy (even the lamb) and the accompanying rice, sauces and pita were tasty as. We had another couple of Turkish beers throughout the meal and quite rightly decided against a desert.. I was too full (insert piggy emoji) and we had plans for a couple of cocktails later on! We both had a fantastic evening and felt like we were abroad on holiday! We did go back sooner than expected (3 days later) for a lunch time visit and it will definatley not be our last. Do yourself a favour and go. Its fantastic and very reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed

Had lunch a few times here now ! Great little Mediterranean restaurant tucked away off the main drag in Halifax. You can smell the wonderful chargrilled meat as you approach . The chicken kebab is delicious , the vegetarian selection is also delectable . House Red wine is very palatable . Staff friendly and efficient . Cosy and a nice intimate vibe , recommended.

Went to cafe passion for the first time with a local friend, been asked not to order too much because of the portion is really big and won’t be able to finish all, menu though, was really tempting. This photo was the food we ordered, two mains (doner kebab& something ), salad and two starters. Really fulfilling and tasty! Authentic food. Staffs were really helpful and friendly! I’ll definitely come by again next time !

We went for hubby's birthday, he loves his food so he opted for the 'Passion special', what a plate full!! It was huge, he managed to finish it, but could'nt manage a pudding. (a first for him!!)

Lovely quiet little restaurant with a great selection of the nicest kebabs you can ever wish to eat. Great value for money and also lots of other really nice food too. It’s a must see and place to eat.

Friendly welcome here today. Very tasty food, extremely generous portions. Had chicken and lamb kebabs, tender meat with fluffy bulghur accompaniment. Best dish was the Turkish style fajita, which was amazing (and would have easily served two people!)

Friday night visit the restaurant full they found me a table straight away ordered a mix grill meal disappointing donar as just a small Scottish sausage but the remaining meat good.

This is a real little jem. The ground floor is only small, with an open kitchen, but comfortable, and the food really delicious. We had the hot mixed mezze and the portions were generous, so we struggled to finish it. Which was a pity because I would have liked to have eaten pudding, but had no room!

Visited this little place over Easter whilst staying with family, what a fab place.

Went here with friends, it's only small, but well worth a visit. My friends ordered the houmous as a starter, it was delicious, lots of lovely salad and pitta, plenty with one portion to share. Then we all had the shish chicken, it was amazing, again lovely salad and pitta, the chips were delicious too.

Normally eating in London I'm spoilt for choice so it was really nice to see so many new things on the menu. The waiters recommendation as brilliant. And much too big, but they were happy to give me a take home box. Really pleased to find this place and recommend it.

Following a recommendation from some locals we searched out the Cafe Passion.( It's down beside the Bowling alley) So glad we did.A small Turkish restaurant with great staff.The food was wonderful and at a very reasonable price.If you like Mediterranean type food it's a must.It was the highlight of our trip to Halifax.

You don’t need starters but we shared a portion of humous and fresh pita breads , which are delicious . A very popular place to eat so suggest booking at weekend / evenings

I regularly visit cafe passion for lunch at work and must say their grilled halloumi pittas are awesome! The portion size is great, some may find the price a lot for lunch, but you get what you pay for. The pitta itself is fantastic and the salad and dips they provide with any take out are brilliant and extremely tasty! Definitely one of, if not my favourite place to visit, tucked away near the bowling place in Halifax.

With being a Chef myself I'm very fussy where I go to eat, but I've been told to go to Cafe Passion a few times by different people. Between shopping with my Mum, we popped in for some early lunch. It was only 11.30 but the owner who was outside showed us to our table straight away, gave us a few minutes, took our drinks order then took our food order. We had just enough time to look but not too much time so we were trying to find someone to order with. We both decided to have the Sea Bass Salad.

Beautiful kebab with a homemade salsa to die for! Reasonably priced food with friendly staff and modern decor makes Cafe Passion a romantic location, as well as a great place to eat! I would definitely recommend eating here and it satisfied a large appetite before going bowling across the street!

I’m a huge fan of the food here. Great if you want a quick tasty reasonably priced meal. My only problem is that the original doner (finely sliced chicken) is SO tasty that I never go for anything else! Also as it’s such a big portion I never get starter or dessert. It’s served with lots of pitta, bulgar and cacik Others in our group have had the calzones which have been amazing and the passion special (a mix of many meats) which are apparently yummy too.
