I have been to many hotels, this is by far the worst. The check-in time is very limited, and they require a significant payment to let you through. If you don't bring it in cash, you will have to look for an ATM dragging your luggage, because they won't let you in even to leave your suitcases. Old hotel, poorly ventilated and smelly room, with a private bathroom, but outside the room, with a trickle of hot water in the shower, no hot water in the sink and a toilet that drains badly. Very few plugs, on the table of one of the beds there was not even a lamp or a plug. If you run out of toilet paper or soap, you will have to buy it at the supermarket, because they do not respond to replacement requests that they are supposed to make via phone messages. Be careful, they will penalize you for anything, such as leaving the latch closed, because it is a regrettable locking system that can leave the room locked when you leave. It seems advisable to record how the keys are deposited at the end of the stay in a "self check out" mailbox showing the departure time, because they may also charge you money from a deposit that they require upon entry. Very poor customer service, only a bad-faced character will appear if there is some money to be taken, zero concern for the guest's well-being. Non-existent services despite what the advertising says, it is nothing more than an old-fashioned mansion without the slightest customer service. I have to go to Nottingham many times for personal reasons, but I will never set foot in this joint.

Very, very poor business standards. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone. Booking cost 85 and email said I have to be there from 3 pm to 9pm to book in with an extra 50 damages deposit. Got there at 8pm no one was there and had a sign with a number to contact. They said I broken some made up rule and would have to wait 45 min for someone to come and let me in. This was my wedding night and I had to leave my party to go sign in and pay £50 and no one was there and had to wait 45 mins what the time is clearly 9pm. They was rude and empowered when I spoke on the phone to try and get my keys so I could go and enjoy my wedding night. Never got in and trying to get my money back. Ruined my plans on wedding night after celebration at party. Don’t book here.

Hotel let's say a house used as a hotel, very nice, close to everything, the only problem was, let's say the welcome was quite cold, the basset lord wasn't even English, okay as soon as we arrived, he asked us for 50 pounds as a precaution if we ever blocked the door or we broke something. Then another problem was the hot air, it wasn't there... they told us it was centralized, I'm sorry but I don't think this is correct, when they reached a certain temperature they turned off, I didn't have the possibility to regulate the hot air. .never.. they were turned off the entire time I stayed here. It's a shame because for the rest it was perfect, there was hot water, the other customers in the house were very quiet, the wifi was ok...but the hot air with 6 degrees outside...and you came back from outside and there was same temperature inside. .absurd! Pls check the radiator

Short walk from the main city center, check in was easy, host was really polite and friendly. The building is old, you can hear people moving around on the stairs but this didn't disturb me during my stay. Room was clean and tidy, bed was so comfortable and soft. Nice little hotel for a good price :)

Very central but at the same time quiet hotel. It has a very tight check-in time. The person who served us was not English and neither were we, so understanding each other was difficult. We had to leave a deposit of £50, which we didn't know and it didn't say anywhere. He told us that they do not accept the Revolut card, which they did not say anywhere. He finally accepted it...

HORRIBLE Was promised a double bed and got given a single. Room was tiny for the absured prices. My friend needed a place to leave his bag for a bit so came to drop it off and In doing this they kept their £50 deposit!! Most absured was told the toilet stopped working when I checked before I left and was working perfectly fine!! Please don’t come to this place Its a complete waste of money and especially in Nottingham when u want to be able to bring friends or girls round for a bit and it’s just now allowed. Will never come here again.

Repulsive!!!!!!!!!! Host was weird asking me for my number. For some reason they kept a £60 deposit and when I tried calling them about it they hung up. Host was very strange I have to say my room was open while I was bringing in my shopping at 11pm and he came in asking me if I was enjoying the customer service. I had no working wifi for 5 days as a man who works online all day this ended up to me losing my job. This place was disgraceful and honestly a massive waste of money. Lastly, as soon as I came in to the room I noticed that they hadn’t cleaned my toilet or the bath as someone’s bath water was still there. Overall I was absolutely appalled and would never come back here again.

My mother booked a family room for her, my brother and I recently for £149 through Expedia. Although the room was big enough and very clean there are some downfalls hence my 2 star rating. a) The car park is around £15 for 24hrs even after paying £149 for the room. Bit of a kick in the teeth in my opinion. b) There is no reception so you have to be specific with your check-in and check-out times which did annoy me slightly. c) The price of £149 for 1 night on a Tuesday would suggest a 5* resort however this is more like a 90s bed & breakfast with a lick of paint. d) Poor quality bed - could feel the springs all evening. If this accommodation was £60/night, I would be rating it 4* however how they can justify £149 is totally beyond me.

The price seemed alright for not being far from the city center, restaurants, Nottingham castle etc. but.. we had to pay a £30 deposit and about £20 extra to have a bathroom in our room in stead of having one across the hallway, both of these prices weren't mentioned when we made the reservation. When we asked about this he said we should have made a reservation for the "ensuite" rooms in a demeaning tone, as if we purposely wanted to have a bathroom outside of the room. Who would seriously NOT want a bathroom inside their room? Also the 10am check out was kind of early since our train left around noon. We could opt-in for a late check out for something like £10 but we kindly refused as they seem to care more about squeezing every dime out of the guests opposed to keeping them happy. I will most likely not return here as there are better hotels in the area for similar prices.

Having stayed before in the 60s tower block down the road I decided to try this for about the same price. Only 7 rooms, very old building, small and cosy but it ticks all the boxes and has much more character than the local chain hotels. My only minor gripe was that the room was hot on arrival, having turned the radiator off for 24 hours it was more comfortable. V thick duvet too but probably just me that likes to sleep in a cold room. I'm still unsure why there's no breakfast but hey there are plenty places nearby for that. Watch out there's no lift, so tricky for those folk who can't do stairs.

Everything seemed to be going well until we got the jug of tap water that we asked for and it had bits in the top. The waiter merely shrugged and said it was tap water. They gave us the wrong bottle of wine, over cooked the steaks we ordered and overcharged for what was clearly very cheap antipasto platters. Given the response we got over the tap water, we decided not to challenge anything else but we certainly won't go back.

My friend and I arrived and were promptly seated in the bar area because there was a whiskey tasting session taking place in the restaurant. The bar area was small, a little dated and had a pointless fish tank in the alcove. We were given a menu and after about 10 minutes we placed our order. We both started with the homemade fishcake which tasted lovely but was very small and thin and very sloppy (£4.70). We both then ordered the 12oz rib-eye steak (cooked rare - £15.90), and separate side dishes (my friend a tomato and onion salad, and myself, the potato gratin - £3.90 each). The steaks arrived after a small wait and as we suspected they would be, were over-cooked. However, they tasted fantastic (and my friend would rather not go back to a place than complain) so we plowed on. The potato gratin was very nice, but my friends tomato and onion salad was very bland. We then opted for the chocolate-almond cheesecake and I really wish I hadn't bothered because what we received for £5.30 each was a slice of a peanut cheesecake (I'm so pleased I'm not allergic) from either Lidl, Aldi or Ikea! Although most of the food tasted nice we won't be returning because if you're paying £20 for a main course, you want it to be cooked right and I was really annoyed about the "cheesecake"!

My partner and myself bought a deal for a two course meal with a drink which we used on a Saturday evening. We booked early (6.30pm) as neither of us like to eat late. When we arrived we were the only people there - and when we left about one hour later, we were still the only people there! The building is quite a strange one, I get the feeling it hasn't always been a restaurant. The starters we had (garlic bread and soup) were lovely. We both had the rib eye steak with a side of chips. I had the bourbon peppercorn sauce which I have to say is the nicest peppercorn sauce I have ever had. My partner had a BBQ once, which he loved but it wasn't to my taste. It's a shame you have to order vegetables as an extra side. The service was fine and quick but didn't have that 'welcoming friendliness to it'. I would recommend to anyone wanting to try somewhere new to buy the offer (on Amazon Local I think) and give it a try.

Booking was a real challenge. The first time I rang the phone was answered by someone with very little English and I was asked to call back later. When I did I got someone with a smidge more English but still a very difficult task to simply book a table because of the language barrier and that most date/times I wanted were not available which is inconsistent with the fact that when finally dined there on a Friday night we were the only people in the place. The food was OK but I got the feeling that most of it came from a packet rather than a chef. Corners cut. It was on a amazon local deal so limited choices. Maybe the full menu has better dishes? Lots of little things wrong. Waiter delivered second drink but left empty glass, slow service, tacky 1980s fish tank, overflowing paper towel bin in the gents (how? We were the only ones in!). We won't be returning. Not bad, but so many better places nearby.

Truly bizarre! We had a similar experience to the reviewers receiving a frosty and rude response. There seems to be a recurring theme here – don’t use a voucher to try to eat at this restaurant. When I tried to rebook a table for two using a Groupon voucher advertising a two-course steak meal for two for £22, I received the same response. I asked for an 8.15pm or 8.30pm booking for an alternative evening and was given the curt response of 8pm only. Of course when we got there (having rushed to get to the establishment), there was hardly anybody there (as I suspected) - only one party of four who left after an hour and no more customers came that evening. Upon arrival, the first thing the proprietor asked for was the voucher before we were shown to our table – not very friendly! We assumed the two courses meant a starter and main meal, and the voucher did not specify otherwise. We discovered that there was only one choice of main being offered (the 8oz rib-eye steak), and it was only after finishing our meal (of starters and mains plus side dishes) that the proprietor told us that the offer actually referred to a main and dessert, and proceeded to flourish a photocopy of the original wording from the Groupon website for our benefit!! It was almost as if he expected a hostile reaction and had the evidence ready to counter it! He also stated that other customers had assumed the same thing, so why did he not mention this at the beginning of the meal? It felt like we were doing battle and were being treated as second class citizens for daring to use a voucher; it was a relief to leave, frankly. Needless to say, we will not be returning and the experience was not one I would care to repeat, especially as I have never had to complain about any other restaurant voucher offers I have bought in the past, which have been numerous. I will not be recommending the place to my friends or to Groupon when they ask for my feedback.

After having to re-book due to circumstances out of our control - we called to say we were running late the evening we'd rebooked for, due to being caught in football traffic. This was received frostily & rudely, & told to be at the restaurant no later than 7.30 otherwise we would lose our voucher (Amazon local £29.95 2 courses & drink). We rushed to get to robin 7 to find a half empty restaurant, which soon became empty. Starters were disappointing either garlic bread or soup. The soup was freeze dried made with hot water tomato & basil. Drinks were either a pint or fizzy pop / no wine option ?!We chose steak which was nice but only one side included for £29.95? Not sure about this being a deal.We felt uncomfortable the whole time & we couldn't wait to leave. We attended this restaurant for a nice relaxing meal however when we arrived we were shocked how tiny it was and we were the only people in there at 8pm on a Saturday. The food was atrocious and took 45 min's between course, we were very disappointed and for anyone considering going there we would recommend Soulville Steakhouse or Tropeiro these both have excellent food, ambiance and you won't go home feeling like you've been robbed.

There were five of us and we all really liked the intimate feel of the upstairs restaurant. One of our party has a nut allergy and the restaurant owner was unbelievably helpful in ensuring the meal was nut free. He was very friendly and the food was good but a little disappointing. The reasons for our disappointment were: being told that as there were so many of us we could only have our steaks cooked "medium" when only 3 of us were actually having steak; one of our group asking for a bearnaise sauce but being told they could only have red wine, chimichurri or peppercorn; and finally, undercooked chips. These things are not what I expect at a restaurant specialising in steak!

Food was excellent and served promptly and pleasantly. Every mouthful was absolutely amazing. Staff was very friendly, polite and professional. One of the best steakhouse I have ever been to! Would definitely recommend if you're visiting Nottingham.

With only 14 covers, the restaurant is certainly 'cosy'. Perhaps too much so as you feel like your conversation can be overheard. We were a party of 6 and were disappointed that a cover charge of 10% is automatically added to the bill. We would have left a tip but would have preferred the choice. With only 14 covers you would have thought they would have been glad of a party of 6? Food was very good but not great. We dined on Saturday. It's now Wednesday. I can remember what we had - good but not memorable. Sorry.

We ate here using a groupon voucher. Lovely, but tiny little restaurant which was fine for us as we ate at an early time and had the place to ourselves! The owner was fantastic; friendly, knowledgable and nothing was too much trouble. The steaks were absolutely beautiful; cooked perfectly and melt in the mouth perfection. Delicious sauce and surf and turf accompaniment. One little gripe; it would be so much better if they served their own home made chunky chips, rather than the generic bought in ones, but this did not spoil our experience. Give this place a try.

I was staying at an hotel just around the corner. As the weather was atrocious, this place seemed a good idea. I can recommend the venison steak . The wine was reasonably priced and there was a good selection of whiskies from around the world. I think the word to use is serendipity.

We ate here last night. We both had the ribeye which was to die for. It was perfectly cooked, done exactly how we had asked. The potato gratin was also very good as was the wine. The owner was very attentive without being annoying. There were other customers drinking in the bar and eating in the restaurant during our visit so it wasn't too quiet. It was nice to be able to relax and chat without having to shout to be heard.

Beautifully cooked steaks, an impressive selection of whiskeys and friendly and attentive manager! As the restaurant is only small the experience is very personal, it was obvious that the manager works extremely hard and has a very good knowledge of his whiskeys...It would be nice to see this hidden gem a little busier as it has the potential to be a great restaurant. The only downside was that the chips weren't homemade, which was a real shame as the rest of the food was great.

had a lovely meal, great service and excellent selection of whiskies, for me it just lacked atmosphere, the saturday before xmas and only out table and another in the very small restaurant upstairs and nobody drinking downstairs, needs to get the word out about this place as im sure with a few more people in it would be great, our steaks were beautiful

Food was delicious, as well as quality, really tasty food. It was one of the best places we have eaten in a long time. All the steaks were beautifully cooked. Service was very friendly and attentive, no rush. Restaurant was busy but Manager Roberto found a little time to chat with my husband about whisky which was very lovely. A great choice if you are eating out in Nottingham.

Brilliant concept for a restaurant/bar... downstairs is really chilled and a great place for a drink, while upstairs is really slick and perfect for a romantic dinner. There are loads of cool whiskeys on the menu as well. Would definitely recommend!

My son and I had the 3 course Festive Menu last night (18th December) and it was fabulous ! It's his local pub and booked it as a treat, I'm so glad he did as its up there with the best Christmas menu food I've had. The Terrine was wonderful, not what I expected at all, home made piccalilli and salted sourdough made it perfect. Turkey dinner was huge and cooked to perfection and the Orange & Cinnamon Alaska was to die for ! As you can tell, I was impressed. Thank you to all the friendly, helpful staff.

40 minutes late when they were only four minutes down the road from me. For some reason the bread was really hard
