This delightful coffee house, a little bit like travelling back in time, filled with too many temptations to say no to and if you’re lucky enough to be there when they are roasting the coffee beans your senses will be in for a treat whilst having a cup of great coffee. We loved it. We should also add the staff were very friendly.

I take my two young kids here with my mother and it always ticks all the boxes for me. The food is good, there’s a lovely room at the back to sit down and relax (as much as you can do with two cheeky sprogs), and the drinks selection is very good too - catering for said sprogs and adults. But for me it’s the service that really stands out. The staff are always great with my kids and really go that bit extra to make sure they’re happy. I adore chocolate myself and it’s also a very good place to go if you have a sweet tooth. The chocolates in here are superb. All in all, I can’t fault it, and I have enjoyed every visit here. I can’t wait to go back

This traditional shop sells tea, coffee and fabulous chocolates, has seats outside and a snug tea room within. Very welcoming, comfortable and affordable, the proprietor was friendly didn't mind us loitering over a big pot of tea, which was loose leaf, and of perfect quality. Sandwiches looked nice too, and so did the coffee - Blue Mountain Jamaican on the menu, for connoisseurs. Excellent all round.

We do like a little trip out to the Kent countryside and Oxted ticks a good few boxes Robertsons coffee/tea shop is a lovely find Good lunch selection Mrs had a very generous jacket potato whilst I went for the blokey bog standard ham&cheese sarnie accompanied with s decent pot of tea Food was lovely and the tea hit the spotFriendly quick service at the back of the shop Nice and clean with a heater going full pelt to make it very cosyOnly downside was the view into the shop ... stacked to the brim with the most fantastic Easter eggs and gifts so sadly you’re not just gonna have lunch you are gonna exit with a lot more lolReasonable prices although as I found out the wife can always push the limits Definitely worth a weekly run out as Oxted has some lovely little shops to browseOne downside as ever with these popular places parking is a premium but don’t let that put you offAlternatively the train station leads right onto the high street Enjoy ....

Popped in here for a light lunch. Smashing. Had an excellent Brie and grape sandwich, freshly prepared and served at correct room temperature, accompanied by a generous, crisp salad and great coffee. Warm friendly service and lovely “ye olde tea shoppe” ambiance. We liked it so much that we popped back for a pot of good strong tea and cake. Great find. We’ll be back!

Tea shop with yummy cakes and sandwiches. Sadly they could not find anything for a customer with wheat and dairy allergies so they had to have a cup of tea while the rest of us indulged. Spoiled it for us all so we won't be back. Will be very enjoyable if you don't have allergies but really should be able to offer something to everyone.

We last visited this coffee shop when we visited Oxted six years ago. The menu comprises light meals, sandwiches cakes etc. as well as drinks. Our sandwiches arrived beautifully prepared with thick fillings and thinly cut bread. everyone else's meals looked appetising and the service was efficient and friendly.

We have visited here many times over the years but have not been foe some time so decided to grab a quick bite of lunch. It has changed hands since the last time we ate here. It retains much the same format as a shop and is actually a really interesting place to browse with lots of items that would not be found in your average tea shop including some super hand made chocolates etc. However the changes are noticeable. We now have youngsters serving so the service has changed a bit, nothing wrong with this but its a whole lot less formal with much chatter and giggling going on from the front that carries into the tea room. The food was also a little different. Cheese toasties were somewhat dry and only the egg on top saved them, the baked potatoes despite saying we had a gluten / dairy free person with us came floating in butter and one of the toasties had and I quote - not been loaded onto the tray so didn't get served! 10 minutes later whilst three of us ate we asked about the 4th meal and were told sorry - they would do it again as it had gone called. There are six tables and 4 were occupied - it should not be difficult to work out there is a meal sitting waiting to be delivered. So regrettably it was not the best experience. The food is OK, the service is not what it was and needs to be checked and improved, but it retains the same charm is slightly more frivolous - which I suppose a good thing as long as service does not disappear. It did when we were there.

There's nothing worse than the smell of babies, if you get my drift, with your cherry Bakewell – or any other cake for that matter. There's nowt worse than the smell of babies answering the call of nature, full stop, especially when you've ordered a toasted teacake with cinnamon honey and a pot of tea, and there's nothing worse than a running commentary from the baby's mother as she goes through the process of changing her baby's nappy. Actually, there's more. There's nothing worse than the sound a baby makes prior to having its nappy changed – especially if you're eating.I was in Robertsons Coffee Shop in Oxted, Surrey, on a Saturday afternoon. I'd nipped in for a quick cuppa and something to eat, having enjoyed a cheese and pickle sandwich and a bowl of soup in the same establishment the previous Saturday. I've been here before, a few years ago, and there's now a sign outside exclaiming 'under new management'. Look, it's quite simple, I don't have a problem with women breast-feeding in public, but when it comes to changing a baby's nappy, surely that's why they invented baby changing facilities in the restrooms. My companions and I ordered two teas, a hot chocolate, two toasted teacakes with cinnamon honey and two scones – very dry scones – and, all-in-all, we weren't over the moon. Cue a nasty aroma drifiting in from the other corner of the room where a baby was enjoying answering the call of nature, twice, in the space of about 10 minutes, accompanied by some stunningly realistic sound effects – realistic because they were real, not fake. The sounds certainly affected my attitude towards the food I had ordered. And let's not overlook the running commentary from the mum, something like, "Ooh! Look at that!" as she admired the contents of the baby's nappy, which, like a museum, had opened to the public, in this case the clientele of Robertsons Coffee Shop. There was an awning outside, it wasn't cold, but the weather was changeable: one minute sunshine, the next rain. Why didn't the manager point the woman in the direction of the fresh air, thereby allowing the aroma, if that's the word, to travel the length of Oxted's quaint high street and disappear into the atmosphere rather than mix with the more pleasing aroma of freshly ground coffee?Robertsons is one of those quaint places that sells teapots and biscuits and different teas, not forgetting chocolates and cups and saucers and coffee beans. The teashop or 'caff' element of the business is through some doors at the back of the shop. It's an enclosed space, not ideal if you're baby's in the mood to pick up the phone to Mother Nature. Windows were good and it wasn't good for the nostrils, put it that way – or the appetite. But let's take a look at the bill. There were four of us and the bill was just short of £18. A pot of tea for one was £2.50 (we had two pots) – more expensive than in a Costa. A hot chocolate was £3.25, those dry scones were £2.25 each and the toasted tea cakes were £2.50 each! The smell of a baby being changed? That was complimentary – on the house! We left Robertsons Coffee Shop almost £18 lighter and let me make one last observation: the cakes on display were not exactly a welcoming selection. Most had been sold, but not replenished. There were small chunks of three different cakes under one of those clear plastic containers. It could be that the cakes were so good they had all sold out, bar what was left, but when I visit a coffee or teashop and there's a paltry display of cakes, it's always a little bit depressing, even more so if there's the unmistakable smell of babies.Look, where the baby was concerned, these things happen and I'm sure Robertsons Coffee Shop isn't always choc-a-bloc with babies desperate to lighten their loads by answering the call of nature – twice. For that reason, we won't rule it out in future if ever we're in Oxted – and we will be – but I'll check the price of a cuppa in Costa first, although I'm sure there will be babies misbehaving in there too.

Looking for a place for coffee to be honest we almost missed this place as its tucked at the back of a shop selling Chocolates and coffee. the tea room itself is rather small but is obviously popular with locals. A few slices of cake left to choose from along with a good selection of teas and coffees

There is an interesting shop as well as a small coffee room. The shop sells various coffees and gadgets associated with coffee. The coffee was good but not the best that I have had. The room is very small and a bit cramped. But it looked very popular with locals. I feel a bit mean with the 3 stars but it isn't anything wonderful, maybe 3.5 stars would be more appropriate! It is a friendly cafe.

Today i enjoyed the most delicious chocolate cake ever, my friend said her stem ginger cake was equally as good. We also had a pot of tea and a coffee. We had plenty of time to linger and enjoy the atmosphere of this wonderful tea shop. The new owner, Andrew, was very friendly and he has a good choice of different products, freshly ground coffee, biscuits, jams, homemade chocolates and novelty chocolate shoes etc. If you want a different, quality gift this is the place to go. My husband was delighted with his marzipan bar (which is difficult to find) so this shop is Oxteds best!!

Charming. Excellent coffee, courteous smiling service, comfortable old fashioned seating (you don't go numb or have to shift!), all in a cosy atmosphere, a haven of quiet off the high street. The cakes looked really first class - I was sorry I couldn't eat them (for medical reasons)!!!Also great shop for coffees, teas, chocolates from around Europe, plus china to serve it all or drink from. I'll definitely come here again when next in Oxted.

It is lovely to take your time and browse around the shop which has lots of very interesting and unusual items for sale. The splendid chocolates are delicious and worth taking home one or two. Robertson's is another Oxted treat! a very small traditional coffee and tea room forms part of the larger shop area and serves a limited menu which is nicely served and wholesome. In addition the shop itself has an excellent choice of high end chocolates and other confectionery and products which you cannot usually get in supermarkets as well as coffee and tea related gifts. It also serves good take away coffee which is roasted in the shop and is sold and blended by Terry Sleet and his staff. Recommended.

We have been to Robertsons many times, and love the place; it is a small place in a lovely English Village. They have a small menu but enough to pick something tasty, great coffee, tea, cakes, sandwiches etc., and everything is fresh. For the size of the place it is packed full of things in the shop; and at the back a small room with tables to sit drink and eat, there is also some outside seating. The main part of the shops sells some great Chocolates, biscuits, jams and lot of other tasty treats.Try it, have one of their tasty cakes and some chocolates to take away enjoy.J & M

This coffee shop has been open on this site for many, many years - it has survived the recession because it is a special place. You step back into a bygone age as you enter an Aladdin's cave of tea and coffee accessories arranged on floor - to - ceiling shelving. The air is full of freshly roasted, freshly ground coffee. To the right of the original serving counter is a newer glass cabinet full of dainty local chocolates. Morning coffee and afternoon tea are served in a back room that is lined with tiny tables and traditional English spindle-back chairs. The ambience is quaint and charming, the scones are warm, and Robertson's Blend (in a cafetiere) is the coffee of choice. Pick your cake from the dessert trolley...
