This place used to do really nice hot proper cooked joints of meat (pork/chicken/beef) in batons. We've not been for a while and it's certainly gone down hill. More stuffing and bread than meat and the meat was the thin stuff like you get in a packet from the supermarket. Totally not worth the prices they charge. Probably not bother going back when booths round the corner does proper hot sandwiches using quality products at similar price.

Whilst on a coach trip we stopped in Garstang for an hour to sightseeing, before we got back on coach we decided to call in for a sandwich to eat before our next stop, the window displays looked inviting so five of us entered, 3 young girls were serving so we waited our turn, looking at the menu we all decided on the hot roast beef and onion baton so we ordered 5 at £6.90 each, one girl put some onions on a griddle which didn't seem hot whilst the others prepared the batons, white or brown we were asked, the beef came out from the kitchen in a roasting dish which I thought was funny was expecting the beef to be carved from a joint but it looked more braised anyway mustard onions and beef was arranged on the batons some put in bags and some in plastic trays, back to the coach everybody could smell what we had and were jealous, now came the eating, first mouthful nothing but fat and grissel whit I spat out and looking at my friends reaction there's was just the same, on the whole the onions were raw litterly 2 small pieces if beef the rest was all fat a really disgusting beef baton, if we hadn't been on the coach we would have returned and complained, I cannot comment on anything else they had for sale, it all looked inviting but shall not be spending any more money in there, once bitten twice shy sd they say

I like to give fair reviews of customer experience and quality of produce as I rely on these from other people to make choices about where I eat and what I buy. We needed a sandwich for lunch which in the local villages isn't the easiest thing to find on a Monday unless you want a supermarket pre-pack. Planning ahead I had a look online and found this place was open on a Monday and had really good reviews. Managed to park literally right outside (can be a pain in Garstang) and in we went. Nice small shop, everything laid out in the window for their "roasted" or breakfast goods, one display fridge inside for cold sandwich fillings and some pre-prepared ones if time was short. Which it was. While it isn't the biggest issue in the world, we didn't receive a greeting upon walking in and until we were served the girl behind the counter didn't acknowledge us at all. Small point but small local shops normally do tend to be friendly. There was only one person in front of us who had several hot breakfast sandwiches in front of them on the counter top, the girl behind the counter, back to us for the next 10 minutes cooking sausages, nipping occasionally into the back room, speaking to someone, then returning with bread stuffs. Each time she passed us, no hello, no eye contact, no (and this is what would have been good) "I'm just busy with this gentleman, I'll be with you in a minute" and no attempt at getting another person to serve. Three more people had joined the queue but it was another 5 minutes until the super consumer of sausages had more sandwiches bagged up and paid. We would have wanted fresh sandwiches making up with full salad, however as we were now pressed for time, not realising it can take over 15 minutes to get (as it turned out) a pre-packed sandwich out of a fridge and pay. So we opted for a Piri-Piri chicken baton with lettuce, and a cheese savoury baton with salad and an egg custard. Paid and left. That took about 1½ minutes. Really we should have been served while the sausages were cooking, or the girl should have asked someone to come through and see if anyone wanted produce already ready/cooked/prepared. Still, the wait would be worth it according to the other reviews. Spoiler: it wasn't. The Piri-Piri chicken sandwich looked good, sadly on the first bite I got a gristly stringy piece of chicken, a proper crunchy bit, I assumed was that little bit you always cut off a raw chicken breast before cooking it. Trying to put that out of my mind I continued. The baton/bread was very nice and lettuce was crisp and not browned. The peri-peri chicken/mayo mix was far too salty though, the taste of salt overpowered everything else and that was surprising as there was a lot of mayo in the sandwich mix. Not really a remarkable peri-peri flavour either. Really disappointing. As often happens (to me) as I proceeded through the sandwich, a badly placed hand and bite combination forced some filling out and onto my plate. Dark meat! Hello, that's not chicken breast. I do a lot of grilling and outdoor cooking and my best guess is that it was chicken thigh meat and that certainly explains the chewy crunch as thigh meat is very fatty and needs careful and meticulous preparation to be a good cut. I don't really expect to get a cheap cut of meat in a sandwich shop, certainly not unless it is labelled as such. It made me feel that the £4.25 I'd paid for the baton, with lettuce not full salad, was a bit on the pricey side and absolutely not worth the money when the tasteless peri-peri and saltiness was taken into account. Shame. The cheese savoury was lacking any noticeable onion and was bland (maybe needed some salt), just a very average sandwich. Again not worth £4.25. The egg custard was good and a large size, no complaints about that. Really disappointing visit, if you decide to go I hope it is better for you and that the shop learns to make their service more efficient and maybe revise some recipes. There aren't many places to buy a sandwich in Garstang, but that shouldn't be the reason a shop managed to stay open. Possibly it does for the breakfasts alone.

I had a lovely experience at the cafe thanks to the wonderful barista who served me (unfortunately don’t know her name) She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made my coffee just the way I like it. Her warm smile and kind attitude really brightened my day. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about her customers. I’ll definitely be coming back!
