Rivers Restaurant in Swale

We visited the Rivers Restaurant for Sunday lunch to celebrate my Father in Laws birthday. This is the 4th time this year we have visited to celebrate with the family. We have never been disappointed and we have been visiting the restaurant for over 30 years. The service and food never disappoints. Clare and her team are very attentive and the food is always exceptional. We particularly look forward to the desert trolley! Thanks for another wonderful afternoon and we look forward to our next family gathering on 10 December.

We went to the Rivers Restaurant in Upchurch Golf Club, to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary with family. We had Sunday lunch menu (adults and children). Our table had been decorated beautifully - so nice to have table cloths, side plates with butter knives, water and glasses on the table and hot plates to keep our our vegetables warm. Food was delicious! Staff were very friendly and helpful and service was very efficient. Highly recommended

Call in today for a lunch,food very good,table service by two young ladies excellent. Staff very friendly and well mannered.overall very enjoyable family visit. I will be visiting again soon with a lifelong friend.keep up the good service,compliment to the chef,delicious fish and chips,good quality food at a reasonable price,far superior to nearby business.thank you.

Very helpful and lovely staff,they were all very friendly and professional. The food was great and fantastic value for money. Many different menu choices.

Our Branch has held many lunches and dinners at this venue over a period of several years and proved to be a brilliant find! The Staff are pleasant, helpful and efficient. The food has always been served on time, of excellent quality with more than enough to eat. The decor is modern, bright with a Bar plus an area which can be used for dancing. There is a stage at one end for entertainers to utilise. We have our County AGM already booked for June and will also be holding our Annual Black Tie Dinner here in October!

Have often called in here for lunch and normally pretty good however for the last two visits the standard has fallen decidedly below par. We ordered the homemade leek and chicken pie.....definitely homemade as the pie crust was about 1/2 thick of the hardest pastry known to mankind and the underside was uncooked. The chicken filling was on the lean side and so dry it was almost inedible but the addition of grainy mustard was a bit of a surprise, not over keen on mustard so I wouldn’t have ordered this dish had I known. The peas excelled themselves by being so hard we could chase them around the plates....and the addition of a jug of beef gravy was not in keeping with a chicken dish...and all of this for a princely sum of £11.90. When I mentioned the quality to the staff they didn’t seem bothered. Needless to say we won’t be back in the foreseeable future, going to the little truck stop at Hartlip where they know how to do a good pastry and for much less.

Met friends for lunch. All 4 of us ordered the roast of the day which was beef. Generally all the meals were not hot enough but mine was particularly cold and not edible. Only the roast potatoes were warm. Didn’t realise how cold the food was until I put horseradish sauce on it and tasted it. The Yorkshire was icy cold like it had been in the freezer and not defrosted fully. The peas were solid and cold and the carrots and parsnips were cold and uncooked. The beef was very well done and stone cold. I took it back to the bar and asked for another meal to be served hot. When it came back to the table it had been microwaved !! The beef was dried up, curled at the edges and like leather. The Yorkshire was solid and everything was very dried up but still undercooked. The horseradish sauce was a solid lump and they had poured masses of hot gravy on it so it was swimming in the stuff!! I took it back again and the lady at the bar just handed back my money and made a derogatory comment about the chef saying ‘he wont last long’!! She never even asked if I wanted a different meal. I went hungry while the others ate theirs. We won’t be returning, the whole place is a shambles. Very bad chef and even worse that the waitresses were not helpful and never sorted it out. Just ignored the fact they I had come for lunch!!!!! The beef was definitely slices from Iceland and the potatoes, veg and Yorkshire’s we’re Aunt Bessies (or cheaper) for sure. YUK!!! Horrible!!!!

Stopped at the golf club for Sunday lunch after a 2hr journey home, Very disappointing, there was four of us, & there wasn't a good thing to say about our meal, stay clear of the roast dinner, haven't had anything quite like it! Didnt complain at the time, as I doubted if the staff would of taken any notice or cared. Won't be returning,

Food is disgusting. We had 4 meals and all were watery and bland. Didn’t eat my burger and the woman working basically called me a liar about it being pink. Wouldn’t go back again. If you’re thinking about going don’t, unless you’re going for a drink.

Just had a roast here with family in the Rivers restaurant. Lovely food, plenty of it and plenty of choice for some ‘fussy eaters’. Such good value for money too. Will definitely come again. Thanks for a lovely lunch

Havent been here for a meal in a few years because of a bad experience thought we would give it another try big mistake !. there was a party of 12 of us most of which left most of their steak meals. the steak was like leather.when i complained i was told i should expect it to be tough if i wanted it to be well done. this will be our last meal there. the dogs done well though.

I play golf most Mondays but it's the first time we have been up stairs for a roast dinner on a Sunday It was absolutely bloody marvellous for 3 courses it was £17 per person which included tea or coffee ,thermal come with every thing all cooked to perfection it's the best ,£17 per person iv ever spent who ever reads this you must go and try it you will without a doubt not be disapointed we will with a doubt be going back soon

Called in the off chance, ordered roast dinner nice and hot and plenty of it service was very quick. I will call again in the near future good prices.

Been here twice this month for my two daughters birthday meals. Staff are very helpful and the food is good. Can recommend the gammon...

There was 11 of us in through restaurant upstairs, some of us had christmas dinner and some of us had beef instead of Turkey, and some had salmon for the amount of people there the meal and service was good

We have often used the bar restaurant for a cheap eat as we felt it had improved however whilst not expecting fine dining tonight's meal was sadly very poor.The menu is extensive with many specials on the board in addition. I chose roast of the day which consisted of loads of beef slices curled up and chewy from presumably being microwaved, it tasted horrible, I had some soggy roast (frozen variety) potatoes and some new potatoes. Al dente cabbage wasn't nice and an ok Yorkshire pud. My husband had a cheeseburger which looked and tasted microwaved it's presentation poor with some fries. Dessert of apple crumble with custard was some stewed (poss tinned) huge apple chunks with a separate sprinkling of a dried powder? No custard but scoop of flavourless ice cream (no explanation of why no custard). My ice cream was 3 scoops of icey no flavour cheap feeling stuff.. no creamy gelato here. Such a shame as this wasn't restaurant quality food at all and I'm no expert by any stretch. We won't be returning. ☹

One of our family members ordered a fillet steak which was so tuff she was unable to eat it .when her husband quietly complained he was rudely told it was the luck of the draw the cost of the steak was twenty one pounds,we have been coming here for many year this was our last visit

Not expecting anything special,we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food here, beautifully presented,fresh,hot and delicious,in fact I have never tasted such succulent delicious pork! We has a melon starter, followed by delicious pork,crushed new potatoes,beans wrapped in bacon, cauliflower cheese and mixed vegetables. We then were treated to a meringue with cream and strawberries with a fruit coulis, A very generous cheese board with grapes and biscuits,tea,coffee and mints. The staff were brilliant,very obliging and helpful. Superb air conditioning was much appreciated ,as it was a very hot day!

After a game of golf with friends we decided to have a bite with our pints. I had the roast of the day which was pork! The one star was for the meat as the veg and roast pots did not warrant a rating. My friends played safer with burger and chips - but can only comment that much was left uneaten! Beer was good though.

We visited Rivers Restaurant for the first time yesterday and both had the most delicious lunches. I chose a Roast Beef Dinner which I couldn't finish and my husband decided on the Gammon. Both meals were served up very quickly, even though there were lots of people in the restaurant, and our plates were piled high. Afterwards we went into the courtyard to look at their Koi pond and ended up chatting to the owner of the golf course, who is a most delightful gentleman. We will certainly make this one of our regular lunch venues in the future.

We are regular visitors of the restaurant here and love the food. The staff are always great but this time there was a lady Sharon mostly serving us who we haven’t seen before. She was consistently rude and has such an attitude problem.

This is the first time we have tried Sunday Lunch at the Rivers Restaurant in the River Valley Golf Course. Great value and excellent 3 course meal. The Waiting Staff are excellent. We will be back soon.

Ha sido un tiempo desde que visitamos este restaurante, pero después de experiencias recientes en otro lugar pobre me pareció que era momento para echar otra mirada. Y estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho.

Very enjoyable evening, restaurant well laid out, everything well planned, food excellent, friendly staff made you very welcome, great party band, Loose Change, highly recommend, will be going back soon.

Recientemente se celebró una cena de celebración en familia 60 cumpleaños en los ríos restaurante en el Valle del Río Campo de golf Upchurch un domingo por la tarde y tengo que decir que me quedé muy impresionado con el lugar, la comida y el servicio.

Had dinner at the Rivers Restaurant. Food was good but the restaurant itself is dated. Could do with refurbishing as well as the clubhouse as well. Would only recommend as average restaurant.

Me tomaban a un lugar en Allington Maidstone para una comida, después de buscar en tripadvisor me parecieron muchas críticas negativas, así que decidimos ir al club de golf Valle del Río Upchurch. Me alegro de que no tenía esposa y patatas fritas cod encantador filete de pollo hamburguesa tenía todo preparado para nuestro gusto. Personal muy amable, la comida llegó rápidamente. Sentamos en las hermosas flores del patio en canastas por todas partes. El propietario se quedó con nosotros y nos dijo que los ingredientes secretos para hacerlos tan grande. No puedo poner eso aquí, ya que no es mi lugar.

Arranque increíble asado y postre, no me puedo quejar de nada el personal era genial una agradable bienvenida de Wendy y sin duda volveremos 15 libras por cabeza, incluyendo té o café un montón de verduras frescas.

Everything was first class no complaints whatsoever staff were on the ball the food was top notch thank you

El restaurante club house es fácil de encontrar, hay mucho aparcamiento. Decoración interior confortable y acogedor un montón de áreas de descanso. Y lugares para tomar una copa. arriba donde sirven comida muy agradable zona de bar con mesas grandes. lo suficientemente grande como para alojar grandes fiestas familiares. atractivo interior. además de un bar. el personal es muy atento y amable. La comida es muy buena, 3 campos, sirven para alto nivel bien presentada y agradable comida. Una comida muy agradable en un entorno agradable. Y bien merece una visita.

He utilizado este sitio para comer años siempre impecables que han cambiado recientemente el menú creo que están tratando de ir comida selecta ha ido cuesta abajo y el tamaño de las raciones se han reducido. buscando un lugar diferente para comer lo siento

Cada vez que he ido a Upchurch he estado del Río Valley Golf Course para una comida; y esta vez no nos decepcionó, y está claro ver por qué es tan popular con todo el mundo!

Chef has changed so the big portions have gone

Visited with a large group. Amazed at how well the staff dealt with large numbers. Food was excellent and well served. Perfect venue for a large event.

Stunning place to get married. Food and service amazing. Plenty of parking spaces. Aso a stair lift for those who find stairs difficult

This place is great, even on Father's Day it was reasonably priced at £14.50 for a three course meal. The food is yummy and the service was great, will be going back for sure.

I have played golf here at Upchurch golf course, the restaurant does a very good breakfast fir those hungry golfers,our society has its Christmas dinner here, which I very nice, staff are friendly, plenty of choice for those who like a tipple at the end of a game of golf, my parents have eaten in the main restaurant and they have had an excellent meal.so why not have a game of golf, then a meal to finish the day off

Visited today for Sunday lunch with view to book for a 21st lunch. Had really good service, the food was lovely and you got lots of it. Decor inside restaurant was nice. Very reasonably priced as you get so much for you money. I can gladly say that we have now gone on to book for 17 of us to go in June.

Just recently went with friends to The Fabulous Forties Show. This was a big disappointment as the music was mostly 50's and some 60's. Nothing like the Forties.The venue and choice of food was very god and reasonable, but this particular show was very poorly put together.

Recently i visited the golf club for a meal. The premises and furnishings were looking very tired and tatty. The menu was quite extensive to choose from. Average priced. I personally feel that the meal was nothing special... I wouldn't rush to return back to this venue

There is no way you will leave this place hungry! the different meal choices, and quality of food is high. The mushroom starter, and the camembert were both delicious. The lamb was tender and the sides were huge> home made puds like Gypsy tart, pavlova and key lime pie all went down well. Downstairs was busy but we had the restaurant to ourselves. A good choice for friends and families.
