This is now called Luna Cafe. Offering English and amazing Turkush food. We came yesterday for the first . Ordered the Turkish breakfast for 2. A huge platter arrived. Jams, bread, eggs, meat ( which I didn't eat as I'm veggie) cucumber, tomatoes and olives. And plenty of unlimited Turkush tea. Highly recommended. £16 for 2 people . We will definitely return

Went with a group of girls. The restaurant was choosen by them as they were all church related at one time (Christmas menu), the other time more or less the same. The vegetables were so hard, even with my own teeth too hard to chew. Very limited menu and not much chance of doing other food instead. Small portions, not a feeling yes I had enough. The small place does add to the atmosphere. Hope others will enjoy

Nic's restaurant is very good for well cooked food, even though the menu is limited, a very helpful lady, and tries her best you give a very good meal, the venue may be a bit out dated, and perhaps at times the service a bit slow if you are in a large group, but however the wait is very worthwhile, and Nic has won awards for her cooking. It is well worth a visit, may be one of the best place for food taste and cooking on the Island.

Had a lovely time. Food was lovely just the right size potion. It was a place to chat to your friends. /although some light background music wouldn't go amiss. Restaurant a little old fashioned. But the food was really excellent everything cooked to perfection. Evan did gluten free bread and checked with my friend whether she could other food type. Waitress attentive without being in your face. Had a great time and compliment to the chef. Will go back again

We were spending a night in Queenborough and chose this restaurant for our evening meal. It was a great choice. The food was beautifully cooked and the owner charming and attentive. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Queenborough and I will certainly return. Thank you Nicola for a lovely evening.

We never knew this place existed! It is hidden in a parade of shops overlooking the former Queenborough Castle site and a stone's throw from Queenborough train station. Decor is utilitarian but the welcome from Miss Nic Prior the owner and chef is warm. We were part of a large birthday party celebration and she even provided after-dinner games!

All our food dishes come out 15 mins apart from each other so it all ended up being cold. The steaks on the other hand were so dry it was actually like chewing on a flip flop. At this point 4hrs later and still only half the dishes came. ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I HAVE EVER BEEN

I can honestly say I've never had a worse experience than this ! There were 12 of us, but no other people dining. We had all pre ordered and only 4 had starters. Booked for 7pm and still waiting for starters at 815! The waitress was very apologetic but clearly out of her depth just trying to fulfill drink orders. 9 of the 12 had steak most wanted well done . Easy? No. Spoons thrown on table to 'help yourself 'Bowls of veg came out before the steaks . No steak knives and believe me they were needed! The medium rare was medium the two medium were well and truly well done ! Potatoes came out after all bar two had finished ,the same as the large plate of broccoli that arrived after we all had finished! At least 6 of the meals were sent back . Overall a very disappointed party out for a friends birthday . Justification was 'I'm here on my own!' Very very poor reluctantly we paid half of the food bill. And all of the drink bill. Avoid this place!

Last evening's visit to Nic's was again so enjoyable. Food excellent as always, the most friendly welcome, and nothing too much trouble for Nicola and her staff. If you have not tried this island treat, then do so and enjoy great food, cooked to order and imaginatively presented. Good choices, not over expensive and a calm, relaxed atmoshere to dine in, You certainly get a 'YES' from us Nicola 😊

Well, it was first class food, beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, the duck was the special, and it was. Salmon with fresh veggies was amazing, well done Nicola. As per previous reviews décor not as amazing as the food, but clean and acceptable, and not as bad as some reviews indicate. Don't be in a rush when you visit, Chef Nic does it all, worth a few minutes wait. oh, and the cost, top restaurant standard food at high street café prices

Enjoyed another splendid dinner at this welcoming and charactful local restaurant last evening. Thank you Nicola and your staff for treating us so well and for my husband's birthday card and candle! A very kind thought indeed. Your cuisine is mouthwateringly good and what makes dining at your restaurant so special, is how special you and your staff make the customer feel. We look forward to paying you another visit hopefully in the near future to sample more of your excellent culinary delights.

Heard mixed reports about this restaurant, but as a couple who enjoy eating out for no good reason, and seeking new culinary experiences from time to time, we decided to give Nic's a go, as it is local for us. First impressions are so often misguided, so the somewhat time warped decor was not going to turn us away as we were greeted in a friendly manner by Nicola, given the choice of where to sit, offered a drink before studying the menu, plus specials of the day. Our choices were prepared and presented with politeness and due attention to any extras we may wish to have, sauces, water jug, was the wine to our liking, all of which are points many other eating establishments either neglect to do, or are so invasive in their ott attention. The lamb served as my main course was absolutely delicious, my partner's steak rated well too, fresh vegetables served in side dishes and not cooked to death. Nic's home cooked chips scored high too. Yummy cheesecake dessert, cheese board and coffee completed our meal most satisfactorily with a bill which didn't make us gasp! If you want chic or a posey designer plated menu with fussy finesse, then not the place for you, but seeking a good value freshly and well cooked 3 course dinner plus a friendly welcome where it seemed that nothing was too much trouble, then give this a try, but soak up what the kitchen has to offer, rather than the surroundings. We shall return to Nic's Restaurant to sample some more at a later date.

If you want a relaxing evening out eating real food that isn't delivered frozen and then chucked into an oven then you could do a lot worse than to visit this little oasis situated in a terrace of shops and takeaways in Queenborough.Where else could a couple enjoy delicious home made soup, a duck dish, steak all with home prepared veg, and gorgeous home prepared desserts, and come away with a bill for a little over £50. Oh I forgot the beer, glass of wine and liquer coffee. The food here is prepared with care and I doubt you'll be better looked after anywhere. Yes service can be a little surreal at busy times, but these are genuine people who care about their customers and provide good food at fair prices.Pensioner's lunches are now available on some Fridays, and don't miss the lovely homemade preserves and chutneys ! Occasion cakes are also available, there's more to Nic's than meets the eye !

Nic's is a very unassuming little place next to a small row of shops in queenborough and Im sure it is greatly under used. I had heard great things about this place and for years I had wanted to try it out. It is a very small family run place with around 20ish covers, it is like walking in to your aunties living room. I have now had the great pleasure of visiting this establishment twice, both time in large parties around Christmas time and all food had been pre-ordered. The food has always been above average, beautifully cooked with lovely fresh ingredients, bang on and rather unusual for poor old Sheppey which seems to have missed out on the British food revolution. I don't want to say anything negative about this place as it has such great potential......... BUT the staff are an absolute comedy goldmine, imagine Faulty Towers meets steptoe, My friends and I still laugh to this day. I can't recommend the "Entertainment" enough it is like stepping back in time. A brilliant night out!!

Had a lovely meal at Nic's restaurant with a large group of friends - we filled the place !!. The food was delicious, freshly cooked to order and very tasty. I will agree with the other posts on here that the décor needs a proper update and some TLC, but I go to a restaurant for a good meal not to look at the wallpaper. Nics restaurant is quirky, old fashioned and dated but you cannot complain about the quality of the food, the friendliness of Nic & her staff and the prices !!

Me and 'him' eat at Nic's whenever possible. We think the food Nicola serves is just simply amazing and although the interior could do with a little updating, this is really part of the charm of Nic's Restaurant. You would never believe the quality of dishes that Nic brings through that little door! Give it a try - you will not be disappointed.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

We have visited this restaurant on two occasions, once in 2012 and once recently. On our first visit last year we had the a la ca rte evening menu, everything was beautifully cooked from scallops to start, mains of bass fillets, and duck.We returned last Friday lunchtime for Nicola's latest initiative a two course lunch for O.A.P's at the great price of £5. You get a choice of two starters, two mains, and deserts. You are able to mix and match either a starter and main or main and desert, (desert is extra if having a starter and main but still great value. On the day we visited with two friends we sampled the soup, roast chicken, shepherd's pie, and apple crumble, all perfectly cooked. On the slightly negative side the decor could do with some T.L C, and some background music would not go amiss, but this does not detract from the great food and friendly service. This lady has been in business since 1994 and continues to provide top quality food, something that is sadly lacking on the Island. Give it a try you will not be disappointed, highly recommended!
