I went into Rise Cafe after visiting two other cafes in Wilmslow, on previous days, which were both pretty good. Rise however, topped the list, for superb food, a lovely panini, excellent coffee, combined with a very pleasant ambience. I will definitely go again, when I am visiting Wilmslow.

Friendly staff, great coffee and great tasting food. Great variety on the menu and I will certainly be revisiting when back in the area. Set slightly off the high street I found this little gem of a place. WiFi was great for a working lunch and the coffee was delicious. Food cooked to order and nothing was too much trouble for the lovely staff there.

I have never written a negative review before but felt I needed to after eating in Rise. The price displayed on the menu is NOT the price you pay at the till. They add V AT onto your bill. I was very surprised and felt I’d been misled by this tactic. It is very unfair to the customer but very profitable for the business. I have spoken to the owner and she is now going to change her menus. It does, however, leave a bitter taste.

I like to find and buy from independent businesses when I can especially after the pandemic, on a short trip to the Wilmslow area I stopped at Rise for breakfast and coffee. It is lovely. The staff are friendly, so much nicer menu than the coffee chains. I asked for eggs benedict and was given a choice of bacon, salmon, spinach and I think the list went on but I asked for salmon. It came quickly, was perfectly cooked and really delicious. The coffee had a delicious flavour. Very happy with my stop.

Camarena closed, now Smoke was closed, so on a weekday at lunchtime it was either the pub or somewhere else. Remembered Rise, across the road, so we ventured inside. Quite busy at the front so we took a table at the back where we could catch up. Ordered extra hot lattes and they were brought to the table soon after. Could've been hotter but good quality. Lovely little café, I'll be back.

I popped in for lunch on a Monday as I like to try out independent places. It was quiet (but not dead) and there were no delays in service. I had the tuna toastie which was large and tasty, with a lovely fresh crisp salad on the side. The cheese was a bit cold though. For £4.25 this was great value, especially as I struggled to finish it (not usually a problem I have!). The hot chocolate was good, again great value at £2.75.

Have always enjoyed visits to Rise and still have fond memories of the amazing stew I had there last winter. Visited for lunch with friends recently and it's changed ownership. Service was quite slow, it was a bit of a wait at the counter for orders to be taken, and no acknowledgement from staff while waiting. I ordered a roasted tomato soup which came very quickly but didn't taste "roasted" at all, just tomatoes blitzed and doesn't taste as nice as the soup I make at home! The real disappointment though was the coffee - Rise used to serve the best coffee in Wilmslow but what I had was just like Pret's filter which wasn't great. I probably won't be visiting Rise again anytime soon, which is a real shame.

The Chef produced a really good avocado on toast with poached eggs BUT my partners 'full English' was very average for the £8 charged (with one rasher of bacon). We could forgive that but what was alarming was the standard of hygiene we witnessed which nearly put us off eating. The 'owner' sneezed into his hands and didn't wash them, then wiped his nose with his fingers. He also picked a dirty napkin off the entrance mat by the front door where people walk in and out and wiped a table top with it! Luckily someone sensible came over and sprayed the table top and wiped it, much to our relief. OWNER GUY - PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS. This is basic hygiene 101 my friend, in addition, stuff you pick up off the floor GOES IN THE BIN!!

Been to Rise quite a few times for coffee and lunch with colleagues and friends. When I first went for lunch, I had a toastie which I wasn't particularly impressed with, but Rise has since revised their menu and they now have quite a good selection of hot, cooked food for lunch. I have tried the avocado and poached eggs on toast, salmon frittata, tuna melt and my favourite so far, the beef stew with dumplings which was hearty and peppery. The food is a good portion, reasonably priced, and cooked fairly quickly, which is what you need at lunchtime. Coffee is good too (both normal and decaf) and I have tried some of the sweets on the side which have been good. A good place to go for a quick bite or a chill.

The coffee is excellent and I have to stop myself from stealing the hot chocolate I buy for my children(it is delicious). The food is very tasty and you get very generous portions. The total lack of blandness is very removed from the offerings you get from the many chains in Wilmslow. I thought this cafe looked great from the outside, since it's an alternative to Costa and Starbucks, which are both very nearby. But when I stopped in this morning for a coffee for the first time, I was extremely disappointed with the service.I was left standing like an idiot while the woman behind the counter just stared at me, not even saying hello. When I eventually placed my order, she seemed to serve me with disdain. When I paid, she quite literally shoved the change into my hand. The man making the coffee didn't even look at me, except to say that a coffee wasn't mine. Perhaps they were both having a bad day.The coffee itself was good, which is why this review isn't 'Terrible'. One poached egg on toast came, then another came... about 12 minutes later... and the 2 full breakfasts came about 8 minutes after that... Some of the staff we friendly but others showed no enthusiasm and looked uninterested in everyone. The food was yummy and I very much enjoyed it but I was let down massively by service. As a former waitress, I understand things like this can happen if a place is busy and I am very understanding if this is the case. BUT the place was empty except for us and one couple... Food was yummy so the chefs did great apart from the delays between food but I think the front of house staff need a serious talking or training

Amazing coffee shop in the heart of Wilmslow. Their coffee is beautiful and they offer alternatives to milk as well (good for lactose intolerant folk or vegans).Always excellent service from the lovely staff, and their text message ordering system is wonderful when you're on the way to work or in a hurry. Not sure why this place has any negative reviews, overly fussy people perhaps? Everyone I know from my workplace who've been there (more than I can count on two hands) won't go anywhere else for coffee now...why bother? It's way better than the chains or the other shops. And yes, it isn't a gigantic place with tons of seating but it has plenty considering Wilmslow isn't a city...and is has lots of character too. Also like the effort that goes into the funny messages on the sign outside every day.I can't speak for the food but their cakes always look yummy!

We have visited Rise a couple of times now. Having two dogs it good to find places that accept dogs inside and not just at their pavement tables. And when I say accept, I mean actively welcome! The coffee is good and its nice to have a choice of different sandwiches/biscuits/cakes etc rather than just the same old stuff the chains offer. The staff are friendly and the service is good. I think this will become a regular haunt for us and our two four legged family members, especially as it seems more important than ever now to support our local independent shops.

I go to Rise occasionally, as I like to support local businesses rather than the usual chains. The issue with this place is that it is basically a corridor with seats. Seems busy when there are only a few customers. On my last visit I had the poached eggs on toast. They took a very long time to come. the eggs were perfectly cooked but the toast was very crunchy - probably stale bread. Best Coffee in Wilmslow? Popped in after a visit to the barbers round the corner. Had a delicious flat white. Really good quality coffee and not burned the way it can be in the chain places. Can't say more than that as didn't sit in. Ditch the 'big 3' and support the I depended. Will be back!!

Coffee at Rise is good quality. Service is pleasant. We were a little unlucky as the upstairs seating was closed on our most recent visit as we were a group of four and the few larger tables downstairs were already taken.

Breakfast of excellent coffee and lovely poached eggs on thick toast. Well cooked and nicely presented. Service a little erratic but this adds to the charm of the place. A nice change from some of the chain coffee houses. Well worth a visit

Visited Wilmslow area for a few days before a football match in Manchester. We visited Rise for lunch and felt very welcome. We had Americano's to drink which were lovely. My husband had the Texan panni & I had the roasted vegetable tart for lunch. Both were very tasty. Friendly staff who spoke to every customer and asked if they had enjoyed their meal. Obviously very keen to ensure customer satisfaction. Ten out of ten! Wish Rise was in my home town and then i would be able to visit regularly!

Well - I do love my coffee and I prefer to support the local businesses. Of the national chains I prefer Cafe Nero coffee and there is one in Wilmslow but I always come here. Its on the main road on the left on teh way to the Aston Martin garage. Nice bright atmosphere and you can sit for hours reading the news paper. Coffee tastes lovely and teh people there are very happy and friendly

I love this place, the potatoes are amazing and the smoothies are also great! My kids also loved the paninis, I always like to go whenever I am in Wilmslow !

The portions are on the small side, unless you count the bread - they serve half a loaf with each sandwich, toastie or something-on-toast. My small son had no chance at all of even getting his toastie into his mouth, and the fact that the ham is cut very thick meant he couldn't eat his lunch. No problem for adults though. Having to ask for everything from cutlery, glasses, sugar and napkins got rather tiresome too. The largely teenage staff seem to enjoy working there, it does feel a bit like a youth club. We won't be going back.

Fab coffee, gorgeous breakfasts and the staff are lovely! I particularly like the little sun trap courtyard to the rear!

RISE is a small independent coffee house and cafe on the popular high street Water Lane in Wilmslow and it's well worth finding. We went for Sunday breakfast following a night at the seriously mediocre Holiday Inn by the airport. Its not a lot to ask but so many big name chain coffee shops like Starbucks serve a bland mug of wet brown stuff. RISE by contrast served us an outstanding cappuccino with just the right mix of coffee, milk and foam, and superb Americano. both were rich in flavour and well made. We also had the full breakfast, made with quality bacon and sausage, superbly cooked poached eggs, beans and mushrooms accompanied by chunky toast. The cafe was quite busy and felt friendly and warm. They have a courtyard for sunny days and deserve to thrive against the brash competition from the mostly bland national chains.

Would have liked to have given 5 stars... But the cheeky so and so's carpark has sent us a parking charge notice!!!!! We've eaten in pubs and restaurants, all over the country and never ever had to pay for parking, I don't even remember seeing anywhere to pay for parking? We were so pleased with the food that we were going to make it our regular stop when we go to the nearby airport monthly. Well certainly not going to be doing that now!

The most appalling 'meal' and service that I have ever been subjected to. We ordered steak and ale pie and this was brought out to us and placed on our table and described as a pie. However, there was absolutely no pastry, just a bit of gravy in a dish. When I called the waiter back he said 'to be honest, we've ran out of pastry' - are these people for real? To add insult to injury, the manager actually tried to charge us for the pies we never received!!!! Shambolic and not for the first time, but definitely for the last. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME/MONEY!!!!

This place has a vast amount of things for children to play on. However don’t expect to get food quick- they have two cage areas but one is never open and the other has a constant huge queue because the staff take forever! Even if you want drinks you have to queue with the food and last time we queued for 25 minutes! Ridiculous when you have children to supervise and feee!

Average food more like a pub, raw onion in the scotch egg bhaji, bang bang cauliflower poor, fish and chips were tiny and fish dry. So over priced for below average food.
