Ring Of Bells Thornton in Bradford

This pub has recently re-opened under new management and thank goodness we found it. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the owner greeted us personally. The menu, while not extensive, still offered plenty of choices for entrees, mains and dessert. Our meals were cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. They have a good range of beers on tap, including local, and are reasonably priced. We hope to get back there one day.

Absolutely beautiful spot to sit out the back in the sun, we came for drinks but decided to stay for tea, we had fish and chips on this occasion and it did not disappoint! The new management have worked wonders for the place, Helen goes above and beyond to tend to anyone’s needs. Ella is an excellent chef! We will continue to visit regularly, Thankyou for a great time and Thankyou for being dog friendly too!

Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, I ordered the fish and chips which was really nice, The fish was very tasty and the homemade chips were excellent also. Had a small chat with the chef who for someone so young was so friendly and pleasant. I cannot recommend highly enough and with the stunning views I would definitely visit again 👍

We first visited the just before Christmas and can only say it was absolutely outstanding one of the best meals and service we have had in a long long time hence why we could not wait to return .... ...........Oh dear not quite sure what's gone wrong but this experience was terrible , It was cold inside I understand heating is not cheap but a little warmth is nice , We started with the fish soup and did something that is never easy to do , we had to send it back it can only be described as thick warm baby food with the slight hint of fish , our main meals were to be fair fine and we did enjoy them , however spending £12 on a five year olds meal is just ridiculous , £7.95 for what we thought would be a pizza was in fact a pitta bread with Tomto sauce and cheese on top , then an additional £3.95 for a small ice cream , service was not a patch on our first visit and we waited one hour for our main course , not sure what had happened from our first visit but we left feeling totally underwhelmed and so disappointed.

Warm welcome, fantastic atmosphere, food and service. The waiters/ waitresses could not do enough. Lovely seating and surroundings.

1 hour 10 minutes from ordering to food arriving , by then you have lost interest, we won’t be back .

This was the first time we'd dined here for many years. Being a Sunday we were looking for somewhere that was offering a full menu as well as a Sunday carvery. When we telephoned to book, the welcoming voice on the other end of the line explained that this particular Sunday was the first time they were running both options. The five of us thoroughly enjoyed our excellent meals, in a friendly atmosphere and served by similarly friendly and attentive staff. We'll certainly be back for more and would thoroughly recommend the value for money food to prospective diners.

Food excellent portions great I always enjoy the food and service at the Ring O Bells, Thornton. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff or the owners. The chef made the excellent cheesecake and the cheese board never lets my husband down. There is always a good choice. Food is good quality and locally sourced. Its a pleasure every time. Colleen

Amazing offering for gluten free food with no risk of cross contamination to protect my coeliac son. Everything on the menu can be done gluten free so very impressive. Finally my son could choose whatever he wanted to eat and in a child's portion also.

What a fabulous evening…. I can’t believe I’ve only just found this little gem. From first arriving, the staff made us feel welcome. The atmosphere was lovely…. Food outstanding. For a gluten free vegetarian the menu covered it all. I’ve never had so much choice when eating out.:.. Absolutely worth a visit.

Ate here yesterday and we were very disappointed with the food .. obviously with it being Mother's Day it was very busy and we were told when we ordered it may take a while,but we weren't expecting it to take well over an hour to arrive especially since it was only a small menu to choose from . We chose the beef, there was two slices each which I could only eat half of as it was very chewy and a lot of fat, roasties were hard inside so I left those too, Yorkshire was heavy and tasteless although my brother in law ate mine as well as his. Very small amount o vegetables cabbage, 2 florets of broccoli and 2 roast carrots, served with a jug of thin gravy .. the carrots were the best thing on the plate . Wish we'd stayed at home and cooked our own. Don't know why so many places find it so hard to cook a good roast .

Always good food when we eat in here I had a xmas dinner which was very good Debbie had fish and chips which again really good then we sat with some pals drinking for the rest of the evening in the bar area which again good drink after good food in pleasant surroundings

This is the best Sunday lunch ever and everyone is welcoming and do their very best to make your happy

What a complete joy to stumble across this pub. The entire menu was gluten free, so an absolutely joyful experience for me as a coeliac. My partner was equally impressed and said it was the best pub food he'd had in a long time. #glutenfree

A lovely looking pub with great views of Bradford and the Yorkshire countryside with ample parking A wonderful friendly welcome and on entry a covid temperature check using modern digital devise was reassuring. Lots of space between tables. Menu choice was good for Sunday lunch. A fresh plate of food arrived with ample gravy. Brilliant service throughout. Coffee and Puddings were delicious too. Overall a pleasant meal out in lovely surroundings with friendly welcoming staff. Thank you for making our weekend with family to Bradford special.

Had a lovely 3 course meal here last night. The menu is quite small, but what they do they do extremely well. Staff are very welcoming and have covid safety measures in place, and are very respectful of your wishes and concerns. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was lovely. Will definitely revisit soon

We visited the Ring O Bells on Boxing Day for family meal. Due to an extremely unfortunate event where the venues fuses went out we never actually made it past the starter (which was lovely!), I still wanted to write a review and give the venue a good rating. The issue with the fuse box was without a doubt outside of everyone’s control, and the team there couldn’t have apologised or done enough. It must have been an extremely difficult situation to have to tell everyone that lunch was sadly off. This would not deter me from visiting the Ring O Bells again in the near future as what we did have I thoroughly enjoyed! I also love the setting and location, with friendly staff! I look forward to going back soon!

Visited the area on Sunday 21st November with friends. Food was amazing, service impeccable, staff very attentive and professional treating us really well. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be going back.
