Lovely little place, tranquil setting. Great for refreshments after a walk on the canal.

Had arranged to go here with my daighter for early Mothers Day lunch. As we went in there were a couple of children, who must have been family , wiping coke bottles. We got no greeting, it was cold and I couldnt see a menu. The place was empty. We ended up leaving. It could be such a lovely little cafe on the side of the canal.

Fantastic food (cooked fresh to order) brilliant views, friendly staff What a beautiful place to sit and watch the world go by whilst having a cuppa and something to eat. Soft play area is a big attraction for the little ones 🙂

5 out of 5 would recommend this place delicious food and lovely service, we had Wensleydale and onion marmalade panini and bacon tomato and mozzarella panini and two large cappuccino can't say it enough absolutely delicious!

If you want tea or coffee here it's nice view to enjoy it and they also serve food but it's take long time to get ready you have to wait for while if you are not in hurry.

A wonderful venue. Excellent, friendly service! All the food and ingredients were thoughtfully and ethically sourced to ensure high quality. A really high standard for a relatively small place but with a lovely atmosphere on the waters edge! I'd recommend it!

The location is beautiful and it could be an amazing cafe but it needs work. The service was ridiculously slow. It took an hour to serve 3 cheese toasties and a bacon sandwich and when I asked for brown sauce I was told sauce is usually chargeable but as we’d waited a while it was complimentary. I’ve never had to to pay for a condiment anywhere!! It seemed everyone was waiting ages. They said they were a staff member down but it wasn’t particularly busy.

Beautifully setting overlooking the canal. Indoor and outdoor seating so suitable for all weathers. However the food service is dreadfully slow. We were their first customers on the day we visited and it took an hour to bring us 2 bacon rolls and a toastie!! For this reason I can’t recommend eating there although the food when it finally arrived was ok.

Lovely food, calm and relaxing with views of the canal

Called in with my family today, food was good but customer service wasn’t! Not greeted when we came in (only customers there at the time) I asked if they had a menu and was abruptly told by a young girl “it’s on the door” same sullen attitude when I went to order and then again when she brought out food, practically slamming it on the table! The only saving grace was the older lady who brought our tea with a smile. Cleanliness wasn’t great either. Certainly not the place it was when it first opened.

Lovely little coffee shop in a quirky building. The staff were so friendly, it was a highlight of our visit! Only loses a star because the food options are very limited, but to be fair it's a very small shop. Highly recommended!

The two women staffing this cafe seem to lack any kind of customer service or interpersonal skills. Being met by hostility & ‘attitude’ on a first visit does not create a good impression. I didn’t bother staying. There will be no second visit. Best avoided.

I am an occasional visitor to Leeds, and when I visit, I always visit the coffee shop. The shop is situated in a very idyllic marina. The customer service is second to none and the products served are of a very high standard. I highly recommend this coffee shop.

I had a lovely breakfast here today. Beans on toast with two fried eggs on top. Eggs were perfect.

My experience with a coffee shop was not good at all, I asked for an egg sandwich and they took 35 minutes to bring it and there weren't many people and people working who didn't have a request to do, they were waiting for our order, they brought the coffee but it got cold and no order came

I’m a vegan and when I asked what they could provide they made a great suggestion. I had a smoked applewood cheese with tomato toastie, packed of crisps and a oat milk cappuccino. Great to see the cafe being so inclusive. Also stocked vegan magnum ice cream which was a real treat as was a sunny hot day and its the perfect destination for a sunny day

After a nice walk along the canal from Pudsey a perfect pitstop for tea and scones before the walk back down the river.

Very friendly, accommodating owners who serve up a delicious bacon butty. Great spot to relax and watch the world ( and the odd narrowboat) go by.

We called in after a good walk along the canal and tbh the staff are really nice , prices reasonable, latte was & other coffees ordered spot on , just one slight negative and that was the fat rascal scone which was very dry. Other than that lovely setting so a nice spot to relax.

We hired Mr Toad for the afternoon. Rob was a wonderful guide before we set off and after we came back, and the boat was easy to handle and ran perfectly. We'll be back!

Lovely friendly cafe overlooking Apperley Bridge Marina. Good variety of food and snacks. Always best to check opening times as there are a couple of days during the week when the cafe is closed.

It's a nice small and clean coffee shop. The service is a little slow but to fair that could be because of covid rules etc.

A nice coffee, delicious lotus biscuit brownie (I really recommend this). Insode is spacious and the outside spot is just lovely, peaceful and nice to meet others, covid safe.

This place was a hidden gem for me, amazing food and drinks with all locally sourced quality produce with a great choice of desserts and sweets for your family, all staff was very friendly and made you feel so welcome, and the view of the marina is breathtaking, we will be back again thats for certain, keep up the amazing work guys

We booked an afternoon trip on the excellent Mr. Toad boat. Rob and Vicky made sure we were well looked after and fully prepared before we set out on an absolutely brilliant afternoon on the canal. Rob was clear and helpful in getting us 100% ready to operate the boat safely and courteously and gave us loads of ideas of tips of where to stop and relax. A handy foldaway table and chairs meant we could stop for a canal side picnic before we headed down to Rodley for a stop at the Railway Inn. The journey was peaceful and relaxing and we got to see the canal from a whole new perspective which was brilliant. Highly recommended and will definitely do it again. Thank you Rob and Vicky!

Came in today and had a really nice sandwich. The cafe is big and offers waterfront views of Apperley Bridge marina. It's a beautiful place and very peaceful. At the moment with Covid-19 they have a takeaway service which is helpful. Really, really lovely staff who go out of their way to serve you well. Absolutely brilliant will return

Amazing chocolate, amazing drinks, great people and great place! Highly recommended.

The cafe is run mainly by Vicky she’s in one of the photos, she is also an accomplished first class chocolatier, producing many really different mouth watering chocolates, she operates several tasting events throughout the year, details can be found on her website. Rob her partner helps whenever but he’s actually the manager of the marina, and chandlers shop which is attached to the main cafe building. Definitely worth a visit whilst your in the area!

The food is varied, reasonably priced and caters for all diets including mine (vegan). The young couple who run it have exciting plans for its future and I'm looking forward to going back to see how those plans have come to fruition. Lunch here was the highlight of my day.

I never understand this place. Middle of summer: should it not be open daily? Never mind "Can't get staff" - it's a business so earn while the custom is there. And don't ask me if I work seven days a week. The answer is yes: I have my own business.

A great little place for a coffee or snack mid way through a walk, or even by car. Lovely views, especially from upstairs, looking over the marina. Would recommend.

A perfect birthday gift for my husband, we done a tester hour or so along the Liverpool Leeds canal with beautifully made tea for two, highly recommended gift and we will be doing this again on the full day experience

My son and I popped in for a bacon roll and a drink on a rainy Sunday, I found the staff to be welcoming and warm with a nice family friendly atmosphere. Food was freshly made and very good (the bacon was nice and thick!). My son loved the small soft play area and he definitely gives 5 stars.

The cafe serves tasty food. However, our visit was to go out onto the canal in Mr Toad. This afternoon was excellent, we took a picnic and was provided with some water as it was a very hot day. We went up and down the canal admiring the views and the wildlife. We took a couple of very young passengers for their first boat trip and they had a great time. Mr Toad was lovely experience. Fantastic day up and down the canal on Mr Toad - finished with a lovely cuppa in the cafe. Brilliant service, friendly, helpful and totally understandable advice on using the boat and the rules of the canal.Full facilities available on the boat. Would recommend hiring Mr Toad for a nice family friendly day on the canal.

Rented out a small boat called Mr Toad for the afternoon. Amazingly helpful and friendly staff and great fun id recommend the boat trip to anyone.

I see there are some grumbles on TA which is a shame. I like meeting people who are honest and try their hardest and that is true of Vicky and Rob at Marina View café. OK, so if your expectations are for a fast food experience you might be a tad disappointed but, come on, we are by the canal where life should be led at a slower pace. They couldn't try any harder to make customers feel welcome although I admit I am biased because Marina View has been fantastically supportive of a charity event a friend or mine and I undertook in 2017 when we kayaked from Liverpool to Goole. Vicky and Rob welcomed us for training sessions and provided much needed refreshment when we passed on day 5 of our journey. Thanks Vicky and Rob, we will be back.

Service slower than slow, tables not cleared, washing up piled up in tiny kitchen on view to customers. Owner stressed by own admission, would not recommend do not go there

A great spot with the potential to be a great place to eat and drink but unfortunately the poor, slow service and lack of good customer service lets this little place down. It's quite frustrating to see as it could be outstanding with some time, effort and good staff, on one occasion I saw a couple walk out 20 minutes after entering and not even getting a hello or acknowledgement from the lady working. The food we had was really good but it seemed to take forever to come out. It's not so great on a hot day either as the building is like a sauna with very little/poor ventilation. The outdoor seating area could be improved to compensate for this. On the plus side there is a little soft play for children which is a nice touch.

Very nice walk along towpath of Leeds/Liverpool canal at Apperley Bridge, West Yorkshire. There is a Marina at Apperley Bridge, mainly narrow boats. Swans and ducks to feed - the children loved this. Looked in at Cafe but it was a bit crowded so went to the local Sainsbury's cafe at Greengages. Will try again sometime.

Slow service, disorganised, low quality food - such a prime location but needs to improve - sorry to say we won't be back.

Tenía una y deliciosa ensalada con poco, tomó un poco más tiempo de lo esperado, pero todo fresco y valió la pena la espera, mi marido tenía un crujiente de bacon ahumado sarni tostado en pan suave y dijo que disfrutamos. Cafés eran buenas. Personal amable. Pequeña zona libre de juegos para los más pequeños. Bonitas vistas sobre la marina con los cisnes y patos y la vida del canal. Creo que puedes llevar perros, pero no 100%, así que verifique primero. Aseos disponibles

He estado dos veces en los últimos meses para almorzar con un amigo y la comida ha sido excelente en ambas ocasiones. Hay un poco de espera pero los bocadillos con amor y los ingredientes son las mejores.

My sisters and I visit this coffee shop regularly we have Coggeshall and cake sometimes a sandwich and sit and relax in the lovely atmosphere and views of the canal and boats it does get busy sometimes an it is not for you if you want a quick drink and off everything is homemade and takes time but it is worth the wait.

Came across this little gem whilst out cycling from Temple Newsam to Apperley Bridge and back along the canal. 25kms from our start we were ready for a sit down and a hot drink and spotted the cafe was open as we cycled west on the canal. Called in to find the owner playing acoustic guitar with another customer and his partner - obvious regulars at the marina. A super coffee and tea, delightful surroundings, shelter from the rain and musical entertainment along with some excellent panto one liners!! Vicky in the kitchen -owners wife - brought out some home made chocolates to try, my goodness they were excellent - I think I had the cherry brandy and popping candy ganache covered in meted chocolate orange - superb and enough calories to get me back to Temple Newsam. A lovely little place to which I will return

We visited during the canal charity event 21/8. Upon arrival a lady was complaining about waiting for a coffee for over half an hour, which I thought was a little harsh .....until our experience which unraveled! Trying to order at the till took for ever and the kitchen was clearly in a mess before we had even placed an order.When our drinks were brought over there was a tea short, we were then told she hadn't taken for enough meals! And was then completely confused at what she had charged for! We then waited for over an hour for three panini' and one cheese sandwich. My panini was tasteless, hard and a little burnt. The other two were cold. We then waited....and waited...and waited for the cakes and scones. They never came and we simply walked out in the end! The lady that owns it is nice enough but is so flustered, badly organised and despite two staff that day needs to have a long hard look at some of these comments as I've also heard of the same poor service from friends! If you know your going to be busy you'd make sure one is cooking, one person is serving and the other is waiting! Simple!! Or it should be! And not cheap!
