We love the spicy fish and chips from here, been having it almost every week for our takeout night. Ordered from elsewhere tonight and was disappointed, wished I had ordered from here so came to leave a review 😄

Best fish and chips in the area, better than Hooked and Mother Hubbard's by a long way, Been going here for nearly 2 years around once per month and never had a bad meal, we normally get one normal fish and chips and one spiced, both great recently tried the chicken with rice and chips and it's great too. If it is not open, i don't go anywhere else. I had a laugh to myself over the poor reviews left just seem to want something for nothing or it's a Uber driver that has been slighted for messing around with customers orders

Super quality fish and chips. Excellent service is standard. Never had beef dripping cooked fish and chips before. There's no going back now! Delicious and fresh food, cooked to order. The spiced gravy and spiced mushy peas were a revelation! If you are anywhere near, give it a go. You won't be disappointed.

Dear [Shop Owner' brings Wallis and bens I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at your fish and chips shop on 07/03/25 . When I placed my order, the food was burned and inedible. I called the shop to report the issue and was told that it was normal. However, I disagree, as it is not acceptable to serve burnt food. When I visited the shop to address the issue, the staff didny apologize and offered to compensate me for the loss. However, when the staff reminded the owner about my complaint, he was rude and dismissive. He did not face me, had his back towards us, and did not offer any apology or compensation for the poor service. I am very disappointed with this experience and the lack of proper customer service. I hope that you will take this matter seriously and ensure that such incidents do not happen in the future. People need to stop shopping here as he does not value his customer

Chips were nice, sauce portions were excellent scraps were tasty but fish was inconsistent, one of them was a decent size and cooked nicely the other nearly all batter and dry, the dog ended up having most of that one.

This place has been on my radar since it opened, but I just hadn't had a chance to travel over to try it out. It was certainly worth the wait! Don't be fooled by the small size of the shop because it packs a big punch! The menu has a twist. Traditional fish and chips, or fish and chips with spice. This is a nice touch and a unique offering. To add to that, they sell a ruby chicken, which is chicken thigh curry. Starting with the fish. Fried traditionally using Halal beef dripping, it has an incredibly crispy batter, with a nice golden colour. Perfect texture, which, when peeled away, reveals a nice flaky piece of haddock. The chips, fried the same way, are a delicate balance of crispy and fluffy. Something that many chip shops struggle with, but Shehzad, the owner, has nailed it. The chicken is absolutely delicious. Soft yet still moist and flavourful. It's not just your usual curry sauce thrown over chicken. This is a proepr homemade recipe. You can tell there's a real passion for delivering high standards. With attention to detail evident across the dishes. Even the name of the shop pays homage to the local area and its industry. This shows the level of thought and care that has gone into this venture. It's not "just a chip shop." This is a must visit place for any fiah and chip lovers. I can assure you, you will not leave disappointed.

I've got to say this was the first time I've used this chippy and we was not disappointed. Massive fish and chips and absolutely wonderful 10/10 I will definitely be using again and recommend everyone to give it a try.

What can I say? The food was the next level! Especially the spicy fish and chips. I opted for a medium spice and it complimented the fish really well. The chips were crispy, and fluffy and far from soggy (like most chippys). And what enhances the chips to another level is the beef dripping. It makes the outer coating of the chips crispier which gives a nice texture. Not many people in Bradford serve halal beef dripping, it makes a huge difference compared to veg oil! What stole the show for me was the curry sauce, best curry sauce I’ve ever had! Packed with lots of mixed spices and herbs. And the Garlic/coriander dip was insane, and went well alongside the chippy chips. All in all the service provided by the young girl at the counter was above and beyond. And the food itself was a solid 10/10!

Driver couldn't find me, i had to go out and look for him, then he told me it's my fault. Food was great though.

Walked into the place the guy with a tash looks at me with raised eyebrows. No hello what can I get you. So I just said can I have a spicy fish and chips. He just carried on looking and he then had the audacity to say to me can you say please. I walked straight out. All the places I have been in Bradford this has been my worst experience with customer service. A smile wouldn't hurt or is it hiding behind that dodgy tash.

I had the Chicken Tikka and Spicy Fish and Chips from here and really enjoyed it, the option to have a spicy twist and also having the chips cooked in Halal beef dripping makes it unique and stand out in Bradford.

Fish & chips were decent considering it was my 1st visit and probably my last. Fish size in comparison to Mother Hubbards and Hooked on Summerville Road, BD7 was far to small but I won't knock the taste. I went on Sunday afternoon when the owner was not there. Two girls, looked like they just come out of school, refused my request to have some spice powder sprinkled on the chips unless I paid 50p. Please bear in mind this is only place where you have to pay for spice powder, absolutely ridiculous . Everywhere else there is no charge. Anyway, I paid the 50p and my bill was £9.75 plus £1.50 for a Can of drink when everyone else charges £1 and not to forget the 50p the girls charged me for having some spice powder which they did not let me put on myself, they did it. They were treating the spice powder like Gold dust. Lol. Well it was my first and total cost £11.75 not such a happy experience for a new customer. I won't be going back, I just wanted to try this place following a You Tube review, but they bent backwards for that guy cos they had to, he was making a video. Bottom line, nothing special about the £9.75 Fish and chips, it was the regular size fish but can get alot bigger fish other places. The fish itself was oily too. I probably chose the wrong day, not sure if they have an expert fryer.

BEST FISH & CHIPS ANYWHERE, EVER! We recently discovered this secret little place hidden in plain sight. It is very small place, barely space for 3-4 people to stand inside – there is always a queue out in the street. Their Spiced Fish and Chips from their “British Raj Menu” is the best ever fish we’ve ever had, anywhere in the world. We recommend that this is paired with their British Raj (Spiced) Curry sauce and that the chips are spiced chips. We now know never to go anywhere else for this staple.

Have ordered from the establishment on a fair few occasions , even recommending them to family and friends . However , regretfully as you can see from their recent reviews , their standards have gone downhill . I think the fact that they have had a few YouTube vloggers hype their premises has gotten to their heads and now they seem to think they don't have to keep the same consistency . Regretfully I ordered two spicy fish and chips plus a British Raj curry sauce on Uber, the order was towards the end of the day but they accepted the order . They had the audacity to send me ONE plain fish and chips with mushy peas with no logical explanation even though I had ordered two spicy fish and chips . Their plain fish and chips is actually very bog standard and the only thing that gives their fish flavour is clearly the spice and seasoning, will be avoiding them in the future as reading previous reviews from others clearly shows their owner couldn't care less about loyalty or opinions of customers and their rating will undoubtedly continue decreasing now that their short term popularity has caused their standards to drop.

Really frustrated and annoyed with the poor service. Waited for over 20 minutes for my food. The annoying part was customers that decided to go for walks were able to push the cues. When I complained the staff member replied, “0ur customers are usually waiting for 30 minutes.” Very poor service, horrible attitude and they need to make space for their customers to wait. The place was overcrowded with palettes of drinks.

I contacted this place to inquire about the availability of halal food options. The girl who answered the phone responded in a discourteous manner, questioning why I would call if I was unsure about the halal status. I found this response to be both unusual and unprofessional, leading me to decline placing an order.

We drove to Bradford from London to explore some food and some attractions we found (Malham Cove, Yorkshire Dale .etc) and we decided to stop by here for some fish and chips. The food itself was absolutely amazing with both the spicy and original fish being fresh, crispy and with batter that isn't too soggy with oil. Furthermore, the owner is one of the nicest people we have met, giving us free curry sauce and mushy peas when he heard we were from London. We were eating the food in our car when he walked across the road and gave us free spicy fish at no extra cost due to our long journey. I recommend this place as not only is the food worthwhile, but the owner has a heart of gold too

1st time ordering from here, the best fish and chips so far in England. I am originally Scottish and know my fish and chips this is on parr. the homemade tartare sauce is exquisite along with the Yorkshire mushy peas and curry sauce. I would highly recommend only small criticism is that the fish was a little oily, a 9/10 for me because of that otherwise would've been a 9.5/10 near perfection. keep up the exceptional work and don't change like other places iykyk.

It's a takeaway, not a restaurant, so it's unfair to ask about the ambience. A quick family trip here and we ordered 3 fish and chips (one was the grand spicy) 2 drinks, a curry sauce at a total cost of £34. The food was delicious, hot, fresh and full of spicy flavour. We dined in at the shop at the chairs by the window. Good food, good service and satisfied stomachs

Over 25mins wait for food in a highly crowded shop, even though they couldn't keep up still taking money. To be fair I was told it would be 10min wait so knew I'd have to wait a little. Think they have become popular and is difficult to keep up with the current demand One of the fish I got was one of the most rancid things I've ever had. The batter was brown/grey looking - not the golden crispness you would expect. It was the spicy fish which you'd expect to be good given the price point. Think it was a smaller fish that normal as it was all batter. The other 2 meals were good as you'd expect but this completely ruined the meal and had to be thrown away. I'm not sure what went wrong whether an old fish was given, batter was wrong or old oil, whatever it was left an after taste for a few hours. May try them again but not a great experience at all.

Probably the best halaal fish and chips we've ever had. Can't fault the food. The portions are generous, and amazing value for money. Apparently prices are due to go up very slightly- so get in there quick! :) I can understand some of the negative comments about the customer interaction- but it does feel like they're making a real effort to improve on that too. So it's all good 👍🏽 Will definitely be going back when we're next in Bradford.

Went at half 7 and the customer in front ordered x4 fish fillets. The gentleman serving said they don’t normally serve fish fillets at this time but he would do it for him. I was next to order and said could I get fish fillets as well but flat out refused despite agreeing to the person in front of me he would do it for them. Surely if you are putting fillets in the fryer for one customer you can make an exception and do it for another?! It is unfair and not good customer service. Also the lady serving handles cash and the phone with her black gloves but then uses the same hands to garnish the fish with. Doesn’t make sense. I really liked this place in the beginning but the food quality, hygiene and the demeanour and attitude of the gentleman serving has put me off and won’t be back anymore.

One of if not the best fish and chip shops in Bradford to sum it up in one sentence. Not your usual chippy, fish and chips with a twist I’d say, which I was intrigued to see how it would turn out but have to say I was blown away at the quality and the taste of the food. The fish burger was absolutely spot on, the fish was crispy on the outside but was light and fluffy on the inside and the sauces and condiments complemented each other perfectly. Ordered the standard curry sauce and the British Raj curry sauce to taste the difference, both were top notch, the British Raj curry sauce had a nice spice kick which wasn’t too overpowering. An extremely underrated shop, with great customer service, the brother was very attentive, asking every detail on how I wanted the food to be made. Would definitely recommend. 10 out of 10 for me.
