Great atmosphere and they have live acts on occasionly

Don't know anything about the George as I have never been there so why ask me about my experience of the George.

Called early evening with family and dog, everything was very good from bar staff to service and atmosphere.Friendly run and well organized with a hood range of beers

Nice local pub. However, too many customers sat around the bar blocking service. Also, it's not a pub if you don't like dogs. Good choice of beers and wines.

Went during the Grahamfest. Smashing small music festival!

The George is a great traditional British pub with a variety of beers and ales. My wife and I frequent this establishment to watch football every weekend, it has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are warm and friendly. Lou the landlady can not do enough for the costumers and their 4 legged friends, it has a great play area for kids. I highly recommend a visit.

OK but a bit lack lustre. A strange rule applied to outside drinks which had to be served in plastic glasses if taken onto lawned seating area. Unfortunately my pint of real ale was average at best. But hey this could have been a one off. Food not being served when I was there, again I'm uncertain if that's always the case. Ample easy car parking, plenty of outside seating In summary, not bad but has potential to be so much more

Not like it used to be pre covid. Not home made anymore. Very poor limited menu and frozen food.

Lovely garden, super coffee (was driving). Lovely outside space for warmer weather with a children's play area.

Chose something simple in the hope it couldn't be ruined. I was wrong. The chips were pre cooked and warmed up. The salad consisted of limp lettuce with a few slices of cucumber in total. The wrap had the consistency of cardboard and the filling was unrecognisable. The table was not cleaned, I had to do this myself with the napkin. Never again!!!

Good pub with social distancing measures in place. Had some food which was very good.

We came in for a 50th birthday. Table service was efficient and friendly - a special shout out to Ella who was lovely. Most of the party ordered rib eye steak. Ella then brought out peppercorn sauce (which we hadn't ordered) as the chef said you can't have steak without peppercorn sauce so I whipped some up for you. What more can I say? Thank you for a lovely meal, perfectly cooked steaks and very reasonable. I think we've found our new local eatery..

The Staff couldn't do enough for us! Great food good portions! Nice atmosphere! Met the chef who came out to say hello after we praised his lovely dinner! All 8 of us really enjoyed ourselfs and will definetley be returning! Thank you!! X

me the wife and 2 children under 5 visited for a change...staff really friendly exercising social distancing without making it awkward...the ale pie was succulent and not covered in 4 inch of crust like most pub pies..huge portions...we came for food and we were well fed...very kid friendly aswell ..this is our new local

A welcoming pub. Landlady Lucy is fun, super friendly and always helpful. We had our daughters 10th birthday party at the George with 11 kids. They had an amazing time and the waitress service was great. My favourite local. Steve & Marilyn.

We called to make a booking of 3 adults and a baby and specifically asked for some space for the pushchair, they gave us a table upstairs, which was difficult to manoeuvre with a pushchair and an elderly parent. There was a high chair set up however this hadn't been cleaned and had dried food all over it, we chose not to use it. When ordering food, I was asked to move round to the other end of the bar to a different till, I was then served by a 'can't be arsed, your asking too much of me' attitude waitress. At the till I was told there was no roast chicken, no mushrooms and no sirloin steak. I had asked for some mash and beans as a side and this caused panic as there was no button for it on the till!Eventually we got an order in to then be told while seated there was no sausage either for the mixed grill, (this was 1.30pm,and the open for food at 12pm)The meals came and were ok, the steak was more like a slice of ham, the mash was lumpy and one of the plates came without onion ring as stated on the menu. Overall it wasn't a great experience and we are very unlikely to return anytime soon!

First time visit for me. My daughter and granddaughter have been before today. Great food, great price, enjoyed and appreciated even more seeing the poor chef suffer in the heat, thank you. Bar staff lovely, young girl so polite and courteous, thank you. Will come again.

Nice, clean pub with a decent pool table, darts board and pleasant beer garden and good parking. Handyish for train station. Staff friendly and helpful.

Sorry to say, its one of the worst place I have ever eaten in. The produce tasted very cheap. There was a lot of confusion over what's vegetarian or vegan, which was cause of cencern for allergy issues. We was told the chips are cooked in the same cooking oil as the meat sausages, and that they only have one chip pan for frying food in, which could mean some vegetarian meals many not actually be vegetarian if they are fried. I was served a very cheap looking vegetarian burger, which tasted very cheap, served with an over cooked jacket potato, and with a very small and dry portion of salad. The words cheap cheap comes to mind. The staff appeared very confused about what was cooked in what oil, and they didn't appear to know the difference between vegetarian and vegan. I can't recommend this place to vegans or vegetarian. Now The meat eaters in our party, they had the Sunday roast, which came with what looked like frozen Yorkshire puddings, and what also looked like frozen or tinned carrots, again the produced appeared very low in quality. The pub in general was busy and it was very noisy, it didn't have a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a meal in. On the up side, the toilet were clean, there is a very large play area for the kids to play in, and plenty of car parking.

Watched the football and then had a great value meal. Staff are friendly and hard working and the food was fantastic for the price. Very family friendly.

popped in here with the family for lunch and was pleasantly surprised , the food was great the drinks were great and the staff were not bad either , the young lady with the nervous laugh seemed to enjoy her job and would certainly come back again , next time im in the area :)

Called in here ahead of a match at Thackley AFC. Nice pub, had Sky Sports and big screens for around. Decent enough standard selection of beers, and very welcoming staff.

Good choice of quality brands. Friendly welcome. Reasonable prices. Intriguing smell of real charcoal grill from the kitchen but alas no time to explore further on this visit.
