We often head out into Somerset from our home in Axbridge, to visit Gardens open for charity, and try to find somewhere nice for lunch or beer in a pub garden, but, as Vegans and non drinking, often end up disappointed. We usually head for somewhere that sounds local and lovely but have to leave because the only Vegan choice on the menu isn't on on,or they don't have any of that fancy alcohol free nonsense. Thank heavens then for a genuine country pub, that still has that magical feel of still being a proper pub but serving lovely homestyle food. We felt very welcome and were amazed to see a menu with Vegan options given equal space on the menu, even on a Sunday! They have three main meals, a choice of three desserts on Sunday and Guinness and Becks blue zero on the bar. We had a Mediterranean veg tart, with roast potatoes, lots of lovely veg and gravy too! For Dessert we had warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce and ice cream, just to make it a special occasion! The staff were wonderful, welcoming, genuinely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended, Vegan or not!

Take away last minute roast. I had rang them during covid and was going to tey and didn't but as iv not been well all weekend and with five kids I thought I'd run down road about 15 kins and grab a take away roast. Pork beef and veg. Unfortunately this time I wasn't that impressed. The people r lovely but the gravy spilt into my bag all over the plastic plates covered in foil, the veg was cold even though I put it all in a heat bag the meat was OK but for £63 for 6 dinners I'm sorry to say I won't be using again. The people seem really nice and the place looks lovely but I don't think I would've enjoyed eating it. I dont normally do bad reviews and it's not bad but alot can be changed like foil trays which keep it hotter, and not takeaway tubs like kebabs use for veg. And maybe for take away prices should be cheaper due to this fact. But I ate it not one child ate it and said mummy I prefer your roasts. Lol.

We went for a Sunday lunch and were very pleased - a lovely experience. The Sunday carvery is plated with meat and some vegetables and then a huge amount of vegetables were brought to our table. We were a table of 5 and unfortunately we had to leave some of the vegetables as there were so many. We were naughty and had a pudding! We were all very pleased with the pud and I had a wonderful meringue. We were looked after so well - friendly and efficient. We've told a number of friends about the Ring O'Bells and they've dined there. They have all been very pleased with their experience.

Arranged to come here on Friday for my brothers 60th birthday treat. Not too local for us but being December and 24 of us it was difficult to find an available venue in Taunton. As it happens we had made an excellent choice. Not all of us had starters but they came out promptly. The main course soon followed and was delicious. Being a large group plus a pub with other dining guests, the service was fantastic. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone wanting good quality home cooked food. Thank you so much Trish and your team. We will definitely come back :-)

We were staying nearby and decided to eat at the Ring O'bells tonight. On arrival the barman was building up a lovely log fire, so cosy. It's a proper pub, with real ales and ciders very nice. It has a full menu along with a specials board. My daughter had the Cajun chicken she loved it, hubby had the Chicken in Stilton sauce, he said it was lovely. I had the beef stew and dumplings off the special board so tasty and the beef melt in your mouth. Both daughter and I had the treacle tart and custard. Yummy. And huge portion. Hubby had the lemon meringue ice cream cake and helped me finish mine? All in all a very enjoyable meal, at very reasonable prices. Very friendly staff. One small thing the side of the pub towards the car park is very dark, although there is a light when you get to the car park. I am disabled and found it difficult to see the pot holes, luckily hubby had keyring torch and daughter used her phone to light my way . As I said small thing on an otherwise great evening.

My partner and I visited a couple of weeks ago purely by chance, as he does a pick up from here on his school run to Crispin School, but never tried it before. Certainly not disappointed, we both had roast beef which came with the usual roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and six different vegetables. It was amazing, we were both full up but could not resist having a dessert, which was priced at just a mere £2 if you had the roast. My Banoffi pie was outstanding, whilst my partner enjoyed his blackberry and apple pie with custard. All beautifully presented. Could not fault it.

I had the prawns to start and cod and chips to follow. My starter was £4.95 and consisted of defrosted shrimps or tiny prawns with bread and butter. Tasteless, watery and a very poor start to my evening. Unfortunately the cod and chips did nothing to improve the experience. The friends I dined with all agreed that the pub did not live up to it's previous reviews. What a shame as we are all local.

Between us we had 2 chicken tikka masala, 1 beef madras and I had a burger in a home made bread roll with chips, fantastically crunchy triple cooked chips. The bread roll was still slightly warm ftom the oven and was delicious, the burger was very juicy. All the curries were thoroughly enjoyed. We were warmly welcomed by the landlord on arrival, and told where our table was. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to bring a menu, before finding one ourselves. We then waited another 15 minutes, before asking one of the team if they would take out order! There were other diners, but it wasn't full, we were in an area on our own, but between the kitchen and the other customers, so we weren't hidden. The starters were not up to much, never had garlic buttered prawns served cold before. However the fillet steak meal was delicious and great value at £18.95 including a drink. No one came to check that everything was alright during the evening, and although our main course was good, sadly it was the rest that makes this an average review.

Poor quality Ham, Eggs and Chips It was 10.15 at night so we went for something’s simple.. The eggs which are usually fried came out poached and were rock hard with hardly any yolk at all.
