We had high hopes for the food due to the excellent reviews but were all very disappointed with our meals. We are wondering if there was a different chef on the night we ate here as our experience was so different to the other reviews. The lasagne had barely any meat in it and was very burnt around the edges. The chicken pie was very dry & the carrots were rock hard with soggy broccoli. Unseasoned, dry mash with no butter or cream in it. Undercooked pastry. Hard to find any positives with any of our 4 meals.

The Ring O Bells at St Issey is our 'go to' pub for when we visit this part of Cornwall. We have eaten here many times over a number of years and we haven't found anything better. The food is very good and sourced locally with many dishes being home made (eg the 'proper steak and ale pie'. The locals are friendly and the service is excellent. Although it has recently changed hands, the food remains consistently good, and there is plenty of it! In our view you will not get better value for money. We ate here on Sunday and returned on Wednesday and the bar area was full. Can't wait to return!!!!

Great Staff, unfortunately the food wasn’t great! We went on Wednesday curry night. Indian mixed starter to share came out mainly burnt. We gave feed back , they did offer free poppadum then free deserts which was good if them, we declined. Main dishes came, chicken korma chicken was dry and chewy. Chicken tikka Marsala slightly better but still dry. Would have expected better.

Please don’t be fooled by previous reviews! There has been a change of landlord in Spring 2023 and quite frankly the way we were spoken to last night, was appalling. When we questioned a portion size (as 2 options were offered) we were told we were talking “bulls**t” and asked to leave! We did stay and did eat most of our food, which was average at its best! The waitress, who was excellent, agreed to remove the one item we questioned, from the bill. It is unacceptable in this day and age to speak to customers in the way we were spoken to. We were not exclusive as other customers were also spoken to in a derogatory manner. We were regular customers throughout the year. During the winter months when the holiday makers aren’t staying he will rely on locals to support his business. We were dining with friends who are also regular visitors to the area so that’s 2 households and their extended family and friends who are extremely unlikely to visit the pub again!

The Ring O Bells is well situated for visiting the Padstow area. We had booked one night B and B in advance. We received a very warm welcome from Chris and were shown to our prepared immaculate room. The room was spacious with everything we needed. We were impressed at the complimentary food and drinkls that were provided particulalrly two home made cup cakes in a little box with a 'welcome' tag on it. Superb! (and yummy). There was a wide range teas on offer and proper coffee for the morning to be made in the cafetiere. The room was comfortable with a sofa and TV. There was a plug in heater provided as this was October. Chris provided us with a key in case he had locked up when we returned from our evening out. We had to go out to a pre-planned event but the pub food we saw looked really good. The en -suite was immaculate. A copious supply of fresh towels, soap and shower gel are provided.Breakfast was a triumph. We helped ourselves to a wide choice of cereal with unlimited toast and coffee. Chris cooked our food to order and he even had vegetarian sausages for me. Breakfast was perfectly cooked with great quality meaty sausages bacon and tasty perfectly cooked poached. eggs. (and genuine HP sauce!)The Ring O Bells have clearly thought long and hard about what their clients want from a B and B and I think they have got it 100% correct.I can thoroughly recommend this place and certainly look forward to returning.

Having visited this pub on several occasions over the last year or so for food and beer, both of which cannot be faulted, we decided to book in to stay in their accommodation for our holiday this September. We found their bedrooms to be very comfortable and quite large for a small country pub however the shower room was 'cosy'.The only one slightly negative point which didn't bother us and that is due to the buildings age the noise from the bar below our bedroom filtered up. Breakfasts were something of an ordeal, if you are on a diet. They were very tasty and plenty to set you up for the day, however the chef/cook would do as much or as little as requested. The landlord Chris can be very proud of his establishment and the friendly and positive attitude of his staff. A most enjoyable stay even if I did put on some extra pounds!!

Whilst away for a week in Cornwall we decided to find somewhere local to eat and this place was rate fairly highly on TA. Cosy pub mainly laid out as somewhere to eat. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We went on a Thursday which appears to be Steak Night Two for £22 which most people appeared to be going for. I went for the Mixed Grill (Steak, Gammon, Lamb Cutlet and Sausage) all good but the quality of sausage let it down a little, nothing massively wrong with it but not as good as the rest of the meat. The wife had Surf and Turf which she enjoyed. Puddings involved a good selection of Ice Creams for her and an Eton Mess for me, both were really good.Only minor niggle other than the sausage was the time it took for the meal to come out, around 45 minutes. To be fair the waitress apologised. If you want somewhere to eat and looking for somewhere with pretty decent grub then this is worth a look.

It is a cosy well loved small pub and was quite busy when we got there. The landlord was very friendly as were his staff who were competent and efficient. We had a simple meal well cooked and supported by good beer. More importantly for me is that they are dog friendly as well. As a result of this we returned on several occasions. On one stop we were a bit later in the evening and the place was already busy and had to wait for a bit however with the ambiance in the pub and the friendly locals that wasn't too onerous. No wonder the landlord displays such pride in his establishment.

We had passed the Ring O'Bells a few times en route between Padstow and Wadebridge and so stopped to have a drink and check it out. Inside looked nice with relaxed dining in the bar or a dedicated restaurant area. It looked popular and had we had more time we would definitely have tried the food!

Visited here twice in our one week stay at St Issey. Both times we had delicious food, with friendly service. Lively pub, popular with locals, so that's a good sign. Yummy food, sausages & mash and fish pie recommended, even the side salad is delicious!Worth a visit.

starters were lovely, let down by main courses which were very average, when they get busy they take a long time to serve you.

Dropped in for a bite to eat and found ourselves in the thick of the local music scene. Food is standard pub fare, but we were kept up to date with the status of our order despite the pub heaving with locals and tourists alike. The bar offers a wide range of local brews too.The band playing were superb! If you go try to plan your visit to coincide with a music night, you won't be disappointed.

Great pub just down the road from the cottage we rented. We called in just as they opened on the off chance and took the last table,it's obviously a popular place at this time of year. Had the home made sausages and mash, highly recommended! Good kids menu, great selection of traditional 'puddings' and all fresh ingredients.

My son had been to this pub a while back so we decided to call in for an afternoon pint. Lovely traditional pub, good pint of Timmy Taylor’s Landlord - bit of a surprise in Cornwall but enjoyable. Nic
