Absolutely awful chips dipping in grease cold burger, was so hard I couldn't even eat it went straight in the bin and the milkshakes wasn't MALTESERS don't know what it was. Wouldn't have fed that to a dog. Waste of money, I would avoid this place.

After waiting 2 hours for my order, we received meat that was raw, 12 chips, missing parts of our order. Our order was £80 and to top it off after contacting the takeaway I was told to f**k off!!!

People were amazing and food pretty good looks a bit dodgy on the outside but so good

Very friendly staff & helpful, would recommend coming here to eat. I arrived in Southampton late, so this place was ideal. Delicious chicken wrap and sweet potato fries meal deal was all good.

Waited an hour 20 minutes. Called up and and after the third attempt ringing through someone finally picked up to say the order will take another 40 minutes. Highly doubt the food will even turn up at this rate and I not expecting good quality because by the sound of the guy who I spoke they barely have a clue how to run a restaurant. Will never order from here again.

Absolute s**t if I’m honest. Missed half my order. No cheese on cheesy fries. Food barely warm. Overpriced dog food. Don’t bother

McDonald’s is 5 star compared to this! Save money - go to a drive through! As a special well done treat we decided to get our child what they wanted - they chose retro burger! Well quite honestly it made McDonalds look like 5 star dining. Half the food was “unavailable” but they didn’t contact us to tell us so substituted with substandard sides (similar to Asda’s substitutes - not similar at all)! They forgot the veggie burger for the child, who was celebrating. The customer service was beyond substandard - rude and unhelpful and then hung up on me. Took 2 hours for us to get the completed order - it was cold and quite honestly wouldn’t feed any of it to my dog and he eats a raw diet so is not picky! The cheese burger that came was a “bacon” burger looking more like ham? To me. When I called and said I was unhappy and wanted a refund I was told why would I refund you have your food???? Not the food I ordered though! It was cold and awful. The Just eat driver was lovely though, bless his. Not his fault! Honestly I would encourage environmental health to go and check the kitchens and for trading standards to check what is actually coming out of the kitchen. Never have I spent so much money, waited so long to remain being hungry because the food was beyond substandard. I am not a advocate for McDonalds or Burger King but honestly Retro burger - you can learn a lot from them. Do yourselves a favour and learn the basics, perfect that and then and only then should you be offering a wider menu and delivery. I do have high standards but I am a reasonable person, I could even accept Brexit and covid as an excuse but there is not an excuse for poor rude customer service. I will chase you for the refund if it doesn’t come through and I will 100% promise I will never recommend nor order from you again. I have more fun playing poo sticks on the river than eating the vile, inedible and disappointing food. So if your thinking should I order they sound cool - save yourself money and go elsewhere and avoid at all costs!

Awful cheap tasteless frozen burger. Frozen chips. Pretty sure they get the stock from iceland. Reminiscent of a layby burger from 1980 so I guess the got the name right. Save yourself the disappointment..

This restaurant gave us incorrect order with items also missing on top of items showing up being incorrect refused to refund or exchange and hung up when called to complain their justification of sending me a random order and not what we ordered was to take a pound off the price. Rude. Con artists. Rip offs. AVOID AVOID AVOID also what showed up I wouldn't feed to a dog

Just what on earth. Who says they will deliver an order in 5-10 minutes and says its left when we're now waiting for over half an hour. Gone to check where the food is but they've closed! No refund though. Absolute bloody joke.

Vegas chilli fries and Miami dirty fries off the chain. Call in and collect, say hi to the beautiful genius who makes them.

Terrible.... Carboot burgers and kebab chips for the cost of eating out. First and last time ill be ordering from retro burger. Serving that s**t should be illegal

I was recommended to this place by a friend as they told me it was good. Food was poor and undercooked and not to mention the rude staff who cussed at me when I asked how long my food would be as it was taking an exceptional amount of time. I got my food and noticed a couple of black hairs!!! This is disgusting and these people clearly do not understand hygiene.

Very unclean. On the outside is perceived to be modern & “retro” but can’t say the same for inside. Food isn’t anything special either.

Have just had burgers from here and they were great very tasty and very filling. Got a meal and did not manage to eat the side as I was very full. The milkshakes are wonderful thick and creamy. The service was very quick and friendly am looking forward to trying different burgers. Thanks very much.

Order turned up 40 minutes late burgers were nice but cold and chips were soggy and ice cold to touch jam and coconut slice os tiny and favorless other then that all good

Food was over hour late, no apology from delivery guy, food was stone cold when arrived and items missing. Called up and was offered refund but asked food be redelivered and hot and all of what paid for, 45 mins later they turned up with only half the food redone and told how to reheat the rest in oven and asked not to leave bad review. Food was cheap, stale, bland and not worth the prices they ask. Had better burgers from road side van than this restaurant. Definitely will not go again and will ensure no one I know eats there either.

Lovely people, good quality service. But the food not so great! Burgers were rushed and thrown together, the meat is the same as what you'll get from a burger van! Personally would save my money- not worth £8 a burger.

First time ordering and we were not disappointed. Arrived on time, friendly delivery. Beautiful Retro House Burger and Dirty Fries, perfect for a snug night in. We will definately be back!

I didn't fancy cooking so my son suggested Retro Burger. We ordered through Just Eat. It gave an estimate if 1.5hr to be delivered. Given the the situation at the moment we were happy to wait. Driver was friendly and polite but I quickly realised there was only 1 burger and two fries delivered. The driver apologised and suggested I call them. Although it seemed like the call was cut short they were apologetic and said they'd get the other burger out asap. 20 mins later it arrived a different driver, very polite and apologised again. When I opened the bag there were two chocolate desserts added. It's a shame to have read the negative comments but our food was good quality, hot and delicious and good customer service goes a long way. Thank you for taking the error in your stride and for the way you and your drivers handled it.

Arrived over two hours late, tasted stale, was cold. Ordered a glass bottle of coke, got a plastic bottle of pepsi. No wonder the chef left 😳

Not good at all,took over 1 hour, rude and looked like a really crap cheap and the bun was seeded cheap bun, but what you would expect for nearly £9

Big burgers, quality meat, super friendly staff, large side orders, great milk shakes! Ate everything so fast we didn’t even have time to take a picture! Will definitely be ordering again. Kids and I loved it!

Our food arrives over an hour late stone cold. We had to heat it up in the oven and it tastes like card board phoned the shop three separate times. At first and hour and 20mins after we ordered they said the driver left a while ago so should be with us any moment (we live 6 minutes away) we waited an extra 30 minutes before calling them back they then said the driver had just arrived back from delivering our food so will need to talk to him and will call us back. When they called us back they couldn't find our order or postcode but had told us the before the driver had already left with it. They then found our ticket and told us to wait 20 minutes and it would be with us. When it finally arrived 2 hours late it was stone cold and tasted like cardboard and our burger wasn't even what we had ordered. The worst takeaway or food I've ever eaten and even worse customer service. Avoid at all cost's.

I ordered from Just eat a vegan burger meal. The meal arrived on time in theory, but by the time it got to me everything was cold. The portions of chips are large, which is why I gave one of the two stars I gave it, the second star is for having vegan options at all. However, it's 2020 there are a lot of exciting things happening with vegan burgers and none of them are reflected in the vegan burger I ate. Had my food not been ice cold when it arrived to me I think I would have given retro burger an additional star, maybe your experience with them will differ, who knows?

It wont last if they make McDonald's burgers and charge proper burger rates, new owners that need to focus on quality rather than a quick profit, a extremely good place to get a burger, destroyed

Really disappointed 😔 Wanted to try somewhere new but I think we will stick to what we know. Our order turned up on time but a burger was missing. We phone and they implied we were lying! Told us the order was check before it left!! So rude no customer at all then she hung up. The price of the food is ridiculous £8.50 for a gourmet burger we thought we were in for a right treat but no the one we got arrived soggy!! Still haven't received the burger or a refund!! The wrap was made out of frozen chicken and the hash browns were the frozen ones. 4 Chicken wings for 6.99 what a joke!! Never will we return and we will make sure our friends and family know too!! Go elsewhere people!!

Oh my gosh! I went here tonight and I was the last customer in for some chips as I was stuck outside in my car. Their chips are possibly the best chips I’ve had in years! Tasty and fresh and an awesome coating that makes them crispy and yummy. Really friendly bunch in there, nothing was too much of an issue for them. I promise I’ll be back when I’m off duty! Thankyou so much!

Pre-Ordered here for my birthday party and the burgers arrived piping hot and absolutely massive! The portions were great and the fresh food really went down well with my guests 👍🙏

Terrible - DO NOT GET DELIVERY- terrible service , we waited 2 hours , still no food, we called up and were told it hasn’t been started yet, no apology- absolutely disgraceful

Nice tasty food but always really late on delivery as they are busy but no message to say they are running late.

As A person that orders Takeaway on regular basis I was totally BLOWN away by quality of the meal. Chips are made out of freshly cut potatoes(thick cut) and portion is more than enough for one person. Burger it self is presented really well , quality of meat is top notch. Taste wise is definitely 10/10 will ORDER AGAIN!!! If you are in the market for Takeaway burger this is your PLACE. You will NOT be disappointed Restaurant Quality as takeaway. K.W

Delivery was quick and the wrap was lovely. Felt that the burgers were quite small and overcooked, which left them a little tasteless. Quite expensive for what it was. Having read the other reviews, it may well have just been a bad day, however I wouldn't order again.

Really Tasty High Quality Food, Delivered in no time at all! Would Highly Recommend, slightly more expensive, but you have to compromise with higher prices if you're ordering a higher quality product, well worth what I paid and will be ordering in future! This is the place to get your burger cravings sorted.

We love love LOVE this place. Better than Raffles and Nutri-box: quick, hot, very tasty and wonderful quality control. They pay attention to special diets and requests and seem to always arrive 20 minutes before our estimated delivery time. Love them.

Retro Burger is absolutely the best takeaway in Southampton !!!😍😍😍 Food delicious 😋 everything very fresh , meat very high quality. Just like Five Guys... BUT BETTER!!! Think juicy burger patties and crispy fries that aren’t full of grease. These guys know what they are doing. My brother and I got the World Cup special and it was glorious. I am so glad that these guys are just down the road from me. It’s great to have a legit burger place that isn’t overpriced and in a “trendy” area.

Quality meat in amazing burgers 🍔

The best take-away burger I have had. Served in a foil wrap and on proper brioche/ brioche style buns and THICK patties. Fries are served with skin and are cooked to perfection. Definitely worth your money.
