We ate here a couple of times and the food was always nice tasting, the down sides being small portions of some dishes, price for what you get and the cutlery was a little dirty. Other than that the staff are friendly and I'd eat...

Portion sizes were small considering the price of each dish. Really disappointing as we paid almost £30 a head. The cheese board was the smallest I've had - 3 small pieces of cheese, a few sticks of celery, 8 biscuits and some chutney - definitely...

My friend and I were staying over at the hotel on a spa package of which an evening meal in The Lawrence was included. We'd booked in for 8pm but it wasn't really necessary as there were only three other tables eating at that time and it is a big restaurant. We were greeted and seated by the manager who also took our drinks order and said he would bring us a cocktail menu. He never returned so assume he forgot about us as the waiter who took our food order then had to ask us again if wanted any drinks. Food was nice and arrived promptly after ordering. I had the rib-eye which was cooked exactly how I'd ordered and the peppercorn sauce was great. Presentation was also very good. My friend ordered the lamb and mentioned it could have been a bit warmer. As part of our package we had an allowance of £26 each to spend on anything from the menu, the starters are overpriced for what you get (£7.50 for one slice of game terrine and half a slice of toast) and side dishes have to be ordered separately with some dishes, so including drinks it can get quite expensive.

What a fantastic day! Greated by lovely staff at reception and then by Andy in the spa who was more than happy to help with anything, great food, great drink, great company :))))

Disappointed that this didn't offer freshly prepared food surely a restaurant of this calibre should a reheated dinner is not what I expected when paying £26.00 per head.

Really poor in every sense, cold, poorly presented. Really unappetising food, strange combinations of food and all very bland. Staff also unhelpful, inept and disinterested.

Tijdens ons verblijf in het QHotel in dit restaurant gegeten. Eten is prima, maar ambiance is minder. Grote zaal met weinig aankleding. Was eerst te koud en toen de verwarming aanging weer te warm. Bediening is prima.

For as far as wetherspoons go the Samuel Hall is a really nice pub. Experienced staff who have been there a good while keep the lines well, the venue clean and the patrons safe. The food usually comes out to spec

Stayed with a sports team for three night found the staff and hotel excellent. Special mention to Niamh (breakfasts) and Tony (evening meals) for being extremely efficient and polite and attentive.

A large spotlessly clean cafe, serves a superb range of breakfast and lunch time staples along with a good selection of cakes to go with the mid morning coffee. The prices are a touch above average but the quality of food and drinks is excellent and the portion sizes plentiful. The staff are always friendly, the service is fast & efficient and the atmosphere nice and relaxed with a varied clientele. The cafe is also linked to a local charity and is highly recommended

Great Nottingham pub find! Staff were so friendly and helpful! Food was amazing (even our non vegan friend said the tacos were the best he'd had) and a good selection of drinks. If we're ever back in Nottingham we all said we'd be visiting every day!
