We stopped here for a snack whilst waiting for a boat back to St Mary's. We both opted for starters as we weren't hungry enough for a main meal. Both were just the right size and delicious. The service was excellent. Judging by the number of customers there this is a popular venue.

Whilst the Nee In. Doesn’t have the spectacular scenery of some of the cafes on the island it just has a lovely quiet, tranquil calm. A lovely feel to it, the staff were kind and attentive, we did go into the bar to pay and there was a wait to pay our bill but there didn’t seem to be many people serving and they were serving inside and out because the weather was stunning. But they were polite and courteous and apologetic if we had waited. The food was delicious. I had the chicken Caesar burger which was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone as they brought us out food, drinks and sauces. A really lovely visit. Thank you.

Spent 3 nights here. The breakfast was exceptional and the evening meals we had were good. The resident chef cooks on an outside grill certain nights of the week. This was very popular and we could see the lobster and sardines etc being prepared and cooked. Possibly the only issue we had was the lengthy wait for our steaks and the fact that were not cooked the way we ordered them. But saying that a positive review is being left due to the attentive staff and the way the stay went

We went to the New Inn many times during our stay.Every time we experienced a wonderfully genuine, warm welcome. This is the best eatery on the island in our opinion, for food quality, value for money and customer care.Think we tried nearly all of the mains dishes and we were "wowed" on each occasion.Obviously the New Inn has a very talented team in the kitchen as well as front of house.Times are tough with the covid restrictions, but we felt very safe and also well cared for when we visited.Whether you visit for coffee, lunch, dinner or drinks...expect top service and a warm welcome at the New Inn.Special thanks to Sophie and "the man of Kent!"See you all next year.

We ate here for lunch, dinner twice, and take out fish and chips once. All the meals were very good and the staff are really on the ball. You can also sit outside on the hill and they will bring drinks out to you. The menu is varied and there is something to suit everyone. Perhaps more fish and salad options would be our only suggestion to improve it.

The New Inn is very much a pub/Inn and indeed the hub of the community with sticky tables and carpet to match in the pub area. The type of place to go have a drink on Boxing Day or drinks outside on a summers day. The menu is typical pub grub and I was surprised by a lack of shellfish on the menu and overheard other diners around me make the same comment. They talk about crab and lobster but there was (is) only “Crab macaroni & cheese” on the menu in that category. My meal was ok but unmemorable and of the three establishments to eat on the Island this was the least noteworthy as far as menu and ambiance was concerned, perhaps just good to grab a drink. They do sell ice creme cones though which is fun on a warm day and is an ideal place to take kids.Breakfasts were pretty standard at the Inn and I regret not having gone to have breakfast one day at the Ruin Beach cafe of Brunch at the Flying Boat.

This is a very nice pub. It is a bit "Tresco" (if you have been there you will know what I mean) but they serve excellent food, drinks and ice creams. We have visited for coffee, tea, ice cream, a nice pint of ale, wine, soft drinks and lunch. Some things are rather pricey though. On a recent visit I was charged £2.75 for half a lime and soda which was rather steep I thought for a bit of cordial and soda water (Hell Bay charged me 70p for the same). We have many years experience of eating at the New Inn and return to eat there several times each Spring and Summer knowing what standard to expect and liking its reliability. This year we chose to take friends on their first visit to the islands and had an expectation that they would enjoy their lunch. As a party of ten people we knew we would be well accommodated and that the menu was sufficiently varied for everyone to find something they liked. We were slightly surprised to find a complete change of staff and that, despite our number, there were plenty of tables free even though this was the height of the season. The food was adequate but not quite as good as we have become accustomed to but when one of our guests (a senior executive with a major international company) went to the bar he asked the manageress for some salt and pepper he was ignored by her. He then asked for additional tomato ketchup for the children only to be told that “ there was plenty on the table”. On re-asking for the pepper and salt she said “I heard you the first time”.

The service is not good, staff sometimes polite but mostly quite abrupt. One of the staff in the Dining Room drifted around in a daze and seemed to object to being asked to do anything. Reception was hardly ever manned and when it was we were mostly ignored as we went in, no acknowledgement of our presence. There did not seem to be a Manager in post, we were told that this post was being shared by two female staff and we saw one of them just once and then not actually in the pub, so no management of the staff. The breakfast was barely adequate with little choice of fruit and cooked breakfast often overcooked. Several times we were served with something other than that we had ordered. We visited here most evenings of our recent one week trip to Tresco, the food was a little hit or miss, some good, others not so, but despite this, we loved spending time there, there is a great bar, we all enjoyed the family games on the dart board and pool table, staff were lovely, an enjoyable time had by all.

Called in to this pub for light refreshment after visiting the Abbey Gardens. We enjoyed two pints of excellent Cornish Ale and perused the meals available from the extensive menu for our next visit.Although like the island in general prices are higher than the other islands this pub had a old world feel about it and welcoming staff behind the bar.

Close to the beach but wildly overpriced for really basic fare and their “artisan gelato” is disgusting. We tried three flavours and they were all terrible, but the chocolate was so atrocious we couldn’t finish it. Ask yourself when the last time you didn’t finish an ice cream was!

On holiday for a week and we visited 3 times. First time was for a drink only, second for an evening meal and thenthirdnfir Sunday lunch. On all occasions, service was friendly, attentive (without being in your face or false) and courteous. Our evening meal was a beautiful piece of grilled haddock in a very tasty sauce with vegetables and potatoes. We also ordered a side of truffled mac n cheese. It was absolutely amazing. Sunday lunch was probably the best I've ever eaten as a pub dining experience and I've eaten a fair few in my 59 years. We opted for the 3 meat version of beef, pork and turkey. The vegetable selection was interesting and perfectly cooked. The giant yorkshire pudding was delicious but for me, the roast potatoes and gravy were the jewels in the very large crown. There was no room for pudding but on our evening visit, we did share the amaretto chocolate torte, which was fantastic 😀. For the quality and portion sizes, I would say The Pityme Inn is excellent value for money.

Had a lovely meal,Rump Steak& Croft Burger, then sweets to finish. Great food and service. Shame the weather wasn't a little better as we would have sat outside after our meal.

Tasty - stopped in to grab a takeaway sausage roll and iced bun. Sausage roll was excellent and will be returning! Coffee was also good. Easy free car parking outside.

The staff were very friendly. The hot drinks were alright and the cakes were alright. They didn't rush us. The whole atmosphere was really nice and lovely. I didn't have to raise my voice to speak to my boyfriend who has a hearing impairment which is a hearing aid.
