Came for the football. Really nice pub, loads of screens. Good chat with staff. Suprised how quiet it is though, would definitely recommend for watching the game. Looking forward to popping back and trying that carvery.

Just played a gig here, we had a great night. landlady and all the staff were lovely, a great atmosphere immediately as you walk in,a super place. I didn't eat here,but there were lots of people that had so that's a good advert if ever I saw one !!

We have stayed here very recently. Well what a fantastic comfortable clean friendly family ran hotel. The manager was lovely beyond polite. Anything we needed no trouble ideal for somewhere within easy access to places to visit. And also hsppy to support independant chains. Always need support thanks again to all staff at the cornubia inn.

I have drank in the Cornubia for many years, but have only eaten there once before tonight. The last time I ate there was dreadful ( 2022) and tonight was no different I'm sorry. I had the steak, which was good to be honest but the rest of it was uneatable. The chips were vile, no peppercorn sause, and when I asked for some it never came. My other guest had the goats cheese, it was disgusting, even the salad if you can call it that was bone dry, no dressing and so bland. Then to the fish and chips, wow, again the chips were either frozen and cooked in fat or were reheated, I can't quite tell how they were cooked but they were dreadful. £27 for a piece of meet as the rest was inedible. £17 for fish & chips and it was the smallest cheapest fish you could imagine. So twice we have eaten here and both times have been a bad experience. Avoid

Stayed here for 3 day it is great place to stay do not do breakfast had a room charge but after that all was good staff friendly and helpful

Only went to pub, bad smell, bad service, wouldn’t go here.

Went here 5 years ago and experienced friendly service. Good drinks. Nice fresh decor. This time we had food, which was fine but perhaps not as good as I'd expect for the price. I appreciate the parking is not under the pub's control, but the machine is currently out of order, which means you have to pay on the app and the pub cannot give a refund (which they can do if the machine is working). The price on the parking app was more than stated on the sign outside.

Great Food in a nice modernized pub. They have many food specials (Fish Fryday for 10£) and entertainment like live music on Fridays, pool table, air hockey, darts. Lots of beer from draught. Wouldn’t recommend the rooms though unless you’re on a budget and don’t mind tiny rooms with one side of the bed on the wall, warmth from the kitchen below while no air conditioning and windows don’t stay open. Depending on the location of your room you can hear the pub until 2am. Spots of dirt on the wall. Toilet seat is much too small for the toilet but at least the shower is great.

Located on a thoroughfare. Our room was nice, good facilities, enough for one night. Good food, live music in the evenings. Cozy pub. Friendly staff. No breakfast.

We stayed here for two nights and had dinner one evening. Excellent hotel room, nothing to complain about. It's nice that there is parking available. The food was delicious, generous portions. The vegetarian puff pastry tart with beetroot and goat cheese was super delicious and shows that they have also mastered vegetarian pub food.

Came here with friends for the Sunday carvery. The restaurant area was clean with very comfortable seats. We all chose the beef and turkey, which was perfectly cooked. There was a good selection of vegetables, huge yorkshire puddings and delicious roast potatoes. A choice of sauces and plenty of gravy. A very reasonable cost as well. Will definitely be going here again

Happened to be passing and dropped in for a meal with friends. Fantastic welcome as we walked through the door from Dee from behind the bar. A warm and welcoming smile made us immediately feel at ease and ready to enjoy being there. Nothing false about it, a lovely young lady who genuinely wanted to provide excellent customer service and she very much did. As far as the food, there was a good range of home cooked food + a specials board. The 4 of us all had something different and all 4 were very happy with our meals. Miranda, the Chef in the kitchen produced an exceptionally good Venison in red wine pie, mash and beans, as my choice, home cooked and yummy. We intended to have a pud but we were all so full after the main course we didn’t feel able, but if we had I am sure they would also have been excellent. Oh and it was all at a very reasonable price. So if your looking for somewhere to eat and your not a hoity toity a-la-carte tiny portions arranged like some sort of artistic display sort of person then for good honest food and a warm enjoyable atmosphere then give this place a chance - you won’t be disappointed. Sincere thanks to Dee and Miranda for providing great service. PS. The Guinness was one of the best pints had outside of Ireland

Went today with my family and had the best carvery ever lots of vegetables to choose from and a good selection of meat staff super friendly and cheerful a little gem of a pub can't wait to return

If you value your safety steer clear of this place I'm 74 and was attacked by the lease holder and the pub manager I'm fully disabled but these brave people attacked me causing severe bruising from my right shoulder to my left hip I rest my case!@!!!!!!

Today’s carvery was absolutely delicious. We go to many carvery’s from all over Cornwall (Norway inn, fox and hound, shire in to name a few) I have to say today’s carvery was definitely the best one yet! The meats (gammon turkey and beef were cooked beautifully, the vegetables were fresh - they tasted delicious, the roast potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the mash potatoes were also perfectly mashed and soo creamy! Not to mention their show stopper giant homemade Yorkshire puddings! As for the gravy what can I say… the gravy was well balanced not too thick and not too watery. It had the perfect consistency with ample seasoning! The whole carvery was full of flavour and incredibly moorish! Prices are fair and accommodating to couples, families and social gatherings. Well worth a visit! Pre booking advised though!

Me and my girlfriend came to stay for a weekend in Hayle and stopped in for a drink and really enjoyed our visit. Phoebe and chris was really welcoming and looked after us well, we even ended up staying for their pub quiz. Highly recommended if you are passing the area.

Came for drinks with friends at cornubia, a women called deneka served us she was very welcoming and friendly. She is a laugh and you can have a giggle wit her. Awesome bar manager. Will be going by to the pub.

Great pub with excellent entertainment. Staff are brill and great to chat with even when off duty. Phoebe is a delight and great fun to be served by always welcomed with a smile.

A really nice pub. The girl behind the bar was very friendly & efficient. It also showed the football- the reason we went in. Only spoilt by a Man United fan trying to belittle customers watching the match. I’m guessing he was a local so not the fault of the pub. Despite this, I’d recommend a visit

a nice classic local pub with its own atmosphere and friendly locals serves food witch is very good imo we had the Sunday carvery which was really good other meals look good to ,a limited menu imo but the pub trade is still suffering for lack of staff but you get that in a lot of pubs ,I would highly recommend this pub staff are polite and will to help

Room was lovely, clean spacious, shower was lovely. Bed extremely comfortable. Bit disappointed with limited menu as it was our Wedding Anniversary night and unfortunately it was "Burger night"! Also the decking was very slippery due the fact it was pissing with rain. My husband slipped and bruised his hip quite bad We didn't stay for breakfast.

Average meal, drinkers were pretty rough characters, swearing ect. I would not bring my kids here or even return myself.

I know the Cornubia in Bristol quite well, I also read about the Hayle built SS Cornubia that provided a steam packet service to connect the two ports. Therefore when walking around Hayle I felt it would be rude not to call in for a drink. Our visit was midweek, mid afternoon when the pub was quiet. It was bright clean and tidy, and I would call in again next time I visit Hayle.

Popped in before we headed home from our weekend away, lovely pub with very polite staff. Only downside was the prices, I found them to be a little more than other places that we had been. But overall it was a nice experience.

Paid our first visit today for Sunday Carvery, which was magnificent. Generous portions of tender good quality meat and a wide array of beautifully prepared tasty vegetables. Probably the best carvery we've ever had and for less than a tenner. Definitely worth a repeat. Staff were all great too. Can't fault anything about our experience here today.

I know the landlord and landlady very well and they have changed the pub to make it one of the nicest places to go out and watch a band on a Friday or Saturday 10/10

Ate here 19th and 20th April. Tuesdays 33% off food bill. Had a really tasty steak and came with full trimmings, mushrooms, onion rings, salad and chips. Son had beer battered cod another sizeable portion and you could see the freshness of the fish. Really friendly young lady serving behind bar very warm and welcoming. 20th April great value carvery reduced by 33% only £6.66 choose 1 of 2 meats, lovely selection of veg and potatoes with Yorkshire pudding. Only disappointment no dessert available when carvery so we didn't stay after the meal. Car park at rear and parking on rd nearby. Definately worth a visit or 2 when in area.

Great mid week all you can eat buffet breakfast. Food perfectly cooked and eggs cooked to order on arrival so yolks were lovely and runny. Choice of fried and/or toasted bread. Great value for money and the quality of ingredients was good too. In addition to the cooked breakfast there was a wide range of croissants, muffins, pastries, yogurts, fruit, jams, marmalades. Unfortunately my appetite wasn't big enough to extend myself beyond my fry up on this occasion. Would definitely recommend!!!

I h ave to admit i am one of those reviewers who wont hesitate to give a poor review when things are bad but i dont do the same when things are good. Well time to redress the balance.The Sunday Carvery at The Cornubia is exceptiinally good. Lots of meat with each serving. I had Turkey and beef which just fell apart. Himself had Pork and Turkey....... I know he enjoyed it as he refused to speak through the entire meal (a sure sign of success )........ The veg was fresh, flavoursome abundant and really tasty. Gorgeous roast potatoes and dauphinoise dish and enormous home made Yorkshire puddings. At £9.99 it was outstanding value - It knocks Trevaskiss into a cocked hat. If you havent yet been to the Cornubia Sunday carvery you are missing a treat. Sorry i dont have a photo, i was so busy eating i forgot to take one

Popped in here just for a beer during holiday in South Cornwall, Pleasant atmosphere and clean tables. Good beer choice

Like a pub in the 60s no dogs, no blacks, no irish. Racist staff. Haven’t let me watch the football in peace. Horrible place.

MOST UNWELCOMING PUB I’VE EVER BEEN TO. Once I entered the Cornubia pub I was greeted by what only I could explain as the rudest, long haired barman I’ve ever had the misfortune of meeting. After taking a seat I ordered drinks via the app due to COVID, this is a normal thing and I understood we would have to wait as it’s table service. Lucky there was a lovely younger lady on the bar that came over and apologised for the short delay (The only positive I have from my visit). Myself and my friends all would have loved to reviewed the food here, but sadly with being treated the way we had been by that awful barman, who quite frankly should be sacked after the way he greets and speaks to people, we no longer wanted to stay in this pub. I myself have never been made to feel this way. Highly recommend not going here nor staying, unless you want to feel unwelcome and belittled.

Just wanted to sit down have a coffee and a drink and check out menu for the evening. Pub empty apart from 2 other couples. Met by the most miserable terse man who showed us to the only table that had 4 backless stools to sit on and wouldn't give us another table even though all other tables in pub were empty and a perfectly nice table for two with comfortable chairs was available in the corner. Asked for a black coffee and a large diet coke, given one of the smallest black coffee's I've ever had and charged over £6 for the privilege. Unfriendly and totally bland atmosphere and a rip off. We went to another pub that evening not so very far away, friendly, welcoming, 2 lovely meals and 2 drinks for just under £21.

I had a Sunday roast delivered from the Cornubia. It arrived a little early , which was nice. Excellent quality , well cooked . Plenty of vegetables , and very tender meat . I would highly recommend their delivery service .

As with all carvery your taking a risk at getting a poor meal but the Cornubia inn delivered one of the best carvery I've ever had. I will be visiting again try more of the menu.

Came in on our holiday last year. Lovely landlord, introduced me to tarquins blackberry gin. Came in on our holiday this year and just been charged over £19 for 2 double gin and tonics! Plain gin by the way, no blackberry in sight. Sorry are we in London or something. Feel like i have been ripped off. Maybe these are your new tourist rates. We are regulars to this area on our holidays but wont be visiting this pub again!

We went here a couple of times because this where the local drinkers frequent. The locals and bar staff a re really friendly and we enjoyed 2 local musicians belting our Cornwall see shanties. Thanks for making us northerners feel welcome !

The pub has changed a lot since we last visited. Both food and service was excellent. Lovely atmosphere. Children well catered for too. Recommended!

I live locally but this is the first meal I have had here, usually I just go there for drinks.We were seated quickly and were told to order at the bar when we were ready. We all had starters, I had the prawn cocktail which was very nice, though the prawns were quite small there were plenty of them. For my main I had the pork chop with bubble and squeak which was on the special and it was very tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meal.We will certainly be back again. Great service and great food.

As we are staying in the accommodation above made sense to have a meal in here, I was surprised at how good the service is and the food is brilliant. My wife had a burger and I enjoyed the surf and turf. Proper pub food at a good price. Presentation and service cannot be faulted.

The food is delicious, fresh and homemade at a reasonable price. I ordered a homemade beef burger with homemade fresh chips and coleslaw. It arrived beautifully presented, we were asked if our meal was ok and made to feel very welcome. The food was piping hot and delicious, definitely worth the wait.

Called in with the wife and kids to watch the footy. Fantastic little pub very nice and friendly staff and locals. Will definitely go again great pub.

Called in here to take a look at the menu as advertised on there website but was just told Try next pub! Really should get there web details up to date or even have a sign up. Staff did not seem interested or bothered.

We stayed here as a one night stop over on a walking holiday, we were 3 couples. The rooms varied from a double so small you had to climb over the bed to get to the other side, a twin instead of a double and a very good sized double. It was an extremely hot night and there is no aircon (not surprisingly, wouldn’t expect it) and No fan, one of us slept on the floor under the window to get a breeze. The breakfast was extremely average, served by 2 men who were clearly not chefs, and obviously sourced from the cheapest possible provider, really disappointing and definitely not a good start to the day

Kevin is a very hospitable host.. we arrived on a cold evening.. he had a logburner glowing to warm us up!! Fabulous homemade food.. highly recommended

We dropped in briefly on a busy Friday night. Service was fast and friendly. All the customers we met were chatty and welcoming.

This centre of town pub was reasonably busy when we visited and with only one person serving it took a a few minutes to get served. We also eat here, the food was very good, hot and reasonable price. The beer quality wasn't the greatest.

Great pub to watch the football whilst on holiday - several large screen tv's around the pub, which does get quite busy on match days, so a bit of atmosphere and friendly banter. Good selection of ales and pleasant staff.

Arrived late in town and hungry after a long drive. This was the first place we tried, and we really struck lucky. Straightforward pub food, but done really well and truly delicious.

Went in for a drink. Prices reasonable. Clean and tidy. Saw some people having a burger and it seemed ok. Didn't try food ourselves as we were not hungry. Locals seemed friendly enough. Would drop in again

Magnífico anfitrión que realmente quería por favor, trajo un cuenco de agua para el perro, que era agradable. Creo que el lugar había sido tomada y fue un nuevo menú, hamburguesas, patatas fritas, etc. Sin embargo, envolturas y el especial fue casa jamón cocidos (2 rodajas) con 2 huevos y patatas fritas por £4.95 sabroso, barato y excelente relación calidad-precio

Being our local pub we visit here fairly often. Always a good atmosphere and everyone is very friendly. Great for watching sports as they have sky sports and bt sports with a few different screens. There is normally a band playing most weekends. Reasonably priced drinks with special offers on normally. And they let us bring in the dogs which is a great bonus!

Visited here recently to see a local artist. Plenty of room for dancing. Good selection of drinks and real ales. Live music in a regular basis. Also large TVs for sport.

The service wasn't great. It's one of these pubs that you don't want your kids going too. In the day amazing, at night terrible

We popped in for drinks during the football. There was an excellent selection of ales and ciders. It has been renovated since we last came to Hayle. Unfortunately on this occasion they were not serving food because the menu looked really nice.

This pub has had a makeover in the last couple of years and is now fresh and bright. It is a nice place to sit and chat without a tv in your face. A log burner makes it cosy in the winter. The food is good too.

We enjoyed dinner at this restaurant, the food was very good, the prices were reasonable and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. And our very well behaved dog was allowed to lie quietly under the table. We are amazed at the attitude of so many British restaurants who exclude well behaved dogs. Most German restaurants and shops allow well behaved dogs. Thanks Cornubia for being so sensible and allowing well behaved dogs in.

Friendly atmosphere. My daughter had an all day breakfast and I went for a baguette. There was a good choice of snacks and meals.

Haven't eaten here but told food is good. Décor is great - duck egg blue paint and slate floors - why can't all pubs in Cornwall be like this as lots of them seem to be stuck in the 1970's with the ubiquitous patterned red carpet and dark wood. So refreshing to discover a public house with up to date décor - could have been in Brighton where they have candles in wine bottles on the tables and comfortable sofas. The band gigging that night were lively and talented.

If you want to wait ages for rank food this is the place to be. We visited (3 adults and 3 children) tonight. Ordered our food, sat back and waited and waited and waited. When asking how much longer to wait we were told 5 minutes. Different time scale to the one I use applies here. The lad behind the bar was embarrassed at the length of time it was taking.when the food eventually arrived it was awful. The burgers were cooked so much they could have easily been mistaken for a cinder, the chicken dry and inedible. Chips were ok. More went back than was eaten. Kids enjoyed the ice cream. Chef came out and apologized for the wait. He said a table of six had come in just before us. May the Lord help anyone who goes when it's busy. Enter at your peril.
