Very nice food staff members along with manager and owner are very kind and professional.

Our local curry restaurant and we love it both to eat in and for takeaways. It's recently had a refurbishment and is looking very nice. The owner is courteous and hospitable and the food is excellent - I think the owners are from Pakistan so there are some slightly different, delicious flavours. Strongly recommend. V good value.

Best lamb biriyani in bristol and the staff was super friendly and nice

Eleven of us visited yesterday evening for my husband's birthday celebrations. The food was declared by everyone as the best they had had in a long time (and we all go out for curry very regularly). Service was prompt, efficient, friendly and helpful. We were a mix of meat, fish and veggie eaters and all were satisfied. The portions are not enormous, just right, there was very little left. My king prawn dekar was excellent, just a nice bit of heat and lots of flavour with three big prawns. The fish pakora starter was also lovely, squidy batter and nice flaky fish inside. The garlic naans are very garlicky! There's a short wine list, reasonably priced. In fact the whole meal was very good value. We'll definitely visit again next time we're in the area.

Probably the worst service and attitude I’ve experienced. We had to ask time after time for someone to take our order whilst the owner/manager sat with his other male servers eating at 8.30 prime time, they seemed completely unconcerned that customers needed serving or that customers generally come first before staff eating. The other staff either couldn’t speak English or take orders, we waited an hour for food, the samosa was stonecold inside, pancake flat onion bhaji crispy outside wet in the centre. Main course finally arrived rice and naan bread sat on the table for 10 mins while we waited for the curries and repeatedly asked 4 times for cutlery. By the time that arrived the rice was cold, the Dansak and Dopiasa looked identical sauce which tasted like it had been made with Heinz tomato soup as the base. The owner/ manager got angry when we got up and helped ourselves to cutlery and started shouting at us. We said we would like to pay for our drinks and leave. He continued to shout at us in front of everyone in the restaurant while we got our coats. Quite possibly the worse service I’ve experienced, no people skills, rude and clearly not interested in customers.

Such a rude manager/owner, an hour wait, we repeatedly asked to order food and get cutlery, resulted in us being shouted at by the host. Diabolical, no respect for customers he sat eating next to us while we waited and waited for service, when we complained he said we should be grateful as he gave us a bigger table… Awful food, rude staff, I don’t waste your money when there are so many good restaurants.

Good food, chaotic service. Had to chase for drinks and food orders (e.g. ordered 3 drinks but only 2 arrived), but otherwise great. A step up from your usual Indian restaurant

We had the onion bhaji and vegetable samosas to start which were both excellent and even the side salad was delicious with a nice bit of lemon and coriander mixed through. We had the lamb with ocra and a butter chicken as mains. Both lovely and fresh, deliciously spiced and a beautiful texture. The Peshawar naan was an outstanding favourite. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will definitely return back in the future.

Went here 2 weeks ago with family and really enjoyed it and the owners are lovely.

I've had a few takeaways from here recently, and I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. The food is truly amazing, full of distinctive flavours and of great quality. I'm looking forward to dining inside with friends sooner than later. I wish the new ownership all things good, and so glad it's now back to a restaurant again.

I have come to the restaurant since it was taken over by sunny and uzma and I can honestly say the food and the atmosphere is exceptional for someone who has eaten in many Indian restaurants all around the world this has to be one of my favourites the ingredients are fresh and homemade which adds to the enjoyment of eating in this great family run restaurant

Been here a few times take away and eat in. Always had lovely meal with nice atmosphere inside with comfortable chairs attentive service. Pakora and tandoori mixed grill recommended by our group.

This restaurant is really superb. The poppadoms were fresh and crunchy and the pickle tray was delicious. I ordered a lamb achari and the lamb was tender and the sauce fragrant and tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful, with nothing being too much trouble. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants in Bristol.

Fresh ingredients cooked to order, very delicious foods, kind and friendly people. I have been twice now and always felt a warm welcome. I gave 5 out of 5 but would give 10 out 10. Strongly Recommended.

I live round the corner from Redland Tandoori and have visited once for my birthday with a group of 11 friends on a Saturday night and recently with a takeaway with my parents. Both times the food has been really tasty and a great price. My parents said it was the best Peshwari Naan they have had!! Highly recommended to eat in or as a takeaway and they are really friendly too. I’ll be back and will be my first choice for a local curry.

Found this absolute gem of a restaurant by luck after helping my daughter move into student digs nearby. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful with menu advice. The food was fantastic I had the tandoori mixed vegetables, pilau rice, naan bread and a lovely side order of chickpea cheekar chana, my daughter had chicken Korma - everything tasted wonderful. Highly recommend, and I'll definitely come back.

Recently opened family restautrant. A real gem among the overpriced places in Bristol. I tried many times in the last 2-3 months and I never been let down by the quality and all that comes for a reasonable price. If you would like to eat a delicious indian food than this is your place.

Best curry we have had in years. So so much better than under previous management. The service was attentive and mindful of my extreme allergy. We ordered a chef special - chicken tikka dish which the owner made hotter to my order. All the sauces were fresh and distinct and used ghee rather than oil so not greasy at all. The garlic naan was perfect and rice also perfectly cooked. Sag paneer and tarka all absolutely deliciousCouldn't fault it. Much prefer the new bright interior too. It will be our new regular curry house.

Had a few takeaways from these guys now - consistently excellent. Flavours are bold and portions are generous. The sides and starters also just miles above others for quality. Also excellent value. #1 in Bristol for me.

We couldn't have asked for a better service tonight. The food was also SUPERB!!!! From the moment we stepped inside, we were made to feel at home by Uzma who was running things (it was very, very busy with lots of people eating and chatting... great atmosphere) We ordered a starter and main and drinks . .. my friend ordered a mango lassi and when it came he wasn't very pleased... Uzma, was very apologetic and went into the kitchen and made a replacement herself and it was superb!! We had Chicken Govindpuri, which was melt in the mouth unctuous and umami ...all in one... we also had the Punjabi lamb which was superb...succulent juicy lamb with a mop up sauce to die for. We had plain naan, warm, sweet and buttery...perfect for picking up the succulent meat and sauces... We were very impressed! The new owners are doing a great job and the food has greatly improved from the previous owners. Finally, an Indian restaurant in Redland that's worth its salt!!!!

Delicious meal enjoyed with three friends at Redland Tandoori last night. Food was very high quality, service was exceptional and great value. We did not have a reservation but I would recommend booking & will definitely be returning soon.

What A lovely gem of a place. The chicken tikka starter was out of this world and the ginger lamb dish I had for mains was outstanding. The Service was great and personable with a nice family ran atmosphere. I very much look forward to going back.

Such a hidden gem. The Best indian meal we've ever had. We normally 'do their takeaway' and know its good. But we decided to eat in today and were just blown away by the taste, presentation, service and restaurant. We enjoyed a varied selection off the menu and enjoyed every mouthful.... even took an additional takeaway for our son after the meal for him to enjoy Would definitely 100% recommend!

Brilliant authentic South Asian restaurant - a hidden gem in Bristol! We’d given up a long time ago trying to find an authentic South Asian restaurant outside of Brick Lane in London, however, after hearing about Redland Tandoori’s recent popularity and reading the reviews since the restaurant changed hands we were obliged to give it a try. Firstly, the interior is beautifully decorated and the ambience is a friendly buzz with traditional Hindi music playing in the background - a nice touch but not too loud to drown out conversations. We also noted the furniture is especially comfortable and you can sit comfortably for a long time, unlike the wooden chairs most restaurants seem to stock. It seems the restaurant is family run and the service is very attentive and welcoming and we weren’t rushed while picking through the extensive menu. To start, we had poppadums which were light and not too oily, they were paired with a selection of fresh and flavourful chutneys which we thoroughly enjoyed. For the mains we ordered lamb jalfrezi, red snapper balti, pilau rice, garlic naan, peshwari naan, coke and a mango lassi. Firstly, the mango lassi was a perfect complement to the meal, it was very fragrant and creamy and was the perfect level of sweetness - it was a very generous serving too (see picture below). The lamb was beautifully cooked and tender and paired with a rich sauce and vegetables, The red snapper balti was also very impressive and flaked apart easily with a fork but wasn’t mushy. What sets this restaurant apart is each dish had it’s own distinctive flavours and spices - visibly they looked similar so we were apprehensive but by taste they were completely unique and perfectly suited to the lamb and fish. The pilau rice was very good and the naans were served fresh and hot, we could tell by the charred and crisp base they had been made fresh in the tandoor oven. The garlic naan was very aromatic and fragrant and the peshwari naan had a lovely sweet filling. It was clear that this restaurant cooks it’s menu using fresh ingredients and treats every dish like a home cooked meal, as opposed to many restaurants which are churning out overly oily, creamy and sweet ‘curries’ that have all been made from the same sauce bases. In today’s day and age if you want quality food a hefty bill is usually justified - the staggering thing about this restaurant is they serve huge portions of quality food and a vast majority of their main dishes are under £10! This humble restaurant is very well deserving of the recent hype and reviews and I can honestly say I don’t think I have had Indian restaurant food to this standard outside of South Asia. We will definitely be coming back - and hopefully securing a regular table before it gets too popular.

I was only in England for 4 days and really wanted a Tandoori (they are quite rare in France....). Good food, friendly people, quite a comprehensive menu. A nice experience.

This place is a hidden gem. I tried it for the first time tonight and immediately upon entering I was struck by the charm and lovely relaxed atmosphere of the place. I ordered onion bhajis, chilli paneer, lamb tikka jalfrezi and a naan. The food was so delicious and lovely and hot. The lamb was tender and the paneer was the best I've had. There was a great amount of gravy to the jalfrezi too which I love. Everything was fresh and tasty. The staff were lovely too and the food was great value. I would definitely recommend Redland Tandoori. I'll be coming back again!

Visited on a Wednesday night, very quiet, so got served quickly, very attentive friendly service. Maybe a husband and wife. Usual thing, 2 lagers, large GnT, 4 poppadoms and pickles, mushroom rice, although they brought pilau to begin with and then we had both. Very kind only charged for one rice. Chicken Bhuna, Chicken Dhansak, very tasty indeed, maybe a wee bit salty. Bombay Aloo. Under £50. Would definitely go again - as long as the miserable couple who chastised us for facetiming a family member aren't there. We were at opposite ends of the restaurant. Nice decor as well. Full marks

We normally get takeaways from Redland tandoori as they make some of the best curries in Bristol and yet are reasonably priced. Tonight we went for a family eat in curry and it did not disappoint. Fast friendly efficient service. Great curries, naan, roti, popadoms, all served in nice hot plates. Thank you for a memorable birthday meal. We will be back.

Some of the best Indian food we have ever tried! Went with my family and everyone enjoyed a lot. We tried the butter chicken which had a sweet and rich texture and the Redland special chicken curry which was lovely and tender; both of which we had with some gorgeous garlic naan. Had chicken biryani too, which felt like home, and was made to perfection. Also tried the mango lassi which was flawless! Overall, there was a great selection to choose from and the service was brilliant. Food came out really fast and all tasted wonderful! Would definitely recommend!
