Wow what an amazing and extensive menu , my wife and myself eat at many different Indian restaurants and Takeaway's and we enjoyed the food and my wife said the onion bhaji's at this takeaway are the best she has had therefore we would recommend trying these when you order, the staff are so helpful and friendly I am sure they will do well.

First time eating here, it was very tasty, good portion size. A little more expensive than other Indians but was definitely worth it. 5* from me. Top notch

Just ordered a meal from Ali’s used to eat here a lot a few years ago but the restaurant had shut and re opened due to a family situation, I decided to try again once it had opened, and I wasn’t disappointed. Fantastic food and fantastic service. I won’t hesitate to order from here again. Top drawer!!!!!

Recently reopened so gave it a try and glad we did. Tindaloo wasn't as hot as I expected considering it's supposes to be hotter than a vindaloo but still tasted great. Sagg aloo was lovely. Pasanda one of the best in Bristol. Sheek Kebab was flavoursome and well cooked. 100% would order again

Llevamos años comiendo de Ali Mahal, cada vez que pedimos la comida es fresca, perfectamente preparada y llena de sabor, no creo que haya nada en el menú que no nos guste.la entrega siempre es puntual y los chicos siempre son encantadores.altamente recomendado.

For a flavoursome takeaway or a proper sit down celebration this is the place for you. The restaurant area is quite big so great for large family or work collegue groups. The decor is traditional Indian though a little dated it is charming. The food is fresh and tasty. I recommend the Prawn dansak, vegetable biryani and the delish Peshwari Naan. Very attentive staff, I was surprised by some of the bad reviews as we have always received good quality tasty food and excellent service when eating in or having a takeaway delivered. Sometimes when the restaurant is particularly busy you may have to wait a short while for your food.

Anoche decidimos darnos un capricho como la primera noche en casa de tener un bebé recién nacido, el chino local estaba cerrado, lo cual recomiendo encarecidamente. Así que opté por este restaurante, ¡ahora deseamos no haberlo hecho!Como todos sabemos, la comida para llevar de la India puede ser costosa, pero lo que no esperamos es pagar 26 por una orden incorrecta, a la que le sonó y explicó la orden mientras alimentaba al bebé, salieron como vivimos en el lugar y literalmente nos tiramos de encima. Le faltaba a mi hermana que estaba de visita y abrió la puerta.Pensando que la situación se resolvería cuán equivocados estábamos ya que faltaban los artículos, así que volvieron a llamarlo para colgar. Llamado de nuevo inmediatamente tomó un tiempo para contestar el teléfono para una voz diferente en el otro extremo. A lo que ella quiso hablarle a mi compañero que fue el que ordenó la comida.Nuevamente explicamos el orden equivocado y, sin embargo, se negaron a disculparse o darse cuenta de su error y nos ofrecieron un pan poxey naan gratuito. Esta noche tuvimos que esperar más de una hora a pesar de que el curry se ordenó por adelantado y se comunicó por teléfono en 30 minutos. Tuve un pollo madras que era el peor curry que he comido, estaba nadando en agua y aceite y solo tenía 6 trozos pequeños de pollo.¡No uses este restaurante no importa lo desesperado que estés!

Mi familia y yo hemos estado pidiendo desde hace años sin problemas siempre ha sido buena comida y buen servicio, desafortunadamente tuvimos una mala comida, llamamos para decirles que nuestra comida no era buena y fueron muy groseros, 1 miembro del personal en realidad dijo que no estaba de humor porque ¡acaba de despertarse! ! ,Realmente decepcionados, ya que fueron muy groseros y agresivos por teléfono, mi familia y yo nunca volveremos a pedirlos. Solo ten cuidado si pides desde aquí y la comida no es buena, no llegarás a ninguna parte

Pedimos comida para llevar de Ali Mahal todo el tiempo, por lo general estamos satisfechos con nuestra comida y siempre disfrutamos del curry, pero desafortunadamente ayer me decepcionó por completo. Las salsas eran insípidas y el pollo estaba muy seco. . . ¡con suerte la próxima vez que ordenemos la comida es de mejor calidad!

Ordered 3 different vegetable dishes with 3 veg sides and peshwari nan as take away. Band was chewy but tasty all the dishes were spiceless and tasted the same, slight variation in the vegetables but no flavour other than tomato, all very bland and boring. If I hadn't driven 15 mins to get this I would have taken it back. Not Indian, not tasty, not worth buying

Used to go here years ago and couldn't believe it when it was still there when we drove past recently. We couldn't help but go in for a meal. It's the same owner and still be far the best curry I have had in ages. There is a bar for drinks and the seating is comfy and not too busy.

Been eating here for ages and never had a bad one. It’s a must try. Ali will even ask the cook to knock up food that’s not even on the menu. Strong recommend for this one

Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. No había nadie en comer, pero obviamente estaba cocinando para servicio de comida para llevar muy rápido por el personal amable. Disfruté el cordero "sally", que era un plato de boda? Muy sabroso y se sirve con arroz o nan. Yo tenía un nan de ajo, que era uno de los mejores que he probado. Muy buena relación calidad-precio y servicio.

Great food to take away, Genuinly tasty, fresh and delivered in good time. Eating in not quite as enjoyable as the restaurant is a little dated and lacking in atmosphere.

Debo decir que el personal de Ali Mahal son normalmente muy amable había una camarera inglesa que me pareció extremadamente groseramente a la hablando camarera india. La camarera inglesa que era joven ish me hizo sentir muy incómoda mantuvo mirando en mí.

Best Indian este lado de Bristol. El personal es excelente y amable! Nunca hemos cenado en el restaurante, pero conseguir llevar si estamos alojados con el en las leyes. Comida estupenda.

Never fails, the best here in.fact in the whole of Bristol. It is Just a lovely meal good service had lamb methi and my partner malay lamb perfect, explosion of taste, so.much lovely food..best ever. Ali's is a family run business . The menu has such a wide array of dishes our favourite is prawn on puri starter and onion bajee the food is always of extremely good quality and piping hot . It's become one of our families favourite places that we tend to order takeaways which are delivered by Ali himself every weekend

Hmmmm hmmmm hmmmm, delicious food, great prices, excellent customer service on phone when ordering and collecting. We have also sat in for a meal before as a couple and with friends and would recommend highly, best Indian in the area by far. See you again soon x

The curry had loads off water in it so did my partner will never buy from there again

Right, now I've eaten a lot of curries in Bristol - and I mean a lot - I've also travelled far and wide to eat them - from the luxurious and decadent streets of Clifton to the gritty mean streets of Easton and beyond. Most of them are far too oily - pretty much drowning in oil (which I guess is melted ghee) and, like, if you want to get geared up for a sudden heart attack, then I guess you'd better keep eating out at places like that. If, on the other hand, you discover a curry in Bristol that ISN'T swimming in oil, that isn't drenched in MSG and still tastes like heaven then you'd better sing it from the rooftops. And let me tell you, I've only found two, maybe three restaurants like that in the whole of the city. Ali Mahal in Shirehampton is one of them. And, not only that, but the curries at the Ali Mahal are packed full of flavour. And you know why? Because this is a family-run restaurant and the home-cooked recipes have been handed down from generation to generation - in other word, the chefs here cook with zeal and passion. The passion shows in the service and the passion shows in the food. The naan bread is to die for - it tastes like it has been cooked in an genuine tandoor oven (a rarity it seems these days) and the main courses are just heavenly. Let me tell you, if you dine here, and you're prepared to experiment - by trying authentic Bombay dishes that you may not have tried before (the family are originally from Bombay) - you will not go away disappointed - in fact, you will sit back in your big chair, stroke your happy, purring stomach and say to yourself, "You beauty, you absolute beauty!" And you will head back home one happy contented bunny.

Best Indian food we have ever tasted! Great staff and great atmosphere and the food came out very quick would come back again

I must admit that it was difficult searching for somewhere in an unknown area to ourselves, as we were passing through. Checking out with tripadvisor was the obvious solution. Lucky us. Good reports, and they certainly deserve the best. We waited for a while, were offered a drink, and chatted with the owner and his children.The lady of the house is quite obviously the chef, and a good one to boot. Brilliant food. I enjoy hot and spicy and my partner prefers it not too hot and spicy! However, after tasting my meal, he said that he could eat that. It was slightly warm but we could actually taste the spices. On hitting the stomach the warmth began to spread. Absolutely fantastic meal, which we both loved. Lovely family and great service. Wish I could go back every week.

Service and quality of food excellent

We always get our take aways from here! The flavours in the curries are out of this world. They always cook the food piping hot when we pick up and all the different dishes actually taste like different dishes unlike when you go to other restaurants and the use the same base sauce. The naan breAds are always nice and the mushroom rice Is one of my favourites. Vindaloo is how it should be very spicy!! Lovely get what it says on the menu. Will continue to eat here and they always are so so friendly we often come away with free drinks or free poppadoms etc!

Just order the chicken tikka rezala and you'll never eat at another Indian again. Not only is the food 11/10, Ali's is a family run business that is like no other in terms of making you feel welcome. They are great with kids too. The food isn't the cheapest, but it's by far the best value as the quality is outstanding. Highly recommended!

My hubby and I celebrated 8 yrs of marriage by a meal here and it was absolutely wonderful. 48.00 bought food and wine enough to take home too much to eat, the lamb korma was superb, the choice of food is good and the starter with prawn just lush hmmm.lovely veg, large portions and a baileys on the house. Lovely orange slices finished off with a hot rose scented wipe for hands. Service very polite, nothing too much trouble to set the table perfectly, retro old style indian decor with a candle on each table. Dont be put off by the outside of the building, best meal in a long time and value for money would recommend.

Love it, atmosphere, food, service, drink and location,, within walking distance so we can have a drink........ Even love the vintage yellow serving cart.Definitely would go back, again and again and again
