Calling all Desi people to one of the best Paratha and Chole Bhature place in Bristol. My friends and I lost it when we saw the variety so we tried every Paratha. Aloo, Methi, Paneer, Gobi and ofcourse the mouthwatering Chole Bhature meal. Don't forget to finish with Gulab Jamun. Made my day. The prices here have become unreasonably high, especially considering the low quality of the items. For example, the samosas are small and only filled with boiled potatoes, yet they now cost £1 each, up from 75p in the past. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, which is unfortunate since I used to buy from here regularly. I won’t be returning.

I bought a few snacks from this shop as looked tidy. The bhajis were fine but one pastry was dry and stale (defo from an old batch, the pastry was HARD and crumbly throughout) and the stuffing was crumbly and dry literally goes like dust in your mouth🤢❌❌ Wasn’t far so walked back and showed it to them and they said “oh that’s how it is supposed to be”?! As if I don’t know how food should be:/ I even asked them to bin it themselves but to make sure they used a food bin which they said “we don’t recycle”!!? So had to carry a pastry in my pocket till I get home to bin it properly🤦♂️ Absolutely ridiculous if you ask me, the whole thing.

Jeevan Sweets is a delightful gem nestled in the heart of our community. As a family-owned business, their warmth and friendliness radiate through every interaction. Stepping into their shop feels like stepping into a cozy family gathering, where smiles abound and conversations flow effortlessly. Not only is the shop impeccably clean, but their mishti selection is also truly outstanding. Each sweet is a testament to their dedication to quality and tradition. The jalebi, in particular, is a burst of sweetness that dances on your taste buds like a joyful carnival, leaving you craving for more with each bite. And let's talk about their chocolate barfi – it's like a heavenly marriage of rich cocoa goodness and creamy texture, a decadent treat that satisfies both the sweet tooth and the soul. To the family behind Jeevan Sweets, thank you for being the heart and soul of our community for so many years. Here's to many more years of spreading joy and sweetness to all who walk through your doors. Cheers!

Absolute must try if you're around Bristol. I don't know of anywhere else with as big of a range, especially in the south west. Everything's veggie and there's a good amount of vegan sweets. Most of the savoury is vegan and includes street food like pakora and samosa, and there's also the hot food menu which is extensive! They also cater for special events and weddings 😭 It's dangerously additive!

As a family we had ordered a large take away amounting to £98 of food. It was unfortunate that they had not written the name on the dishes because it was really difficult to sort out what's what. The problem was that the food was universally spicy, even the Raita (which normally serves to cool things down) was a little hot. We had ordered 2 vegetable kormas specifically for my 82 year old husband and our granddaughter (3), so they would have something safe. Some of us (we were a group of 8) managed to enjoy the spicy food but some of us were breathing fire! And over night most of us suffered with windy tummies and bloatedness. Not a great experience when you have just spent £98! I would not use Jeevan again.

Asked 4 pieces of Baby Rasagulla and he put it on a box and asked for 2 pounds. Rasagulla 1kg costs 12 pounds. But he never put it on weight scale before placing in box. I asked him do you charge for the box and he said yes we'll charge you 50p for the box. Without getting our permission he's selling the box and looting money from us. Also, I measured the weight after I came home and it's just 117 grams (1.404 pounds). He looted 10 pence from my sweet 😓 and also 50 pence from the box. Go with your own box to get the value for money and ask him to show the weight and calculate the amount whether he's cheating or not.

VERY EXPENSIVE, VERY DISSAPOINTED! You kachori were disgusting, the dhaal inside them were hard and black not sure what you put inside it. The kachori's were hard to swallow, no taste, didn't enjoy it for a moment. Chilli Pakorai were okay, the batter itself was too hard and thick to swallow, didn't like the taste of it, tasted extremely bland. Unfortunately, we had to throw them away, that's how bad they were. Your mix mithai that was on the counter tasted all the same, didn't enjoy eating it. The only positive thing we liked were your Aloo Samosai. Your prices are very expensive, you need to reduce the price down for the locals, as your food in general isn't that special! I would rate it below average. 2/5 is my rating!

The boxs' of curries available at the deli counter are only just the beginning. Very authenthic, very nicely spiced, and also some unsual ones, like chicken naga, which is very hot, but very tasty and good for the heat lovers. And at £5-7 its also a lot cheaper than sitting in a restaurant. The lentil dal is even cheaper. You could eat from here every day and not break the bank. Then there is the Deli counter, for daily curries, chaats (mixed indian snack box thing, you won't be dissapionted) You have a vegetarian section and a meat section, and the mix of things ensures you can have something made of vegetables like their fiery parnsips (cooked in a spicy sauce) or indulge with a pakora, of which they're are endless to choose from and all delicious. I asked if the dipping sauces were made fresh, and got the reply, 'everything is made from scratch up in the kitchen'. Have the mango chutney with a chicken pakora and you'll be back to try it all!
