Very nice room as I upgraded to one with a shower and toilet, The staff are friendly and the food is excellent and I would definitely stay again

Been here a few times now and i cant get enough of the jacket potatos, all i can say is wow. Staff are also very friendly and welcoming, and cant forget the 90’s music in the background. A 10/10 experience!!!

Use this cafe fairly regularly food is ok if you don’t want to cook. It’s let down by a rude and abrupt woman blonde hair glasses usually worn on top of her head she really needs to attend a customer care course. A civil word to all customers goes a long way.

We've not been to the Redbeck for ages, decided to great the family for breakfast last Wednesday. Adults had breakfasts the kids had nuggets. In the past the food has been good. This time it was TRULY dreadful. The bacon was dry and hard, almost burnt. Looked like it had been pre-cooked then reheated. The sausage was dire, bland and tasteless. The chips had obviously been pre-cooked and re-fried, they were as hard as nails. The bread and butter was already done and was taken from a pile under the counter. Being piled up caused the butter to stick to the back of the slice above it. Meh. It is obvious that they have started using inferior quality products and are cutting corners I the wayvthey cook food and present it. Won't be going back soon, which is a shame. Avoid

One word….. VILE!!!! Dont waste your money dirty place, staff screaming at each other and the food is diabolical

My wife and I were passing and had said many times that we must call in sometime (last visit for either of us was donkey's years ago) to see if they still did the Breakfast Special, which they did! All the food was hot and tasty and the chips were great. I pigged out with bread and butter and was stuffed when I finished. It's cheap and cheerful in a typical roadside cafe / motel setting, which is the attraction. Give it a go.

Absolute shambles, if you enjoy people shouting BREAKFAST every 2 mins then you'll love this place. Recently went there after doing the Rat run. To be spoken to rudely, told I had to pay extra to not have a sausage and have spam instead. Food was shocking. My 8 year old would do better. My order was given to someone else then when questioned about it the lady with all the tattoos slagged me off to staff members. Then to top it off she came out to us all and said don't come again, we wasn't prepared for yous and didn't have the staff and rushed us off our feet. I didn't realise you had to prebook cafes. Overpriced for a plate undercooked garbage.

Came here recently as a family of 5 as haven’t been since I was a child so thought we would try it out. Came to about £50 for 5 meals and a drink each which I thought was really reasonable. Food was lovely and a great portion for the price, really fast and efficient service. Would probably avoid going between 12-1 in the future though as it was a bit like a cattle market it was so busy. Would come again, no complains!

Absolutely disgusting place to eat had to kill bacon myself as it came with legs it was that uncooked, after I asked for it really well done . The lass behind counter always gets our orders wrong and her English is terrible, avoid this place like the plague I have the photos too it’s horrendous

I don't usually have an issue but my god today was horrendous. The lady that served me and my friend was rude as hell. She has short blondish hair with glasses on. Whenever we asked her questions etc all she did was roll her eyes and what not. I'm sorry but that's not how you treat your customers.

Take a trip back in time to this redneck and biker haven - leather jackets and handlebars moustaches not compulsory but highly recommended! This weird little ‘motel’ has been a feature in Doncaster Road for years and years, and it’s Rite of Passage for anyone in the local neighbourhood to visit and endure the worst coffee in the world! They have been known to harbour machete wielding maniacs, so watch the Alfred Hitchcock film ‘Psycho’ to prepare yourself for what you might see! Food is served in healthy portions, and at a decent price, which must account for the steady stream of customers, because people don’t go there for the quality or the customer service! Go there, tick it off your bucket list, then never speak of it again.

This friendly motel near Wakefield is a gem! The food is always served fresh hot and delicious. They always have what you want and it’s at a very reasonable price too. The service is efficient and friendly. The surroundings are clean and well looked after....

My wife and I went here lady weekend for lunch on Saturday and Sunday. We jad steak and kidney pie and then steak and mushroom pie the next day. Both beautifully cooked, good sized portions lots of veg. Good friendly helpful staff Good value

I've just been to Redbeck and ordered an Ham Salad and the portion was outstanding. The Service was also amazing, I was served by Elaine and she was great, we was able to have a laugh and joke with her. Would 100% recommend the Redbeck...

Just called in for a couple of there famous breakfast specials and wow all fresh and very tasty we are full to bursting. All meals are freshly cooked to order and come with choice of chips or potatoes with 3! Fresh veg. All this and then on top a FREE pudding! I can’t recommend this place enough with the prices keeping down after covid19 shutting them for 6 months value for money, whether your a couple or with family. Thank you.

I had the supposed Shepherds pie (or Sheperds as the menu was written) dinner whilst my partner had the “all inclusive” breakfast. The shepherds pie was cold and square, and came with chips so thin they were like shards and over-stewed frozen cabbage, peas and carrots. The all inclusive breakfast had one very cheap sausage, two rashers of bacon, beans, chopped tinned tomatoes, 1 egg and fried bread, all of which had been stood for a long time. Both meals lacked taste and were “screamed” out to you from the counter when they were ready. They were not even brought to you. Our coffees were made from instant coffee powder and we’re so weak there must have been a high chicory content in the mix. All in all, a truly vile experience that will never be forgotten but for the wrong reasons. Our recommendation: put your foot down on the accelerator passed this “restaurant” and drive on to the Cock and Crown for somewhere to eat if you can.

Keeping it short and sweet.Food is 100% to die for. Ham salad sandwich is amazing and the chicken burger that my son Jake had said it was better than the fast food chains..( You know who I mean!) The staff are so nice and helpful and look happy to serve you.I will return once a week to make my through the menu. I will also make it my mission to tell everyone to visit you. Your a hidden gem.

went in with family walked back out before placing order as I witnessed a member of staff assault a small child aged about 4 then when the mother intervened the staff member ran into the kitchen for cover never again will I put a penny in the place again alot of loss of business at approx 40 pounds per visit at least once a week . I hope the staff member rots in hell for what she did to that poor child and if the parent sees this I hope your child is OK and not suffered too serious an injury .

I wouldn’t even feed my dog what they tried feeding me! Absolutely vile ordered a beef dinner and there was more fatty bits than actual beef! Mash potatoes? No it’s packet smash!! And Yorkshire puddings are that soggy it’s just vile!! I won’t be coming again didn’t even eat my meal! Left it on table and gone elsewhere!!! Absolute garbage and a waste of £20!

I threw up all over my food, and even then it still looked better. Slop in a box. Sausages were dry. Bread was dry. Bacon, yep...you guessed it. Dry. With beans thrown on top with runny egg. That undercooked the chick was still running about.

Today was the first time I went to this immaculate cafe! The service was first class and I was very impressed with the food. Also, the 60's music was fantastic to listen to. Well done to all the staff!!

Been 3 times so far this month, two Sunday lunches and a midweek meal. Each time meal was delicious and plentiful with the added bonus of a free pudding before 8.0 0 pm Friendly and efficient service.

Have been twice this week with family and friends. A superb meal on both occasions.First visit I had was the Lamb Chop meal, absolutely delicious and very substantial portion plus a free dessert before 8.PM Cherry Cheese Pie and Cream.Second visit was today for Sunday Lunch. Roast beef Meal. Massive amount of meat and veg, very tasty, followed by Chocolate Cake and Chocolate Custard. Delicious.Friendly and helpful staff. Will be visiting on a regular basis from now.

My family go here all the time, never ever had a bad meal, customer service is excellent, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. If you want something posh...dont come here, but for us proper folk it's a reyt grand place...one of my Sons moved to grimsby to run his own pub, when he comes home he always has to come here before going back home. He says it's the only thing he misses....cheeky bugger

Called for breakfast with my 10 year old son, mum and Nanna and the service was appalling. The all inclusive breakfast which meant you got a hot drink with it consisted of bacon, sausage, egg, beans, tomato and fried bread. Asked if could have poached egg to be told outright ‘no’ it is fried or scrambled. I Don’t eat sausage so asked if could have an extra bacon which she screwed her nose at and also asked if could have toast instead of Fried bread to be told that’s extra. Bacon was just total fat even my son said he wanted to complain and that’s a 10 year old. The girl behind the counter was dam rude, no thank you or please crossed her lips. I will not be coming here again. As I say it was absolutely disgusting!!!!

Fantastic Motel, Café Truckstop, it never closes, friendly staff, lovely food, very clean lots of parking for cars and lorries 2 very clean showers shared with drivers and non ensuite guests, free wi-fi in rooms and café. Cannot really comment on the Motel rooms or service as I've only stayed overnight in my lorry.

Arrived after my night shift staff really helpful at booking in. Breakfast was on my table within minutes of sitting down staff bent over backwards to help you . Had a late lunch had lasagna and chips only one thing I can say fantastic and a bit too much on the plate not often you can say that and you get a free sweet. Rooms basic but spotless clean but all in all everyone was really helpful and polite. Definitely be recommending to work friends and rail companies.

Decided to give this place a try after reading reviews. Busy at 10.50 on a Sunday morning. No problem with parking.Very basic cafe. The menu is on a board above the counter but it doesn’t explain what each breakfast consists of. When I asked, I felt it was a hinderance so just choose one. Felt very rushed. Girls behind the counter shout into the back every time someone orders and shout again when your meal is ready and you then have to go to the counter to collect it. There is a problem when more than one table orders the same meal as you have no idea whose it is. Not a bad breakfast and reasonably priced but no mushrooms

Described as a truckers hotel but we were surprised and pleased to find that it exceeded all expectations. We had a double room that was a good size and very tastefully decorated with scatter cushions and a good selection of drinks and toiletries. The staff were very helpful and the cafe very busy.

This is the best transport cafe, it has been open for over fifty years and never closed open 24 hours a day

As the review hints, this is the home of one of the biggest breakfast I’ve found, it’s to be fair a good roadside cafe, with an motel attached, plenty of parking, well located on the main road into Wakefield.

I came here for my tea with a few friends! I ordered the lasagne and it was the best I’ve ever had!! Clearly home made! And great value for money

As a regular road cyclist on early morning rides i need a stop off for a coffee or a bite to eat and this place fitted the void perfectly.Ordered a coffee and bacon sarnie ( not supposed to have bacon on a ride ) and it arrived hot and delicious.The coffee was really refreshing.Service was great,assistant was friendly and if i were to take this route again i will be calling off once more.Overall cannot fault this place !

Went for Christmas day again with our daughter. You can't fault the food, it's brilliant, and the girls serving are really polite and sweet. We'll be back next year.

The best full-english in Yorkshire, bar none. I've been a regular since the mid 1970s (I used to deliver their newspapers as a boy!), hope it never changes. As far as service and atmosphere are concerned, it's a transport cafe, always will be despite its aspirations to be a motel.

This place is a gem! Staff are friendly and attentive, always happy to help, but the food is the draw! The Breakfast special is magnificent but the steak pie dinner is to die for! Free sweet with main meals! I can not fault the place!

You can't fault Redbeck . It's one of those cafés that is what it is ... and it is very very good at it. Open 24 hours a day , all year round , you can always be sure of a hot meal , whether that be full breakfast or roast of the day.

Hubby and I went back to Redbeck again this year for Christmas day. You just can't fault this place, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and so much if it, we asked for smaller portions and still took a doggy bag home with us. There was only one thing that irritated me a bit which was a miserable, whingeing and extremely picky customer sat behind us who sent his food back 3 times, and then sent his pudding back. I have to say though the staff dealt with him really well, courteous and politely. We hope to go back next year.

it's your typical cafe with varied menu, but you can't fault the menu or price meals are on the large size but worth every penny. staff usually very friendly but today think they'd had a little issue with earlier customers that had been barred affected their moods. felt sorry for a couple who had ordered meal before we arrived one got theirs but other one had to wait it took that long that do that their partner had finished their meal before theirs arrived, they wasn't very happy

Had a wedding reception to attend at the Catchpenny. Redbeck was recommended as a good hotel for the night enabling us to have a drink.

Overall Redbeck Cafe and Motel is a nice place to grab a meal be it a quick bacon butty or a main meal. Its clean and friendly with a decent menu that has daily specials...with free pudding! Most of the food is fair to good but the sausages are a bit hit and miss!

I went out with a friend for a meal and drink we received a warm welcome.the menu was what you would expect but they also had salad and quiche the food was hot and tasty we had tea to drink that was just right. The portions​ are good you get a good feed. It is not posh by any means but is well worth a meal . I will go again.

It must be 30 years since I last went to Redbeck, an early hours visit after a night out in Wakey. It was a legendary transport cafe you could get food at all hours and it's breakfasts were just what you needed after a few drinks. The clientele ranged from truckers to bikers to clubbers to shift workers. Today my restaurant choices have moved more towards fine dining, but last night, on the way home from an event at nearby Nostell Priory, my friend and I were struggling to decide where to go for dinner. So we thought we'd do something fun and see if Redbeck was still as good. There were certainly less trucks in the car park and outside and in it has become more of a 70s motorway service station/motel, but the down to earth welcome and wholesome food makes it timeless. The menu is pretty basic, but plenty of choice and there are some healthy options too! They are trying to move with the times! The staff, all women, were warm and friendly, running the place with military efficiency, like a cross between school dinner ladies and a staff canteen. But what makes it stand out is both value and quality. Everything seems to come on giant oval plates, filled to the brim. Don't eat for a week before attempting the mixed grill! I had sirloin steak which came with mushrooms, peas and vast amounts of red hot and really good chips. I think I was unlucky that my particular steak was a bit thin and overlooked, but not small. My friend said her quiche was really good but the salad she asked for to with it came as peas instead. But we didn't mind! It was a fun night and we laughed all way through it. A step back in time and a step back to good old fashioned basics. Comfort food in a comforting setting. It was brilliant. And I will be back.

This is super well priced and everything tastes amazing... Specially When your a bit worse for where :)Don't expect caviar, expect good proper food!!

Very disappointed after reading the reviews , ordered egg, sausage & beans , sausages cheap & nasty , also ordered all inclusive breakfast was very small and messy only thing that was nice was the black coffee and tea , will not be returning .

Redbeck is always lovely and top food. A warm and friendly atmosphere with great and quick food. Tables are always clean and theres always space to sit. Just don't forget to listen out for your food being called at the counter! You do get the odd frosty waitress but everyone has a bad day I guess! One of the best places for breakfast, always consistent and a very fair price too! Can't complain! A modern twist on the traditional transport cafe/motel! Thank You!

The Redbeck never closes ! it is open 24 hrs a day 365 days a year. It is a truckers pit stop cafe serving all day breakfasts (any combination you want) including chips. Traditional meals such as homemade pies, mash, veg chips etc reasonably priced and large enough portions. It does have a bar area, children's area and keeps an area free for residents as this is a motel. You can even get a Christmas Lunch here as long as you do not expect posh surroundings..this is a very basic truckers good nosh cafe.

We visit the Redbeck as a bit of a tradition on our way back from the Next sale, it's one of the few spots open and is normally a good brekkie. At Xmas we noticed the quality of the food had slipped a bit, this time it had slipped a lot. This is a side of the road motel/ cafe. It has a big jukebox and you get the feeling it has been like that for decades. It has quite a feeling of nostalgia around it which I enjoy. The staff are always friendly and accommodating, swapping items from the breakfasts for other items etc. When your order is ready this is shouted across the cafe for you to go and fetch. The breakfast is a good size, it doesn't come with toast though this is an added extra. Unfortunately this time you could taste how cheap the sausages were,they were only one step up from tinned sausages. The hash browns were ok but that was the nicest bit. Coffee was ok. This is an traditional roadside greasy spoon. I will be going back, at Xmas. You can't mess with tradition. (Just don't think I'll have sausages)

A great place to call to for a good choice meal after a long day..We often call here if we've been out for the day and have one of their main meals which includes a free dessert. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the Motel is quite up to date especially the side rooms leading from the main dining area. They are open all year round, even on Christmas day!Plenty of parking and outside seating too.

Called in when out on a motorcycle ride. Large, clean cafe serving regular British road cafe food. Biker friendly but nice family atmosphere too as lots of families in that day. Pleasant staff and nice coffee. Bacon butties done perfectly with a big helping too. Definitely going again though next time I'll be ordering the breakfast special - they looked enormous!

Give this place a call if your in the area and needing a brekkie, just be aware if you go the full hog including chips then your in for a real belly buster, quick service at reasonable prices.

The cafe is open 24/7. They will serve you food when ever you wish. The menu shows a wide variety of foods. The staff especially Melissa and Sarah are a credit to the cafe. Making the experience better with there good communication skills and friendliness.

This is just simply a great place to eat, especially if you do not have a lot of time. The food is very good, always freshly prepared and hot! The menu is varied and good value, from great breakfasts to roast dinners and everything in between. The staff are all brilliant, always courteous and nothing is ever too much trouble. It is open 24 hours a day seven days a week. Give it a try, I don't think that you will be disappointed. One thing they could make better tea!!

A group of us (all male) were passing and called in for breakfast. The food is cheap to buy, but because of that the quality isn't great. The coffee and tea were awful - cheap and nasty. The food was passable but on the whole rather cold. If you use cheap ingredients then you get cheap meals. If that is what you want then please call in, However all of us were disappointed and won't be going back. There are much better places to go in Wakefield. The juke box is unbearably loud too - so much so we couldn't hear our own conversation.

I've been to the Redbeck a few times and it is a very clean diner! The breakfasts are renowned for miles around, service is great, my only complaint would be the tea and coffee is very ordinary, but drinkable!

The regular breakfast with toast and a drink was about £4.40 - a very good price. However service was lacking and although we agreed the the food was edible it was lukewarm/cold.

Came here for a boxing day breakfast with my family, food was spectacular as it always has been! Ive been going here for midnight munchies and after party breakfasts since i was 15/16 and the quality has always been second to none. Best place in wakefield by far.

I was very, very drunk and needed a full english to mop up the mucky beer I had while drinking so I stopped here at 4:00am and had a full english and a cup of tea. it was amazing I even got a steak canadian sarnie to walk home with the extra four miles. I've been here throughout my child hood and its always open. I'd recomend it to anyone at any time of day.
