Love the food but sadly the staff are not friendly. Puts a dampener on the experience.

First found The Red Rose around 6 months ago and since then we won't go anywhere else for Indian food. Above all everything tastes so fresh and the flavours are excellent. Service is superb particularly Kaz and Ripon. Highly recommend the Chicken Handi. Beautiful food, friendly staff and welcoming.

Terrible service and extremely rude staff and colleagues lying about food and prices and missing items claiming to have been to the address to right the wrong order when they did no such thing as we have security cameras missing items were never returned and a refund was never issued this restaurant is most likely one of the worst I have eaten from in regards to service from staff disgraceful

I was quite disappointed with the food. I ordered the garlic chilli lamb - the lamb was cooked to perfection 👌 but the masala really let the dish down. I mean judging by the dish's name, you'd expect it to be savoury in every sense of the word. Why on earth did they add sugar to the dish? The dish was ruined by the sweet aftertaste. The only reason I can think that they add sugar is to cater for the locals. The naan was lovely. The pilau rice was another disappointment I mean it had multicoloured rice that you usually associate with sweet rice. This place seem to like to add sugar to everything. Leaving the taste buds confused. The locals obviously like the place as it probably caters to their taste buds. By the time we had finished the place was rammed full. Definitely not for me. If you're from a south Asian background you probably will be disappointed too.

Take away review : really disappointing quantities of meat in the curries and tandoori dishes For almost £9 to have 2/3 filled containers is very disappointing….they also charge you for a bag when it’s been delivered?! Poor very bready onion bahji and stale naan bread (I assume these were all cooked at the start of the night rather than to order) Won’t be ordering again However quick delivery once order (30mins)

I had high hopes of the food as I was seeing a Bangladeshi Indian restaurant after a while. But my hopes did not last long as the curries were totally bland. No salt, no flavour. For me it's never again

I ordered the meal deals last night and the full tandori chicken...the curry was absolutely beaituful - chicken jalfrezi i went with and the spice was bang on the kids had the tikka and korma and loved it also we had a full tandori chicken it was tasty with onions and peppers very nice had the left overs today ... will definitely be returning stay consistent guys food is spot on 👌

Really authentic curry house very reasonable prices. Great flavours and good portions, although a lamb chop would have been nice with the mixed grill. Bombay potatoes best I've had in a long time. Large bottles of cobra. Excellent service. Will be back next time I'm in the area to try something else.

We have just been to the red rose Indian restaurant for a Christmas works meal there was 27 of us . The food was fantastic there was plenty of choice and all the food was hot and tasted gorgeous. the atmosphere was amazing and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. We will definitely be going back. I highly recommend this restaurant

Poor not what It used to be. Standard of food and service is not what it used to be. Obvious reduction in the quantity and quality of meat used in the curries Now very small portions and an obvious attempt to reduce costs. Much better value for money and quality offers available in a very competitive market.

Order from here so often the boss man delivers saying hello again becky best indian in syston by far 😆 i always order a chicken Bengal jalfrezi its hotter than a normal jalfrezi so rite up my street. Always arrives hot and the foods lovely and fresh.

Very disappointed. Normally have a great experience and have been ordering for years however, after my experience tonight I will be questioning whether or not if to waste my time… my order came incomplete at (9:30pm) and after calling to question the rest of my order they blamed me and claimed that I didn’t order the rest. Very quick to take payment but not to own up to their mistakes.

Me and my partner decided to go for a meal at Saffron Ivy, however they were fully booked so we tried the red rose instead. The food was okay, I had the chicken tandoori, which was alright but I was expecting abit of kick but it wasn't spicy at all. My partner had the vegetable curry, which he enjoyed but thought the curry had more sauce than vegetables. We both really enjoyed the dipping sauces and the poppadoms. The staff were pleasant, the service was fast and the food is reasonably priced! The red rose is worth a try especially if you like milder options when having a curry.

3 of us visited here on 23 Dec and thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent choice of dishes and friendly, efficient service. Poppadoms, pickles, onion bhaji, samosa, curries, rice and naan all freshly cooked, tasty and hot. Very good value given the quality of the food.

Always a good experience at The Red Rose. Dine in the week to get the special menu. Food is better if you eat in. Take away isn’t terrible compared to some Indian takeaways, but definitely better if you eat in the restaurant. They offer a discount for collection of takeaway orders too, so good value.

The menu got posted a few days before we ordered. I have heard about the restaurant but didn't know they have a specials menu which included curry, rise and naan bread for £7.50, which I though was good value, particually with the 10% off for collection. So we ordered the chicken tikka masala, lamb bhuna with rice. We upgraded both naan breads. So, with 25p different in naans on the menu, this should of been £15.50, before the discount. When I phoned the chap said £17.50 but mentioned something about a chutney tray so I didn't think too much about the price difference. When I collected it, I asked about the 10% off discount. He said it has been taken off and the bill was £16.50, which I though was weird but with the chutney tray and poppadoms I was fairly happy. However, I certainly wasn't when I got home. We received 4 small containers and the 2 naan breads. No chutney tray. The lamb bhuna had 4 medium sized peices on lamb, 3/4 filled up with a good layer on oil on top. It tasted just Okay. The CTM was better with a little more meat. The service in the restaurant was fine, not good or bad. There was no mention of price rises or dish size reductions. I don't know how the price was so high from the specials menu and with the alledged discount. This was the last indian restaurant in Syston that I've tried, it will remain in last place. There are much, much better indian restaurants in Syston, which better value and sized specials menus. We will not be returning

We decided ladt minute to go out for a curry. So was thinking of star of india but walked past here and thought we would give a try. Was such a lovely place. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Food was lovely too😋

So happy with the service I received. It was my first time ordering a curry from the red rose (New years day) and am very impressed. I am on a very strict diet due to having a baby with allergies (no dairy,soya or egg) the man on the phone went above and beyond to help me order what I was able to have with great suggestions. It can be really difficult ordering anything or eating out at new places as people tend not to have any knowledge or better yet the patience to go through items with me thoroughly. The food came quickly and everything I ordered was as stated, 'safe' and delicious for me to eat. 5 star service,thank you you've just got yourself a new customer.

We have been coming to the Red Rose for about 20 years as a couple, with family and with friends. The service has always been great and the food is lovely. What I also love is the kindness shown to loyal customers. Not many businesses still respect loyalty but the Red Rose does. Thanks for many happy memories and great meals ❤️👍

Visited early doors, in fact there were no other customers in when we arrived. The older chap was at the counter when we arrived and we said hello to him as we came in, and confirmed our booking. The younger waiter joined him and we all said hello to him, a greeting which went unanswered. He showed us to our table without speaking to us and came back with the menus before we'd even got our coats off. The tone for the evening was set then. He took our drinks order, answering impatiently when we asked what beer they had on. When he came to take our food order he glowered at us throughout and interrupted when we were ordering. Couldn't bring himself to say please or thank you at all. Conversely, he was charm itself with a table of three women who had by now come into the restaurant, laughing away. I'm not sure what his issue with us was - the only thing I can think of was that he took exception to our wearing masks when we entered the place (we took them off when we sat down of course): the older waiter also seemed out of sorts, but he can be moody anyway. After he served the popadoms, which were damp but warm, as if they'd been microwaved from frozen, the younger waiter seemed to twig that we weren't happy with his attitude - he may even have heard us say he wouldn't be getting a tip. In any case, he managed to squeeze out a "thank you". Too late, by then the evening was spoiled for us. Main course was served, OK but nothing spectacular - we finished our drinks and went. I've been coming to the Red Rose for years with family and friends and never had service like this. I won't be coming back.

Absolutely delicious food this evening. Really throughly enjoyed. Basic chicken curry was very tasty and delicious. Tikka masala not my cup of tea as very sweet but still good for those people that are not used to eating curries. Garlic naan and chapatti delicious and bombay aloo amazing! Very delicious food and would highly recommend ordering from the red rose!!

Excellent service Front Of house. Glad the young lad Kash is back as he keeps on disappearing! food was outstanding and Waiters were very re-assuring. I also met the old chap (Kash’s grandad) he was a nice gentlemen. They were busy on the Saturday night where they remained calm and still managed to provide excellent service. Finished the meal off with a shot of baileys (complimentary) from Kash’s grandad. We really did enjoy it. The red rose in syston is HIGHLY recommended. Thank you very much one again!

Unsure where to eat on Saturday, parked outside and "gave it a try". Really welcoming, a nice buzz of an atmosphere, with a very mixed clientele. Food was really tasty, service excellent, and pretty good value for money. Will almost certainly return.

I visit every 2 weeks to this restaurant because it is that good. No other Indian restaurant compares with this one. The staff are always friendly and the owner I always call Grandad Abdul Coz we got to know each other so well and all his grandsons work for him.. We'll recommended. Dave Pick.

We are regulars here, and always have a lovely meal. They do a special set menu, which is great value for money, and if you want a dish with a few extra bits in or out, they are very accommodating.

As I visit this restaurant every 2 weeks, I'm classed as a regular customer. I'm recognised by the staff and always made very welcome. The owner who I always call Grandad and he calls me the same. Have got to know each other very well. This restaurant is always fully booked so it shows how popular it is and the food is magnificent with a large selection of Indian cuisine. Well , I don’t really like to do this but we have always got our take away from Red Rose and never had a problem but we had family round , the wife sister took a bite of the vegetable barge and then pulled out a long hair from her mouth, not good it put me off straight away, not like Red Rose but that’s a customer they have now lost

We normally go to the Vishal restraunt in gipsy lane. How ever me and my girlfreind gave the red rose a try! We was served by a young lad kaz or kas his name was, he made sure we was very well looked after. The food was superb he recommended a handi chicken where it came on a sizzler witch i really enjoyed! I would definitely be returning to the red rose some time soon.Dan.

Dropped in this week after a long time of not visiting for no reason! I was very impressed with the redecorated interior! We choose the set menu and added a few extras! We both said how much we enjoyed the starters and main courses and it made a change to not leave anything, portion size just right and great quality! Service was very good and welcoming! We have been to this resterant many times and every time it's fantastic. We have had the mid week deal which is 4 courses for £10.95 which is run from Monday to Thursday but you can also eat from the normal menu too. We have also tried that and it's lovely. The waiters are very good and even when busy seem to manage very well. The atmosphere is relaxing as too is the setting. It's advisable to book the mid week special as it's very popular.Thankyou to all at the Red Rose for your hospitality and great food. C u very soon.

Omg. There is nothing better.After aleays having takeaway from the red rose we decided to eat in. The best ever. Great service very professional very clean.what more can i say. You wont be disappointed. Im going to miss them when we move house. A must try.

A lot smaller than you would think and also takes a while for the food to come to you. Extremely expensive for the quality, as a few dishes we had, had no taste at all...

We visited Christmas eve for a family get together, we normally go to the Grand durbar but as they were closed for refub, my sister in law booked here instead as they live in syston and so use here regularly

Your never to old to learn! Born and bred in Syston some 70 years ago i had never been to the Red Rose until recently. What a wonderful surprise, the food was of excellent quality,service second to none and the decor of the upstairs room where we ate was so "cool" Don't hog the place i want to be able to book in again.

Have visited this restaurant time and time again and never had one bad meal. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. They will tweak dishes to your liking. Plus mon- thurs they do a special menu three course for 1095 and there's a lot on this menu to choose from. You won't be disappointed

A neighbor told me about the Red Rose. Quite a small restaurant but a very friendly atmosphere. The staff were attentive. There was a large choice on the menu. The food was really good. The prices were a big surprise as it came to much less than we thought. We would go again.

Dropped into the Red Rose last night. Busy resturant but staff accommodated a takeaway order in just 20 minutes. The food was excellent and can be recommended. Definitely worth a visit either to sit in or takeaway. Great value too.

Mi marido, familia y yo hemos estado yendo a la Rosa Roja por unos 4 años ahora en casi dos semanas. Tenemos restaurantes indios más cerca de donde vivimos, pero no en la misma liga! Puede que este no sea el más grande de restaurantes (aunque tiene asientos adicionales arriba) pero la decoración es agradable y el servicio es siempre muy buena. Todo el equipo es muy amable y nada es demasiado para ellos! La comida es muy buena, la Rosa Roja especial - es el favorito de mi esposo y muy sabroso. Hacen un menú fijo de 4 platos precio lunes a jueves y es una fantástica relación calidad-precio, pero el precio barato no significa la comida es comprometida, es muy buena y bien presentada. Las bebidas son bastante caro también lo cual es bueno ya que a menudo encuentras que cuando restaurantes sirven comida a precios entonces las bebidas son caras pero no aquí! Hemos tenido grupos de 14 en celebraciones familiares o simplemente una comida a mediados de la semana para dos, pero hemos tenido la misma excelente comida servida con el mismo nivel de servicio cada vez.

Lovely food in cosy friendly surroundings, have been to eat in a few times and food is good but unfortunately the staff need to be more attentive especially when taking orders for takeaway food as we have got home a few times to find we have the wrong food or missing dishes it is a shame as the food is good.

Booked a meal for 9pm on a Friday night and had a great night. The pickle tray is to die for....the best I have had. Lamb Kharai and chilli chicken mains, again all very lovely. Lamb fell apart and was very tender and the price we paid was very reasonable, £30 for the two of us.My only gripe was as soon as we arrived we got given a menu and asked pretty much straight the way what we wanted....we asked them to come back as only just really sat down....and as soon as we had finished our food as it was nearing half past 10 they seemed to want to get us out of the door and close up, which was slightly annoying.. The bill was brought over without us asking for us and my lager, which wasn't finished was cleared away.To summarise, really lovely food and staff but let your customers relax. It was probably coming up to closing time but don't take on customers after 8ish if you want them out by half 10..

My Husband and myself have been going to the Red Rose twice a week for a few months now to order take away. We live in Ratby and drive to Syston and back as we thought it was a nice place. Each time we go we have a drink while we wait and a chat with the staff.We ordered our usual food on Friday September 30th and when we arrived home we realised that we had been given the wrong meal for one of us. We had ordered Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi but had been given Chicken Biriani .... a totally different meal.We phoned and asked to speak to the manager who knew who we were and explained the situation. He admitted that they had made a mistake so we asked if he could deliver a replacement ? He was adamant that if we wanted a replacement we would have to drive to Syston and collect it !!!!!! even after we said that we were unhappy with his suggestion as it was there fault the mistake had been made he still refused to deliver a replacement.We spend roughly £50 a week here each week and this is how the manager treats his customers.The Biriani was cold ... I guess it had been sitting there a while as it was someone else order !!! we had to throw it away.I really hope that the OWNER reads this review as we will NOT be going back again and the poor attitude & customer service from his Manager has cost him £50 a week .. every week ... £200 a month. This could have been rectified by sending us a replacement meal with a driver which would have taken him ten- 15 minutes to deliver.We explained that we live in Ratby and had already driven to Syston to collect ... his answer was .... not his problem ..... its very easy to be nice to people when everything is going well but the mark of a good establishment is good customer service when a mistake is made ... Red Rose your Manager has let you all down.

After staying at our business premises for the weekend due to a busy work load we decided to have an indian takeaway.We ordered our meals by telephone for delivery at 9.30.The takeaway was delivered on time.What a fantastic Indian takeaway, Definately the best we have ever had, and I can assure you we have had Indian takeaways from many places.Very impressed and highly recommend to use.This is also an Indian restaurant.A++++++++

After reading the reviews,we decided to make a visit , the welcome was as warm as if we had been going for years , the menus was looking good , the beer was nice and cold , we ordered , the food came , and that's where it started to go wrong , it all tasted the same as if it was cooked in the same pan , we ordered two completely different meals one a chicken and one lamb , but we could not tell the difference between the either , both very bland if fact not much taste at all , Will not bother again

Absolutely LOVE this place.The food is delicious,with fantastic staff.We have tried many Indian restaurants and this is far the best to eat in or take away.Haven't had a bad meal yet which is very good going as we have been using this place for 10+years.Very welcoming staff who doesn't bother you every 5 minutes,asking to see if the food is okay whilst you have a mouthful of food(I hate that).The restaurant itself is quite small but very clean and modern.We went for a meal NYE 2015,18 people altogether,adults and children and was not disappointed.We booked the room upstairs,our meals came out together and they catered for the children too.Only downfall in the restaurant the toilets are upstairs.Would definitely recommend this place.

As a syston resident I have frequented all the curry houses and this is by far the best..why? Is it service...no, is it premises?...no"it's simply the food...now I have had a lot of curries in my time and red rose is maybe a 6/10 for me which you may think is low but I give the others 2 at best....simply put if I order a korma or a tikka or a tawa etc etc...that is what I want...too many Indian restaurants are going down the one sauce fits all route...which for me ruins the whole experience..you wouldn't go into a burger joint order a burger get a hotdog and go yum yum you'd say buddy I want a burger...yet so many Indian restaurants get away with selling you the one pot wonder...anyway red rose cooks me what I want and it's not even on the menu which is proper customer service and not generic rubbish and gets my vote
