A bit hit or miss, but occasionally it's great!

Average Nepali food. The starter of momo was good but the mains had a lack of choice and ended up being very average. Wouldn’t return as there are many better options around. It is also expensive for what you get.

Really decent curry house - all food fresh, tasty and very well cooked. Egg fried rice and Indochinese food are a real standout!

We recently visited Mount Gurkha in Loughborough with a group of friends, and we had an excellent time. The restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Sherpa chicken and Lamb Momo, both of which were deliciously spiced and full of flavor. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. It’s a perfect spot for a relaxed meal with friends, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Had the Nepali Goat Curry On The Bone with aloo gobi and onion bhaji. All very pleasant. Good service.

Ordered from here for the first time tonight, and between me and my dad had three separate dishes with sauces that were the best we have ever had. Chef's specials are pretty damn special, will be ordering again

We recently visited Mount Gurkha in Loughborough, and it was a delightful experience! The restaurant offers a diverse menu with Indian, Nepalese, Indo-Chinese, and even English dishes, catering to a variety of tastes. The food was absolutely delicious—flavors were rich, and the spices were perfectly balanced. We tried the Nepalese momos and a creamy butter chicken, which were both outstanding. The portion sizes were generous, and everything was beautifully presented. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with tasteful decor that added to the charm of the place.

Food was ok, lady,who we presumed was the owner was pleasant, but rest of staff seemed very aloof, was really miffed at the reaction from the waiter when we gave him a tip as we left. So much so I would never go back there. Nor recommend to anyone else. Don’t have to tip so you’re lucky anything was given.

Amazing place, the staff are amazing and treat you like a VIP and the food, the best I've had in Loughborough. Will be back.

The Madras veg curry that was said it was spicy but it was sweeter.

We are regular takeaway customers here as the food is so tasty! Coming from London, it took us a while to find local places that compete with the amazing food scene there, but Mount Gurkha certainly does! I've tried nearly everything on the menu and you can't make a bad choice.

Authentic south east asian food. Don’t go for the usual “indian” food and instead go with what the waiter says. Chicken Pokhreli and momos are a MUST.

From the moment they opened the door for us, we were well looked after at Mount Gurkha. As always! It's my favourite place to go for a good curry, and I've recommended it to many others who now also love it. Delicious food, cold Cobra, reasonable prices, great service from all of the friendly staff.

Ordered from here 3 times now and the food has been exceptional every time. Really tasty authentic food and always arrives hot despite the fact we live quite far away. Not the cheapest, but well worth the money!

Hands down they make the best momos, its so juicy and flavourful I had to order twice. The rest of the food was equally tasty. They made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. Checked up on us every now and then. Amazing service and the food was 10/10, will definitely come again.

Got a take away from here for the first time. Saag paneer, pilau rice and sheekh kebabs. The food is absolutely beautiful and so full of flavour! This will now be new local! Defo recommend 👌🏽

Soooo delicious. I had the sag paneer & high altitude vegetable (both as side dishes) with rice. They were very falvoursome and I left very full. Would love to go again to try the other vegetarian dishes.

Bank holiday meal with uni daughter. Very easy to find and parking for 2 hours on Sainsbury’s nearby. Nice interior and friendly staff- good crispy poppadoms and chutneys were excellent. Slightly different flavours to our local, very tasty and excellent quality.

Me and my friends visited the place to have dinner and we were extremely surprised to see how good the food was. We ordered the following 3 chicken fried rice. 1 lamb biriyani with raita. 1 chicken Tikka biriyani with curry. 1 chicken sherpa. 1 cheese Nan. 1 lamb chop. 2 vegetable biriyani. Each and every item was 10/10. Highly recommend for everyone living in UK.

Ordered from just eats. As usual I ordered vegetarian food. I ordered vegetable briyani with raita. Chapati and daal makhani. The daal was the yummiest. Whenever I order from this restaurant, I always order daal makhani. Must try restaurant.

Great food and service. A perfect choice for Sunday lunchtime curry. We took our Mum for a mother's day curry. A central location was a bonus. We all chose different dishes and left full and happy.

Ate early on a Saturday. Service was very good and people serving were nice. I have intolerances and they were able to tweak my order to suit me, which was good of them. The food was also very good, especially the meat which was not over-cooked, which is often the case in many restaurants. Lots of flavour. Really enjoyed it and easy on the pocket.

First Indian in a few years, staff are very accommodating, restaurant is kept clean and tidy. Food is very good. Keep going back 😁 Everytime i try something different, it's all good!

The only Ghurka restaurant in town. Top quality Nepalese, Indian, Indo-Chinese food plus a few English dishes. I’ve eaten here many times (and had takeaways too) and always have had really good meals. Staff are lovely, food excellent, comfortable; what more could you wish for?

One of the best curry’s. The nan bread was glistening with ghee, the curry was full of flavour and the room was full of the sent of cardamom. If that was not a good enough recommendation the service was perfect, quick and friendly.

One of the best places in town for a good meal. The food is as good as the service, and discovering new flavors of new dishes is worth any price.

We visited on a Saturday and the restaurant was busy which is always a good sign. We chose dishes that were described as medium spice. However, we found them much milder than we were used to. The Sherpa chicken was particularly sweet as well. Staff were friendly and food and drinks came quickly.

Ordered a huge order from this restaurant yesterday and all I can say is that the taste of the food was exceptional- so satisfying to my taste buds - exactly the taste I was craving- very nice and all the family agreed- also the gentleman on the phone had very good customer service so I give 5 stars

Amazing food with amazing staff and service!

Lovely Indian restaurant right on Ashby Road. We came here as a large group (12) and were very impressed with the speed of the service considering so much was ordered all at once. Being a large group we tasted a good cross section of the menu and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their curries. I personally went for the chicken bhuna and it was lovely tangy tomato with a warming chilli heat throughout. The value for money was incredible and they offer 10% student discount which we were very grateful for, especially given the current economy. The only minor complaint was that the naan bread was rather thin and crispy rather than the more soft, bread-like texture one would expect. Overall the food was highly flavourful and we would certainly return.

Usually order food from here for delivery but decided to have food in the restaurant, glad I did, it was lovely. Food was perfect as always. Certainly my favorite Indian in the area. Naan bread is the best naan bread, I will always recommend this place over any others in and around Loughborough.

Had a late night curry at the Mount Gurkha and have to say it was absolutely delicious. Menu is your usual range of curries that you might find at an Indian restaurant with standard prices but I have to say that the Chicken Karahi that I had was really good in all aspects including flavour and portion size. Friendly and efficient service - look forward to going again.

The food was very nice. I can’t fault the quality of the food but what I can fault is the price. £9 for poppadoms and pickle tray. £4.50 for chips. And what annoyed me the most is after a £60+ order and living one mile away up the road I still had to pay a £1.50 delivery charge! It will be the last time I order from here as it is considerably more expensive than equally as good Indian restaurants. It just isn’t worth it disappointing to say the least.

Mount Gurkha is consistently a wonderful meal. We've eaten in and had delivery many times and are always very satisfied. Delivery times when you order from them directly are unbelievably quick, today my food arrived 20 minutes after ordering! We've had the same man deliver the last few times and he's always very friendly and polite, he even brings treats for our dog so the whole family enjoys when we order Mount Gurkha. Thank you for the great food and service!

Located on Ashby Road, Loughborough. A small restaurant serving Indian Nepalese cuisine. Good for an infrequent dinner with friends. If you're looking for a meal it does stand out though. A favorite of the students around town because they serve beer. I doubt they have reservations but it's better to get a table reserved. I wouldn't spend too much time there as it does tend to get crowded. I loved the spice and the aroma of the food served. Indian-style arches, with traditional lighting decorate the interiors. There isn't any parking around but you could find one on the streets nearby. A pleasant experience overall.

Visited with a group of friends and the service we received was exceptional. Our group visited in the busy hours and despite that there service was fabulous. The food arrived on time despite having multiple curries to our taste buds.

I went to celebrate with my friend and it was amazing. We didn’t have to wait too long food to arrive on our table, Chilli fish and the Meat sizzler is must try. Service was on point and very polite staff We absolutely enjoyed the night and will be definitely coming back.

Was in Loughborough last night on business, so i thought i would give it a try after coming here 4 years ago. Reasonably priced and relatively busy for a Wednesday night. I had original Onion Bhaji, and Lamb Tawa. Lovely food.

Just been here and I love the sherpa chicken. Also, all the staff are really friendly and welcoming!

Our party of 7 booked dinner here and had most enjoyable time. Being a Nepalese restaurant there were plenty of dishes not normally found in an 'Indian' restaurant and we had a number of these. (There are familiar items on the menu as well) We all tried these different dishes and really enjoyed them. Service was extremely friendly and efficient which all contributed to an excellent evening.

This is a family favourite and a regular choice for a birthday meal as it is reliable and tasty. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and good curry. The chilli prawn starter is delicious! Never had a disappointing meal.

We visited Mount Gurkha to celebrate my 60th birthday. This was the first time we had visited the establishment and were a little concerned by the outer appearance, but the external belies the experience we had inside. The staff were very friendly and attentive and very patient, given the inability of our table to make a decision on which meal to have. When the food arrived it was beautiful and excellent quality. I often find when ordering lamb dishes, in some establishments it is very fatty - not here. King prawns were fantastic! At the end of our meal, the staff started singing "Happy Birthday" and presented me with a delicious cheese cake with a candle in it and "Happy Birthday" written on the plate. The staff were not aware of my birthday before our visit and I thought one of our team had set it up - but it was the staff themselves that arranged it. Mount Gurkha turned a lovely experience into a fantastic one! Thank you all for your attentiveness and friendliness. I thoroughly recommend this establishment and I look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future. I'm looking forward to, later, eating what we couldn't manage last night!!

My sister who has spent a large amount of her life living in India and is visiting said "That was the best Indian food I have ever had in the UK". Went for an early evening meal while working in Loughborough. I selected it because I use I restaurant with a similar name in Crosby. Had a lamb starter on a Puri. The sauce was very subtle and was certainly a tongue-teaser. My main course was a chicken dish laced with Himalayan herbs and spices with a hint of chilli. Delicious. Many restos in Loughborough are geared up for the student population. This one also helps students, but does not compromise on the quality of its food. They take Covid 19 seriously with perspex partitions between tables, masks work etc. Very well worth a visit, worth your time, worth your money

I visited this restaurant for the first time with my family and not only did we enjoy the amazing food but also loved the atmosphere inside of this restaurant as it was so calm and relaxing and that’s what me and my family enjoy. I must say it was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to.

Firstly, food was amazing! Great prices too! Ordered via Just Eat. I would definitely recommend this place. I am vegetarian and the choices were excellent! For me, 5 stars! Must order the chilli mogo (cassava chips in a sweet and spicy sauce) - heavenly!

I had 10 onion bhajis AND Chicken Bhuna, Lamb Bhuna, Prawn Bhuna, Mushroom rice, bag of chips and 9 poppadoms. it was a mighty fine confectionery... stupendous! compliments to Le chef.

First time here after friends had recommended for a long time! Visited around mid february, as nothing beats a good curry in the cold, and I can truly say it is the best indian restaurant I have ever visited. With friendly staff, a wholesome atmosphere and a homely feeling. Would definitely recommend the 'tawa lamb' or the tandoori trout.Will be back soon Mount gurkha!

My friend and myself telephoned this restaurant this evening with a view to attending there tomorrow for a meal. My friend has a guide dog and the person who answered the phone refused to even listen to reason with my friend tried to explain that the guide dog was allowed in restaurants. He refused further to allow my friend to speak to the manager to explain the situation! The call was terminated by the person who answered the phone who was in fact very rude during the course of the call.

It had been a long time since I returned back to Mount Gurkha, and I was reminded of how wonderful this small restaurant actually is. The most friendly of staff and the food is unbelievable. A hidden treasure.

Visited on a Sunday evening for a meal with family, pleasantly surprised by the nice welcome, good friendly service & great food. Would be happy to go back again.

We ordered a takeaway for the six of us and I am very disappointed. The portions were small. My curry was packed full of salt and that is all I could taste. The naan bread tasted raw, chewy, doughy and soggy. The popadoms were all smashed. We ordered some some curry’s that are usually a mild to medium dish which were too spicy to eat. Very expensive let down.

The mint sauce chutney had spilt all over the order. Food was good, I think it’s usually better in the restaurant as you get more meat etc. Also we weren’t a huge fan of the lamb.
