Lovely tasty food that is always hot and delivered quickly. Delivery guys are a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend 👍🏻

I have never ordered from here, and certainly never signed up to any messaging list, yet still have received a spam message from them for the last two weeks. Can only stop by texting one of those 6 digit numbers that you never know how much you are going to be charged.

My Review for this place was 5* and we were regular customers. We stopped ordering about a year ago after a very poor experience, however, being fair we thought let's give them a second chance. The second chance was worse, I would love to put a 5* back on, but as of now that cannot be the case. If the owner reads this please use this as constructive feedback as I was a huge fan of your takeaway in the past

We have regular takeaway's and the standard of food and service are excellent. We wouldn't go anywhere else for our meals. Always hot and delicious. Can't recommend them enough.

First time ordering here tonight. Best Indian food we've had for a long time. Very healthy portions so we ordered too much really. Will definitely be ordering from Red Onion again.

Just had another great meal delivered and must have ordered over 25 times from Red Onion in last few years and always been amazing taste and delivery on time, great value and love variety of menu especially chefs specials. Recommend without hesitation to anyone.

Had a lamb curry from here last week, nice and spicy and very tasty! Would definitely recommend getting a curry from this place.

I called the the restaurant asking if they could provide cutlery, because we had no access to cutlery. I asked them to confirm if this is something they could provide before placing the order. They said yes. Once food was on it's way the owner had forgotten to add the cutlery and using the word darling to downplay his mistake, saying people make mistakes. First of all, who are you to call me darling and the fact is I had spoken to the owner and confirmed about the cutlery. If they had said they don't provide it I would of ordered elsewhere but they just wanted the business. Service is terrible, food was cold and worse than any other Indian I've had. Do not order from here and save your money.

Ordered the special chicken rice. It used be good but they now give less chicken and also started to chop the chicken into smaller pieces that you cannot find it in the rice - need a magnifier. Very stingy and not honest..

Terrible photo of an astounding dish. Beautifully cooked, just fell apart. Well worth waiting for. Best onion bhajis in the locality.

This was the first time ordering from red onion tandoori. We ordered for collection, I got a text to say 1 hour 10 minutes before it will be ready. I thought it seemed a bit long so after 50 minutes called to see if it would be ready earlier, only to be told it had been ready for 45 minutes!! When arrived my partner mentioned that's not good but nothing from the staff. The food was lovely but cold. I've tried to get in contact to complain but have been ignored. I won't be returning for this reason, which is a shame as although it was cold it tasted nice.

Red onion is our favourite for Indian. The food is always bang on and service is great. We had our first issue with them today where some items were missing from our order and they turned up at the door with the missing items and an apology before we thought to contact them. Happy returning customers 👍

Absolute joke. Well over priced. Samosas looked like they were from Costco. Over a quid a somosa and half the size of a proper somosa.The guy even tried to justify it behind the counter. Absolutely pathetic. I will never be going here a again. This is not a good takeaway at all. Also not a Indian restaurant.,Bangladeshi which is not the same at all. Q

We order from these guys regularly, they are absolutely spot on in every way. Last night we ordered for 7.45 and it literally came at exactly that time. The food is always hot and so tasty, had mixed grill and lamb korai both were gorgeous . We have had some rubbish experiences in the past with other Indian takeaways, but Red Onion are excellent we would not go anywhere else. 10 out 10 👍🏼

We’ve had a few deliveries from Red Onion now and they’ve always been good, but tonight it was exceptional. The lamb Rogan was delicious, the meat just fell apart, probably the best one I’ve ever had! The king prawn tandoori was full of flavour. Even the Korma our 5 year old had wasn’t just cream and coconut, you could taste layers of gentle spices. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed our curry here. The biryani portion was huge! A little oily but not abnormally so for an Indian. Tasty food

Do not order any Vegetable Samoas starters from them. Got charged £3.50 for 3 tiny ready-made Samosas.Was expecting home made ones, which these definitely weren't. They looked and tasted similar to Shazan Vegetable Samoas which you can get from, the frozen aisle of, any major Supermarkets where you pay £3.50 for a pack of 20. Silly me paid £3.50 for 3. What a rip off.

DON’T GO HERE!!! Most horrendous takeaway ever!!! Ordered via Deliveroo and waited 1hr 30 mins for something that said was 40 mins. Eventually got it after ringing up and asking where it was twice, sat down and opened it up. It was shocking, all the dishes were coated in a layer of oil. The madras had no sauce was just oil (see in pictures) and the rogenjosh and bombay aloo where the exact same. I understand Indians can be oily but this was INEDIBLE. Also the garlic nann was buarnt. I then rang up straight away and proceeded to get argued with and backchatted by the person on the phone. They told me there manager would ring me back to sort the refund. We waited and he rung back saying that he could take the food to reheat it up free of charge. But after spending £30 I had been put off the idea so I asked for a refund again. He then asked me to bring it back to the shop in order to get the refund. Me and my partner went there and he takes the bag off us and tells us “we’re wrong” “it’s not there fault, they had no other complains”. My partner then asked why he got rude on the phone to a customer and especially a girl and he had no point but to be rude back and argue. My partner and me then went to leave being very irritated and angry as he was refusing to give us a refund. So we let him know that we’d make sure his business went slow and no one was to go there. He then tried to come from behind the counter to try and fight my partner. Telling us not to come back as we left. Disgusting food and management. This is a definite no don’t waste your time!

Ordered via Uber Eats - restaurant accepted my order, then cancelled it 10 mins later saying they didn't have any delivery drivers. I offered to collect but they said they were closing even though they were supposed to be open for another 30 mins. It's now too late for me to order food from anywhere else!! The restaurant should never have accepted the order if they couldn't fulfil it. Hugely disappointing service.

Horrible food, curry was tasteless, keema naan was over done and burnt.

Ordered this Indian on recommendations on how nice it is. Thought would try over our normal Indian. Well def nope. Bombay potatoes more oil than anything was no flavour to them at all. Rest of food ok but no way on par to our other place we get out Indian from. Flavours and tastes were bland. Would not be trying again definitely sticking my other place

First time order from red onion on Saturday Eve , food arrived on time even though they were short of delivery drivers . Food was excellent and still hot when it arrived . We shall definitely be ordering again . Thank you red onion 😋

Thought we would try this place as we received a menu through our door. It was a good decision, food arrived on time, it was boiling hot and it tasted amazing. Will definitely be using this place going forward !!!

Really incredible food, authentic and delicious. The Dhaal Masala was the best I've had in the UK and Murg Masala is one of my favourite dishes but you don't see it very often, and then it is often dry and unappetizing. This was perfect, I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Best of luck Red Onion, I'll certainly be recommending you.

If it was a touch cheaper i would have used it more, but even on an average wage, it's dishes were just too expensive to buy often, would loved to have used it more for tasty asian meals, may be closed now, have not seen it open for a bit now

Did not find it very clean Food was below average.

Ordered a chicken Tikka Masala which tasted rubbery so I left it. The Prawns in the Prawn Puri had bits of shell on them and looked translucent so left that as well. The Saag Aloo was good but you can’t go wrong with spinach and potatoes. They also forgot one of our rice orders. Won’t be using these again. Very disappointed.

Best Indian takeaway I've had and I've been used to all the main ones in Reading. I always use this place now and never get disappointed. Nice friendly Nepalese owners know how to cook proper dishes from India. A lot better tha Shapla nearby and much cheaper than Dilwar etc. 5 star
