Red Lion Public House in Fareham

**Review for the Red Lion** I had a disappointing experience at the Red Lion last night. Unfortunately, I encountered a confrontational young male bar staff member who raised his voice at me, despite my requests for him to calm down and end the conversation. As the owner of a successful care business, I was alarmed not only by his tone but also by the unprofessionalism displayed while I was seated with a professional colleague. When the bar staff member continued his aggressive behavior, I sought assistance from what appeared to be a senior staff member. I expressed my concerns, highlighting that I often tip bar staff generously and purchase drinks, and that I do not expect to be treated in such a manner. However, the young man approached us again and became confrontational, insisting on staying despite my request for him to leave the conversation. Ultimately, when I informed the senior staff member that we would be leaving and mentioned that my company would likely reconsider using the Red Lion for future stays, her response was simply, "That's up to you." This lack of concern for customer experience struck me as a strange way to run a business. It's worth noting that all this trouble stemmed from a simple request for a shot of lime in soda water. We decided to leave and went to the Vito Lounge, where we enjoyed a lovely meal, and the bar staff were not only polite but also got our order right. I will certainly be choosing Vito Lounge in the future over the Red Lion.

Was working in fareham, im drom the midlands, passing through, I saw this place so popped in to look at the menu. Had the sea bass and scallop with king prawn risotto. It was well presented, tasted great and plenty of it. I ate in the bar area not the restaurant so it was a bit tired looking and the best atmosphere but I'm sure the restaurant would be great.

As a regular at this restaurant I would say a big thank you to the restaurant staff who were extremely busy, Abi , Roccio and Alison were excellent. The bar staff also were rushed off their feet but coped admirably. Well done everyone.

We were a party of 4 and we were celebrating a Family Birthday. Our meal was lovely-a very good menu and great service from all the Restaurant team. This is definitely our favourite Restaurant.

Booked a table for 3 for my dad's birthday and we all had a roast dinner. 1 turkey, 1 beef and 1 trio of meats. The portion size was more than enough and the quality of food good. The beef however, on the trio plate was tiny and once the fat was cut off it left for a very miniscule slice indeed. This didn't ruin the visit though. The service was great from our 2 waitresses and both were happy and chatty.

The Red Lion Hotel is one of the few remaining coaching inns in Fareham serving traditional food. Excellent menu and Sunday roast, it is advisable to book on Sundays as it is very popular with the locals. Wonderful atmosphere.
