Red Fort in Tonbridge and Malling

Had a lovely birthday meal for four. Excellent Indian food and two of us had Nepalese dishes which made a change and were lovely. Food and service were excellent. Good quality and value.

Eat in sit down meal after a day out and a family vote. Food was nice, fresh and tasty. Drinks free flowing as they're good at checking. Prices though, whoooaaa! £90 for 2 adults and 1 child, 2 starters, 3 mains, 2 sides and a naan?

Following a delivery i needed to make a comment. The food is delicious but prices have soared and quantities reduced. We were charged £4.15 for 2 onion bhajis!! We used to order once a week but will now order less regularly. Hopefully they will increase the portion size or reduce some of the prices. They are pricing themselves out of our range. A shame

We went for Sunday buffet today. Absolutely spot on. All the dishes were lovely. Service great as well. Totally recommend this place.

Have been before but tonight was exceptional. Rob was so friendly and efficient. He told us there is a new chef here and the food was so tasty, if you haven’t been for a while, it’s worth a re-visit. We will be back again soon! Edit: new chef has started a buffet every Sunday and it’s half price for 3 weeks in August!

Met with a friend last night for a curry at The Red Fort in East Peckham. Both Louis and Deepa were extremely helpful when we were choosing our food from the menu and the resulting two-course meal was absolutely fabulous! We would both highly recommend.

Plenty of parking here which is always a plus. The staff are very efficient if a little on the cool side. We had a nicely located table but were rather chilly . The menu was varied and flexible and the food was tasty. Prices are very fair.

We had our monthly curry night at the Red Fort, our second visit as part of the LoSG curry club. We all agreed a very decent curry, mixed starters were plentiful, fresh and hot. The mains were excellent and were bursting with flavours. The rices were again flavoursome the naans freshly baked and the side dishes top notch. Very good service to boot, you won't go far wrong in booking this restaurant The LoSG will return.

Service was poor, waiter seemed rushed, sold out of alot of items for a Saturday night this is bad planning. Had no cutlery with main course. Hardly any meat in my curry. Overall very poor standard Been here years ago and the place is still the same.

Enjoyable meal: salmon tikka, chicken tikka, chana masala (chick peas), salad and rice. The healthy option Indian! Service had definitely improved from our last visit when it had only just changed hands. So definitely worth the trip. Thank you.

I would give 0 stars if I could - terrible service. The meal did not arrive, and we could not get through to the restaurant on the phone. Finally, 3 hours after we ordered our food, one member of staff finally answered the phone and it turned out that the food hadn't even left the premises yet!! The staff member informed me that the owner would ring me as soon as he got back (estimated in 1 hour) - he never did. Atrocious.

Don’t get me wrong. We love the food here and ate well once again. BUT Not one person serving our table was wearing a mask properly. One man had his mask covering his chin leaving his mouth and nose exposed. Everyone else had their mask only covering their mouth and not covering the nose. If you don’t wear a mask properly then you may as well not bother. It doesn’t protect you or your your customers. I’m sorry, but we shall not be returning until after masks stop being necessary.

Had another excellent meal at The Red Fort last night. The staff are really friendly and service was fantastic. Absolutely the best Indian food around the area - I had my usual chicken Jalfrezi with mushroom rice, onion bhaji, mushroom bhaji and roti - all delicious and knock spots off all other local Indian restaurants. Even the poppadoms are extra light and crispy - will definitely be back again soon.

The Red Fort has been my favourite Indian restaurant for a while. Coming from me that is a huge compliment. They had a sticky spell last year and the chef they had at the time was no where near up to their usual standards but the new chef is spot on. Rob the manager is a lovely fella and they cook the best chicken Balti I have ever eaten. So very glad this place has got back to its best.

The service is fantastic... we always leave with a smile on our faces. The food is absolutely amazing and so delicious especially their naan breads. Our favourite local Indian! :)

Had an excellent meal with the family on Saturday. Food was excellent and service was too. Ate there some years ago which was okay, but now its really good. Probably the best Indian in the local area. Definitely recommend.

Been here a few times and it just gets better. Tonight we had the Biryani and it was probably the best I’ve had in years. Very well presented and full of flavour. The service was excellent, not too overpowering but kept close by to make Shaw our dining experience was a good one. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Even gave us a doggy bag as the portions were generous and filling. Gonna make it a regular thing. Don’t take my word for it, try it yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

We've only visited a couple of times so far, but each time we've been so impressed. The food is excellent and the staff so helpful and nice. Loving the new decor and linen. We will definitely be back again very soon.

We popped in to grab a light snack, got it home and it was lovely. Their prices are now good and really enjoyed the food. Will return.

Visited here for a family birthday dinner on a Wednesday. On arrival there were 2 other tables occupied but come 9:30 we were the only ones still there and we felt like they were waiting for us to leave. Food was very okay. Nothing to complain about but nothing special to note. The food hygiene rating of 3/5 on the door as you walk in is rather shocking and made us a little nervous for what we were about to eat. Our waiter was very friendly and interactive which we think we was the best part of our meal.

Having vowed never to return we were persuaded to return by a friend who told us a new chef had been appointed. As we walked in the door we realised that the carpet had been thoroughly cleaned as had the furniture which had looked very dirty on our last visit.and the walls had all been repainted. We were warmly greeted by the new manager who recognised us (he had worked at the Red Fort under the previous owners) and given a choice of tables. The service was friendly and efficient and the standard of the food was very good with the portions being generous. What a transformation. We will definitely be back..

The Red Fort is a great restaurant. Had a meal there tonight, everything was perfect. Excellent food, friendly, helpful and attentive staff. Cannot get much better than this.

First time at the venue and was incredibly surprised. Great food ,service and affordable Waiter was friendly and engaging and management even more so.

We noticed the resturaunt was open on New Year's Day, so decided to have a meal there. So glad we did. Food was delicious with great service. I thought the price was fair. We would definitely recommend this resturaunt.

This restaurant went under new ownership a few months ago and now services Nepali and Indian cuisine. Serves some distinctive and really pleasant Nepali dishes. Unlike many other “Indian” restaurants, the curries are not at greasy but really rich in flavour. Would highly recommend the Red Fort.

Four of us booked to be at the Elvis evening on Wednesday 30 October at the Red Fort. I had heard that the restaurant had new ownership but I had not been there for a while so thought I might not notice. NOT AT ALL. The staff were pleasant enough but very, very slow and poor service. One waiter argued that one of us could not have a non-alcoholic Becs Blue as they didn't serve it - strange as she had just had one!! Our food - and not a complicated order - took over an hour and a half to arrive. I would say it was edible but a lot of sauce and definitely not freshly cooked. The owner/manager was aware we were dissatisfied but made no apology. We paid the bill and then he asked if we would like more drinks!! One waiter walked around the restaurant all night - just walked and did nothing!! Weird.

Elvis night - He was excellent but every other aspect was poor.

I went for a takeaway last night and the experience was much better. Food not so spicy but still in single use plastic containers. Generous portions and 10% discount for pick up. Plus, finally, they do delivery. I have high hopes they will continue to listen to feedback and improve.

Red Fort has always been a favourite of ours. A little more pricey than other local Indian Restaurants but well worth the extra few £. We have not, eaten in or from there for some time. We ordered a takeaway tonight. Service was good, food was OK but not the excellent standard we have been used to over the years and and I could not help but think, owing to some solid rice in the plastic food containers that it had been microwaved and overcooked. and why WHY with all the publicity about single use plastics are they insisting on using plastic tubs put the takeaway food in?

Have been using this restaurant for years and always had brilliant service and food. It has recently come under new management, and this is the first time we had been in to eat since. Although the food was good the service left a lot to be desired. We waited nearly 2 hours for our starter to arrive? We were told just before the mains were served that they did not have certain dishes we had ordered so had to choose alternatives. Drinks were a bit hit and miss also.

1st ever visit tonight and was quite disappointed. Staff were pleasent and polite but service was slow. Decoration is tired and needs updating, the ladies was foul smelling but clean?? Food was ok but nothing special. We had popadums, 2 mains and 1side and rice, 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers came to £48 so ver reasonably priced. All in all won't rush back.

Good menu, great parking, friendly but slow service and fab atmosphere. Prices are fair too. Delicious paneer with chilli. Soda and lime was a bit weak . Would recommend and will return.

Firstly, I have to say that I have been a huge fan of the (previously owned) Red Fort for more than 15 years... just the best ever Indian restaurant and the most delicious food. Part of me didn't want to come back now that Shaheen and his familiar staff have moved on but in the name of giving a fair chance we had dinner here last night. Restaurant was quite busy and we had high hopes. Sadly however, have to report service was poor, very slow, wine was very very limited but most importantly of all food was not up to scratch at all.

Tried Red Fort again as under new management and was pleasantly impressed with our meal. Keep up good work.

Haven’t been here for some time when the old management were running it. Not sure what has happened but the food was excellent. Fresh and tasty. I don’t live in the area but my friend does and we go out for a curry every month or so. This will certainly be getting another visit from us. The. Chicken jalfrezi was delicious, and I recommend you try the black daal side (can’t remember its name, but despite what is says in the menu, they do it as a side dish).

I am absolutely gutted that since Shahin sold this restaurant the food is rapidly going downhill. The staff are all lovely but each meal over the last two or so months has got worse. It feels like they have lost their best chef and I sadly will no longer go there which is really upsetting because for me it used to be the best curry house by miles.

Great food, welcoming staff. Very clean. Most appealing menu, spoilt for choice. Outlived all the pop up indian restaurants around!

Just had 2 takeaways from there and both been very good. The food seems slightly different but for the better. Seems fresher and tastes lovely. Will be going back. I believe a new menu is coming soon as well.

I was taken here by a friend recently and Was very impressed with the food quality, the pricing and the service. Since then I have been back and have booked a meal there with friends tonight. For me it is worth the 30-40 minute drive despite having many other establishments closer to home.

Once again we had another great evening here. Food was lovely and great service even though they were busy. Plenty of parking. Definitely recommend.

Plenty of parking spaces on arrival. Very attentive service, excellent food. Superb staff. Very clean, efficient and friendly. Sensible prices. It my 3rd visit and I love this place, I'm working my way through the menu trying out all the delicious dishes.

We went to red fort with a table on 19 the guys made us feel welcome had great hole with them and best service that we could from them 5* rating all round !!

Very well known restaurant in East Peckham recommend by few associates. Came to check and taste the foods. It was delicious.

never had a bad meal here but if you can avoid the slippery hand shake on way out its even better lol

Staff always friendly and food also pretty much produced to the quoted times. My partners food intolerances have never been a problem. Would thouroughly recommend.

I usually enjoy eating here but standards are slipping. Really need new menus because very old and dirty. Table cloths had stains. But worse of all was my plate and my friends plate had food stains on them. Food took an hour to come out. Time for me to find a new Indian Restaurant.

The food here is always exceptional however, a member of staff kept staring at me all night and when I went to leave he walked past with the trolly and purposely pushed into me and mumbled something. I found this extremely rude and due to me feeling shocked about it I did not mention it to my partner until I left the building. Due to my bad experience I will not be returning.

Hadnt been to this place for years and it was nice to still see it trading. Lovely food and attentive service and all at very reasonable prices. The mint main dish was particularly good. Will re visit when in the area again

Third time I have eaten here. Staff are polite and the food is great. Highly recommend. Plenty of Parking spaces and slightly off the beaten track.

All four of us in the group are vegetarian/vegan. Could do with a couple more vegan options for a main dish but very nice vegetarian dishes.

Although we live locally, we hadn't visited the Red Fort for a couple of years. The quality of food and standard of service remain excellent. We were a group of 4, all of us had a different main course. The meals were all excellent; reasonably generous portions so you won't leave hungry !!

Head for the Red Fort! The food is always very good and there is a warm welcome by the restaurant owner and his staff. We prefer the booths unless we are in a group of five or more.

Once again we had a great night here. Rob and the other staff are always friendly, helpful and make you feel welcome.

Four of us have just eaten the best Indian takeaway for a long time. Nann breads done to perfection, Chicken Tikkka masala, Chicken Passanda, Chicken Jalfrazie all perfect, as were the side dishes, rice, Bombay Aloo, etc all perfectly cooked, lovely. Ready at the time promised. Three staff we spoke to were polite and helpful. Do go there if your near East Peckham.

This is my local Indian restaurant, the decor is a bit dated but the food if great. I’ve been there at least a dozen times for mixture of dining in and take away, never had a bad meal once from them so you can order with confidence

Live locally and go regularly. Always a great place to go. Waiters are efficient and very friendly. Manager comes and greets you at your table. Prices are reasonable and I highly recommend it.

Having been to the red fort on a few occasions we were very disappointed on our last visit 2 weeks ago ... the service was appalling... we had a bottle of wine blonked on our table and left for us to open and pour and it was white but no ice bucket to keep it cool... food was plonked onto table and no-one came over to check if all ok or we needed anything else... we asked for bill and it was put on our table but no 'how was everything?' Not friendly and no care or thought... will not be going back again

Very nice food. Enjoyed all of our dishes. Just wish they would bin the dated candle holders and replace the flowers which looked like they'd been on the tables too long!

I have never eaten in here, but had a few takeaways and the food is very good I would say. Although the price is possibly a bit on the high side? but then I guess you get what you pay for. Limited parking and can get busy on Friday nights. Very nice helpful staff - gave me a half on the house while I was waiting :)

We had a great evening here. Staff really friendly and helpful. Food was tasty but we thought the rice portion could of done with being slightly bigger non the less the rest of food was great value for the money we paid. Will definitely visit again.

Poor service,food not great waited over an hour for our main course. Messed up the Bill and the staff didn't seem to be bothered. Will not be returning anytime soon as better restaurants in the area.

Can't believe previous reviews of this place,we had booked a table but still had to wait on arrival,dirty stained menus presented to us,worn out and tatty cutlery,and plates,one of our starters was ok that was it,waiter dumps whole portion of rice on your plate without asking,both our mains were poor,sides poor,made them aware we didn't like it,and was offered a whopping 5% off with no apologies,definitely won't return

We visited on New Nears Eve and were pretty disappointed with the food and service. We have been twice before and it's been okay.... nothing special, but New Years Eve the food was very bad!

I came here with my family whom I was visiting. I must say the staff are great, very attentive but not intruding.The food was served quickly but was hot and it tasted amazing. We all enjoyed our food and they were good sized portions.For what we had the price was very good. I will definitely be returning to try some of their other dishes.

We have been visiting the Red Fort for longer than I care to remember and have never been disappointed. The food is varied and is always good quality. We always receive a warm welcome from management and staff and they are very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary liqueurs to celebrate Christmas was a very nice touch. If you've not been I would definitely recommend a visit.

We regularly eat at the Red Fort, the cuisine is traditionally Indian, with good portions and well priced. Need to get there reasonable early to get a booth, which provides a great way to enjoy the evening /food.No flash gimmicks, Indian food at its best.

This place is out of this world! We have recently moved to the area and Red fort has already become our favourite restaurant ever. Staff are very friendly, food is brilliant and not your ordinary everyday curry!!! Special red fort menu is brilliant. The ambiance is good too. You must visit this place and try their special menu!!!! Must not forget the 5* service. Already looking forward to my next visit.

We have been here a few times now and have not had a disappointing experience yet. Great food, fast service and very attentive staff. During our visit a couple of days ago, the owner made a point of visiting our table and also shaking hands on the way out. A nice personal touch.

the only good thing was the service ,the place is is dirty needs a good paint job,my dinner was greasy and tasteless,they need new menus,outside is a state.will never visit again.

We have been coming here most Friday nights for qutie some years. Don't even live in the village anymore but still come back regularly for a Friday Night Curry. Other Indian Restaurants just aren't the same.Having got to know the menu rather well they will accommodate changes to suit and always with a willingness to please. They will also vary how hot a dish can be if you ask.Service is quirky, but always good and very attentive.Menu is a bit different to many Indian Restaurants and I would strongly recommend any of the Red Fort Specials or the Chef's Specials. The Red Fort Spicy Chicken, Lamb or best of all King Prawn, which is not actually listed, is a signature dish with carrots, olives and cheese and is probably one of my favourite dishes anywhere.Look out for Elvis Night, a real scream!

We have visited tonight, and have Been here when visiting family over the last 20 years. 6 of us visited and had a lovely meal. Service was really efficient and also they are very attentive, nothing is too much trouble. Lovely place to go for a meal with adults or a lovely family feel around tea time. Will always return here as you know what you will get and food is always good and prices are very reasonable.

A very average curry house in East Peckham, ate here a few times but not rushed back. Food isn't bad, the normal selection, never really quite hot enough (as in it's warm) and the service is acceptable. Don't like the way they asked why we didn't tip - the service wasn't good enough to justify it - and the owner seems quite belligerent. Better places nearby!
