Red Dog Saloon in Nottingham

Really quiet when we visited, which suited us. We were offered the choice of sitting in the restaurant or in the sports bar area, and we chose the restaurant. Loved the playlist when we were there, really added to the atmosphere of the place. Our server was lovely, really friendly and attentive, and we had a pleasant chat with him whilst paying our bill. The food was good, massive portions so you won’t need a starter! We shared the New York Platter and were unable to finish it, altho you can take it away in a box.

Amazing food as always very filling and lovely friendly service. We took some friends from the Netherlands they had a great time

Initially attracted by the seating outside in the mid day sun we stopped for one drink but we're enticed in by the smell of the food. We had a burger each. He had a peanut butter burger and rated it 4/5. Veggie options were limited but I opted for a beyond meat burger and rate it 5/5. Chips were also very tasty. We also had the banana desert 5/5. Staff were friendly and approachable. Would visit again 😊

Me and my boyfriend eat here last night, and WOW definitely wasn't disappointed. Truly enjoyed our time here, the food was amazing and hot, there was a great selection of drinks available, guttered there was no Mac & Cheese but I’ll have it next time. I came into the restaurant for dinner over the weekend and the service provided by Kaylah was excellent. She made sure I had everything I needed and I will definitely be returning again.

Previously a 4, and then we went back a 2nd time and the place is excellent. Food is great, service is excellent and love the relaxed atmosphere. All the TV screens are a bonus for watching sport. We'll definitely be back next time we visit Nottingham

An unpleasant experience after having been really looking forward to this meal, we love an American/bbq restaurant but this is the most underwhelming and disappointing place by far. £19 for some brisket and the most measly portion arrived at our table. No sides are included either, another rip off. No server came up to us whilst we were eating to ask if everything is ok/offer to get sauces etc so we had no choice but to wait until we had finished to say anything, which we did but obviously nothing was done and she didn’t really seem to care. This is an American style restaurant not fine dining, but the portions and prices suggest otherwise. The tip is then automatically added onto the bill so you feel obliged to pay. Will not return or recommend.

Popped in with my son on Saturday as we were passing. We both had the Bouffalant Burgers which were beef patty and fried chicken with all sorts of sauce and toppings. Definitely up there with the best burgers I’ve ever had. Our server Kaylah was lovely and very attentive. Already planning our return visit.

What a find! All things American here, including INCREDIBLE burgers. We had the hickory and the rodeo burgers, very good. Oh and the burnt end mash is 👌 Great decor, great atmosphere (country music ftw). Topped off with excellent service from Kaylah (thank you!). Highly recommend.

Probably the best burger I have had the brisket was like butter amazing! Kaylah who served was very friendly and have us fantastic service. Definitely will return.

I went to Red Dog Saloon on Sunday and had Kaylah as my waitress. She provided phenomenal service and I will definitely will be asking for Kaylah when I return to the restaurant.

We came for the ice hockey play-offs from Manchester and we decided to have dinner here. It was just amazing and delicious. We ordered the Kentucky meal for two people. Rachel was an amazing host, so nice and friendly. I strongly recommend this place.

I'm a regular customer both eating in and delivery. I always go for the burgers because I simply love them (punisher most of the times). However, I have felt a change in the bun for a few months now, whereas before it felt like a very tasty brioche type of bun, now it is different and I personally do not like it that much. I wanted to give this feedback because this has changed a bit my overall experience with the burgers. Other than that, I recommend the place 100%

Me and my wife visited Red Dog on the 9th of April and neither of us was disappointed. The service was top notch and hats off to Courtney who was fabulous. Friendly and helpful . Will definitely be returning.

Never had a bad meal here over the years. Last visited a couple of Friday ago. We did book via the website and did give our names on arrival but still got a text saying we was late. Did mention it to a staff member so hopefully we aren’t blacklisted !!

Came for a meal alone last night and was served by Megan who was lovely, kind and attentive Food was nice and great portions of coke Was only put off with the amount of flies attacking my food during my meal

Came in with my husband who loves a good burger and he was very happy. we had a lovely server called Courtney she was very helpful and looked after us very well.

I had a fantastic meal with my friend at Red Dog. The food was amazing and being my first visit I was looked after beautifully by Courtney who guided us through the menu. Highly recommend and super thanks to Courtney. Ps make sure you have a frozen custard shake. Wow wow wow. Tasha

Had some of the best bbq outside the states here, atmosphere was wonderful, the burgers cooked to perfect, and the lemonade and iced tea fresh. We were helped by a lovely girl called Poppy who ensured our meal was the best it could be.

Really looked forward to eating here was not the best experience 4 of us 3 meals came 1 late 1 under cooked and one starter chicken was red couldn't eat atmosphere not good with a group of 10 plus lads steaming on the next tqble so loud very bad for a restaurant and so loud were not told to calm down. Meal wasn't good complimentary drinks does not cut a high bill would not recommend meals not that good atmosphere not good sadly

I absolutely love eating here, the service is great, the food is lovely, great atmosphere. The only reason I've not given 5 star is because they added hot sauce to my wife's burger by mistake, we didn't raise this on the evening we dined, but I'm confident that they would have swapped it if we had. A little expensive given that a portion of fries to go with your burger are £5.50. would recommend to anyone that loves American BBQ.

We have visited Red Dog at least 4 times now, this time unfortunately we were left disappointed. Mac and cheese was grainy, sauce split, not very tasty. Pit beans were rock hard! Coleslaw was put right next to hot chicken which made it warm and soggy. We had to ask 3 times for some table water and napkins, staff were eating trifle behind the bar while we were trying to get one of their attention. For an expensive burger place, it really wasn't up to scratch this time.

The food is amazing, and though the prices are high the portions are very large so you absolutely get what you pay for! The music is great! The customer service is amazing and all the servers are so polite, our server was Lily and she was amazing!

Very bad experience on Saturday night. Had high hopes for this place after hearing how nice it was from people, the food, well what can I say, for the price (and I know I’ll get the generic ‘it’s high quality ingredients’ response from the restaurant) was not high quality. The chef was clearly having a horrendous day as there was too much salt in practically everything, my popcorn chicken was cremated and everything was disjointed. The fact that a portion of soggy chips was £5.50 was also ludicrous. Couple that with the fact that the food also did not arrive as one and we were all waiting on our food while the platter came a good 10 minutes before everyone else’s food was atrocious. The restaurant clearly only care about their platters and nothing else. Then for the desserts, the sticky toffee pudding was stone cold, the fudge cake was rock hard and the cheesecake was hideous. We spent over £300 pound for what? Then the ‘discretionary’ service charge of £31, which we did not pay as it was absolutely not deserved at all. Will never be returning. I suggest if you want a nice, authentic and reasonably priced meal with actual high quality ingredients and a decent chef, go to a Hickory’s Smokehouse.

Very disappointed, I’ve read a few reviews and it seems we’re not alone in our experience. The price for portion size in this place is a joke. They claim that the price is reflective of the ingredients that they use, I really doubt that. £18.50 for 5 strips of beef brisket, £16 for one burger, £5.50 for a side of fries, it’s a sports bar, not the ritz. You can use the claim of quality ingredients when you charge £5.50 for a portion of fries The servers were the only thing that didn’t let this place down, other than that value for money is very very poor. Good tasting meat and burgers. Shocked that fries weren't served with the burgers, but were an additional £5.50. When burgers cost between £12.50 and £22.50, you would expect sides to be included. Starters and sides all very overpriced for what they were. Pleasant staff and ambience. We wouldn't return, purely due to the poor value for money.

Good food, just beware the Fry's sauce, it has loads of cayenne in it, so even if you think you ordered something without spice, you may not have. Staff didn't seem to know and tried to say the heat was in the coating of the chicken. Sides are too expensive (£5.50 for a small cup of fries!).

Food was almost inedible, it looked the part but was heavily over seasoned with salt to the point that we ended up (all 7 of us) leaving the majority of our burgers. I think it may have just been the patty mix used for all of our burgers. The manager did agree to remove the fries and 1 burger from the bill which was a nice gesture but we left feeling very underwhelmed. The atmosphere was pretty good and the person serving us was great. They do need to fix the slamming door though, gets quite annoying when sat next to it.

The food was very greasy, the server was rude, the cheesesteak had way too much sauce on to the point where it was completely overwhelming and there was no taste. The onion rings were very greasy and had very little batter. The price was ridiculously high and half of the “meals” don’t include chips so they are £6 extra. For two people we ended up paying >£60 for two meals and two non alcoholic drinks which is incredibly high. Save your money and go elsewhere and enjoy your meal

The food & beer here are all OK. I had a philly cheese steak. Which was very tasty. However, it's very pricey, in my opinion You main meal will not come with anything with it. No fries, no coleslaw, no salad, it's all extra. We had 4 mains, 3 fries, deep fried oysters & croquettes. 3 alcohol drink (not cocktails) & a large coke. The princely sun of £150 Inc service charge. Very over priced. I know it's easy to.complain after the event & nobody made us stay but we had never been to Nottingham before. Anyway, the food was nice enough, just pricey

Went in the other day and got the platter. Where do I start the mac and cheese is disgusting like water with slight cheese flavouring. The pork was just about warm and and the texture was not nice. The burgers were meh with the buns being wet through with grease and five guys blows the burgers out the park. The chicken tasted like it was just sat under a warmer. However brisket was not too bad and the beans were decent. The price point for the standard of food I can’t understand 62.50 for the platter when the food was sub par. The Oreo milkshake was nice and reasonably priced however for a Coke being nearly a fiver is a joke. Then the audacity for a nearly 10 pound service charge for what ?? Won’t be returning

Without a doubt, the best burgers in nottingham. Double cheeseburger with chilli is incredible. Not on the menu but ask for it and you shall receive!

We went here for mother's day, seemed lovely inside. Service was quite slow and it wasn't too busy so don't understand why. Food was quite expensive £18 for a burger and need to pay extra for a mug size of fries (£5.50). Food was nice but extremely salty. Drinks priced at £4.75 for a pint of Coke. Which later saw was cans of Coke poured into a glass. I asked for a small prosecco as it was mother's day £7.50 and was warm. Overall spent £97 on a family of 4 consisting of one child's meal, 3 burgers, 2 fries and pickles. Plus drinks. We have definatly had better within the area and won't be returning.

Popped into here the other night on our way to a show. I’m sorry but burger and chips and a drink each for the four of us should not cost the best part of £200 especially when two of those drinks were coke!! As for the food. It was shocking!! Nearly £20 for a burger that comes with no sides is an absolute joke and I don’t mind paying for good food but the burgers were so highly salted that tasting anything else was impossible. Will never visit again that’s for sure. On the plus side the service was good and the staff friendly

Came a few years ago and at the time I gave them 1 star. Have to change my review today. Re-tried them today and honestly it was amazing. Food was brilliant, well cooked, generous portions. Service was great. Yes it's pricy but it's justified by the quality, you get what you pay for. So glad we gave them a second chance.

The place is classily laid out and the food was great. Quality food that felt fair value for the price. The rating is dragged down by a doosh comment from the guy on the front desk who greeted my offer of a handshake as I walked in with "I'm not shaking that hand, I don't know where you've been". Not in a funny way, more a "i think you should be getting your burger in mcdonalds" kind of way. Well thanks chum ... if no handshakes is a principle you have in life then who am I to argue (but I recommend tweaking the wording and delivery) ... but I suspect you just picked me out as the guy to dump on to make sure the colleagues that flanked you knew who the alpha male in the house was. Anyway, I didn't go there for a chat, so took my seat and enjoyed an excellent dinner.

Used to come here 2023 every Wednesday between 11-1 and the service was good This year I came and there was a new staff new menu and everything was different. The staff were weird and didn’t wanna serve properly only a gentleman with tattoos was nice to me. The food was horrible for some reason not as good as before definitely worse quality food, 3 of us ate 1 has horrible diarrhea, and I can feel the meat in my stomach still. The fries used to come with a delicious powder and now they come bland and when I asked for extra powder they said no we can’t give you a small packet? Last year the manager lance used to give me as much as I’d like. Definitely don’t recommend overpriced and low quality.

We visited your restaurant yesterday and just wanted to say that we wasn't happy. My wife had an lbt thing, I asked for the titan ruler. We was told the brisket wouldn't be ready during our visit which affected ours and the hickory burger. I said we will just have our drinks and go. About 5 minutes later some one came over and said oh they have enough brisket for the burgers now do we want to order what we first wanted so we agreed. When it came out it was tiny and not even sure if it had brisket in it. I thought for £18.75 for what I received was outrages and total bill being £48 something for our 2 meals and 2 cokes. with a tip built in was no better than having a burger at a hungry horse.

Walked in, stood waited to be seated and was asked to move to another server, a few moments later we were asked to move again to someone else, then asked to go sit at the bar. There were flies around the bar, and for some reason a sorry looking bag of salad. We ordered drinks, and one of the waiting staff was telling off another for using the wrong glasses for drinks. If you're really that up your own arse about what drink goes in what glass then make sure you communicate that to staff away from paying customers, you just make yourself look unprofessional and childish. We finally got seated, and waited absolutely ages for someone to take our order. The burgers are around £15, and you get no sides, you have to pay for them, a portion of fries was £4.50, and it was a pathetic amount of fries. The food, was definitely not worth the price, it was awful, flavourless, and just a mess. The fries were cold, and not even a handful. Also, the flies around the table made the experience even better. The atmosphere was loud, men shouting at the top of their voices, people pushing by, the staff all looking dazed and confused. And one last thing, set off for the toilet 10 minutes in advance, and take a map with you, because it's a very long walk. I know this all all harsh to say but it's the truth, definitely will not be going back. We tried Annie's the day after... Now that was a damn good burger, same price, better quality, better staff, no flies!

Genuinely one of, if not THE best burger I have ever had was here today. Had the sweet bourbon BBQ and let me tell you, the caramelized onions, peach bbq and garlic mayo tasted soo sooooo good together, I couldn't stop telling my friend across the table.
