Red Bull Pub in Cheshire West and Chester

Lovely place , very friendly locals and great atmosphere, I went for a meal whilst I visited the area and it did not disappoint, the food was lovely , myself and my 2 children enjoyed it and will definitely return next time we are in the area.

Friendly, local, cozy and....beer (lots of)

We booked to come here on Sunday at 6pm. Upon arriving was met by a very friendly welcome and shown to a nice table in the room with a real log fire, which was nice and cosy. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food was amazing. We started with chicken goujons which all the family really enjoyed. We had 2 kids meals which were a generous portion size and looked homemade. Us adults had a lamb shank and tikka masala, both tasted amazing and very good quality food. We got a portion of chips to share, and these were so nice they were gone in minutes. Although there was no internet signal, there was board games available to keep the kids occupied, whilst waiting for the food, of which was also very quick to be served. The locals in the pub were also very welcoming. Thank you very much for a lovely Sunday meal out in the countryside, we will defo be returning.

Me and my wife popped in today after doing a circular walk that started nearby. Food was great and felt very welcome Red bull burger was really good well worth a visit.

Warm welcome from.staff on arrival, made me feel very at ease as I was on my own, ordered the lamb shank which came out fast and was pipping hot, plus delicious. Had company from the pub cat whilst the rest of the customer did a pub quiz. Very pleasant experience here. Food was lovely and staff were great. Thank you.

We were the only ones eating, the food was out of a packet. Garlic mushrooms were typical Iceland ones with a pot of mayonnaise and some limp lettuce. The fish cakes were all mash, definitely not home made, the pasta was cook chill, all stodgy, not pleasant, the fish wasn’t a battered filet, it was brown mashed up cheap thing out of the freezer, all in all very disappointing for a birthday meal. Don’t be fooled by the earlier reviews like we were.

3rd time in as many weeks, great service, huge portions. Fab village pub. Definitely worth a visit if your passing or even if a little out of your way. Will be a regular haunt for us now even when the eat out to help out finishes.

Travelled across to the Red Bull last night for some cider and a game of poker.. Its a bit like the pub called The Slaughtered Lamb in the film American Werewolf in London.. lots of local people. I've been travelling over to the place every Thursday for five weeks now, and I think I'm beginning to be accepted by the locals and bar staff. The best thing for me is they sell packets of scampi fries, Mmmmmm. Anyway for now I'll continue to travel over once a week, as it's a nice place and I haven't been involved in a fight yet... 10/10

The pub is clean tidy and well kept,the staff are friendly.The Guinness is spot on.You can see the effort that has gone into making the outside of the pub look brilliant and welcoming. If you drive past you have missed out you will not be disappointed so look how nice the front of the pub is and call in for a pint and for the ladys a great choice of the latest Gins

A true 'local' pub that delivers as you would expect it to, the welcome is friendly from both the management and the disquisitive clientele, the food reasonably priced and the fire warm. The Red Bull has a lazy Sunday with the papers down to a tee.

We visited the pub for a meal with relatives who live nearby. The pub is very warm and welcoming and the staff behind the bar welcoming and friendly. It is our relatives local pub and I really wish we had a pub like this where we live. We are veggies and the options for a little pub nestled in a village were surprisingly good! The food is good wholesome food prepared with love! Good portion size, and delicious! I had a butternut squash lasagne and Bailey's cheesecake which was awesome! My partner had tortelloni which was delicious and we had chips; big and crispy and garlic bread which was crunchy and garlickly. We sat next to the Christmas tree by a roaring fire and the service was really fast and efficient.Would definitely recommend it if you are hungry and nearby. lovely place relaxed and good value for money.

Went today with a group for a Xmas meal..... was excellent. Hot and promptly served. The hosts were attentive and friendly, without being overbearing. Food was tasty and well cooked. Definitely worth a visit... highly recommended :-)

Visited this pub after a trip to delamere forest. Owners were super friendly and gave the whole pub a lovely atmosphere. Service was quick and food was good. Would visit again if I found myself in the area.

My adult son and I ate here recently. This pub is more of a local pub for the village whose inhabitants clearly met there regularly. The atmosphere was noisy and convivial- most people were (like me) later middle age. It seemed to us that this is more of a traditional drinking pub than a dining pub. It was for this reason that the atmosphere wasn't what we were expecting, and why it has got three stars - had we gone for a drink and to be a part of "the crowd" it would have had 5 stars. People were very pleasant, those running the bar were lovely and they welcome dogs which is fabulous. It was our first visit, and the atmosphere was not what we were looking for at the time - that's down to us, not the venue. All that being said, the food was lovely, we both had starters and a main course. It was all nicely presented and beautifully cooked. Portions were generous. This is definitely worth a visit whether for a drink or a meal - just expect there to be quite a bit of noise with chatter.

Lovely pub! Hosts Ciaran and Terry always have a smile and an engaging word or two to make you feel welcome and at ease! Had my first meal here recently and was not disappointed at all. I chose the spicy Thai fishcakes (cod and prawn), very tasty indeed! My dish was beautifully presented with an abundance of delicious fresh salad! A wonderful little pub in a sleepy village. Somewhere I wouldn’t usually go if I wasn’t from the area.. But the staff and food was amazing. Don’t be afraid of the ‘old mans village pub’ stereotype, it’s nothing like that when you step inside! We received a really warm welcome from the owners and staff, very friendly with actual interest in my friends and I which you don’t often get in a lot of places. The food was great and the menu had many options for me as a vegetarian - highly recommend and will definitely be back again.

Brilliant night out wounderfull food service great lovely relaxed pub diffently come again

Stopped nearby on the canal and went here for dinner and drinks, very pleasantly surprised with the high level of hospitality and helpfullness. Chef went out of his way to do an amazing vegan curry and the steaks were fantastic as well as portion sizes. Best value and quality we have had for a long time.

Went today for some food and it was the best thing I've eaten in ages. Defiantly better then The Fish Pool Inn. If your hungry and want some local grub defiantly go to The Red Bull, Situated in the hard of the beautiful cheesier countryside. Will bee sting you soon! Lovely staff behind the bar and the character of the traditional English pub with a modern twist looks lovely. Well done miles better then a few years ago, defiantly turned it around to be a happy, fresh, welcoming pub!

This pub has just got better and better, we had a great St Patricks evening there last week, with all the Irish music, and a great atmosphere. They new team of Ciaran and Terry continue to work on their initial success and I can see the pub going from strength to strength.

The Red Bull is my local which I've not used for the last 5 years or so but gave it a go as I knew it was under new managementI agree whole heartedly with other recent reviews that the atmosphere has been transformed in a really good way and the new management are to be really congratulated on this. You can tall they're really trying and the pub needs this. 10/10. Really wanted to be able to give it a thumbs upBUT - my beer was sour - Cheshire Cat, my favourite but couldnt finish the pint. Food is straight out off the freezer, into the fryer, wait 3 minutes, serve. There was no separate cook - the barman did it between serving behind the bar so you know its just "Farm Foods" or the catering equivalent. Perfectly edible but £20 for 2 main courses that would have cost me £3 at Iceland? Not for me again I'm afraid

Popped in for just a drink. Nice friendly welcome from Ciaran and Terry..both the guys have really transformed the atmosphere here. After only 3 months the place is now well on the way to being the proper Village Pub that's been so lacking in recent times. Plenty of people eating here too!

Since Ciaran & Terry have taken over this Pub it has been transformed back into a proper village pub with lots of great atmosphere. It is now a pleasure to go in and get a warm welcome. I hope the people of Kingsley support it and it continues to grow on it's initial success

This little pub really shouts out good old Britain pub. The Red Bull sits in a lovely little village not far from Delamere Forrest. The pub is very welcoming, warm and friendly. The open fire is always cracking away that adds to the lovely atmosphere. This pub doesn't need the big flashy features that are seen in the big new pubs. It quite simply a great pub with proper pub food and humorous landlords. Everyone is made welcome. Tonight I had their fish and chips, it was amazing.

What a lovely country pub with lovely welcoming hosts. Ciaran and Terry have only been here for a matter of weeks but what good changes they are making. There seems to be a large group of friendly locals that frequent this pub nightly. There is a lovely cosy real fire great for a cold winters day.Food was lovely wholesome basic pub food, great service and really reasonable prices.I would highly recommend the drive out here. We will certainly be returning

Have visited the pub a few times since the new owners have taken over and it is lovely and welcoming. The staff are friendly and hardworking. The glasses are super clean and the beer is really well kept. The pub is cosy with a roaring open fire and has a fabulous medieval table and chairs in one section. The food is really good too. As it stands I will be making this a regular visitor with the family.

I had a takeaway from the Red Bull last night what a fantastic dish well presented well packaged and the taste was excellent. The chips were golden and crisp and not soggy atall the fish was exactly the same and one of the nicest tasting fish I have had in a long while, so peps get down to the Bull and enjoy the food. ( I'd walk down or have a driver to hand because the beer is of the highest standards around so you will won't more than one) Ste b...

Called in for a couple of drinks with friends and had a bite to eat. The Red Bull is a nice traditional pub with friendly staff and is well priced.

Visited with 4 friends for a birthday meal. Massive medieval table reserved just for us! Good selection of real ales, wines and even Fevertree Tonic for the Gin! Food was good English pub grub. I believe there's new management recently taken over - you can see the improvements already!

Most pub simply want you're business, especially on a Sunday evening. The hosts Of The Red Bull however insist you have a warm, friendly and fun night first of all, before they expect you to spend your money with them. Honestly, I'm almost reluctant to praise this pub too highly because soon enough it'll be hard to get a tableGreat food, warm, cosy, real pub, with attention to detail whilst always maintaining a totally relaxed approach.Highly recommended. Now under new management, great place to chill at the end if the bar for a nice beer, good glass of wine or even the odd cocktail. Good Food back on the menu and a really chilled nice atmosphere, would highly recommend.

Celebrated a friend's birthday here. Received a warm welcome from the owners and they had reserved a large table for our meal. Service was friendly and both the drinks and food were good. Friendly locals and live entertainment made for an enjoyable evening. Will be returning soon.

I have always really liked this pub, but as it has been taken over I like the new little 'nips and tucks'! It is very welcoming and although not a 'restaurant' as such, has good 'pub food!' at reasonable prices..I always say if you want a restaurant, go to a restaurant with extortionate prices! This is just a great place for nice drinks and nice food at good prices!.. Most enjoyable!....

First time at the Red Bull in about 12 months. We were a party of 4, booked a table via Facebook. Well kept ales and really nice food at reasonable priced.

Lately the pub has been allowed to run down but under the new management, a huge improvement has taken place. There is reasonably priced pub food on offer and the beer is well kept. The place is now popular with locals and thanks to a roaring fire, is nice and warm. The new management has only been in harness for under a month but the changes are marked. It will be interesting to see how the garden evolves .. It has so much potential with a babbling brook and mature planting. In short, worth a visit.

I visited this pub recently with my fiancé and we had a Sunday roast each followed by a desert. The food was really tasty and the interior nice and cosy. It also has a local country pub feel which we really liked. We are bringing family here soon as we enjoyed it so much.

We had a couple of drinks here while staying locally. Quite a few friendly locals in about an hour before closing time. Friendly old fashioned pub with chatty Mine Hostess. Well kept beer. Clean toilets. Only doing bar snacks now

Had arranged to go out with my boyfriend and we decided to go here, thought the food was beautiful and real home made no frozen food like most places, will definately recommend coming here and a friendly atmosphere aswell

After reading such good reviews we were looking forward to a nice meal here. Left feeling let down and quite sickly. We both ordered garlic mushrooms. As they arrived I mentioned that they smelled cheesy, my husband was confused as to what I was going on about, upon tasting them something was off about them, aside from the mushrooms being rubbery in texture the sauce which was supposed to be creamy garlic was just rotten, almost like it was off or maybe there was some residue from the dishwasher in the bowl it was served in (not sure but it was inedible), all the while my husband was shovelling his down. I asked him to try mine, he took a mouthful and spat it out tasting the same thing I did. I tried his sauce and it was totally different. The main was burger and chips. The burger fell into a great load of ground up mince pieces as I cut into it, as if when prepared the chef had just squeezed a ball of mince into a burger shape and cooked it without anything in there to bind it together or add flavour. The chips could have been nice if they weren't majorly overcooked and charred and if they hadn't been cooked in oil that tasted like it should have been changed some time ago. We resented paying for such unpleasant food which (on my part) was hardly touched and I left feeling rather sick.

Been coming here for years, since new management took over, over two years ago, it's totally changed. Food is excellent with friendly, knowledgeable staff. There are lovely locally scoured guest ales. Which are changed frequently. Bar staff knew there beers. Well done Red Bull keep up the hard work!!!!
