It was unusually quiet and they no longer do bring your own drink, but the staff were still very friendly and welcoming and the food was tasty and plentiful. Never been...

Great people to dine with fantastic service beautiful delicious food and lovely deco thank you for every thing we shall be visiting you more often from now on.

The food was lovely, cooked to as spicy or as mild as we wanted, staff were friendly and were very attentive. Would 100% recommend this as an evening out, we had a lovely evening and we will definitely be back in the very near future.

So 28 of us were booked in for a suprise 60th party for my husband. It was perfect. They managed to provide superb food fresh hot and tasty. The family came from Manchester and were very impressed. The staff were patient with the rather excitable children but as we had the whole top floor it was fine. Thank you Rasoi

Last year (2018) as a family we decided to do something different for boxing day, so we went Rasoi. The food was excellant, the service was brillant, we had a 2 year old with us, and the staff couldn't do enough to entertain, feed her and keep her amused. We enjoyed it so much, we decided to do the same this year for boxing day (2019) and was even better, the food was brillant, the service was above and beyond, and again they kept the little one (now 3) amused. You can take your own beer, but they are now licensed, so you can by beer there. The only down side is that it's cash only, but a cash machince is available outside the local shop, or the petrol station across the road. Can not fault this restraurant.

We had a good meal. The greeting was warm & service friendly & quick. The restaurant has a modern decor & looks immaculately clean. Decent wine selection. Food was very good & pricing reasonable.

I have eaten twice in Rasoi in the last month - both times after a full day's hospital visiting in the Royal Infirmary more or less next door. On both occasions I was too tired to think about cooking and just wanted something tasty, quick and unfussy. Rasoi was perfect. The food was fresh, delicious, and had one or two neat little twists: I don't recall the names of the dishes, but when I see something on an Indian menu which is new, I try it, and the chicken starter and special curry mains I've had were both really, really good. I will be back as my stint hospital visiting is going to continue for a while, and eating here will be a definite pick-me-up after a long day! One small note - they take cash only. A bit unusual nowadays, but it's their way, and the flip side is that the prices are very reasonable for the food quality they serve.

We have visited here as a family and as a group of couples and have always have the same welcome and great food. Very reasonably priced. I believe you can bring your own booze but it is also licensed and drinks are reasonable so we dont usually bother.

Last week I booked a table for 7.30 for two 6/8 for my boyfriends birthday. We Have been a few times so were looking forward to it only to turn up to find it shut. The door sign mentioned by another review on here from April was still up saying it was open today and 6 days a week, which clearly isn’t the case. It is very frustrating that a booking was taken when it isn’t even open. We ended up going to chilli lounge instead which was really good food. We did really like it here but this this was put us off going or getting takeaway again there.

Never had a bad meal here, whether dining as a couple of part of a big group. Delicious veggie options, great staff.

Can say that been here for takeawY and sit in on verious ocasions and never faulted exsepitional food and stands friendly staff all ways😎😎😎

A wonderful place to visit, the staff are so polite & helpful, I think this is one of the best places I’ve visited in Yorkshire let alone Huddersfield, the food was superb & at a very reasonable price, if your reading this then do yourself a favour & give it a try you will not be disappointed.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tasty meal from start to finish - poppadoms, pickle tray, mixed starters and for me a chicken chilli & garlic balti. Food served quickly and by friendly staff - we will no doubt be back ☺

My wife and I walked to Rasoi on Tuesday evening (16/04/2019). The signage in the window states that the restaurant is open six days a week, Tuesday - Sunday, but it was closed. The misleading sign needs removing.

First visit with friends, to celebrate a birthday 15 of us and we were in the upstairs room

We booked to have a meal on saturday evening [our anniversary is monday]. We live quite close but have never been, So, its about time, we should have visited sooner with hindsight.

We came here at the end of November for my works xmas do. Having never been before, I always look forward to trying somewhere new. The curries really are excellent, and we were well looked after, with drinks being brought over whenever we needed more. Would definitely go again!

Excellent food, friendly staff and superb food, guaranteed to fill you up. The starters and mains are up there with the best and if you want anything special that’s not on the menu, the staff are more than willing to accommodate.

What a gem in a heart of Lindley in Huddersfield!!!

Visited last night with a friend, brilliant service and delicious food. We chose the deal for 2 which was fantastic value and a good range of choice. Looking forward to returning later this month.

We booked the upstairs room at no extra cost for our sons 21st and they set up with 2 long tables. It was private and we arranged a set price menu to keep the bill easy to sort. Fantastic night and amazing food!! The staff are so helpful and can adapt any dish and offer their expertise. Our favourite Indian restaurant and we always have delicious food and excellent service. Thank you for a great night!!

Had a meal with the family and several friends for my wifes birthday on 26th Aug.

So came today despite negative review and gosh was it good. Who knew we had the best curry resutraunt in Lindley !!! Faultless .

Another faultless meal and professional, friendly service. Would recommend the chicken tikka starter and a lamb based main is a must - keep up the good work!!!

Group of 10 of us went for 1st time last night. I'm only giving it a 1star review due to 2 of the garlic nans breads having mould spots. Didn't taste right as soon as bit into it and the others agreed. On inspection there was green dots of mould on the outer edge. Told the waiter who asked if we wanted another which I said no thanks. Instead he brought out 6 chapattis, said he had tasted it and was fine and the green spots were onion seeds . Hence to say we didn't agree. He discounted the nan from our bill but it was a set meal so didn't benefit anyway. Needless to say we won't be returning

We were Exploring different places to eat in Lindley , it was the aromas from the Resturant that lured us to this place .

Went to Rasoi with group of friends. Nice place, looks bigger due to placing of mirrors. Really helpful staff when choosing from menu. We all had the £10.95 menu with poppadums and pickle tray and starter and main couese. All food nicely presented and tasty. Took our own drinks and bottle openers were provided. Good night, nice food good atmosphere. Will be back soon.

Literally just got a takeaway curry from this place, we ordered a paneer curry which was tasteless and was a mush like texture the chicken kharai curry was very runny and I’ve had better supermarket curry’s. All the food was lukewarm the garlic Nan bread was doughy and thick around the edges the chapatti where the only good things but again cold. The place wasn’t even busy we normally go to Bengal Holmfirth for our curry’s won’t make this mistake again. menu thrown on fire!

We ate here on Thursday and the food was fantastic, the staff were brilliant and both the food and drinks were reasonably priced, you also have the option of taking your own drinks. We will definitely be recommending this to others and be visiting ourselves soon

Went with my family for my birthday treat. The food was good usual Indian cuisine. One good point was that you can take your own drinks but they do serve alcohol if you want to buy it there.

The team at Rasoi previously worked at Ronaq’s in Slaithwaite so we were keen to see what they would do on starting their new venture at Lindley. I firmly believe that any new restaurant needs time to find its feet and so, after a couple of false starts, gave them time to fine tune their operation because I believed they would succeed in time. I am glad I did! The lovely team of gentlemen running the restaurant have honed their skills to turn Rasoi into one of our favourite Indian restaurants ever. The welcome from the team, the genuine and kind nature of them all, the amazingly good food, make it a pleasure to come here. We find ourselves drawn more and more to the delicious food and the fact they are so near our home they have become like neighbours! Favourites are: the mixed starter to share and the chicken Karhai. Also the shami kebabs are to be highly recommended. We thank the team for looking after us and look forward to our next visit in a week! Nothing is too much trouble for our friends here and they will welcome you with open arms, just try it!

Been a couple of times and had takeaways as well and always amazing frrod and brilliant service. No wonder its always so busy as its the best asian food for miles around.

Unfortunately I made the mistake of initially avoiding this restaurant as it had changed names a number of times over a short period. I decided to give Rasoi a try and I have never looked back. I now order all my curry take always from here and have eaten in the restaurant a number of times. The food and services is top class and it's very reasonably priced. Don't make my mistake and miss out on this. Varied menu but I keep ordering the chicken tikka starter and mixed balti as a main!!

We only discovered Rasoi as we couldn’t get booked into our usual Indian restaurant. My wife suggested going here as it’s very local, about a mile from home. Very friendly greeting when we arrived and shown straight to a table. Beautiful surroundings and very tastefully decorated. The staff were very helpful explaining the dishes on the menu and making their own recommendations. The food was very tasty and served quickly with the brothers acting as waiters. The only downside was that we had to take our own drinks but we can live with that. One good recommendation was that some Asian people came into eat. If it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me. Would we go back ? We already have been back and will be going again

I have had a few takeaways from here now and it is the best in the area (marsh/lindley/salendine nook). The food is extremely tasty, always piping hot and of a restaurant style standard. Great prices, big portions! Will be back... maybe to eat in

This is our local Indian but first chance to visit. I wish I'd done so sooner. Great service, you can bring you own wine or buy in. The midweek set menu at 10.95 is a bargain. I had keema samosas which came three on a plate and were quality. Missus ordered chicken rolls which had a good kick to them. We ordered the chicken makhani and keema and potato karahi with lemon rice and tandoori naan as sundries. All were cooked to order and exceptional. Think it'll be a regular visit. Great food!

What a lovely experience the 3 brothers who own the restaurant were Very welcoming and friendly. The food was really great the lamb chops and fish masala for starters were exceptional, the chicken karhi was really tasty all the food was to a very high standard.

There were about 25 ladies on hen do we were seated upstairs and had a set menu starter ,main and sides for £13 the place us really great staff very helpful

Arrived at Rasoi 25th Aug. Was greeted professionally, seated and given an option to move tables if I chose.

We used to frequent this restaurant when it was Hussains and it was very good ,however after the take over I believe the food is even better ,they will cook the food as you ask and the staff cannot do enough, they also have an early bird menu which is very reasonable.

Been here several times and seriously have nothing negative to say about it. It's the first time we have been and taken our own drinks which we prefer. We took the risk and didn't book and were greeted by the lovely staff. Within the hour the whole downstairs was full and it was obvious that Rasoi was a popular choice.

Six of us ate one evening at 8:30 and we were greeted by the host with a friendly smile. The girls weren't sure which wine to have so he kindly let them try two or three so they could choose by taste. Nice touch.

This place is amazing the food is honestly the nicest quality tasting curry That we've tried. Especially the lamb which I'm quite fussy about. It's just so tender & cooked superbly. The staff are very helpful & attentive & will always do anything to try help by way of recommendations & getting anything extra needed. Nothing is too much trouble. All my family love going here especially my kids & the takeaway menu is just as good & always fresh & warm. They offer an excellent value set meal offer Sunday -Thursdays & set take out menu too at very reasonable price. I seriously Can not recommend this place enough. Plus there's the added bonus of now being able to take your own alcohol too which I find a massive plus. They do have a limited bar if needed though.

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was lovely, We had the set menu of 10.95 a head which was very good value. The option of being able to take your own drinks made the evening much more affordable too.

Visited early Sunday night having had two takeaways before which we really liked the standard of the food. This time was equally as good. We had the Sun-Thurs offer. Poppadoms and pickle tray, nice to have a different tomato pickle instead of the usual onion & tomato. My Lamb Rogan Josh was so tender the best lamb curry ever. Lemon rice to accompany it was refreshing. It is very modern decorations tiled floors & gold wallpaper which makes a change from the usual red for most Indian Restaurants. Staff polite and checked back to see if we were happy with our meals. Do visit this gem near to the hospital.

After being let down from another local restaurant the weekend before Valentines, we decided to give Rasoi a try as we both like Indian/spicy food.

Visited on Friday for my daughter's birthday. Went very early evening because 2 children were with us and it was fairly quiet . We had the poppudums and pickle tray whilst choosing our dishes. The mango chutney and red onion relish were particularly good. Our starters were all gorgeous and served with fresh crisp salad. Our mains were all fantastic. I had a lamb dish and it was so tender - melt in your mouth. If you're going to have rice , try the jeera rice , just wow!

Excellent food , really informative and friendly staff , keen to advise on menu choices. Very good drinks menu and also desserts and coffees.Will re visit again and pleased to recommend to anyone.

We visited as a party of 7 for a friends birthday. As it was a Sunday night we all opted for the value menu which is popadoms, any starter, any main and any sundry for £10.95. All our meals were delicious, staff were efficient and friendly. Only downside was we were sat adjacent to the stairs and it was a bit chilly - wouldn't put me off going again -

I went to Rasoi with my other half and friends. The place looks fantastic and clean, we were welcomed and seated upstairs. The waiter was very helpful whilst ordering and explained everything clearly ensuring we ordered the correct dish, he was on the mark with all his recommendations! We ordered a mix starter - which tasted great. I had a Lamb Kharai with a garlic nan and finished all of it - it was beautiful. The others enjoyed their food throughly as well. The waiter recommend an Indian beer Bhangla which I've never had before but was very good.The service was quick and the staff were very friendly and attentive, they made sure we enjoyed our experience and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would definitely return and recommend this place to my family and friends. The price of food and beverage is very reasonable. Keep the good work up.

So we came here Friday for our works Christmas do, we had a fantastic time. Really nice welcoming friendly staff, very clean place and most importantly the food was AMAZING! Will definitely go again :)

We visited last night for a meal. We took advantage of the Sun-Thurs offer and were really impressed. The portion sizes were great and the food was really tasty. The peshwari naan was one of the best I've ever had!

Lucky Lindley. Maintaining the tradition of the last owners, but a very different menu, this is better than any of the Indian restaurants in the town centre and definitely worth walking up from there if you don't happen to live in Lindley. Our lamb chops were lovely and tender. The rice portions are just right for one but not enough to share. The 4 of us had poppadoms, starters and mains and thought that £70 including drinks was very good value.

We dine there on a regular basis and the food never disappoints . I had the vegetable bhaji followed by a chicken kharai with extra sauce and extra garlic ! They will cook to your desires.Mmmmmmm.

Never had a cause for any complaint at Rasoi. Great, friendly service and food served at exactly the spice / heat level requested. Highly recommend. Love it.

Tried the tandoori main meals as a takeaway for £9.95 Compared to the Aagrah at the same price... NO COMPETITION WHATSOEVER

We have visited Rasoi two or three times since it opened and had takeaway about the same amount. We have never had anything other than an overwhelmingly positive experience, and we say this as people who were disappointed to see the back of its former guise, Hussain's.

Most of the dishes may be unfamiliar to people used to traditional "Indian" restaurants - but the main course and dessert which I had were very good indeed. The service was good and the bill affordable. Very handy for Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

Having been a bit disorganised, my partner and I found we couldn't get a reservation at our first and second choice restaurants so decided to try this place which is a short walk from where I live.

Four of us ate at Rasoi on a Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed the food and the experience.

Ok- some constructive criticism for the business owners.

4 people on a Friday evening. Food was average nearly bland. We hardly drank anything, final bill was nearly 50% than expected. Wont be returning.

My husband and I visited Rasoi for an early dinner. It was quiet when we arrived but soon began to fill up. We couldn't fault our experience. We ate like kings, everything was delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. I am coeliac and staff were able to advise me on what I could and couldn't eat. Is tomorrow too early to visit again?

No complaints here, the food and service was all great. It was a Tuesday evening and empty apart fom a table of 8 people. The portions were good, I ate all the food, which meant it was very tasty and just about the right amount for one.

It was the first visit would definitely visit again. I had the keema with potatoes and peas and it was the best dish I've had for a long time. The serving staff were all very polite. The refurbishment is a credit to the owners.

First visit to Rasoi since it changed from Hussain's amazing transformation place looks stunning, we were not dissapointed from the starters/mains/sides everything was excellent.

Well we visited here on a quite Tuesday night as there was only ourselves and another table in although a steady flow of take out orders were being collected.

First time visit since New owners have taken over, Firstly when we arrived we were greated by friendly, helpful staff. Once seated we were presented with the menu and the staff member took our drinks order and returned quickly with our drinks. We ordered chicken pakoras and lamb chops to start with and they were cooked perfectly. For mains we had Chicken Kharai and king prawn balti with garlic naans. The chicken was beautifully cooked lovely and tender and perfectly spiced. The king prawns were also very nice with spices that blended excellently. Overall we were extremely impressed and will most definitely be returning again.

From start to finish. Everything was spot on. Service, food and price. Was reccommended highly to try it from a friend. So glad i did. Bonus that they are licenced to sell drinks. Keep the good work up

This is the first time we have visited since it changed hands so we were really hoping the food would be good.

From the minute we walked in we were greeted with friendly smiles and a relaxed atmosphere. I had lamb chops for starters and i can honestly say they were the most beautiful lamb chops ive ever tasted! For my main i had the chicken khari which was so flavoursome i had a medium which had a nice heat to it too. I will be definatly returning and telling all my friends about you! To anybody thats going the pink prosecco is a must too. So THANKYOU Rasoi for a lovely experience you made my birthday.

Mixed starter was nice, the curry I ordered, chicken paneer saag, was not however. The chicken was dry, the sauce bland. I can't comment on the paneer because there wasn't one piece in it. Nobody came to ask if everything was ok with the meal at the time and I didn't want to make a fuss. When we went to pay the bill I did mention that I hadn't enjoyed the meal and the missing paneer. I didn't get so much as an apology and he was quite happy to take the money for the full amount. No way is that curry worth nine quid even if it had all the main ingredients in it. Will not return. Ever.

The title should summed up our experience at this place after we enjoyed dinner with friends to celebrate a year ending party. Portion sizes are good and the service is fairly quick with attentive staff. Felt a bit congested as we sat in a corner, but the ambience is nice and did not feel too crowded.

2nd visit in 10 days, that should say it all!

Just had a takeaway, our first visit since the place changed hands, and I was greeted by very friendly staff when I went to pick up. My food was ready and still piping hot when I got it home. Our sundries were all great but we were slightly disappointed with our mains. We ordered an achari and a bhuna. Both were jam packed with good quality, melt in the mouth lamb but the sauces, which were quite similar in taste and appearance, didn't boast the complex flavours we've had elsewhere. Overall good and I'd give it another go.

We had a lovely meal with old friends at Rasoi! Can't recommend it enough!

Returning to Huddersfield after years away we arranged a meet with friends.

We'd heard this had changed hands late last year and that people we know had said the food and service had been very poor since. But we'd always had fantastic food when this was Hussains and wanted to give it a try for ourselves. Sadly the word on the street was right - this was one of the worst takeaways I've ever had. Chicken was that awful rubbery pinky stuff that you expect from cheap burger / pizza/ kebab type takeaways. The sauce tasted nothing like it should. Even the nan bread was old and rubbery in texture. I'm really sorry but my long looked forward to Saturday night curry was a huge disappointment and we sadly now don't have a local curry house we can enjoy. We won't be going here again.

Oh dear why did Hussain's shut? Rasoi doesn't come close to being a good substitute. Stock pot curries and what looked and treated suspiciously like ready made frozen samosas that I can buy in bags of 50 from Khadims do not warrant the prices they're charging. My wife and I agreed they were 'ok Bradford curries' where it's formica tables and bring your own beer and half the price. Not bad, but not good.

Superb new interior, very friendly staff,prompt service but best of all the food is just delicious.

Rasoi is a brand new restaurant , it has that WOW factor from the moment we entered, its one of the nicest interiors that I have been in for a long time. We were warmly greeted by charming brothers in this family run restaurant.
