After a walk along the coast path, this was the perfect place to stop for food. Good atmosphere, lovely staff, proper beer and a splendid meal of homemade pie and chips made an excellent end to the day. Recommended!

Awful experience here, they got our food order wrong and took a long time to bring the replacement meal out, by which time everyone else had ‘finished’, I say finished but nobody ate everything and the final meal had chicken that was raw inside. I wasn’t happy with the servers response when I politely brought this to her attention. So I asked to speak to a manager, a lady came to talk to me with quite an aggressive stance, she said she was the owner and after a minute talking to her I realised she had been drinking, I think if you’re a bit tipsy it would have been better to let a supervisor deal with me, we achieved nothing and that interaction only made our experience worse.

What a pleasure it is to visit this pub again and have a lovely breakfast bap and coffee then later on a delightful lunch. I am surprised that people have not thought this great value for money on previous reviews as all the produce comes from a local butcher, bakeries and greengrocers. I would highly recommend the staff and owners are warm and welcoming to all.

Very bad food here such a shame as throughout our trip to Cornwall food had been excellent. I don't think this is the sort of place you go for food, maybe just food for the drinkers. It is not welcoming of holiday makers, we are treated differently to the local people. Was offered a bribe to leave a positive review on here which is what prompted us to leave an accurate on. Also this place is not clean.

This is an amazing spot for some lunch, right on the beach with some stunning views. We went in with our dog for a spot of lunch. The staff were very friendly and the service was prompt. We ordered sandwiches and they were huge. It was a very good experience. The only thing that could have made it slightly better was a bigger table. It was a bit of a squash.

Was staying locally and recommended The Rashleigh for its great views and beach. Must admit they beach and views are stunning. Pub has plenty of outside space overlooking the beach but it isn't very comfertable and looks a bit 'low rent'. The pub itself inside is a bit tired and tatty even taking into consideration the building age. Gave it a poor (2 stars) mostly because of the prices and selection. The food is very run of the mill what you'd expect pub food from an establishment that isn't paticularly food led, however the prices are more exspensive than good restaurants I know. Beer selection is poor unless you like 'quirky' beers and small wine selection, my Rose was OK but not cold enough and £25+ for a bottle that would be about a fiver in Lidl which for me brought it down to a 2. Service was friendly enough although not paticularly professional, all a bit too casual and not quick enough. Shame they haven't made more of the place given the location and views but I suppose when you're in a tourist hotspot with new visiters every week/year you don't need people to come back, and those that do put up with the prices and mediocrity for the views and beach.

We had a lovely evening for Easter evening meal in Rashleigh Inn. The start wasn’t great as we booked the meal for 9 few days in advance and we meant to be the last table to serve food for. However, when we arrived, the owner has misplaced the booking and the kitchen were closing down already. However, they have decided to accommodate us and stopped the kitchen to cook the meals for us which was really kind of them. Both of the owners were really friendly, polite and helpful and provided a great service and even discounted drinks for all because of confusion and the mistake on their behalf. Which was really kind! The food was nice, especially fish and chips - big portions. Seafood pasta was ok, as pasta was a bit overcooked and it lacked the flavour. So was a bit overpriced for what it was, in my opinion. But the atmosphere was great and we all were happy at the end ☺️ Thanks for accommodating us!

Cheap, underwhelming food served with no care. I've had better fish and chips at Par Market and the strange burrito seemed to be made of leftovers with a few woody little nuggets of chicken. Service was lack-lustre to the point of rudeness, the focus of staff and their various hangers on was on a toddler who seemed to be totally in charge. As customers, we felt like an inconveinence and that we had intruded on a private gathering. Such a shame, location is spot on, it could be a great pub, but the owners really need to up their game as far as service and quality of food is concerned. Also, maybe rethink the gigantic holes in the tables... It's lovely to use reclaimed materials but not when the holes are big enough for a pint glass to fall through!

We visited one of our local beaches with our dog on a sunny Sunday morning. We decided to pop in for a coffee and a browse through the menu. Unfortunately we were greeted by a man with limited vocabulary! He thought it was acceptable to swear at his colleagues in front of customers. Whilst drinking our barely warm coffee an elderly couple walked in and he continued with his foul language! We won’t be back!

Straight away we were welcomed with ‘we nearly gave your table away you’re that late’ bearing in mind we arrived on time, so instantly off to a bad start. Then being squished onto a table of 4 having booked for 5. The food was average at best. The waitress then proceeded to be rude throughout bringing the wrong food out, making out like we ordered something we didn’t. With being cramped onto a table we decided once we’d eaten we would promptly leave. In doing so we tried to pay our bill at the bar, and was yet again greeted by the rude waitress who caused an issue with us trying to split the bill and stormed off and someone else apologised and dealt with the bill. Overall, nice location, terrible service, average overcooked food. Will not be visiting again.

Perfect character inn on the beach at Polkerris complete with log fire, charming decor and doorstep sarnies worth walking the cliff path from Par Sands for. Lovely thick granary bread stuffed with the filling of your choice and served with a handful of crisps and a side salad. Thanks to barman Tommy for being so hospitable and making me feel welcome and at ease. Equally great was a previous Sunday roast vegan nutloaf experience served outside with spectacular views and a plateful of grub to be grateful for.

We had Sunday lunch here last Sunday. We hadn't booked a table as we were out sightseeing whilst in Cornwall. They were fully booked which is a very good sign of how popular they are but could give us a table for an hour and a half till the 2.00 booking for that table. We really appreciated this and were so impressed with our Roast Beefs lots of fresh veg, cauliflower cheese, all piping hot. hubby had the sticky toffee pudding for afters which was so soft with lashings of sauce and icecream. The pub has real character, great views and most of all a lovely warm welcome. Its very dog friendly too.

Start with the good points. Historic Inn with fantastic views, and has always been great in the past. But, things have changed and not for the good. Selection of beers all none branded, I actually get that, bespoke range something not many others do but do wonder why. I’m still on the fence with that one. Menu, yes limited, but where is the fresh fish ?? Specials, we went on a Monday so all the specials were left over Sundays Roast made into other dishes, cutting cost wastage etc I got to accept that but if the roast was that good maybe we could have some more inspiring specials instead. Now the real bad points, the food we had. Chicken thigh burger, omg 3 hours later I still have an overwhelming taste of cinnamon and grease. Hard to believe as I scrapped off whatever coating was on the chicken and still didn’t eat it all. Chicken and Mushroom pie. Big plate of prison slop covered in mash. Again didn’t finish the dish. I couldn’t see any chicken, maybe it was hiding under the mash my wife didn’t eat. All in all awful, no check backs couldn’t careless when they collected the almost full plates so we paid and left. Such a shame as it’s been brilliant on so many occasions in the past.

We had lunch here yesterday with our 2 children and 2 rather excitable dogs. We could not have been looked after more. I had reserved a table which was a good thing otherwise we wouldn’t have been fed as they were so busy. We sat outside for drinks beforehand enjoying some autumn sunshine and views of the sea. We had one fish and chips which my daughter loved. The chips were particularly crispy and went down well. Very generous portion of fish. My other daughter had nut roast with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pud and loads of veg. Husband had the roast beef with all the trimmings and as a gluten free vegetarian I had all the veg with additional roast squash. It was all delicious. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable re what was and wasn’t GF and I was very impressed. Despite the large portions we all managed a pud! We all had something different and they were all delicious. Highly recommend the brownies. All in all a very good lunch. Thanks for looking after us.

Wish we had read some of these reviews before visiting. A very unsatisfactory experience. Looking forward to a late lunch after a great walk. Ordered food & drinks & sat outside to enjoy the lovely location. Not sure how long it takes to prepare 3 toasted sandwiches from the specials menu & a couple of sides. But we left after an hour hungry & very disappointed as no food arrived & plans for the rest of the afternoon were messed up. When we enquired a few times we were told it was 5 mins away but that was pure fiction as it appears there was no bread...a lunch service with no bread or even back up frozen supplies is pretty ridiculous! Such a shame to not be living up to the setting.

Staying in the area for a week we visited a couple of times. Location is great with amazing views. Service and food was very different from one visit to the next. We had to order at the bar which was busy and slow. No tabs or table service ie the Wetherspoons way didn't work here with such a small bar area. The menu is quiet limited, on the first visit we had good fish and chips and a beautiful crab salad which were really quiet good although a little slow to come out. On the second visit My partner had a sandwich which was fine and because I'd enjoyed it so much I ordered the crab salad again. On this occasion the service was faster, although it was quieter but the food however wasn't presented as welland the crab salad a completely different dish, not well presented like the first visit in fact looked like it had been tipped onto the plate and instead of the beautiful fresh white crab it had a sloppy crab mayo mix in a couple of big dollops.

We went on the recommendation of friends who had been here a couple of years ago and loved the seafood. We both love fish & seafood, and a 16th century pub on a beach overlooking the sea in Cornwall, what a suburb place to have a fantastic evening meal - that was the expectation. Unfortunately the reality was so very different. The location is outstanding, and the sunset was beautiful. The building and the pub are suburb if a little tired (why have carpets in a beachside pub?) The beer and wine was very good. The bar staff were excellent, good service and friendly. The food, that was on the menu and what we ordered was good and IMO not badly priced. So why the two stars? Deep fried whitebait, frozen calamari, fish and chips!!!!!!! this is a pub on the beach next to the sea! Oh sorry, I forgot mussels, the same mussels which every pub/restaurant in and around Fowey sells. We had cheeseburger and chips and chicken burger and chips, it was good but whoopee! I expected fish or seafood maybe even a steak! The waiting on staff, have they ever been trained. Clearing plates before we had finished eating, and tutting when we said we hadn't finished. I know it's not fine dining, but surely they should be trained and have manners. The pub allows smoking on the outside tables. The smoke and smell drifts inside so if you don't like to eat your meal with the smell of 2nd hand smoke, well that's tough, because that's what you will have to put up with. I was very much looking forward to our evening at the Rashleigh but I was so disappointed. I can't recommend going here for an evening meal, a couple of drinks and a lunch/snack yes, but don't expect too much. It's now just a pub selling everyday pub food.

Amazing atmosphere and beers. We walked along the south west coast and ended at Polkerris. The pub does great food but the beer is outstanding. You must visit.

We had 2x fish and chips - amazing quality cod, really tasty, kids had pasta and sausage & chips, which they enjoyed. Puddings were tasty. Great atmosphere, staff were friendly, lovely views and nice walk on the beach afterwards. Dog friendly, free parking for customers....

We stopped for an ice cream while on the search for our car keys which we lost on the beach!! 🤦🏽♀️ The rum and raisin ice cream was AMAZING and no complaints from the kids and hubby with their choices! The lovely gent who served us got his wife Zara to help us with locating the keys which luckily where found and left at the RLNI across but was closed, she managed to find someone who got the keys So thank you so much for your help lovely people and for the ice creams! 🥰 wishing you all the best x

Been coming here for many years, it is an absolute joy every time we come for a meal. Today me and my mother came for afternoon tea and everything was delicious and delectable, as it always is. The service is absolutely flawless, all the staff are exceptional and extremely welcoming, especially the manager. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a perfect meal out.

Beautiful building. Amanda the barmaid/waitress was very helpful and friendly. My family had the ham egg and chips, which was outstanding. I had fish and chips, the fish was delicious and fresh. The puddings were sinful and beautifully made.

I will start by saying the restaurant did reduce our bill and throw in a few free extras but we were very surprised by the quality and portioning of the food. At the time the cafe was very quiet but the staff seemed a little bit chaotic. Orders not being put through properly, items missed off and not knowing what beer they had available. A couple of us ordered the chicken burger (£13) and my son had the kids version (£8.50) but his came with chips. I was pretty shocked when we both received exactly the same sized portion. A small bun, 1/2 a small chicken fillet and one piece of lettuce, not exactly worth £13. The staff did even comment that they there was an issue but still felt it was fine to serve and just expect people to pay. The pizzas were but ok but again surprised when we we charged £3 for 2-3 sliced olives as an extra. We've eaten at many other places up and down the coast and based on our experience we would not return.
