My wife and I popped in here for a quick bite to eat. We were warmly welcomed, we can only assume, by the owner who was doing the cooking and we took our seats. We ordered ham omelette with chips & beans plus tuna mayo baguette & chips with 2 decaffeinated teas. The food arrived swiftly with some complimentary turkish salsa and was all very nice with absolutely no complaints. To top it all the prices are so reasonable coming to just £15. Do not be put off by the outside appearance as once inside the family friendly atmosphere and service plus lovely food will assure you that you will be back again. Thank you for a lovely lunch, we will be back again

Went here for a quick bite to eat on a quiet Thursday lunchtime. My son had breakfast No1 (which he wolfed down) and I had the Mediterranean breakfast with olives and Turkish sausage which was great. Visited for Brunch at midday on Saturday. Nice busy atmosphere but plenty of tables available. Order for 2 breakfasts taken quickly by pleasant waitress and drinks arrived within 5 mins. But meals took another 25 mins to arrive…. Good plates of breakfast but couldn’t understand why so slow with 3 staff in the cooking area? Disappointed when surely only the fried eggs needed cooking from scratch. 🙁

Surprisingly having spent a number of my formative years in Strood, I have never ever eaten here. Its always been Ramos and even now walking in there, the decor and furniture is still the same. Excellent table service time from entering to hot drink in my hand (breakfast), you might feel rushed but for me its perfect as I want to order and eat, the reason I'm there us because I'm Hungry. I went for the mega breakfast but was tempted by the medditeran breakfast which I saw other people have (will be back another time). So breakfast order turned up, well cooked along with a salsa, novel I thought. Wow, certainly lifted my breakfast and put me to shame for asking for the brown sauce. Highly recommend this place as well as supporting a family owned business that despite the number of shops closing in strood continues to run and operate through the years, let's keep it going!!

Short stop in Strood needing coffee, was in the High Street and noticed Ramos thought looks good. Quite busy sat at a table as it was table service and saw the quality of breakfasts being delivered to tables near me so when the waitress came I thought scrambled egg, toast, sausage and latte. After a little wait latte arrived soon followed the eggs etc and a pot of free Turkish Salsa/relish. Hot fresh and tasty and the homemade relish was great nice bit of heat. Will definitely be back with family to try the main dishes.

We popped in here for breakfast. I had a small one which I couldn’t eat as there was so much! Cooked brilliantly and good quality products. Portion sizes are generous! Very clean and friendly staff. If there was a down side it was that we felt a little rushed. No sooner had I finished eating than the lady was there asking if we had finished and could she take our plates. My husband was still eating at this point! It wasn’t a busy period and there was plenty of empty seating available. All in all a good experience.

This is one of those places that I have driven by so many times. At a quick glance you easily dismiss it as just another high street greasy spoon.Sure enough, you can still get a wide variation of the classic English breakfast and other Western meals. For those willing to delve a little deeper into the menu you find the delights of Mediterranean breakfasts and kebabs. But don't dismiss these kebabs as the common takeaway ones you normally get.A Turkish favourite of mine is menemen and it has been a while since I have made it or found somewhere that cooked it. So I was so happy to see two versions on the menu here, and even more happy because it tasted so great. Not only is the food lovely, so is the reception and service from the staff.

Warm continental welcome, great coffee, studied menu god prices for basic brit grub but also a range of Turkish specialities, eg full meze for £9 enough for two. I suggest you ask the boss before ordering as it may be better to give him some notice so he can give his best.Lovely tropical atrium outside with patio tables. Has a car park at back but ask boss how to reach it (thru Aldi car park?)You will be impressed, closes at 5pm

We had three plates of hummus, courgette and stuffed Vine leaves - £2.50 each! Freshly made, the stuffed vine leaves were warm and delicious. Arrived about 17.30, sat down at a convenient table, no other diners in but we were early. After about 5 mins a guy who seemed friendly enough (but we thought might have had a drink or two) came to collect our order, had some difficulty with it as after a couple of minutes he came back and said that they were out of one of the starters.. We reordered, a couple of minutes later he returned with a small complimentary pre starter which was quite pleasant. The starter arrived which was one of those share platters which was disappointing but didn't complain because we thought it might be more not to our taste than not pleasant.. The main meal though was terrible. My wife had salmon with new boiled pots and veg while I had sardines with the same pots and veg. The salmon hadn't even been cooked enough to warm the middle, we pointed this out to the chef who duly took it off the plate and returned it 2 minutes later steaming hot (microwaved?) My sardines (3 when it stated 5 on the menu) which again weren't cooked enough to even be able to separate from the bone. The potatoes were probably the worst I have ever been served up, rubbery on the outside and hard and uncooked in the middle.. We decide to leave, our plates were still full but we weren't asked if there had been anything wrong.. I paid the bill and left. Going by other reviews it seems to be a good place for breakfast, but I would certainly never go back in there for an evening meal

My wife went for lunch here today and she was at first pleased to see on the menu a Home Made Lasagne, but when it was brought out, it was swimming in water and frozen in the middle. When she complained, she was told 'these things happen'. She was shocked that all they wanted to do was put this frozen disaster back in the microwave and amazingly, they made no offer of a different meal. My wife would not ever eat here again and she is saddened to see how it has gone down hill, since her last visit.

The cafe has lots of light and an outside area that is quite nice . It appears clean and is not cluttered or cramped . the staff are quite young but polite, clean and uniformed. The food seems better than average for a cafe . Good portions, well cooked and tastey . Drinks are very average at best ... milk shakes have no thickness to them, not chilled and full of bubbles . Tea is ok . Coffee I had high hopes for as they have a proper coffee machine but unfortunately the beans are of poor quality and lack in taste, plus they don't understand that milk needs to be steamed to around 65°c in order for it to thicken and sweeten. so what you get is a bland, bitter and watery coffee.(such a shame as they have all the equipment to make a truly great cup of coffee) Sadly in spite of a decent meal I had to fight off a squadron of flies while eating and that unfortunately spoiled my dining experience and also brings into question the cleanliness of the cafe or its surroundings. I would gladly return for a meal in the colder months but all things considered I can only give it 3 stars . 4 for food . 3 for drinks . 2 for fly infestation . With some small improvements this could easily get 4 or 5 stars.

If you are looking for a fry up and a chair and a table - then this is possibly the place for you.Based right in the heart of the bustling Strood town centre the scenery is classic and the people are perfect. The ambience of Ramos is "relaxed" and the dress code is "informal" however if you went with a suit on they would still accept your custom. The food is of excellent quality with no sign of any Ebola - eggs were cooked to perfection (still perfect for chip dipping) the bacon was good, the sausage was adequate, the hash browns were yum and the coffee was distinctly average... The price was competitive and the service was adequate.Overall it is what it says on the tin, and I don't hesitate to recommend this establishment if you are looking for a greasy spoon - but if you are looking for a fine dining experience or some Michelin stars this is probably not the place for you.Andy

We've gone in for breakfast at the weekend a few times, and can highly recommend the breakfasts and salads. My partner always orders the chicken salad which comes loaded with freshly grilled chicken and a dressing of your choice. I usually get a full english, but have also tried the 'mediterranean breakfast' with halloumi and turkish sausage which was lovely. They give you nice fresh bread or toast with it. Coffee is also good for Strood with lattes etc. OK a lot of the fare is fried bacon, sausage, and the usual greasy spoon items, the way they serve it makes it a nice place to go for a weekend brunch. Friendly service, nice people, waitress remembered what we had even though we're not that frequent visitors. Also, it looks a lot nicer from the inside than it does from the outside :-)

I had previously dropped in here before for breakfast which was adequate my wife swears by this place and is especially fond of the liver dish that they do. We stopped in recently for lunch my wife ordered her usual liver and I just fancying a snack ordered a quarter pounder and fries the waitress asked if I would like cheese and lettuce with onion, on top of which I asked for burger sauce. My wife's arrived and although not a fan of liver personally I must say it did look quite nice. Although only having a burger I was expecting something quite appetising. When mine arrived I lifted the lid of my bun to find some rather dried up shredded cabbage and half a sprout which I think was pickled. I was disappointed to say the least. The place was empty at the time so no excuse there. I wasn't in the best of moods before hand and when my wife saw my face like thunder proceeded to go on the offensive about how moany I was. I have had some weird toppings on burgers being a regular visitor to the states but never a pickled sprout and felt my complaint justified I should have given them the chance to rectify it but rather than aggravate the situation I got up and left leaving my wife to finish her lunch alone. (She never spoke to me for 2 days)

Two of my good friends where visiting from Wiltshire and we chose the Boathouse. Just to make sure, I called them to check it was fine to have my Therapy Assistance with us and I was told this was fine and I booked a table for 3 a 2 p.m. When we arrived we were asked to sit in side booths rather than the restaurant. It was 30 minutes before our orders were taken and whilst my friends food came out correctly, my order was incorrect. Because of the time it took to actually order and receive our food, I chose not to say anything. It's clearly a very popular place to eat, but we were put in a corner, almost out of the way, which is exactly what I'd hope we'd avoid with my Therapy Assistance dog and bearing in mind my friends needed to travel back to Wiltshire, the timings were too long. The young lady who served drinks was brilliant though and she served the best gin and tonic with appropriate fruits added but ensuring beforehand I had no fruit allergies. I doubt I'd go back again, but I'm glad it's thriving given the current economic climate!
