I ordered a lot of food to have as a takeaway (during lockdown two) and I am so impressed by the quality, taste, how hot the food was when I brought it home and that packaging. Absolutely delicious, great value for money, my family and I loved it and can’t wait to order again!

A great and friendly pub with a welcoming atmosphere. I always feel pleased to be here. The drinks are always well served and the food here is simple and well prepared.

Very rude, don’t recommend anyone to go there. Felt attacked by the landlady, as apparently we didn’t spend enough money while participating in a pub quiz. Such a shame that it has ruined an otherwise good night out for us.

We have been coming to the pub quiz on a Wednesday frequently. Paying £1 to enter each and all buying a drink, spending around £20. This might not seem a lot, but for struggling university students it is vital food money. On this occasion a couple of us did not buy alcoholic drinks because we are trying to save money. We came second to last place (which is where we ususlaly place) we never come to win the money , we come to enjoy the quiz and have fun. The owner confronted us and said we did not spend enough, if we expect to win £20 we should spend more. I understand the pub needs people to buy drinks , but to be confronted rudely after spending a substantial amount of money here since September was extreme upsetting. Especially as we have only ever won twice before , which was with larger groups who probably spent more money on drinks than we won back. It’s extrmely upsetting as we outslelves have little money , and enjoy coming here on a Wednesday. I have also personally recommended people to play the quiz before . This experience had truly made me feel attacked and unwelcome, just because this time we did not spend tones of money. We paid money to enter the quiz , and each paid for a drink and my friends even ordered two soft drinks and a packet of crips. Previous wednesdays we have spent more, but this evening as we have essays to write, we did not want to drink alcohol. This has truly tainted my experiences at this pub. Is it not better to have a group of customers spending money on one drink each, rather than them never returning or buying drinks here again. If this issue was presented to us politely , then this would not be problem. However, when she confronted us it was rude and intimidating, my friend repeated what she said to clarify as we were slightly shocked , the landlady than raised her voice. It was starting to cause a scene which was embarrassing and unessary so we just told her politely “thank you for informing us” and left. This is extremely shocking as clearly they had been counting are drinks. We were only there for two hours and between four of us we had six drinks and we paid to play the quiz. We will not be returning again.

A proper good old British boozer, serving home made food and good beer. Well priced, friendly service and not a Jus or Balsamic reduction in sight, recommended.

It's not often I do a review as I'm eating or actually in the premises but the Sunday lunch I've just been served deserves to be recognised as one of the best Sunday roast dinners I've had in a long while and possibly the best ever including my mothers,The beef and I mean slabs of beef on my plate were tasty and moist that the knife just cut with ease without effort and the roast potatos were crispy and fluffy in the middle, the veg was just right and the gravy and horseradish added to the great flavour of the dish, added to this a perfect Guinness just made my meal perfect. You may think that all this is too good to be true but if you read my other reviews you will see I'm not scared to criticise a bad meal and I speak my mind!

Away from the main town, which suited us. Very helpful staff including the owner, whom we had a long chat with. Breakfast was very nice with toast and a cuppa.

On 11 December I, along with twenty-six friends, chose The Rainbow Inn as the venue for our Christmas Dinner and what an inspired choice it turned out to be. It's not easy catering for twenty-seven people where they each receive their hot meal, more or less at the same time. However, the Rainbow chef and the staff managed to pull-off this feat with aplomb. Not only that, but the quality of the food, the manner in which it was prepared and the way it was served was what we would have expected to find at fine dining restaurant. What we thought was a real ale pub with an on-demand food menu and plenty of tables and chairs for chatting and playing board games is, in fact, also a jolly nice place to enjoy top class cuisine. The icing on the pudding was that there was none of the ghastly loud intrusive piped music which plagues so many dining establishments leaving their customers sounding hoarse the following morning.

My friend and I frequently pass The Rainbow but yesterday was the first time we had been inside. We were welcomed by friendly staff and regular customers. The inn is clean and comfortable and we are looking forward to our next visit during which we are hoping to sample the food. The only thing that may put people off from entering is the slight shabby exterior but our recent experience serves to demonstrate that you should never judge a book by its cover. P.S. Whiskey all round!

Booked for 4 families to have roast dinner here, total of 16 from ages 4 to adult! The cuts of meat were superb (& plenty!) roast potatoes were homemade and the nice little touch of individual gravy boats made this a lovely meal!! To top it off most of us had Jac's toffee pudding, delicious! A worthy finish!!! Great food!!

I've been going to this pub for over a year now since it was taken over and it's a great little place to come and have a nicely kept real ale or a cold larger, the staff are friendly and the locals don't bite!, I bring my family in on a regular basis to have a meal and it's all home cooked from scratch and tastes good, I'm really surprised more people have not ventured further out of town to try the rainbow, pound for pound it is the cheapest pub in chichester and shames other pubs with their high prices and costly microwave food, so if you want good beer, good company and value for money good food go to the rainbow.

Afternoon chips and beer, very busy, parking can be tight, area to side, hard to see, small area adjacent to front entrance where a small terrace of tables are located, chips with diesel! Chips and cider were excellent The inside is quirky, well laid out with a lot of local history posted on the walls.

Popped in for lunch following a walk to the Halnaker Windmill. Managed to get the last table available. I had the "lunchtime" size fish and chips with tartare sauce and mushy peas and my partner had the gammon, egg and chips. Both were very good. The "lunchtime" size fish and chips was a perfect size. My partner then had the crumble and ice cream and I had a mini version with custard and a flat white coffee. All very good too. Friendly staff and a great menu. A good selection of alcohol free beers. Definitely one to visit again when in the area, would book in advance.

Very disappointed in my Scrambled egg on brown toast, the egg had no taste very pale done in the microwave, and water on my plate made my barely toasted toast wet and soggy. Great pleasant staff. Service good but unfortunately the breakfast was horrible.

We often visit this Greggs whilst shopping in Chichester as their sausage rolls are the best. As I don’t drink dairy milk, in the past I’ve always had soya in little cartons. My husband asked for oat milk (my favourite) and to my pleasant surprise Greggs now offer oat milk as an alternative. So my order was for an Americano with oat milk on the side. My husband also mentioned “on the side”. This is because I don’t take much so need to add it myself. So when the lady served an Americano with oat included (frothed up, yuk) (Since when does an Americano have warm frother milk in it?) I said, no I ordered oat milk on the side. Stroppy cow said she didn’t hear that (we said it twice) and that anyway they don’t serve oat milk on the side. So I’ve paid for a coffee that I can’t drink as it’s too milky. I really expected her to say “sorry madam, let me do another one for you”. I mean, for the sake of customer satisfaction, just pour it away and serve me what I’ve asked for! Is it too much to ask to have oat milk on the side? This is a first for us. Every other coffee establishment we visit serves it cold, and on the side when asked. She has no customer skills at all. A right stroppy cow. We were disgusted.

We popped in without a reservation on a Saturday lunchtime and luckily they had a table for us. The pub was buzzing with happy people, clearly lots of locals too which is always a good sign. We had three courses - hadn’t planned to but the food was just soooo good! The prawn cocktail was the best we’ve ever had, and mains were delicious. OH had sea bass and I had lambs liver. Both served piping hot and with fresh veg. One of my main beefs is when food isn’t hot enough. Not so here, well done Berkeley Arms. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for too. We live 20 mins away but we’ll most definitely be back!
