The food is very good. One of our party was a little disappointed that his main course was not as spicy as he had anticipated, but still thoroughly enjoyed it. The manager made very good suggestions as to what is best accompaniment for each dish, he was spot on. The portions are very generous. Two of us couldn't finish and they happily gave us containers to take away the leftovers. Staff were really nice. Our only criticism is the very slow service. For most of our meal there was a group of about 8-10 people and our group of 4. So not busy. However we still enjoyed every bite.

It was a very nice meal. A 4 out of 5 because the Groupon deal isn’t quite as described (or clearly described as we might have missed some small print). The £24 for 2, 2-course meal was as described although as a veggie I had no choice - there was just 1 veggie starter and 1 veggie main course. The meal ‘needed’ a side dish that’s not included, there’s also a 10% non-discretional service charge, plus a £2 a head surcharge for going on a Friday evening (that I could understand if they were busy, but it was more than 1/2 empty). The included glass of wine is basically just a 1/2 glass (v small) and you can’t exchange a non alcoholic juice for a fizzy water. By the time we had finished our 2-course meal with modest drinks was over £45. That’s still not bad, but there’s no need to pitch such a low price that isn’t realistic. Indeed, the £24 for 2 almost put us off for being too cheap. A very friendly experience and tasty dinner, but marred by unnecessary chiselling. PS plastic menus and live candle don’t mix! 😂 (see photo)

As locals to the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised with the decor and the general feel of the place. We came with the intention of trying out the new burger menu. The menu was a good size with a good amount of options on it. We went for the chilli cheeseburger, Mac mummy burger and chicken burger with sides of garlic skin on fries, skin on fries and tato tots (the owner proudly declaring that they were the only place in Warwickshire that sells them) The food arrived quickly and was presented well, the Burgers were freshly made and the patties were hand made. The meal was very tasty and we all polished off our plates. Very good quality and value for money, we shall definitely be back. On a side note, the owner was very charming and attentive.

Have to say, we purchased a Groupon voucher for two people, two courses. Choice of starter, main or sweet, with a glass of wine each or a soft drink. For what we paid we weren’t expecting too much. But we were very pleasantly surprised. Both starters and mains were hot, very tasty and portion size was more than enough for us. Wine was not too bad either. The chap that served us was attentive and polite, didn’t have to wait too long for each course. Over all, very impressed.

I sat in the restaurant and had Pohpiah Goreng, followed by the Captain's Curry (extra hot), Nasi Limau Kunyit rice and a Roti Canai (bit like a paratha but slightly sweet). I have to say it was absolutely delicious, couldn't fault it. The service is friendly and attentive. I have to add that I was concerned about the poor reviews, but my experience was exemplary. I would highly recommend eating here.

Raffles Restaurant is the most authentic restaurant I've ever been to. The best service is provided and AMAZING food. I would recommend the Captain's Curry and the Chicken Satay.

Raffles Malaysian Restaurant is a spectacular place to visit and they serve the most delicious and authentic Malaysian food. I would especially recommend the chicken satay as a starter as it had a unique sweet flavour and full of lemon grass with a fresh peanut sauce. Another amazing dish that I tried out was the Captain's Curry and it was a nice thick coconut based curry and it was simply delightful. You should try out the fantastic range of tasty dishes available at Raffles Restaurant. I will definitely come back during my next business visit with my colleagues to try the other dishes available.

Where do we start…. I don’t think I have been that disappointed in the food and service in a very long time, The starter 4 tiny Pieces of frozen pork & prawn Siu mai advertised and pork and prawn dumplings. Mains: Both curries completely taste like full on Sri Lankan food, lacking any Malaysian authenticity what so ever, clumpy rice ( have videos) frozen parantha ( advertised as Roti chanai. Constant loud Tamil language chat from the kitchen, banging, grinding, drilling with an actual drill manager walking around whistling! While we sat there for 45 mins I seriously would haven’t even eaten here if I was paid too! Best buy was when we were asked to pay for service, when we got 1 second into explaining he called the chef who explained that rice was authentic Malaysian sticky rice .. having been to malaysia 4 times and eaten Malaysian and Asian food many times I’ve never had lumpy, clumped, old basmati rice 🤣 MANY PICTURES AND VIDEOS AVAILABLE AVOID ITS A SHAMBLES WILL BE POSTING REVIEWS ON MORE FORUMS

Superb first visit to this restaurant. Food was amazing - very tasty. We enjoyed all courses. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Would be very happy to recommend to friends and return.

We treated ourselves to a Groupon Malaysian afternoon tea at this little hotel. We were the only ones there. Eventually the prosecco arrived and we enjoyed many traditional and a couple of English treats. Our favourite were the satay, the layers Malay bread and the curry chicken puffs. Then with our hot drinks we enjoyed steamed bao buns with custard filling and macaroons. Hubby had a lovely little pineapple tart but I was full. They let me take rest home. We enjoyed our unusual afternoon tea and would definitely recommend with a Groupon voucher. We did pay the service charge of 10% as on the whole service was ok.

This restaurant deserves to be full to the rafters every single day. Excellent food and the prices are exceptional value for money. Never been to Warwickshire so when we got hungry did a google found this place and I would definitely return again. The starter was delicious a mince/ spiced bread combination with salad and my main with okra was fantastic with a yogurt rice and spicy pork amazing slow burn heat spicy flavours so so nice …. I bought the Groupon deal for my mum for Mother’s Day. The first reservation in April was cancelled, they rang & told me they had a private party so I rearranged for this evening at 6pm. My mum and her partner arrived at 5.30pm to be told they had a private function but could come back at 8.30pm! … Really??? I had no correspondence from them at all about this despite them telling my mum they had emailed me! I have checked my spam etc & have nothing! Needless to say I am requesting a refund. The disappointing thing is my mum said the man at the restaurant didn’t seem bothered at all. Hence why I am writing this now. So thanks for disappointing my mum again & you rubbish communication, I hope Groupon remove you.

Just had what has to be the best value meal. 2 courses glass of wine for 2 for £19. It's a groupon deal but better booking it direct. First class service great food 5 stars all the way.

My first time leaving a review but for good reason! I would be surprised if our meal was cooked by a chef, a strange combination of under cooked, over cooked, and just odd combinations of ingredients. Sadly now back at the supermarket £30 lighter as the food was genuinely inedible. Prior to ordering my partner advised that she’d heard ‘mixed things’, I thought why not have a gamble, please don’t make the same mistake as me!

A completely understated restaurant housed within a local hotel, gentle atmosphere ideal for conversation and fabulous food. We had a wonderful meal with a flavour explosion without being hot or burny to spoil the experience. Very friendly staff and overall a great evening

This restaurant serves traditional Malaysian food that brought back memories of travels in Malaysia. Superb! We thoroughly enjoyed and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending. If you want to feel like you’re experiencing real Malaysian food this is the place to come. We’ll be back!

Went for dinner here whilst staying in the hotel next door. The staff were very polite friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and tasty. Would recommend.

I had an issue with a Groupon Voucher which I was unable to use. Although I had booked a table for technical reasons we could not use it on the night. Groupon assured me that if Raffles emailed me to confirm that we had not used the voucher they would issue a replacement. Although in my original email I quoted the Groupon text, Raffles (Kenilworth) have refused to email me to simply confirm that I had not used the voucher on the planned date and that was it - end of story. I like Malaysian food, and have eaten in the 'real' Raffles in Singapore but have no intention of setting foot in this one!

We used a Groupon to visit here - first time, and it was fabulous. The food was great - we chose the curry pasties, and the dim sum - which were superb. We both chose the special spicy chicken curry - again, lovely. We added extras to our meal choosing desserts which were fresh and very good. the one thing that really stood out was the service. impeccable. so attentive, without being overbearing. the waiter even came back to check the temperature of the dicer was ok! 1st class.

I saw Raffles Malaysian on Tripadvisor reviews. It sounded lovely and worth a visit. I asked a local girl on reception at my hotel if it was good. She said it was not and that She would not recommend it. I was in two minds but decided to give it a chance and order a take away. I phoned and was told it would be ready in 30-40 minures. Quite a wait. Down I went. There were two tables occupied with no food on their tables. I was asked to wait in an adjoining lounge. This was empty and obviously unused, quite dingy and tired. After 50 minutes I went back into the restaurant to continue waiting. The same two sets of seated customers where still there. I asked one party if they had had food yet. No was the answer. Obviously a problem in the kitchen. After 60 minutes my take away came out. I was due 15% off on my food but the sole waiter gave me 20%. The food. I had a King Prawn fritter starter and a KP main with rice, a veg side and a roti bread. Everything was awful, hardly edible. The main I had had no KP's but what I think was a soft, gooey tofu. The rice was congealed. The whole meal was unappetising. I binned most of everything. Probably the worst take away I have EVER had. Do yourself a favour and avoid Raffles Malaysian in Kenilworth. I wish I had!

Having made a special visit to Kenilworth on Wednesday in the hopes to talk to someone in the restaurant about menu options for vegans and also a two night stay in the hotel, I was disappointed to find no one anywhere in the hotel. No one on reception, no one in any of the rooms I was able to walk through. I did call out loudly but no response. Not a good start. I did however see a menu and find extensive choice for vegans. I decided to take a chance and I booked a Groupon deal for a meal for two, and phoned this evening to book a table. I was told that they could not serve me any vegan options as they limit their menu for Groupon deals. This makes no sense as the vegan options were cheaper/same price as all other options. The man rudely said he can do nothing and hung up before I had finished talking. I have requested a refund from Groupon and will not come to this restaurant now on principal alone.

My husband surprised me with a meal here for our anniversary......I was blown away by the quality of the food.When you walk in you are welcomed with a smile, the dining area looks and feels lovely, it’s clean inviting and intimate.Our server Danielle was lovely from start to finish, she explained about the menu and what you can have... (nothing has an individual price, you either pick 2,3 or 4 courses, you don’t need to have a starter second course and main, you can have all starters or all mains if you prefer) we opted for 4 courses each, every single one of our meals was full of flavour and so tasty! I will not hesitate to book here for another special occasion and I will be recommending it everyone I know.Thank you for making our evening very special.We parked in the side street opposite as the car park was full.

This was our first visit, but not our last. The food was excellent and spicy, the atmosphere was good. The staff are lovely and we used a TasteCard for a discount on the bill but we thought the prices were very reasonable anyway. The dishes are very filling too, excellent all round.The Christmas/festive season menu looks very appealing too.

A Saturday night meal out with family. The restaurant was very quiet and the service was a little slower than we expected, but we weren’t in a rush and the food was worth waiting for. I would definitely go back and might also consider staying as they offer rooms as well as the restaurant.

Unethically overpriced, tragically slow waiting times (one hour in an empty restaurant), extremely poor "food" and dated decor. I think some of the veg had gone off. Dessert was partially frozen straight from the microwave after half an hour... The waitress was great though

As this restaurant is within the Hotel, it can be missed by passersby, at their loss. Warm welcome, friendly service, pleasant surroundings and lovely tasty fresh food from the Malaysian menu. Won’t be long before we’ll be back.

Never having been to a Malaysian restaurant before, we weren't sure what to expect. However, it was a delightful experience. The food was excellent - the Rendang daging (Beef rendang) was particularly good - and we liked the table d'hote pricing: one could have one, two, three or four courses for set prices. Service was first class: the service charge was automatically added on to the bill, but we gave extra because of that service. Overall, we'd encourage anyone to try Raffles.

The restaurant lacks atmosphere. It was so much better when it was a stand alone restaurant on the high street. Then it was really something special and worrh making the trip. Now it is disappointing which is a real shame as the food is really good

We`ve been to Raffles many times and love the food. Lovely clean & bright inside. Only down side is the parking is very tight at the back of the restaurant

We stayed in the adjoining hotel so decided that as the menu looked really interesting we would eat here. We were not disappointed at all. I had the Murtabak starter which was described as “crispy”... it wasn’t but it was very tasty. My husband had Tim Sum which he declared were excellent. My second course was Udang Baker Kering ..succulent jumbo prawns. Our mains were Pepper Lamb and the Captain’s Curry... all highly recommended. The Singapore Sling cocktails went down well also. Service was excellent and the staff were eager to please and attentive even when a party of 40 arrived for their special buffet.

What a lovely place. We visited for the first time on Saturday. Lovely choices on the menu. Food was spicy and so tasty. Portions were a perfect size. All of our party enjoyed the food and we will definitely revisit. It is so nice to visit a restaurant which serves such tasty dishes. Service was excellent and servers were very attentive. They do put a service charge on the bill so beware of this. We asked them to remove it which they did with no quibbles. We prefer just to leave a tip rather than pay a service charge as you are never too sure if the servers benefit from this additional charge.

Although it was a quiet cold February Friday the food and service soon warmed us up. The Raffles Experience is great value with a Singapore sling, 1/2 bottle of wine and 4 courses plus coffee for less than 40 quid. Worth the extra 5 minute walk for a an alternative spice hit the Indian places in town.

Lack of music and ambient sound means you’ll have to be on a table of great conversationalists OR be prepared to listen to conversations at other tables. If you want great ambience or a social atmosphere then this is not the place for you. If you want great food, attentive service and value for money, then this is pretty much perfect!

Food and service to a very high standard. We have been going to Raffles (and Coconut Lagoon) regularly since it opened and they were always very busy, lunch and evening serving food to a very high standard. We have now been twice in four months and the place has been empty, but still high quality food and service. We must not lose this establishment!

Having spent 6 weeks working in Malaysia in 2016 and falling in love with the food, I was very keen to try the restaurant. Having raved to my family about Malaysian food and trying to emulate some recipes at home, I was happy that they would finally get to try the real thing. Unfortunately I was very disappointed. The satay chicken skewers were very dry. The beef rending was good, the nasi goreng was quite disappointing too. The nasi goreng’s that I had in KL and Penang , and the recipes I have made at home had fried egg on top but the one from this restaurant had omelette on it, which I felt took away from it a bit. The meal was expensive for what it is, and my family weren’t very impressed. Our few days away were planned around visiting the restaurant, which unfortunately I feel was a mistake.

We had previously often visited the Raffles when it was on the High Street so we decided to try the and ew version. We found the variety much reduced, but we still managed to find options we liked, even for my husbands no carbohydrate diabetic diet. The only issue was that on a Monday night, there were few dinners and there was a big gap between the starter and the main while the chef took his break. Overall good value for money and with a limited but interesting menu.

BUT what has gone wrong.....Raffles always used to be really busy and buzzing...but it was virtually empty and consequently a bit glum Let us hope this was an unlucky night

A return visit to Raffles for us and pleased to say that the quality of the dining experience was just as good as previous visits. Authentic and tasty Malaysian food and great service too.
