The weather was cold, rainy, very windy and then sunny. All that was missing was snow, but the opportunity to enjoy a pub lunch was not to be missed although venturing into the open garden was a no-no.The large marquee gave us adequate protection from wind and rain but apparently restrictions insist 2 sides must be completely open so the heaters had no chance of raising the temperature very much. We didn't care, and the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable. We enjoyed a good lunch, great beers and red wine.Fine memory of the Queens Head.

Amazing pub! Myself and my partner lewis came here for dinner and drinks and it was amazing atmosphere and the food was delicious! It just needs some music outside and then it is perfect!

Absolutely delicious hand made pizzas and really well kept local real ale from a lovely village pub. Can't wait for The Queens Head to open again post-covid19 so we can have a proper night out in a proper pub like this one again.

We had a half term walk around Sutton Valence and lunch here. Such a lovely pub. Super friendly. Great local food and so lovely to our rather muddy and miserable dog.. he had his own bowl and biscuits. Will definitely be back when there is better weather.

Went for a meal under the ‘Eat out to help out scheme’.The food was good but that was the only positive.Despite operating with reduced tables, there were still very few diners (only two or three tables of 3-4 people at the time of placing my order). After 50 minutes I had to chase my food up before I started chewing on the table and their excuse was; ‘we are very busy due to the Eat out to help out deal’. Reeeally! The Kings head a few metres away would have only taken about 15 - 20 minutes maximum, especially for only two people ordering. To really rub salt in the wound, the dippy young woman working there simply charged me without offering the bill, which I made a point of asking for. Upon inspection, she had taken 50% of the food but not the soft drinks as per the Government deal and consequently was ripping me of by overcharging by £7!They also offer contactless payment which is a complete joke as the waitress took my card from me to put behind the bar to run a tab thus making contactless a completely pointless exercise.I will most certainly NOT be retuning, and neither will my extended family who live in the village, and I apologise for being disloyal to the impeccable Kings Head. These amateurs need to learn how to run a pub properly if they are going to offer food, and they certainly SHOULD NOT be advertising a deal that they are not honouring. If you do choose to try them out, insist on receiving an itemised bill and check it thoroughly.

Absolutely brilliant pub. The beer garden is so peaceful and very well kept by the owners. We broke down whilst driving through Sutton Valence and the owners were so kind and accommodating. Go and show them some love.

This is a lovely little pub. We visited three times over a fortnight and had a great time on every occasion. The staff are friendly and helpful, the prices reasonable and the food is some of the best pub fare I've had. I highly recommend!

Possibly one of the worst Sunday lunches I’ve ever had, the potatoes were very cheap dry frozen potatoes. Not even aunt Bessie’s. The beef was tough and chewy. Not a good choice of veg just carrots and cabbage. Also there was a dog constantly wandering round our table when we was eating looking for food and it put its head up at my baby eating in his high chair and was trying to sniff his food. If I am paying at a restaurant to eat I expect not to have to shoo away dogs, especially from my baby trying to eat his dinner. Would not return.

We have been going the the Queens Head for the last year, great family run pub and 100% can recommend the Sunday beef roast but the ham egg & chips comes a very close second if you don’t fancy a roast. We have fallen in love with this beautiful village pub and is one of the main reasons we live just outside but within walking distance the village; Steph & Dave organise loads of charity events that not only generate a proper community atmosphere within the village but also funds for the local charities such as Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance which serves our area and close too our hearts as we both work for London’s Air Ambulance . Great atmosphere, food, dog & motorcycle friendly too so what’s not to like ☺️

Visited couple of weeks ago on a December Sunday. Nice cosy pub with friendly staff.Had a super sunday roast. Presentation was nice. The huge bowl of homemade cauliflower cheese was delicious and we all loved the fact that each person had their own full size gravy boat. Most places never give you enough gravy. It was also excellent value for money. Such a shame it was so quiet on that day, really cant understand why, but hopefully others will now go along to try the sunday roast!! One of us had a burger which was also excellent with great chunky chips,VERY FILLING!!

we went for a light bite and were there as they opened.the landlady told us they'd had a cocktail party the night before. We'd been there years ago and sat in the garden so wanted to sit in the garden today as it was a gloriously sunny day.She went to let the dogs back into the pub and we sat in the garden which was nice.we ordered bacon and brie baguettes which were yummy.we had to move tables because of a bee bothering us and then i noticed dog mess near the table and a dog toy.I love dogs but before you let paying guests in please make sure the surroundings are clean, also noticed litter on the steps leading to the garden and in the garden, sorry this is not good enough.we would rather have waited than go in straight away.health and safety would have had a field day.

On my cricket travels popped in here for Lunch. This lovely pub is off the main road tucked behind Kings Head. Ordered a Tuna baguette & fat chips as I was not sure as to what kinda food I'll be served! This pub has a lovely little garden in the rear with a separate play area for kids - absolutely fantastic. Very friendly lot, and when I got my order served I was absolutely gob smacked!! I was served a freshly baked soft baguette which melted away with tuna, superb salad on the side and coleslaw to go with it - one of the best I've ever had! The portion of chips was generous and tasty but I couldn't have more than a couple of them as I was full up with the baguette. Thoroughly recommend if you're passingby near here - wish I had taken a picture!

We met for a regional meeting with the Royal British Legion Riders Branch, they had set aside an area for us to park our bikes safely. We started the meeting in the large garden then moved inside for some amazing food which had the added bonus of being a reasonable price. The pub has some fantastic views from the windows but to me the garden was the best feature and other than eating we spent most of our time out there. Will definitely go back at some point.

I took my mum to this pub yesterday after a walk on Mother's Day. We had a superb lunch - lots of lovely vegs and we both had the chicken. We couldn't eat all of it but it was absolutely lovely and hit the spot. The staff were very friendly and attentive and it was a very good price. Overall a lovely experience - just a small point - it was quite cold in there and we were a way from the fire. But have been before and will definitely go back.

Really enjoyed a very rare family Sunday lunch after all the festivities. Choice of roast chicken or Lamb shank, both cooked beautifully, and the veggies of which there was loads really tasty, felt bad leaving so much! It was lovely to be back in the village that I grew up in ( shame about the weather)! The Queens head is a really nice traditional pub, I hope it stays that way and doesn't get bitten by the bistro bug.Looking forward to visiting again

My wife and I had heard from friends that the Queens Head does a very good fish and chips on a Friday evening so we eventually got round to booking a table. We turned up 10 mins before our booked time so we could have a couple of drinks before dinner. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming, service was fast and efficient!I was pleased to see that they had London Pride on tap so I enjoyed a couple of pints. We were shown to our table and it wasn't long before our banquet of fresh fried cod and chips arrived. The fish was nice and fresh in lovely crisp batter. Portions were so generous that I just managed to finish mine with room for no more! We will defiantly be returning for another visit soon!Thank you Dave and Steph.
