Queen of Bradgate in Leicester

I nip in a couple of times a week for couple of beers .

So today we celebrated my daughter’s 16th birthday on the top floor in the vintage cinema room and bar/ping pong area and we have all had just the best time! From first phone call to last conversation upon leaving the staff have gone above and beyond to help with arrangements and make sure everything has been perfect and it really has been! I never write reviews (but strangely always like to read them and take them on board 🤷‍♀️) but I really felt compelled to say what a great venue, staff and food experience we’ve had today. This is a hidden gem of a venue in Leicester and I know for sure people who came to the party today will definitely rebook as everyone was raving about how great it was! Thank you to everyone involved in making my daughter’s 16th birthday one she’ll never forget!

Very good on Friday and Saturdays as they have live music and is always full with a good crowd.

Purchased a drink asked about food advised if we sit in the restaurant area someone would come and serve us. Didn't happen. Finished drink and left . Rubbish service.

The food here is lovely well presented and tasty. The garden is a hidden delight. The drink selections fantastic and they do cocktails. A well managed pub through and throughout.

Had an hour or so to kill prior to access to hotel Had a couple of pints of Vedett & Cornish Orchard between 2 of us & a Charcuterie from the lunch time menu Verdict- absolutely glorious Staff - nothing 2 much trouble Proprietor- approachable & had time to liaise Idiot free zone = bonus

Great pub on a Friday night, live music

Came here for my birthday meal, nice food and lovely staff too, only criticism is I thought the gravy was a bit too salty also the creamy mash which was for our granddaughter, she didn’t eat it,but everything was well presented and would visit again.

Dropped in for a pint after a curry with the lads. Excellent service from the bar staff. Good selection of drinks and plenty of cosy seats.

Server with dark hair and beard scratched my ID and said “look at him” to a collegue with uncertainty? I appreciate you have to check IDs but don’t be rude.. Very strange experience, rude and weird guy.

Busy popular pub on a Saturday with a great live band playing covers of firm favourites. Have to shout so not a place for a quiet chat. Very lively so us oldies bowed out just after 10 and there was a big queue outside. Service at the bar was quick and we found a seat earlier in the evening

We nipped there with my friend when the place was almost empty, it felt like it was just for us, on Tuesday tapas specials no less, by sheer coincidence 😍🥳, I had tapas, which was amazing. Lovely music, and they also had Staropramen, Czech beer not from bottle, yeey, I can definitely recommend.

Unfortunately we had a horrible man try to spike us but the staff were so attentive and friendly, they re-made our drinks and kept checking in on us (especially the female bar tender). Thank you so so much for all the help and support! Usually, this would scare me but the staff and security fit these absolute best and kept their eye on us to ensure we were safe. This is not the company or anyone else’s fault but the awful person who tried to do this (all evidence is handed into the bar)! Obviously it’s not their fault at all? there are cruel people in this world but they did all they can to ensure we felt safe and secure and prioritised our concerns. Thank you so so much! We will definitely return!

Came here for the first time in a few years. All the staff was great, from the doorman to the floor staff and bar. Big shout out to Matt & Alex on the back bar who were both hardworking and very attentive to myself and others in that area. See you all soon!

The staff at this venue are INCREDIBLE. My friends and are we’re unfortunately almost spiked, luckily the pill missed and hit the floor. We immediately handed it in to staff to make them aware of the situation and they offered to remake all of our groups drinks completely free of charge just in case anything had been put it any of our drinks. From then they were so attentive and kind, checking in on us and alerting their bouncers to be on the lookout. Props to this venue for doing their best to keep their customers safe. As a teenage girl in a scary environment it is so incredibly appreciated. All of the staff working tonight were amazing. Thank you queen of Bradgate🫶🫶

Honestly wish i had taken photos of how well the food was presented. Came here today for the first time for a meal and a drink. The atmosphere was nice and chilled. The food was very well presented and tasted great!! And i am absolutely shocked by the bill. There was 4 of us that had a main meal and 1 drink each and the bill was £55. I am confident we were under charged as the service and food was far better than most places i have been and paid that price for 1/2 people!!!

Comfortable seating and chilled atmosphere as went in the day

This is a great pub with a good range of drinks, plus a dining only area. The menu is standard gastropub fayre with decent veggie and vegan options. Upstairs can be hired for functions, and I've been to a few - it's a great space. Friday and Saturday nights are busy, especially during happy hours 5-8pm when there are drinks offers.

We love the Queen of Bradgate, great food, friendly, polite staff and relaxed atmosphere.

We went with another couple for drinks and food, well we weren’t disappointed the food was first class. Staff very friendly and prices reasonable. Thanks for a lovely Saturday.

Nice relaxing place for a drink

Had our Christmas meal here yesterday and we couldn't fault one thing food delicious and well presented, service excellent and atmosphere just as it should be for this time of year and it was really value for money, definitely recommend 😀

Working in Leicester and ate here now twice and I’m surprised how quiet it is mid week. Food is fantastic and my colleague were pleasantly surprised at the quality of pub grub. I had the specials both times and really nice flavours and quality veg and pastry. Even granted me second helpings of gravy ! With a great selection of beers and offers on drinks plus fantastic service whats not to like ? Will be returning again when next in town !

We had our daughters wedding reception in the venue upstairs, it was absolutely wonderful and so beautiful, we were able to set up the morning off with decorations, everything went so smoothly with the staff being so helpful with everything, nothing was too much trouble, huge shout out to Karissa & Elliot and the rest of the amazing team at QOB 🫶🏼

Came here for an impromtu Saturday lunch, having never been before. Wonderful food - and so much of it! Was really not expecting the portion sizes delivered and ended up ordering far too much! Extremely good service and a lovely atmosphere. Incredibly impressed!

Stopped to have drinks before going onto a restaurant for food, enjoyed our drinks and sat outside in a busy street, nice polite staff and chilled atmosphere.

We hired the top floor of the Queen of Bradgate for our wedding reception a week ago, and cannot praise it enough. Upstairs amenities include a cinema where we screened films throughout the evening, table tennis (which the children appreciated), and a great setup for a live band. Karissa and the team could not have been more helpful in the preparations, meeting with us more than once and offering to liaise directly with our cake-maker and band to make things easier. The food was great as well, as it always is.

We called in on Sunday afternoon and it was an open mic gig. Great music, great atmosphere. Had a lovely chat to the bar man Remy, who was lovely and looked after us well.

Good spot in town, atmosphere is cool. Can take a while to get served but in general a good spot 🍺

Celebrated my citizenship with Queen of Bradgate. Amazing service and food. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. It was an added delight and bonus to have Remy be our bartender for the evening. He went over and above to make each guest feel welcome. He made delicious cocktails, ones on and off the menu. Thank you to all the staff for creating a lovely atmosphere for a celebration evening.

We had some food allergies within the group. The area had been fully cleaned and Remi and Sonny explained any food or drink items that could be a risk had been removed - which was really reassuring! The guys also made sure the master class was inclusive for a member of the group with a visual impairment and during the competition element of the masterclass, Remi was fantastic at guiding this group member through how to make the cocktail so they were able to take part as well as the rest of us. A big thank you to Remi and Sonny! We all had a really fun time and would definitely recommend.

I love coming to Bradgate to have a pint because . Remy makes us all feel so at home.

Surprising range of varied food and we're brilliant when we tried them. And good beer selection too.

Massive thank you to Remy & Elliot from the upstairs bar. They made our group really welcome, both absolutely brilliant bar staff. Top of their trade, friendly and approachable, had recommendations a plenty and stories that came with them. It was an absolute pleasure to try new stuff that I’ll be looking out for from now on. My wife and I were staying at the nearby Travelodge so called in for an early evening supper and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. I had the Ox cheeks with lovely roast veg, my wife had a beef and ale pie on a bed of mash and cabbage, and both were absolutely delicious!!! The atmosphere in the bar was nice and the staff were lovely, the wine was nice too.

Really nice and friendly manager, the lady with the blonde curly hair. Always smiley and a great host.

We went for a dinner on the Sunday when the national alarm was tested. Table booked for 3 p.m., the alarm went off as soon as we entered. We stood in the middle of the pub waiting for someone to come and seat us, waited maybe 2 or 3 minutes, while 4 or 5 staff members stood in a group a few yards away from us, busy talking, not paying any attention to us. In the end my wife approached a staff member and she took us to a table. I then went to the bar to get some drinks, again spent a long time waiting, the only customer at the bar before I was finally served. I also had to ask for the menus as no one had brought them. We all had roast sirloin, we were told it comes medium rare, which was fine, but when it arrived it was rare, maybe even blue. 2 of our party were not happy with that; the waitress explained that it comes rare and then when you pour gravy over it, it brings it up to medium rare. What?! The gravy wasn't even hot, never mind the ridiculous idea. Anyway, the fingers went back and were prefect when they came back. The food was very, very good. We then sat with snooty uncollected plates for at least 10 minutes in an almost empty pub, only 2 other tables were occupied. The staff were again busy doing something else, who knows what. We finally called someone over, she cleared the table and took our dessert orders. Again, the sticky toffee pudding was nice, maybe could be a bit warmer, but no major faults with it. So, to sum up, very good food and below average service, for which you tip anyway as it's included in your bill...

Pre-order only is rarely, if ever, ideal; fair enough for functions but not the usual approach to a standard Friday night at a pub. Soup of the day, non-specific a term as that is, surely must come with some expected rate of request to change the dish, but the request to do so was refused. As the pub was being attended for goodbye food and drinks for a colleague, the decision was accepted. However, when it was announced by the patronising staff that the business was cashless, it became much less tricky to leave without participating in the evening or feeling uncomfortable with doing so. Either sticking with the soup or only being allowed to pay electronically might have been more readily accepted, but both felt like an imposition.

In amongst the mundane world of high street restaurants lies the Queen of Bradgate. The engaging staff know their beers from the excellent non mainstream selection and then there is the menu. Wow! A menu to make the palate sing with joy. A minute steak with a delicate horseradish mayo, nachos that are fresh made, a soup that passes the critical powers of my East European wife and titbits for out 2.5 year old daughter. So visit if you are in Leicester.

We have visited several times to drink but came today for lunch..... and we were not disappointed, great friendly service as ever, the menu let us struggling to choose and a huge GF selection for my partner!! Tapas to start which was very authentic and wraps for mains, we polished everything off and we'll be back for sure !!

Great service and a fantastic 2 course set price Sunday lunch. Dissapointed by the service tip added to the bill at end that is not mentioned only added at nearly £4.00. would of been nice to be mentioned upfront. Apart from that we will return

Popped in here for a drink/coffee and was really impressed. A big pub with plenty of tables but felt cosy and warm. Friendly staff and clearly happy and cheerful at work which is always nice to see. We weren't eating or drinking alcohol, but the food we saw coming out looked lovely and there was a good choice of beers, spirits etc.
